When Tomoe gained back his conscience, he found himself surrounded by the same darkness and pain, even if he tried to open his eyes, he wouldn't be able to see anything. He was mentally and physically exhausted, in fact, he wanted to die.

"Why am I not dead already?"—Tomoe asked with a barely audible voice.

"Because Nanami is trying her hardest to save you"—Mikage answered his question.

"You are still here?"—Tomoe asked, since he thought their previous conversation had just been a dream.

"Let me tell you a story"—Mikage started—"Twenty years ago, I met Nanami"

"How is that possible?"—Tomoe interrupted him.

"Questions at the end"—His ex-master stated as he continued—"I erased your memory, but I knew that you'll one day remember about the woman you loved. It is because you had fallen in love once again, but let me tell you, you have only loved one woman"

"You erased my memories!?"—Tomoe asked in disbelief.

"You were dying"—he clarified.

"Why did you leave me?"—Tomoe asked, his voiced came mixed with hurt.

"As I said before, Nanami is back in the time to save you. She got trapped in the time 20 years ago, where I met her. She looked exhausted but she was wearing a big smile saying 'I know how to save Tomoe!' It startled me at the beginning but I knew what I had to do. That's why I left you, and also her meeting with me wasn't by faith"—Mikage explained.

It was too much information, Tomoe was both relieved but angry. Why hadn't he said anything? He just left him and thanks to that he build a hate for him…however, he couldn't deny the fact that he was so happy to see him again.

"And one more thing"—Mikage talked once again.

"There's more!?"—Tomoe thought to himself.

"You know what happened to Yukiji?"—he asked trying not to force him so much since it was a sensible topic.

"She died"—Tomoe replied sharply.

"And what about her baby? You knew she was pregnant, right?"

"Probably died and that moment"—he answered coldly. All this questions where really hurting him.

"Wrong. That baby grew healthy thanks to the dragon eye elixir you gave her. You saved her and her baby. That elixir passed from generations through generations until it ended up in Nanami"

"Nanami is Yukiji's familiar!?"—Tomoe asked.

"Yes, and the hairpin you used to make the contract that was Nanami's. The woman you met in that old tatami house that was also Nanami"

"I've loved her for 500 years?"—Tomoe asked as he opened his eyes once again.

He could feel his vision going steady, he wasn't surrounded by darkness anymore. His body gained back his strength.

"TOMOEEEE!"—Nanami's voice rang in his ears, she looked as pretty as always, carrying the hairpin in her hand.

Her voice sounded so sweet. He missed her.

"I love you!"—She said with a bright smile.

Tomoe stared at her and abruptly pulled her closer to him, reducing their distance and drawing her to a sweet kiss.

"I love you too"

The years passed and the harmony in Mikage's shrine was always steady.

"YOU FUCKING SNAKE DON'T TOUCH NANAMI"

Well…not exactly harmony.

After the curse was lifted Nanami and Tomoe started going out which made Mizuki really upset, however he saw his master smiling every day and that was enough for him. Yashiro and Sayoko left the shrine after Sayoko decided that Nanami was worthy of the land goddess title. Actually Nanami and Soyako became good friends. Yashiro is expending more time with Tomoe, even though he doesn't accept it, he is happy about that. Both of them visit pretty often.

Nanami's relationship with Mikage became quite strong.

*Flashback*

"You've work hard, thank you Nanami"—Mikage said with a grin showing his gratefulness.

"Thank you Mikage, thanks for guiding me in my dreams"—Nanami answered back.

"You knew it was me?"—Mikage asked widening his eyes.

"Not at the beginning but then I remembered everything when me met 20 years ago"—she said smiling back as she left to meet with the others.

"For real, thank you"

*end of flashback*

Onikiri and Kotetsu they are the same shrine spirits, always positive and willing to lend a helping hand.

Nanami loved living in that shrine.

"It's been 2 years, huh?"—Nanami asked Tomoe as she approached to him.

"Yes"—Tomoe said patting the seat next to him in order to make Nanami sit next to him.

"The moon just looks exactly as the way it looked back then"—she said turning her gaze to that big full moon that looked just like an ornament.

"You know, I'm so glad I got to know you"—Tomoe said as he hold her hand.

"Me too"—Nanami answered shy unable to stop the blush in her cheeks.

"Why are you so shy? We have done many things for you to be shy now"

"Shhh! Tomoe"—Nanami said covering his mouth, now blushing 10 times worse.

"Nanami"—Tomoe's voice called out for her in a serious tone—"Promise me, you will always be by my side…forever"

"I promise you"—she said as she kissed the tip of his nose.

"And promise you will always love me"

"I'll love you today, tomorrow too, and always, until I die"

"Not even the death will separate us"—Tomoe said as he placed something in Nanami's finger.

A ring.

"T-Tomoe"—Nanami said as she looked the beautiful ring Tomoe had just placed in her finger.

"Will you marry me?"—Tomoe said holding her hand…he loved her so much.

"I would be crazy if I said no. Of course I'll marry you!"—Nanami said as she threw herself to his arms.

She knew and was definitely sure that she belonged to those arms.
