Chapter 6

A week had passed since Gray and Lucy's well-publicized kiss on stage in Oshibana. Both Gray and Lucy decided to write it off as staged and a spur of the moment thing and agreed to remain friends. Meanwhile on the following Monday in homeroom, Gajeel had his arm slung over Lucy's shoulders before class started. She was sitting on the desk as he stood next to her. They were chatting easily with Juvia and Gajeel's little sister, Wendy. Wendy asked Gajeel if she could attend class with him today, due to not wanting to go on the field trip to the pickled plum factory. Macao had approved as long as she stayed close to Lucy and Juvia, seeing as how Gajeel and Wendy didn't exactly equal each other. Lucy had readily agreed to watch over Wendy since she was there for her entrance in the world. She treated the little girl more like a little sister than Gajeel did, but that didn't mean that he didn't care for his sister. He would readily kill for his sister, just like he would for Lucy.

"In your seats!" Macao scowled as he entered the classroom and took his seat at his desk as the students shuffled into theirs. "We have a guest today, so best behavior. Also, the seniors will be coming to talk to you about a graduation plan in the middle of class."

Lucy groaned and gently hit her head on the desk.

"Care to share your thoughts, Miss Dreyar?" Macao asked.

"You said the seniors were coming, right? That means Laxus-nii is coming." That earned a groan from the back of the room, Gajeel, and a tiny yelp from right next to her, Wendy.

"Ah, thanks for reminding me." Macao said as he popped two pills of aspirin into his mouth and swallowed them with his coffee.

The door to the classroom slammed open and the seniors walked in looking angry at the fact that they had to talk to the freshmen. First to enter was Erza and Jellal, followed by Mirajane Strauss, also known as Laxus's love interest, Cana Alberona, and lastly Bixlow, Freed, and Laxus.

Erza stood in front of the group of seniors and addressed the freshmen. "Freshmen, hello." Erza greeted in her own fashion. "Now that you have settled into the final three years of schooling. As your student council president, I would like to thank you for choosing Fairy Tail Academy as your school on behalf of our principal, Master Makarov Dreyar."

Jellal stepped up next to Erza. "Now, all of you have chosen your talent at the entrance ceremony which will sort you into career classes in your second year. Art talents Fullbuster and McGarden would you please line up with Mirajane for your career class list."

Gray and Levy stepped up to grab their list and sat back down. "Music talents Fullbuster, Dreyar, and Redfox please go see Laxus for your list." Jellal paused. "Actually, Redfox and Dreyar may sit, you've already completed your career courses."

Lucy sat back down and smirked slightly, remembering that she and Gajeel had taken these courses in middle school at Sabertooth Academy. Laxus walked over to the joined desk Lucy shared with Gray. He slammed the sheet of paper in front of Gray and glared at her.

Lucy stood up, ready to challenge her oldest brother.

"There, I did my part, now I'm pulling my sister out for a few minutes." He said through clenched teeth.

Erza and Jellal sighed. "Very well, Laxus."

Laxus grabbed Lucy's wrist which earned him a precise "Lucy Kick" to the face. "I can walk just fine on my own."

Everyone could tell how pissed the two blondes were at each other. The two were practically seething and simmering with unfathomable rage.

"Well that would be a first."

"What does that mean?!" Lucy snapped, making the others step back.

"Well, by your taste in men, I began to wonder if you had common sense or not. And since I had to hold your hand for you to even get to this place, I began to think you couldn't do shit for yourself." Laxus glared at as he towered over her.

Lucy kept her glare sturdy as she leveled him with a slap. The sound bounded of the walls in an echo. "Listen up, Laxus. I can handle myself now. In fact these past few years, Sting has been there for me more than you."

Freed stepped between them. "Guys, don't!"

"Stay out of this, Freed." Laxus spat. "This is family business."

"Well, then why are my children fighting?!"

Lucy and Laxus turned to see a tall, dark haired man next to Sting.

"Dad…" Laxus growled.

"Father!" Lucy smiled to hide her anger. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to get my children and bring them home. We have matters to discuss. Grab your things and lets go."

Lucy, being the obedient one, grabbed her things, pecked Gajeel on the cheek and went to stand next to her father.

"Not until I get through her head that she's making a mistake!" Laxus seethed.

Sting pulled Lucy out of the classroom and walked her out of the building. He didn't say a word until she was in the car parked out front.
