Chapter 4

Several days had passed since the team had had their heated argument with Thea. As promised, they didn't seen her during their missions so they never were able to clear things up. Jason was rather happy he didn't have to deal with the rogue member anymore. He didn't want to work with another person who didn't respect his team for what they did.

"24/7 job my foot." He whispered to himself as he recalled her words. "Not only does she think that she's better than us, but she had the nerve to actually attack Mark like that."

It ticked him off whenever he thought about her. His team's job was much harder than hers. She only did recon and made sure their weapons worked properly, she didn't fight the fights and constantly get bruised and hurt.

His communicator beeped. "Jason, we're needed in Andersons office." Princess's voice spoke though the silence of Jason's room.

The condor forced his body up from his sitting position and walked out of the room, heading to the chief's office. Another mission waited for him to complete. He didn't know why, but as he walked his heart seemed to beat a little faster than usual.

"Spectra is on the move." Anderson said as Jason entered the room. "I need you five to destroy their base and any weapons you can. Their new weapons expert has made some highly dangerous guns that can harm you, even with your new armor enhanced uniforms."

Tiny interrupted for a moment. "Who made our uniforms armor enhanced?"

"Thea took the time to do that for you." Anderson quickly explained. "Back to business. I want you to do anything to stop their weapons expert. Her name is Desdemona, and you will most likely find her with Zultar. Dismissed."

The team gave their salute before they departed for the Phoenix, heading to the coordinates of Spectra's base. Once in the jet, each member prepared themselves for the coming battle. Jason in particular made sure to have plenty of ammunition within his pouch. A slight sore in his shoulder caused him to wince slightly, he looked over to the first aid kit next to him.

Might as well. He thought as he opened it and grabbed some gauze as well as any other medical supplies he may need. Expertly placing it within the pouch, he connected the bag to his belt and holstered his pistol.

"We're coming up on the Spectra base. E.T.A. three minutes." Tiny announced as he stationed the ship in the desired place.

"Princess, I need you and Keyop to take out their computer and com systems. After, start setting detonators around the base. Jason and I will go find Desdemona and stop her, hopefully stopping Zultar as well." Mark told the team. "Tiny, stay with the Phoenix for when we need to escape the base before it becomes a flaming inferno."

They all agreed with him and went to do their tasks. The four going to the base went the bay doors so they could glide to the building without being caught. As the wind caught their wings when they were lifted to the air and took off.

Entering was easy enough, finding the girl was another problem. The two teams separated and began their jobs. Luckily, after a few twists and turns though the building they found the room that Zultar was hidden in with the weapons expert.

"Jason, can you capture Desdemona while I take care of Zultar?" the eagle asked.

Jason glanced to the side for a moment. "Like last time? Yea, but I won't lose her this time."

Mark gave a slight nod just before he dashed at the two. The condor followed closely behind ready to do whatever he needed to stop Spectra. Desdemona ran into a corridor behind her with Jason close at her heels. She was fast, but he was faster, and like before she turned a corner to lose him, but he was able to keep up. But after she turned the next corner she stopped suddenly. He stopped and jumped behind the corner he just turned to hide his existence in the area.

She took several glances around, not noticing the condor just around the corner watching her with confused anger. His eyes widened in surprise when she lifted her long sleeve to reveal the G-Force communicator upon her wrist.

"Transmute!" She shouted and a kaleidoscope of light surrounded her.

Rage filled Jason's being as he stepped out from his hiding place as she finished her transformation, the same blue green color scheme as the peacock who constantly fought against his team.

She turned to join the fight but froze when she saw Jason's angered face. "Jason," she started. "I can explain."

"You double crossing imposter." He ran at her with full force. "I knew we could never trust you."

"Jason, wait." Thea pleaded as she cartwheeled to the side of his attack.

He didn't listen as he sent an ambush of punches at her. She was able to dodge all his shots as she was on the defense. He brought his arm down at an angle to try to knock her out with a blow to the side of her neck. She brought her arm up and blocked the painful blow with her forearm, supporting it with her free hand. She winced in pain as she held the weight of the man in front of her.

"Jason, please listen." She begged.

A growl escaped his throat. "No."

He jumped back and swiftly bent down to sweep his leg under her feet to trip her. She jumped out of the way just in time and fell to the ground as she lost her balance. Jason took this chance to attack by jumping into the air with his fist ready to slam into her. She grabbed an item at her belt and flicked it to the side. She was pulled away before Jason's fist could connect with her.

He looked up and saw she had a specialized whip made for multiple uses, he just witnessed the way it could grapple and pull something or someone away from something. It glowed with a blue light as if it were made of energy.

He ran at her again and she also to charge at him, at the last minute she slid to the ground past him and used her whip to catch his ankle, causing him to fall to the ground. He flipped up again and charged at the woman once more. This time she jumped and flipped over him, but he was ready as he grabbed his gun and fired a shot at her, connecting with her thigh.

She landed and automatically fell to the ground with panic displayed on her face. She was forcing pressure on the wound and trying her best to stop the bleeding, but her breaths came out in wheezes, making Jason confused.

"What are you so panicked about?" He asked.

She reached back into her cape, causing him to jump away ready for a surprise attack, but it never came. She simply pulled out a feather from a region only she could reach and forced it into the skin near the area of the wound. The condor noticed that the feather was lilac like her eyes.

"What are you doing?"

"If you gave me a chance to explain." She glared at him as she continued to push on the wound. "I would have told you what was going on."

He shook his head. "What are you doing there?" He pointed to her leg.

She sighed. "I have Hemophilia. It's a rare blood disease that prevents my blood from clotting. I an exceptionally rare case seeing that most people with Hemophilia are male. I just injected myself with a medicine that will get my blood to clot otherwise I would have bled to death."

Jason walked over to her and bent down, he now felt sort of guilty about what he did. He still didn't trust her though.

"I know you don't trust me, but my name is Thea. I do work for ISO, and I'm here because of my job. I'm acting as a double agent for ISO. This is how I get all the information ro your missions." Thea explained shortly.

Jason watched her closely. "Then why did Anderson tell us to capture you?"

"To pull my out of the danger of being a double agent seeing my current condition. He didn't tell you about me because he wanted it to be real enough to trick the enemies."

"And how is it you got into this job with Hemophilia?" He dared to ask.

By this time he had grabbed his pack and, grateful he packed first aid if he needed it, and wrapped the gauze around her leg. A red spot appearing on the white linin.

"My uniform is made by a durable fabric like armor that I developed. It's the same fiber I used to modify your uniforms. It can handle most weapons against it, but now that I know it's weakness against your kind of weapons, I have to find something that will fortify it."

Now he was truly feeling guilty for his temper. He needed to learn to be patient and give people a chance.

He bent down further to her and placed an arm under her legs and behind her back. "Put your arms around my neck."

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Getting you back to the Phoenix to get you medical help." The condor said frankly.

She sighed. "I told your team you would never see me again, yet I have to go to the jet to get help. I hate fate sometimes."

He laughed slightly. "We all do."

"Jason, you have five minutes to get out of the building before it blows." Mark's voice entered the space, causing Jason to break into a run.

"Get the medical supplies ready. Thea is hit." He responded as he watched her face contort with pain every step. "Just hang in there a bit. We're almost there."

She nodded and bit her lip to prevent her from crying out in pain. The five minutes were almost up by the time Jason and Thea made it to the Phoenix. The jet quickly sped away from the explosion, saving them from the fiery inferno.

Thea's vision was blurred when she felt herself be set down on a chair, Jason's voice trying to keep her awake. But before she knew it, her vison blackened from the blood loss and extreme pain causing her to fall unconscious.
