Riddick woke up in the late afternoon to an alert going off. He turned toward Kat, 100%, she was healed completely. Riddick sat up and rubbed his face,

"You must have been tired." Vincent standing in the doorway.

"Yeah, so she is alright?" Riddick asked, Vincent walked over to the pod, Riddick stepped in between the old man and Kat and growled,

"Easy, I was just going to open the pod and let you see her." Vincent explained, Riddick moved and let him open the pod, Riddick looked Kat over, she had faint scarring and the glowing handprint was still there. He touched her face, it was lukewarm,

"You need to finish letting the pod do its job." Vincent softly, Riddick touched her blood matted hair, he stepped away as Vincent shut the door.

"I thought the pod did its job and why is she so cool?" Riddick asked,

"She lost a lot of blood, she was technically dead remember. The pod still has to give her some of her energy back. It will keep her from slipping into a comatose state. The pod is set up for humans, that's the only way it could heal Kat, this process now is giving her synthetic blood, pretty much the vitamins she needs with some iron." Vincent explained.

"So she will need things high in iron." Riddick stated,

"Yes, it will help her gain her energy back. She is restricted to bed and the bathroom. Less moving around the quicker she will regain her energy back. She will try to fight you about the bed rest at first because with all these vitamins she is getting at one time, to her its going to seem like an adrenaline rush." Vincent seriously. Riddick nodded,

"I'll be back." Riddick explained.

"Are you going into town? There is a diet she needs to stick to until she is a lot more stable." Vincent making a list in his notebook, he ripped out the page and gave him the list of foods and medicine to get Kat's immune system back to normal.

"Is there anything I could get for you?" Riddick asked,

"I'm good." Vincent shrugged. Riddick nodded, he got into a low profile, using his contacts and cloak with a hood and left the ship, locking it up tight. He found a herbal store and walked in, he looked around at the small pouches of herbs and read on them to see what they were used for.

"Hello Riddick." the woman of the store giving him a small smile.

"Who…" Riddick being interrupted, he was slowly reaching for one of his shivs,

"There's no need for that, your secrets are safe with me." the woman taking the list from him.

"What?" Riddick confused, he hesitated with his shiv, moving his hand back down to his side,

"You're here because the woman is still healing. You came because Vincent explained these vitamins would help her get back on her feet." the woman explained.

"Will they?" Riddick now knowing she was a seer,

"Yes, though, I have some herbs that will work faster. It will still take about month for her to be back to a 100%, but for your kind of lifestyle it will give her the energy she needs to run with you." the woman explained as she turned to grab a few things from the shelf.

"Do you know who the woman is that I am traveling with?" Riddick asked. The woman smiled kindly, she turned to look at him,

"You didn't lose Jack like you think you did, she has always been with you." the woman explained as she walked to the counter.

"The woman who you travel with is a very special woman. Her identity is not my place to tell you. Give Vincent this, it will help him feel more energized." the woman pointing it out to Riddick as she put it in the bag with the rest of the herbs.

"I know its driving your crazy not knowing what it is about this woman that has you wanting to protect her but you are a man that follows his instincts, you should listen to them now, they will never steer you wrong. Also, you have no reason not to trust Vincent, he is a good man. You will not always have to be on the run, my dear son." the woman placing her hand over his,

"What do you mean by that?" Riddick losing patience with this seer, he removed his hand from underneath hers, he was only taking her words with a grain of salt but he was pissed that he stood in front of another person who knew the woman he had been traveling with but she wouldn't tell him who she was.

"Just take it for what it is." the woman seriously, he paid for the herbs and the woman stuck instructions for the herbs in the bag. He walked out of the store,

"Whack job." Riddick mumbled, he went into a few more stores, getting fresh meats and veggies for Kat, sheets for the beds, and all being paid for with the nifty little creds card that he found in one of the rooms on the ship.

"Almost like a merc just paid everything." Riddick grinning as if he were the cat that ate the canary. He tried forgetting the words from the woman's mouth but a few had stuck in his head;

"She is always with you." the woman's words chanting in his head. It was similar to the last words that Kat had said to him. He was getting a migraine, it was good he had bought some medicine for headaches and was now on his way back to the ship. Once he was back on the ship and locked up tight he went to the kitchen to put everything away. He found instructions on the herbs,

"Trust your instincts." the woman's voice chanting in his head again. He grabbed a beer from the fridge and took the medicine he had bought for a headache.

"I got you some clean clothes and sheets from town." Riddick throwing Vincent the bag,

"You didn't have to do that you know." Vincent explained.

"Those guys didn't seem like they took care of you or let you off the ship for that matter. As soon as you write down instructions on how to work these med pods, I'll drop you off on any planet you wish to be dropped off on." Riddick seriously.

"To be picked up again by those monsters, no thanks, I think I'll take my chances with you." Vincent explained.

"By the way, the manual is in the med bay cabinet." Vincent still holding the bag of stuff Riddick had gotten for him,

"Also, I came across a seer, she said to personally give you these herbs, said that they would give you more energy." Riddick throwing him the bag, he caught the bag with ease. He looked at the bag and back up at Riddick,

"Who was she?" Vincent asked, Riddick shrugged,

"She seemed like a seer, she said these herbs would heal Kat faster than the vitamins but I went ahead and picked up the vitamins as well." Riddick explained as he walked to the kitchen. Vincent followed, he read the names of the herbs,

"These will work better, if you can get her to drink it. They are very strong, potent herbs." Vincent snorted. Riddick gave him a look,

"I'll get them down her throat. Why don't you go hang your new clothes up and trash those other clothes in your closet." Riddick commanded,

"Thanks for these, I very much appreciate it but you really didn't have to." Vincent seriously.

"This was all courtesy of those monsters anyways. I didn't spend a dime." Riddick showing him the card, Vincent took the card and looked at it,

"Perhaps I could do a bit of work and get us a nice payday for nothing." Vincent thinking out loud.

"Meaning?" Riddick turning his head,

"I believe the term is called hacking into the accounts of the other monsters and leaving them penniless." Vincent walking away, Riddick smirked,

"I like the sound of that, just don't lead them back to us Vince!" Riddick bellowed out, he didn't know what was happening to him, why did he suddenly feel responsible for the old man and for Kat? It wasn't like they were some attachment to him, especially the old guy. Riddick shook his head and chalked it up to the old guy being apart of his crew, and he had been helpful in saving Kat. He leaned against the kitchen cabinets, drinking his beer and thinking about what the woman had said.

~She said I wouldn't always have to run. Do I settle down in Fuyra and have a family or does it mean I will give my life up for Kat's? ~ Riddick thought to himself. He had never thought about having a family because he was always on the run, and now that he thought about the idea of settling down in Furya, the only person that came to mind was Kyra.

A kid who had never been afraid of him and who had pretty much worshipped the ground he walked on. But she had been so much younger than him, would she have even wanted him as he now thought of her or would she have thought he was just a dirty old man and never speak to him again? He knew he would never know because she had died in his arms for him.

"Kyra, I loved you, I always will." Riddick mumbled out as he braced himself on the kitchen counter, he couldn't understand why he was letting this so called seer's words eat at him, he should go back to the store and rip her head off for playing on his pain, but that wasn't him, he didn't hurt women or children. He needed something or someone who he could take his frustration out on. He gripped the kitchen countertop, as he stared at the herbs.

Maybe there was a way to bring Kyra back with the help of those herbs and that med pod. Sure Kate had said that Blaise had given up her life for her own but it didn't mean that Kat was Kyra. Riddick knew Kyra, it was the same woman who had sacrificed her life for him, why would a total stranger sacrifice her own life for his? He threw his empty beer bottle away in the trash and went to find Vincent.

"You seem to know a bit about herbs." Riddick leaning against the doorframe of the old man's open door.

"Yes, I was a doctor before having my life turned upside down. Herbs work better than a pill form most of the time, why do you ask?" Vincent turning toward Riddick,

"Is there any way to somehow bring a soul back into a body using herbs and those med pods?" Riddick asked.

"I have never tried something like that. I mean those guys could reanimate without the help of the pods. Their body was somehow designed to reanimate. I would have to do some research on the pod. There are limitations. How well the body has been preserved, how strong the soul is, things like that." Vincent explained. Riddick thought of Kyra and where he had landed the necromonger's ship.

The frozen planet he had escaped to in order to keep his Jack and the holy man safe. He had taken the ship's navigation system apart in case of other people trying to take off with it and locked the ship up tight. No way in and no way out, he had burned all the dead bodies, and had dressed kyra in cargo pants and a spaghetti strap shirt, the clothes that she was a normal human in, the way he wanted to remember her. He had laid her in a bed and pulled the blankets over her as if she were just sleeping.

"Her body should be preserved well. I left her on a ship on a frozen planet. And there is no doubt in my mind that her soul is a strong one, however, she was converted into a necromonger." Riddick explained.

"That does create a problem. In order to retrieve her soul you yourself would have to go to the brink of death in order to go to the underverse. If you could find the portal and find her in the given set time so I could bring you back to your body without any damage being done to your own body." Vincent explained.

"The portal has to be on that ship somewhere. I'll do it, if you can get that machine to work and bring her back." Riddick seriously.

"First I will have to do the research and then I would have to see her body and assess it to see if her soul could be transplanted back in it. You don't want her back if she is going to be in a zombie-like state do you?" Vincent asked. Riddick hesitated to give him an answer.

"It wouldn't be fair to her soul or to you. She would have no idea who you were and you would be in more pain than you are now." Vincent explained.

"She gave her life up because I couldn't protect her. I'll do anything to be given a chance to make it right." Riddick growled out, with that he walked away. Vincent could understand, he saw the turmoil and pain Riddick put himself through. Vincent was surprised really, whoever this girl had been must have been very important to him, enough for the biggest and worst con out there to love her unconditionally. It had made Vincent miss his own wife and daughter. Riddick found himself staring at her again,

"What is it about you that draws me in?" Riddick growled out. When she woke up and got out of that pod he would get his answers. Vincent came in and found Riddick staring at Kat in the pod, Vincent walked over to the other pod and started his note taking. Riddick left Vincent and Kat alone, he went to the ships navigation system and charted the quickest course to the frozen planet. Even if Vincent couldn't put her soul back in her body he still needed to bury her, she deserved the proper burial. He was annoyed because he was bored, and the fact that Kat was in that pod getting better just made him more annoyed and anxious to know why he was acting as if she meant more to him than Kyra. He didn't know this girl, sure he had saved her and they were traveling together but that was it. Why? That's what it came down to. He jerked up and went to find Vincent,

"What kind of herbs do you need in order to bring Kyra back to her body?" Riddick asked.

"Well, I don't know if the pod will work or not just yet." Vincent nervously.

"Just tell me." Riddick seriously, he sighed, he grabbed his notebook and pen and wrote down the herbs.

"These are the ones that will work. If the pod doesn't work there is dark magic that will work but most of the time the person you are trying to bring back will be and has been in the past, zombies. No brain, its why they kill everything in sight, usually only able to put them down with a headshot. You don't want to use black magic on her. Trust me on that." Vincent explained.

Riddick almost growled, he was willing to do anything to bring her back but if he had to kill her himself he couldn't and wouldn't do that, besides she wouldn't even function as a human. On his way to the herb store he wondered if he should try to bring her back to life. Everything that Vincent told him seemed like she would just be a zombie, walking around and not really living. He didn't want to leave her soul in the underverse though, the kid had been through shit her whole life, now she needed and deserved some kind of peace even if it was just her soul.

There was no telling what kind of monsters that she had to run from in the underverse, and he was going to save her soul at least but he was banking on actually bringing breathe back into her whole body; bring her back to life, without being a zombie.
