Chapter 12- The Crime Scene
Hiccup's POV
We get to the Great Hall to find it destroyed. We walk in to see vikings laying on the ground and running around frantically. I look around and spot my dad talking to some vikings. I run over to him, "Dad, what happened?" I ask.
He turns to me, "A dragon attacked us while we were war planning. It took the plans and wounded our men."
I was astonished. "What was it? A Nadder? A Gronkle?" I ask.
Stoick shakes his head, "Way bigger, but most of my concerns are the plans. Nobody can find those."
I nod, "Well if someone saw it we can use the book of dragons to classify it."
Astrid smiles, "Good idea. Stoick, did anyone see the dragon?" He nods and points to... Canine.
"Oh, great," I say under my breath walking over to her. She sat on a box with a helmet over her eyes, crossing her arms.
"Please, Canine, the vikings need our help, and I promise not to tell anyone you helped the vikings," Ceceus pleaded.
She shook her head. "No offence, Cece, but I really don't care if these stupid vikings couldn't keep track of their papers."
Cece sighs. I walk up next to her, she looks at me. "Sorry, I can't get anything out of her."
I smile, putting my hand on her shoulder. "Thanks for trying," I say. Then I turn to Canine. "Ok, Canine, I know you hate us put we really need to know what dragon this is because-"
"Not gonna happen, Beanpole," she says.
Canine's POV-
I sit there listening to the wonderful sound of panicking people, I smile. Ceceus sighs and looks around. She see's Slender handing a baby to its mother, she snaps her fingers and runs over to him. She whispers something into his ear. He nods and walks over to us. "Canine," I hear him say. I lift up the helmet and look at him. "Yeah?" I ask.
"Could you please tell us what the dragon looks like?"
I think for a moment. "Well... It was really big, bigger than Shadow. It was gray with blue claws, horns and the leathery part of its wings. It had something orange and yellow glowing in its chest, glowing orange and yellow eyes, and its tail looked like it was surrounded with blue fire."
Slender writes all of that down. "Does it have tow or four legs?" He asks.
"Three," I say.
"Three?" Cece asks.
"Yeah, it was missing its front left leg," I say.
"Ok," says Hiccup running over to the vault where they kept the Book of Dragons. "It's gone!" Hiccup yells.
"Oh, no!" The vikings start panicking once again. Stoick stands on the table, "Everyone calm down" he says. "All we have to do is track the dragon down."
"How?" asks Bucket, "The darn reptile didn't leave us anything to track him by."
"Yes he did," Cece says crouching by the door. She stands up with something red on her fingers. "It was cut with the wood. There should be a trail of blood, plus it should be dropping some papers."
"Cece, you're a genius!" I shout calling for Shadow. "Shadow is the best blood tracker this side of the world!" The vikings look at me confused. I stare at them blankly, "I mean Midguard." The vikings smile and cheer. "Stop that annoying sound!" I say covering my ears.
Ceceus calls Sapphire and gets on. "Lets move," I say getting on Shadow.
"We're coming with you," says Hiccup. Him and the other trainers were already on their dragons. Before I could say anything Cece smiles and says, "Good! We could use the help."
I glare at her. "Ok, fine," I say. Then we take off to find the dragon responsible.
Next: Chapter 13- A Dangerous (Slightly Annoying) Adventure
"Are we walking in circles?" I ask. Canine turns with an annoyed expression on her face. Then her and Cece stop and glow for a second. "Are you guys ok?" Asks Astrid. They both shake their heads and Cece crosses her arms and frowns, "What's it to ya, blondie?"
