Calypso's Poem (Ogygia)

...

Oh Zeus here my please

Send your winds to help me flee

To leave this place and to be free,

That is all I wish of thee.

...

I feel the breeze flow through my hair,

Knowing you have sent it there.

You feel that I'm still in your care

Though after all these years, isn't that unfair?

...

As the sands of time slide by

I often look up to you and sigh.

I tell myself one happy lie,

that a day will come when you'll let me fly.

...

I'm hurt by your need to keep me here.

And yet it's not for my fate I fear.

But for my heart still pure and clear,

crushed by your puppets, puppeteer

...

I still can't accept my fate

And on my shoulders its a constant weight

But I pray one day you'll forget your hate.

Let me find my own soul mate.

...

Ogygia may be my home

Where Poseidon's waves lap and foam

Against the sands of which I roam

But it's where you've left me. All alone

...
