...hi! This is a rather old analytical assessment of people's perspectives upon Spyro type dragons. It has no real answer, and is just meant to make you think.

Draconic Analysis

These dragons are the standard Western Dragons, which comes in a variety of colors dependant upon their element, the primary elements being Fire, Ice, Earth, and Electricity as juxtaposed to the standard fire breath of traditional Western Dragons.

1) "Humanism" vs "Animalistic" Instinct

We also know that dragons have a strong affinity with nature, however, they appear to be losing that connection within their cities, becoming more "humanized" in their society. Is that a problem? No, yet what people seem to forget is that dragons are not humans; they are something much more, yet something much less. They are still animals, no matter how much that is being masked. Dragons will not form a fist to punch, no, they will scrape with their talons and snap with their jaws, hiss, growl and roar. Why? Because they are still animals. Dragons have higher development and a thought process on par with humans, yet even men fall to their most basic instincts when threatened. Thus, a dragon should react as such. A frightened dragon may act more hostile, or curl into itself, and much like a frightened dog-snap at something that may get too close. Is that an animal? A human may bite an attacker as well if desperate enough. Does that make them an animal? The point is, dragons are emotional creatures with advanced concepts, yet just underneath lies their beastial nature-just like any man or creature. It all just depends on what loosens the chains. Is the man an animal or the animal a man?
