human world

I can hear my brothers steps behind me, I know the three of them are feeling just as nervous as I am But it is me that has to lead them out into the sun.

For all I know I could be leading them to their downfall.

but they're excited and even though I don't approve.. I still have to let them live their new lives... But I'm gonna miss them.

they don't know the sacrifice I've made to give them this, they think the humans have just decided different but the truth is... I've made a deal so my brothers dreams can become reality.

"Leo?" I look round to see my brothers looking at me in confusion, "you ok bro?"

"I will be" I sigh with a weak smile, I climb the ladder and push the manhole cover away. I swing to the side and motion for my brothers to go ahead, they look at me before doing as I said.

"you comin'?" Raph called as the gasps and applause rang out, they had joined the human world and now it was time to pay my part of the bargin.

I lift myself out of the sewers and stand behind my brothers as they grin at the people around them.

"where is Leonardo?" one of the soldiers ask as a stern woman walks up to us. I step out and stand in front of her with my own glare. My brothers look at me in shock as the tears well up in my eyes.

"we have allowed mutants to join us humans. Now you must do as you promised" the woman nods.

"yes mam" I nod, "just let me say goodbye first"

"very well" she nods as I walk back to my brothers.

"Leo?" Donnie frowns worriedly, "what's going on?"

"I-... I've heard you guys talking about how much you hate staying in the sewers and how you'd rather be human... I know how much you guys want to be human.. So I tried to get you the next best thing, I made a deal so you guys would be accepted up here.. You guys deserve to live good lives, better lives." I explain sadly.

"What do they want you to do?" Mikey asks me worriedly, "you'll come back.. Right?"

"I don't know Mikey... They didn't tell me what they needed me for. All I know is that it's going to keep you three safe" I shudder as I think of all the things that could possibly be waiting for me.

"I don't want you to go" Raph mumbles, "I'd rather be stuck in the sewers than lose you"

i pull them close and hold them for a few moments before pulling away.

"bye guys... Just.. Just remember that I love you guys more than anything, I'm gonna miss you" I sniffle a little but I refuse to cry, it'll make me look weak.

"bye Leo" all three of my brothers are sobbing quietly.

i nod to them before walking back to the woman, she looks at me through hard green eyes before motioning for me to follow her.

mike's POV

we never saw our brother again. I have no idea what happened to him but I know, someday I will see him again. The three of us will do whatever it takes to get him back.
