I sit up in my bed and look at the bed across from mine. Raph's blankets are astray and his pillow is acrossed the room. With a heavy sigh I lay back down on the bed and stare at the ceiling thinking. What if I am gay? If I am is telling him worth losing a brother? I doesn't really make a difference does it? We're not going to be human will be back to our turtle selves and it won't matter if I like girls or boys, because i'll never have a shot anyways. I hear the front door close and it interrupts my thoughts.I just lay there and think for who knows how long, until I hear a slight knocking on the door.

"Come in," I mutter out. Apparently they heard me because Donnie comes in with a slight smile on his face. He sits next to me without a word and gently places a hand on my back. I relinquish at the momentarily comfort and lean into his shoulder.

He continues to rub my back until he speaks up, "Are you ready to talk about what happened in the barn. Leo took Raph to the store, so we could talk." I give a slight nod into his shoulder. He gently grabs my shoulders and turns me to face him. I look up into his eyes and I know mine are watering.

Donnie takes a deep breath and starts whatever he is going to say, "Leo and me we," he pauses, "we don't care if you gay we really don't. Raph, you know, he just learned that people could even be gay. He just learned around the wrong people." I grab at my eyes then, I pinch the bridge of my nose.

"I don't even know if i'm gay. Don't get me wrong I think I might be, but how can I know for sure if I've never liked anyone before. Yeah, sure I've always looked at the guys on TV more than the girls, but I always just assumed I was jealous or whatever," I gasp out in a single breathe. Don gives me an almost sad look and runs his hand through my hair.

"Mikey, if you're gay or not it doesn't even matter. Instead of labeling it why don't you just be you. Your Mikey and maybe you don't know if you're gay or, straight, or whatever. Just be Mikey for now," Don encourages. I smile up at him.

"I'd like that ,at least for now,"I say to him. We just sit there for a moment, but the silence isn't bitter it's nice at least in the moment. Donnie is still running his hand up and down my back, when a sarcastic smirk fills his face.

"What is it Donnie,"I giggle out.

"Oh, I was just thinkin about that tall brunette that you had puppy eyes for last night," he laughs. I feel my face turn a bright red. I give a small push to his shoulder and jump up running for the door.

"Catch me if you can old man," I yell out behind me. I here Don jump up in an effort to catch me. I skirt through the house towards the front door. Just as I reach it the damn door flies open and I stub my toe into it.

"Fuck," I yell out. Leo comes through the door with a risen eyebrow.

"Nice to see you too Mikey," Raph bellows out carrying groceries towards the kitchen. I'm still on the floor clutching my foot and Don is still behind me laughing.

For once we actually have a good day. It kind of reminds me of the days back in the sewers. Without a care in the world we continue the day. We joke around and play a few video games. At around ten we decide to go to bed, because whether we like it or not we have to go back to school tomorrow. Raph and I head back to our room and at least to me the air feels thick. I get into bed without a word. I see Raph raise and eyebrow and me as he changes into PJ's and gets into bed. I turn to face the wall and close my eyes. The repetitive sounds of Raph's breathing across the room puts me to sleep, but I can't help but think, is it always going to be like this.

(Time Skip)

I wake up to Raph slamming his hand down on the alarm clock. I groan and roll out of bed hitting the ground with a thud. I sit up against my bed and look up at Raph. He's rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"What are you looking at dork," he snaps. I stand up and peel my shirt off.I walk over to the dresser and pull out a blue button down that reminds me of the one Lyle wore the other night. I grab a pair of dark blue jeans to go with it.

"Nothing too look at bro," I answer to Raph.

"Like you can talk," he laughs out then continues, "Are you planning on showering, because you could use one." I lift my arm up and cringe at the smell.

"Yeah, I could use it," I answer back. I pick my clothes back up and head to the shower. I knock on the clothes door. I think I hear a rustle, but there is no answer to a swing the door open. The door hits the wall with a pop and Donnie and April jump apart.

"Were you two just," I stop when Don puts his finger to his lips.

"Never mind, but I need to shower, so if you too could leave," I say.

"Yeah, just pretend you didn't see that and Mikey I'm sorry about the other day. I still don't like that your friends with Cece, but that doesn't mean you're not family," April goes on.I should have stopped her, but whatever.

"It's fine April. I get it, but I really do need to shower so if you too could just, you know,"I motion for them to leave and they both nod and leave. I take a quick shower, then I head to the kitchen.

"Hey, dork is that hot red head coming over tonight, so you too can practice for you song thing," Raph asks.

"Um, I wasn't planning on it because I'm grounded, but if it's cool with you guys I will," I answer. I look up towards Leo. He pinches his temple and nods.

"Thanks bro," I say while I run up and give him a hug. He grabs me around my neck and gives me a noggie. I wiggle out of his grasp and run towards the bus stop. I pick up my backpack on my way and they follow. The bus ride is pretty average. When we reach the school kids are all still chattering out in front. I see Cece, Lyle, and another boy sitting by a tree. I wave to them and head in that direction. As, I reach there Cece stands up and gives me a hug.

"Hey Mikey. I wanted you to meet Justin. Surprisingly, my only close straight friend. Justin this is Mikey the adorable dork I was telling you about," she says to both me and Justin. He holds his hand out to me and I shake it. He not necessarily tall, but he is taller than me. He has a mop of red hair and hipster glasses on his upturned nose. His dull brown eyes don't draw much attention, but there another delicate feature of his.

"Hey, Cece talks about you all the time. She said Will's new dick of a friend is your older brother too," he greets.

I nod and answer back, "Yeah, he wasn't really like this before we," I pause then continue, "moved here.

"Guess he just made the wrong friends then," Justin says to me. The first warning bell sounds and we all pick up our stuff and head towards the school.

"Hey Cece, want to come to my house tonight to practice for the competition," I ask.

She gives me a weird face and says, "I don't know if I would feel comfortable there. Maybe we could go to my house instead."

I shake my head and respond, "I don't think so, I had to pull my puppy dog eyes to even make Leo consider letting you come over."

"Alright, fine. I'll meet you at the tree, after school," she says with a disappointed tone.

"It's a plan than, boo,"I say teasingly.

She gives me a tap to the back of my "God, you sound so gay right now," She laughs. I give her a pat on the back and we head to our first class.
