He was a huge man, his bulk mostly muscle that had begun to go to seed. His gold teeth glinted in the reflection of the holo-ring he had captured her in, the air filled with the cheers of the fans he so desperately required. He laughed as he sauntered towards her, anticipation almost masking the glimmer of pain in his eyes.

"Always on the losing side, aren't you Nilin? Now, are you gonna fight me or what? It's for the fans!"

(He bumped her shoulder jokingly as he set the controller down, stretching out beside her with a grin, gold teeth glinting in the light of the television.)

Nilin shook her head as her sensen flickered in and out of existence quickly. Did she… know this man? Had they been friends? ("Suck it up, Ulf – if you really wanted such a stupid tattoo you'd have to know it was going to hurt!") If they had, they certainly weren't now.

He attacked her in earnest, his growls of anger as he missed making her head jolt in strange ways. With each blow she landed, she heard his loud laughter reverberating in her head, what appeared to be happy memories mocking her.

Was this to be her life? Tormented by things that had once surely brought her joy?

As she defeated the man she both did and did not know, she vowed once more that she would do all she could to remember.
