Grounded

Arthur sighed as once again, he was grounded. Laying down on his bed, Arthur thought about what had happened.

Arthur had been working on a science project for school. Everything was in place, the chemicals were properly arranged, and the data sheet was nearing completion. Arthur was almost done, when lunchtime was announced. Arthur cleaned up what he could and went down stairs. Lunch consisted of a sub, chips, and a sprite soda. Finishing his lunch, Arthur went back upstairs and finished his project.

Later on, Arthur and Robert were watching Dark Bunny vs. Bionic Bunny, arguing over who would win in the end. Meanwhile, D.W. was playing adventurer, and expected to find something in Arthur's room, to prove that he wasn't human. When she opened the door, she was taken aback at Arthur's science project.

"What is all this stuff?" D.W. wondered. As she got closer, she stretched out her hand, and started to touch the glass containers when,

SMASH! CLANG!

Arthur and Robert shared a look, and dashed upstairs. When they reached Arthur's room, D.W., David, and Jane looked disapprovingly at Arthur. After grounding him for a month, they lectured him about how D.W. could've gotten hurt. After incredulous stares from Robert and Arthur, Arthur proceeded to clean up his room, while the Reads told D.W. to tell them if she saw something weird in Arthur's room again.

Weird? Arthur thought. What did they think I was doing? I was completing a science project.

The next day, Arthur had gone to school without a project, and had failed the assignment. Arthur went straight home after school, and here he was now.

Arthur couldn't help but think that life was constantly against him. D.W. had entered Arthur's room without permission, and she destroyed his science project! Not to mention she could've hurt herself. But no, the Reads looked at Arthur as if he'd done something wrong. Arthur got up and walked to his closet. He pulled out a punching bag, one that Robert had bought him last time he was grounded.

"It'll help you relieve some stress." He had said. Robert was Arthur's adopted brother, adopted into the Read Family when he was two. He was Arthur's age, and the only one in the family that understood Arthur. Both he and Arthur wondered sometimes, why the Reads had decided to have D.W. At first they were happy when their parents announced that they would be getting a baby sister, but when you're four, you see the world through rose-colored glasses. When the Reads announced Kate though, Robert and Arthur were skeptical, to say the least. Fortunately, Kate seemed no where near as bad as D.W. In fact, she was the most peaceful of the Read siblings, and had an odd friendship with animals, especially Pal.

Arthur desperately wished that D.W. knew how annoying she was sometimes, but he knew it would never happened. When she broke his plane, he got grounded for three weeks, and she didn't even sit in a corner! Just on the top of his head, he had been grounded four times this school year already! And each time, she had messed with something he was working on. Arthur sighed, and swung at the punching bag in front of him. He punched it five times, and then he began to feel a little more stress relieved. He probably should have secured his project better, but the problem was, he had no where to put it. Arthur scratched his head and looked around his room. One word crossed his mind as he looked it over.

Makeover.

Three long hours later, Arthur had arranged his room so that a space could be kept for his science projects. The best part was that it was out of reach of D.W. Arthur wished he'd thought about doing that yesterday, but he knew that next time, he'd be prepared.

A/N: Just another one-shot. More Arthur family stories will be coming from me soon. Until next time, R&R!
