Islands in a Sea of Stars
I fear that we shall never see,
A planet's sky, or grass and tree.
To only breathe recycled air,
To have no hope, live in despair.
…
Rock and metal, sea of stars.
Drej and time we can't outlast.
Muscles fall to atrophy,
Through living in low gravity.
…
Gangly forms and thinning limbs,
Sunken eyes and pale skin.
Cut off from sun, left in the night,
Our ships the only source of light.
…
We do not have future to see.
No land of opportunity.
Just in the now, past burned in fire.
Lying low, avoiding ire.
…
And so the galaxy, it slowly turns.
Its many stars, they slowly burn.
Planets spin, comets collide,
And of a home, we are deprived.
…
I fear that we shall never see,
We'll be blind for eternity.
Left in the dark, cut off from light.
We lost our world, we lost the fight.
