Later that evening, the classes at the community college had finished and the halls were nearly empty. The cloud-shaped girl was walking next to her best friends, Celeste and Susie. The first one, Celeste, was a bossy person, making her easily identifiable as the leader of the group. She had dark hair and wore a pink dress. The latter was a cheerful girl with blonde hair tied back in a ponytail. She was also somewhat ingenuous because she always did what Celeste told her to do.
"I can't believe Mordecai is still head over heels for that girl," CJ stated while they walked together, thinking back to the conversation she had heard earlier that day between Margaret and Eileen.
"Just get over him, that guy never valued the great girl you are," Susie said while CJ took some things out from her locker.
"All guys are the same. They like to date more than one girl at once," said Celeste in an apathetic voice as she looked at herself in a compact mirror.
"Not all guys are that way," refuted Sussie.
"I don't know, Mordecai seemed so different from the rest of the guys I've met before," CJ sighed. "I guess I was wrong," she resided as leaned against the wall.
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe it!" They heard a female voice in the distance. The three women turned around and saw Margaret and Eileen in front of the school's bulletin board.
"This is amazing! A scholarship program for Milten University! Ahh!" Margaret shouted excitedly as she took off a document from the board. "How didn't I know about this?" She smiled widely. "All this time I've been looking for a better university and now I found this. It's a great opportunity!"
"You have to fill out an application!" Eileen encouraged her. "Milten has always been your dream school!"
"Yeah, that's what I'm going to do!" Margaret exclaimed happily. "I need a scholarship so bad, I don't think I can afford the costs. The money I saved by working at the coffee shop isn't enough. I mean, Milten is kind of expensive." She looked back at the paper. "Look, these are the requirements." She scanned over the directions carefully. "Wow, it's pretty selective. Only 25 students will be beneficiaries..." her voice faded.
"And why can't you be one of them? You have all the capabilities, Margaret! I'm sure you'll get selected," the mole smiled reassuringly as she placed an encouraging hand on her friend's shoulder.
Margaret stared at the paper with a hopeless look. Milten was a prestigious university and she knew a great amount of students would want to get in. She didn't feel like she could be one of the lucky few to make it. "I don't know..." she sighed. "I think I'm gonna try anyway, though." She looked down at Eileen and handed her the paper. "Are you going to apply to Milten University?"
"Nah, I'm fine. I already sent applications to the universities I'm interested in."
"Oh, okay," Margaret replied. Both friends then walked to the front door, talking about how amazing it would be for Margaret to get into that university.
Once they had left, CJ and her friends approached the bulletin board and observed it, trying to figure out what the other two girls were looking at.
"What is this?" the cloud-shaped girl wondered, pointing to a paper. "Milten University? Where's that?"
"Milten. It's a good university, but it's out of state." Susie commented as she got closer to the board. "One of my cousins works there," she added.
CJ raised an eyebrow. "So Margaret wants to apply for Milten University?"
"To be honest I never liked that girl," Celeste said, joining in on the conversation. "She was Angel's girlfriend some time ago. I really liked him... It would be great if she just... leaves."
The girls stared at her.
"Wait! I think I have the best idea ever!" Celeste suddenly exclaimed with a smirk spreading across her face.
"What?" CJ and Susie asked in unison.
She looked straight at CJ. "Would you like to have Mordecai back?"
The cloud girl was caught off guard, so she stuttered a little in her response. "W-Why are you bringing up th-?"
"Just answer the question," her friend demanded.
"I-I don't know. We haven't talked since the incident in the coffee shop. Besides, we were never more than just friends." She looked up at her. "But... what do you have in mind?"
"I have the perfect plan to make that girl leave this place forever..."
CJ and Susie exchanged confused looks. They didn't understand a single word of what Celeste was suggesting.
"Ugh, just follow me. I'll explain later," the domineering girl gestured as she led the group away from the bulletin board.
