Jack's POV:

The minute the door opened, I saw my beautiful best friend, Kim Crawford, standing right in front of me. She was wearing a wool, dark blue, soft long-sleeved shirt, tight black skinny jeans that ended about 7 inches from her ankle , and dark blue converse. Around her neck, she had an infinity scarf that was gray. Her hair was curled to perfection, and her make-up was done perfectly. She was the most gorgeous girl in the whole world.

"Wow! Kim, you look...amazing!" I stated. Kim blushed as she looked down at her clothing choices.

"Thank you. You look very nice too." Being a gentleman, I reached my hand out for hers to grab. She giggled and wrapped her soft, petite hand in my strong, firm one. She took a step out, turned her head to look back into her house.

"Bye Daddy!" she said with a beautiful smile.

"Bye, Pumpkin! Have a good time...but not too good," he stated with a wink. Kim laughed.

"Oh, Daddy! We won't! Love you!"

"Love you too!" And with that, Mr. Crawford closed the door behind us.

"Shall we go?" I asked her.

"Stop being so polite..." Kim replied with a laugh. I laughed along with her. "Yes. We shall go."

Kim's POV:

The walk to wherever we were going was perfect. The sun was still in the air, but setting very quickly. The side roads were all quiet as we walked. It was a very silent walk. WE were just enjoying our time together, with only our hands latched. We neared the corner where a park stood. In the distance, I could see a small picnic set up under a tree. I smiled.

"Oh my god! You didn't" I said, shocked.

"I think I did," Jack replied. I let go of Jack's hand and ran over, with Jack running after me. When I reached the little set-up, I stood and looked at the colorful blanket that was layed out. A brown picnic basket sat on the far left corner. I felt a strong pair of arms hook around my waist as I stared at the beautiful arrangement. I set my hands on his. I felt soft lips plant on my temple, I smiled at the feeling. When he finished kissing my head, I turned around and smiled.

"This is amazing!" I stated with a smile.

"And now it is even more amazing with you here," he said sweetly. I smiled even more.

"Thank you!"

"You are welcome! Would you like something to eat?"

"Yes please! I'm starving!" I yelled. He laughed at this.

"You are always hungry, Kim!" I laughed even harder. He let go of my waist, and moved to the basket. He sat down, and I did the same right across from him. He opened the basket and started taking things out. He took out 2 sandwiches, a fruit dish, a plate of cookies, some Dr. Pepper, plastic silverware, plates, napkins, cups, and three fake candles. I gasped. He set them on the grass and turned them on. I smiled as I thought about how perfect this was going to be. Next, he grabbed his iphone out of his pocket, connected it to a speaker that he also had in the basket, and turned on some soft, beautiful music.

"Jack! This is amazing! I could never have asked for a better best friend! Thank you," I stated.

"You are more than welcome, Kim! You deserve the best, because you are amazing!"

"Thank you! So are you."

"But not as amazing as you!" I blushed at that comment. What did I do to deserve all of this? This was absolutely perfect! We each grabbed a plate, placed a sandwich on it with two cookies, some fruit, and a cup of Dr. Pepper. We ate in silence, just looking in each other's eyes. When we were done eating, we threw away our trash and packed the blanket, stereo, and candles.

"Can I show you something?" Jack asked.

"Of course!" I stated. Jack grabbed my hand, with the hand that wasn't holding the basket. We walked to the other side of the park where a hill stood.

"Come on. I want to show you something absolutely amazing." I smiled at him. We started to walk up the hill. The whole time, I was wondering what he wanted to show. As we started to walk over the top, the sunset came into view. The red, orange, yellow colors seeped through the short-cut grass. We walked a few more feet to the very top, and sat down on the grass facing the sunset.

"Wow! Jack, this is beautiful!" I smiled at him. His gorgeous brown eyes looked deep into mine. He smiled back with his perfect, straight, pearl white teeth. Our eyes were interlocked for a few minutes. Everything was completely silent. Our hands were still latched together as we both tilted our heads, closed our eyes, and leaned in. I didn't remember what happened after that, except the feeling of his soft lips on mine. This wasn't a rushed kiss, this was a calm, peaceful, slow kiss. After a few seconds, we pulled apart, our smiles evident on our face.

"You are gorgeous, Kim," Jack stated. I could feel my cheeks burn up.

"Thank you," I replied. He smiled and nodded. Before I could say anything else, his lips were back on mine in a blissful kiss. I don't know how I became so happy to meet Jack, but I do know that he will lie in my heart forever.
