Kalos Requiem

The sun started gliding up toward her. It touched down upon the floor, before reaching the bed's edge. Even further up, the rays glided. They met dark skin soon after; the fingers of a teenage girl. Even further up, the rays would reveal her bit by bit. Her face was complacent and content, as if unhindered by everything around her. She was resting pleasantly, like a little girl after a long day of play.

But once that sun met her face, the teenage girl grimaced. She grumbled as well, before those eyes opened, revealing chocolate-colored irises. Her vision blurred, she allowed a long and loose yawn to escape her mouth. Though, to be honest, it was loud enough to be mistaken for a howl. She was a healthy young thing, strong too. But of course she was; this was Serena Y, the Champion of Kalos. Or Ex-Champion, it all depends on who you ask.

She almost went back to resting, before her eyes grew wide with shock. Launching up from the bed, Serena glared left and right. Where was she, and how did she get here? Where was here? What time was it? Was she still in Yveltal's mind? Was she back in Kalos? Did Kalos even exist anymore? Wait. Was she in a hospital?

Serena stared around the room, taking in the various sights presented to her. Everything was here; the window, the table, the heart monitor. She was dressed in hospital garbs, and was tightly fastened into the bed. But, oddly enough, there wasn't a chain keeping her to the bed. Yeah, if Serena was in a hospital room, she expected to be chain to it. After all, she is Kalos' Most Wanted.

But Serena wasn't chain to the bed. She was actually free. And, beyond all, there was this woman resting on a chair near her. Despite their differences in skin complexion, the two were virtually identical. Mother and child, obviously enough. Serena found her eyes quivering at the sight of her mother. She tried to fight back the tears growing beneath her eyes, but it didn't work. Just seeing her mother was enough to make Serena cry.

Was it all over? Was Yveltal defeated? Serena didn't know. Last she remembered was falling toward the heavens, as the sky drew her close. She and thousands of others whose souls were snatched away by the Destruction Pokémon, were all released from him at the same point. Combine that with the way the sun shined with such beauty through the window, it made Serena realize something. Yveltal was gone.

"M-M-Mom!" Serena cried.

Grace was startled to consciousness by the call. She at first thought it was her own mind, playing savage tricks on her. After all, she had spent so long without the sound of her daughter's voice in her ears. Her blue eyes stared over to the bed before her, where she saw a teenage girl with eyes threatening to spill tears. When Grace saw her, she felt like all her emotions were about to break as well.

"S-Serena?" she asked, making the teenager nod.

"Mom..." Serena cried, "M-M-om!"

The Ex-Champion was silenced when arms wrapped around her. Placed near her mother's bosom, Serena had a hug she was denied for so long. Her body was still weak, but she hugged back as best she could. After all the running, all the death and destruction, all the pain, it was nice to be loved again.

"I... I love you Mommy..." Serena said.

"I love you too, Serena..." Grace answered.

When the sun rose over the horizon, it revealed a land of pure destruction. And yet, there was no sadness, no grief. Sure, the people and Pokémon who were left behind now had to rebuild, but that was a small price to pay for what they were given. When Yveltal attacked Anistar and Shalour, many lives were lost. When Yveltal attacked Lumiose, there wasn't even one fatality.

Maybe Xerneas was beaming down upon the city or Arceus itself. Heck, maybe even God Himself decided to take pity upon them.. How else would Yveltal have possibly failed? The Destruction Pokémon, not killing anyone? Some godlike being had to spin the wheels of fate to turn things over for them. That's the only way they'd survive like this, the only way they'd survive Yveltal's wrath. Because another legendary being, godlike or otherwise, was smiling down upon them.

All around the city ruins, one could hear calls of joy and relief, 'I found him!' or, 'She's right here!', or even, 'They're all okay! Every one of them!' There wasn't pain or strife, no sadness no grief, only happiness, joy, life. What was once a night of horrible terror and destruction, gave way to a wonderful morning of safety and life. If one were to stand upon Lumiose' massive destroyed walls, they wouldn't see death. Instead, they would see life. Nothing but it.

Everyone on the streets were helping one another, human and Pokémon alike. It was a union that was often written about in mythology books, but it was happening before his very eyes. The redhead who had seen and felt so much pain in his life, couldn't understand their pleasure to help one another. The way they callously tossed away their own feelings to help others, friends and foes alike, it was something he may never understand.

Silver just wanted to understand. He only helped himself and his friends, never others. The weak die, the strong survive. A horrible thought indeed, even he knew this. But that's how he was raised. These thoughts were shattered however, when he met her. He still clung to them, these thoughts of weak and strong, but they were never as strong since his first run in with her. From the beginning, he labeled her as weak. A stupid Johto girl, how could she ever become something? But as time went on, she grew to be more powerful than he could ever imagine. From some country hick, to the Champion of the entire region.

And what about him? If she were strong and he was weak, shouldn't he have been thrown away like yesterday's trash? Instead, she took pity on him. Every other day, she'd pop up during one of her many adventures. She would check up on him, and try to break that hardened visage he had on eternally. Silver hated her for that. A part of him wished to be alone and separate from her, as to do the things he wished to do. But she simply wouldn't allow that. She was like an itch that would never go away.

And yet, he couldn't help but to love her for that. If she didn't care for him, who else would? In this world, Silver had only two things to say truly cared for him. His Pokémon, and Lyra. But after this little journey through the region of Kalos, he could say someone else now cared for him. And her name was Shauna.

"Silver? Are you okay?"

He glided his hands through his red hair, whilst groaning. Shauna was kinda cool, though very annoying. Honestly, if he had to choose between she and Lyra, he'd probably kill himself trying to save both. Or at least Lyra first.

"Yeah, Shauna, I'm fine," he groaned, "Gotta killer headache though... I seriously can't wait to get back home to Johto..." he stuffed his hands into his pockets, then walked off to the city streets, "Let's stop wasting time around here. We've got people to help..."

"Yeah, you're right," she laughed and giggled, whilst walking up to his person, "Hey... Silver... Where do you think Lyra's at? Do... do you think she dealt with Yveltal? Do you think he'll come back?"

"If I know Lyra, and that is true, she's done what she needed to do..." he looked up to the heavens, "Now she's just showing off..."

"Hey chintzy!" Calem yelled, "I need your help! Give me a hand over here, will ya?"

"Annoying twit..." Silver grumbled, "Let's go Feraligatr..."

"Gattoooor!"

"So Yvonne was Serena the whole time, huh?"

"Don't give me that, Sycamore... you already knew, didn't you?"

"Well..."

His building was luckily spared the destruction that befell the rest of the city. All of his works lied within the halls of the building, unhindered by the carnage that echoed outside just some hours ago. He stood with his hands behind his back, ready to help those in need. His home, his lab, had now become a haven for those dispatched by the destruction within the city of Lumiose. Only his chamber was blocked off from the rest, giving him some alone time with a certain Elite Four member.

"Nice wine by the way, Sycamore," Malva stated with a curt lip, as she glared up to him, "Trying to take advantage of me?"

"I wouldn't dream of it," he answered, whilst staring back at her, "I really can't get over the fact that you, of all people, decided to help Serena out in her time of need. You gave her the clothing, changed up her hair, gave her a new identity and everything. Quite a lot to do for your hated enemy, huh?"

"I'm not going to lie to you when I say this," Malva stated as she took yet another sip of her wine, "And you better not repeat this to anyone. Xerosic was right, when we were in the cave..." she crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair, "I was... sorta... kinda... scared of the Yveltal attacks. I knew if it was allowed to continue, everyone in Kalos, including me, would die. I'm pretty strong, but not strong enough to clash with a Legendary Pokémon. I knew if I had Serena on my side, Yveltal would be... tolerable... if anyone could defeat it, it would be the person who tamed it..." yet another sip of her wine, "Strange how she was behind it all..."

"It wasn't Serena who was behind it all," Sycamore claimed as he sat down in his own chair, "Like a puppet on strings, Serena was only a tool used by Yveltal. It was in control the entire time, not Serena..." he closed his eyes and furrowed his brows, "This time, it was the Pokémon, who was the Trainer..."

"And whose to say it won't happen again, hm?" Malva inquired, "Whose to say some other Legendary Pokémon: Rayquaza, or Mewtwo for instance, possibly even Giratina, won't do the same thing? Use one of us unsuspecting humans to power themselves, to attempt universal destruction?"

"If that happens... It's nice to know we have heroes like Serena, or Lyra, or even you, to help us defeat them?"

"Like me?" Malva asked with a smile, her visor flickering in various ways, "Yes, like me. Just hope that if it does happen again, our ideals fall on the same side Sycamore. I may be your ally this time, but that may not hold true in the future, you know..." she shook her empty wine glass, making him stand, "More please?"

"It would be my pleasure," Sycamore chuckled.

Bellow and outside, the women of Team Flare were standing and roaming upon rooftops, helping those injured. But this time, they did so without the visors that hid their identities. Beneath, Aliana, Bryony, Celosia, Mable; they were all such pretty women. Their eyes only insinuated this. They were being watched over by two young teenagers, a boy and a girl.

"Oh close your mouth Dexio," Sina berated, "It's sickening just looking at you."

"Hey Miss, are you okay?"

She ran her fingers through her long blonde hair, spilling it out over the back of her seat. Fortunately, even though she was a patient here, she didn't have her hair cut. She spent years growing this hair out, and would not have it be shaved out.

Her hands in her lap, she sighed out to the heavens above. The horrible grip of darkness that clung so hard to her body was no longer there. Her sense of aura also revealed something even greater. The demonic red aura the plagued the heavens was gone as well, never to return. Hopefully.

"I'm fine, Emma," the Gym Leader said as she flashed the teenager a smile, "I'm fine..."

"I was just sort of worrying for you, Korrina," Emma said with a smile, "I mean, you've been silent for quite some time, unlike everyone else!"

This unlikely duo sat within the lounging area of the hospital. Emma, trekked about in the hospital garbs, while coils sat on on her forehead, wrist, around her legs, and some other places. She was smiling pleasantly, making the Gym Leader of Shalour City smile. Emma was a recent transfer from another hospital. The two didn't know that Yveltal's attack on Lumiose city claimed Emma's life first.

"I'm happy to see the region's back to normal," Emma claimed with a bright smile, "Can't you see? Mimi's happy too! She's been excited by the thought of returning home..." she sat down near Korrina, taking the seat directly before the Gym Leader, "What about you, Korrina? I bet you can't wait to go home."

Yeah. Go home. It was easy for Emma to say that. Korrina didn't really have a place to go home too. Shalour was gone, the Gym, the Tower of Mastery, the people, her grandfather. She was alone in this world now. Emma must have noticed Korrina's growing sadness, for she gripped the Gym Leader's hand. Squeezing it slightly, she let out a childish giggle that lifted Korrina's hearts.

"It's gonna be better now!" Emma claimed, "I promise!"

Korrina smiled.

"Pinky promise?"

"Yeah! Pinky promise!"

The two stretched out their pinkies, and intertwined them in a childish fashion. Emma was laughing, and that made Korrina laugh too. Honestly it was the first laugh she had sense this mess started entirely. It felt good to laugh again.

And there was much to laugh about. Yveltal was gone, and with it, all the carnage that plagued the land. If there was ever a time to laugh and be jovial, it was now. Emma and Korrina were ready to head back home, even if their homes were just a bunch of rubble, right now. At least they were alive; how many people could say that?

Through the window, a man stared upon them. His hand sat on his chin, his usual thinking pose. He stared at Emma, feeling his heart shake and shimmer. The teenager was just as lively now as she was when they last met. He watched her beloved Espurr clung to her shoulders, making her laugh and giggle. It too made him laugh. She was healthy and so much stronger than how he last left her. It made him shake, seeing her like this. Was this the kind of love a father would feel for his daughter? He did not know.

But he couldn't sit here forever. The thought of talking to her did cross his mind, but her sight alone was good enough for him. Turning around, the international detective walked off. Emma gazed up to the window, seeing the sight of his retreating image. By this point in time however, he became virtually indistinguishable from anyone else. Still, his sight, or the mere thought of him, made her grow slightly melancholic.

"Looker?" she called out to him.

"What was that, Emma?" Korrina asked.

She looked back to the Gym Leader, then back to the window. She stood, as if to see if it was really him, but shook her head. The chances of it being Looker were relatively low; he could be anywhere by now. It was better to shrug it off as nothing, than to be embarrassed if it wasn't him.

"Oh, it's nothing Korrina," Emma claimed as she smiled again, "So, are you going to rebuild your Gym when we go back?"

The dripping within the distance was so extremely eerie. If she were to compare it to places she's been, she'd akin it to Mt. Moon, or perhaps Silver Mountain, maybe the insides of the Whirl Island caves. It was dark, though the morning sun did peer through the holes within the ceiling, giving her some light.

The Trainer in the red and blue overalls, flicked her flashlight on in order to get a better view of the surrounding area. Her eyes eventually lined an entrance that appeared to be a natural doorway. Normally, there was a man who guarded this place. Wherever he was, she did not care. The Champion of Johto continued walking, entering the doorway without a second thought.

The deeper she roamed, the more drowned out that eerie dripping became. Instead, it was replaced by breathing. Low, heavy, hard breathing. As if something great was heading her way, or she was heading its way. She tried to shrug it off like it was nothing, but of course that didn't work. Besides, she already knew what the creature was that caused the sound.

She came to a stop, now standing before an elevated platform. The light in this room was powerful, giving her a good view of everything around. She saw it, resting there in place. Its slit eyes dark and devoid of life, as well as the rest of its titanic body. Any normal human being would have been sent running for the hills from this creature, but she simply was not normal. Instead of running, this teenager sat down before the monster; legs criss-crossed in that generic Indian style.

She said nothing at first, instead finding solace within this silence. When her hand rose however, the being before her seemingly came to life. Its dark eyes became as white as lights, while its scaly body flickered and flashed like a machine. Once again, a normal human being would be running for his or her life. But not this girl, no, no, not her.

"Zygarde..." Lyra called, as the being gazed down upon her, "Zygarde... we need to talk..."

The Order Pokémon roared to the heavens, shaking the land around her. A call like that could actually trigger a cave-in, yet it didn't. Yet Lyra remained despondent and composed throughout it all, as if it were a Meowth who called, not a legendary Pokémon.

"Lyra Soul..." Zygarde finally answered, retaking that voice she had never heard before, "Why have you come here?"

"I want to understand you, Zygarde," Lyra answered, "When you came, it was like a hammer. You somehow was able to put Yveltal in its place. I can tell. You didn't raise one finger, yet you could have. You could have easily destroyed Yveltal at any point in time..." her eyes settled into a glare upon the Pokémon, "Why didn't you? Why did you wait for Yveltal's destruction to become widespread and colossal? Why did you allow Yveltal to kill so many people, and to ruin so many lives? Why did you let Yveltal hurt Serena like that?"

"I am Order..." Zygarde claimed without hesitation, "I am Order. I. Am. Order. My job is not to care for the humans of Kalos, but to keep Order. Honestly, the humans of Kalos have long since gained my ire. They ruin and destroy the land with their machine's and technology. It angers me so. My job is to guard the region's ecosystem, however. And for the first few times, Yveltal had not passed that boundary of destruction."

"What?" Lyra retorted in shock.

"When Yveltal killed every one of Shalour, it had not tipped the boundary. When Yveltal killed everyone in Anistar, it had not yet tipped the balance in Destruction's favor. When Yveltal killed everyone in Lumiose, it had not yet crossed the line..."

"How can you say that!?" Lyra asked as she leaped to her feet, "That's horrible! So many people and Pokémon were killed, and you're going to say Yveltal didn't cross the line! Then when did it cross the line, Zygarde!? What death was the final tipping point in triggering your awakening!?"

Zygarde's eyes flared, as Lyra stood before it. The stance made her fret a tad bit, but not enough to make her step back.

"It was your death, Lyra," Zygarde claimed, as it slid a few feet forward, "Your death on Route 14 was the death that caused me to spring into action. I realized from the point in time that Yveltal must be stopped."

"My death on Route 14?" Lyra repeated in shock, "But... but I didn't die on Route... 14...?" her eyes widened as she realized that, yes, she had in fact died on Route 14. When Yveltal descended upon the forest and used its powerful red blast, she was killed in that attack. Then how did she wake up moments later, completely fine? "If I died then... how? How am I still here?"

"Lugia..." Zygarde answered.

"Lugia?" Lyra repeated, unsure, "That's how Lugia got here so fast. Lugia wasn't so far off..."

Lyra shook her head as she smiled. Lugia and her were connected by Silver Souls, it would seem.

"Why was it my death that triggered your actions?" Lyra asked next, "Why couldn't it be someone else? There's... more to this than you're letting on, Zygarde."

"When Yveltal killed and destroyed the citizens of Kalos, it was Kalos' problem," Zygarde's eyes flared, "But when Yveltal killed you, it was no longer just Kalos' problem. You're death made it Johto's problem as well. And I simply could not allow that to continue. Immediately after your death, I realized Yveltal's destruction was not going to remain in Kalos, but in all regions. So I acted..."

"Zygarde, I can't believe you," Lyra stated, "You sat and watched Yveltal's destruction of Kalos, and you did nothing to stop it. Why? Aren't Legendary Pokémon supposed to protect and help people? Human and Pokémon alike?"

"No..." Zygarde stated, "My job as the Order Pokémon is to protect and maintain Kalos' ecosystem. Whenever the ecosystem is ruined, I shall deal with the problem. Yveltal did not push the edge, until your death. I sprang into action immediately after. You should be pleased I acted when I did. If not, Yveltal could kill ten-thousand more people, before the order was finally tipped into Destruction's favor," his eyes started to dimmer, as it returned to rest, "You're a hero, Lyra. In your sacrifice, Kalos was saved."

Zygarde became silent. Lyra yelled at it, punched it, kicked it, but this did nothing to reawaken the Order Pokémon. In fact, it just served to hurt her hands and feet. She gave up trying to get any more answers from Zygarde; he gave her all she could ever ask for, anyway. She underestimated Zygarde. Lyra thought it was a heroic Legendary Pokémon, if not a scary one. But this simply was not the case. Zygarde had no attachments to good nor evil. It's job is not to be a hero, or a villain. Zygarde's job is to maintain balance, between the natural, and unnatural, forces that plague the region of Kalos. And it does this with deadly efficiency.

Lyra turned around and started heading for the exit, planning to return to Lumiose. She had been gone for a while, so it would be nice to see everyone again. Especially Silver. She's noticed how Shauna has been unusually clingy to the redhead, and that simply did not fly with her. Not in the least bit.

And, yeah, the thought of catching Zygarde did cross her mind.

"It was deranged, yes..." Sycamore claimed, as he sat down in his chair, "But everyone seems to have... forgiven her..." he shook his head, "It's as if Serena never descended down, and killed anyone..." he looked back up, "Why is that?"

"I can't say myself," Officer Jenny claimed, as she stood beside the Professor, "Really, I can't... I... I just remember being chained in an eternal darkness, unable to move or even think. And in this darkness, Serena came to me, glowing gold like the yellow sun. She grabbed the chains and unhinged them," she smiled and looked over to the Pokémon Professor, "It's like she saved me from that pit. It's like Serena saved me from Yveltal..."

Sycamore had no idea what the super cop was talking about, though it intrigued him greatly. What was this chain and world Officer Jenny spoke of? After talking with many other people, he learned they referenced the same thing. A world of darkness, with chains running through their bodies. Where was it that Yveltal took them, when its Oblivion Wing fell? It made Sycamore wonder.

Though now was not the time to do such a thing. He stood within the Kalos Grand Hall, which was situated at the Pokémon League itself. During the Yveltal attacks, it had become a safe haven for those dispatched by the Destruction Pokémon. Now, it was playing host to something else. Sycamore stood behind a simple desk, Officer Jenny beside her, while a growing crowd had amassed. Gym Leaders and Elite Four members alike were here, along with anyone else who held some sort of authority within the region of Kalos.

Maybe now wasn't the time. It was only a few days since they started working after Yveltal's attack, but it was better now than never. And, being the very powerful man he was, the Pokémon Professor was able to set up yet another one of these things. A grand festival was what everyone needed to fill everyone with life. After the death and destruction, the callous way Yveltal treated everyone, it was nice to see people smile.

And it was thanks to their heroes. Side by side, Tierno, Trevor, Shauna, Calem, Silver, and Lyra. For the Kalosians, this was a memory they had already lived through, but for Silver and Lyra, it was amazing. Silver never had people cheer for him, never had people see him as a hero. This was so new for him. Even for Lyra, this was different. When she was made Champion of Johto, she got a crowning ceremony, but it wasn't anything great. This was so amazing, like Christmas and her Birthday and even Graduation crashed in and became one at one time.

And it was all for this. This ribbon, with a medal at the end. The Honor of Kalos. For Silver, this was amazing. Holding a medal like this was so awe-inspiring. If he was the same punk from before, maybe he would use that medal to affirm his superiority. And yeah, he probably was still going to do such a thing later on, but he enjoyed the ribbon for something completely different. As if he had proven something. Lyra, on the other hand, was just busy gushing at the shine of her new medal. This quest into Kalos truly proved to be an outstanding one.

"Hey! Serena!" Grace called, "The ceremony is going on!"

The Reinstated Kalos Champion walked from the staircase, a large yawn on her face. She wore her pajamas, as she had just awoken from a long night's rest. She rubbed her shoulders as she stepped down the stairs, while the family Fletchling landed upon her shoulder. Serena smiled at her mother, whilst brushing her black hair from her face. The matriarch was in the kitchen as usual, cooking up breakfast for her beloved daughter.

Serena herself was slightly disturbed at the fast level of forgiveness the people of Kalos handed her. Sure, she wasn't about to look a gift Rapidash in the mouth, but it was weird. Maybe the gods were gazing upon her, that's all she could get from this. But, as stated earlier, Serena wasn't about to look a gift Rapidash in the mouth.

She sat down on the living room couch, her eyes sliding over to her coveted satchel. She gazed out the window toward their front lawn soon after, where a smile crept upon her lips. Outside were the many Pokémon that saw her through this crisis. Her Ampharos, Vergice, serenaded her allies. Her Rhyperior, Terrus, was sitting beside the family Rhydon. On his shoulder, Serena's Sylveon, Stevie, sat. Her talon flame, Turnice, stood perched on the home's concrete fence, and last was Terios. The Lucario, who had battled so much since this all began, was happy to simply get some rest. He sat near the concrete fence as well, his arms crossed, and face silent. All he wished for was some sleep, which was hard to get with Vergice's terrible singing skills.

A smile spread on Serena's lips, as she watched her Pokémon enjoy their freedom. When she was on the run, they were the last Pokémon she had with her at the time. They had seen many battles since then and now, all to keep Serena's safety. This was a hard earned rest for them, a rest she would not deny. The only one whose rest was denied was...

"Del!"

"Oh, Ignis, I must thank you for your help!" Grace claimed.

The tall and mystical Fox Pokémon walked into the room, carrying the plates this family was going to eat for breakfast. Being Serena's first Pokémon, she expected him to fight through his exhaustion. Maybe it was wrong to overwork him, but Serena knew Ignis didn't mind. He really wasn't like a Pokémon, but instead a best friend.

"Del, del! Phox!" he claimed, which of course, no one understood.

He sat down beside Serena, handing her and her mother the plates he had taken from the kitchen. The Champion smiled as she held the plate, and beamed even more when he ran his fingers through her hair.

"I didn't really need to go," Serena claimed, as she gazed back to the television screen. Lyra was busy shaking Silver for some odd reason, "I mean. I already have one, I don't really need too..." slowly, she grew slightly depressed, "Besides, I don't really think I deserve one..."

"Oh, don't give me that," Grace said, as she pulled her daughter close to her chest, "Serena. You did everything you could have done. So what if a giant demonic bird decided to go postal on most of the city?" she hugged Serena even closer now, "Je vous dois revenir. C'est tout ce qui compte."

"Je t'aime, maman," Serena claimed.

Je t'aime aussi, Serena," Grace replied.

After some time here, time Silver had lost track of, it was nice to hear they were going back home. Johto had never sounded so good, in all honesty. If only there was another way to get there instead of these demonic planes.

The redhead grooved his fingers in on the seat, as he grumbled in apprehension. It was going to be a long flight, one he was going to sleep through. Hopefully, of course. Hey, at the very least, Professor Sycamore paid the full price for them to have a private jet home, much like how they got here. It wasn't half, but there was one problem. It was a plane.

"Sweet Ho-Oh I hate these things..." Silver claimed, as he grumbled to himself, "They're worse their death itself..."

"Oh Silver," a voice said, making his eyes widen. It wasn't Lyra's voice, "You shouldn't say such things!"

How the hell did she get in here!? Silver glared to his right, the side opposite of him. On the other end of the private plane's small alley, was a short teenage girl. Despite her small and admittedly cute frame, she was actually older than him. Maybe by a year or two. Seeing the brunette nearly made Silver puke from shock.

"SHAUNA!" he cried out, "What the hell are you doing here!?"

"Should you be saying such words?" Shauna asked, as she leaped up from her seat.

"No, seriously!" Silver cried, "Why are you here!?"

"Remember when I said I was going to a far-off region?" she asked, whilst sitting in a chair much closer to him, "That far-off region I was talking about was Johto!"

"No! NO!" he shouted, "You're lying! LYING!" the plane began moving, "NO!"

Silver slammed his fists on the window, trying to signal anyone in the airport outside. There was no way he was about to suffer in Johto alone. But it seems that his calls fell upon death ears, for no one was listening to him.

The green glades of the grassy knoll were blown in ridges thanks to the wind. From her stance on this hillside, Serena watched as the plane slowly began to move off. With the plane was Silver and Lyra. They were leaving now, returning home to Johto. There was still a lot of issues Kalos needed help with, now that the calamity had passed. As the Champion, Serena knew it was her job to keep things in balance. Besides, she felt it was time to win back the trust of her people. It was going to be really hard to do so, but she could do it.

"Hey Serena!" a bubbly voice called from behind.

The Kalos Champion grew wide-eyed, and turned around to see, her. There she was Lyra Soul, standing on this hillside with her. Serena was shocked by her appearance; was the Johto Champion not on that very plan, flying off toward home? Instead, here she was, smiling like the sun was behind her.

"L-Lyra?" Serena said, stunned, "What are you doing here?"

"Ain't it obvious?" she asked, while Cynder walked up behind her, "I'm staying in Kalos for a while!"

"Why's that?" Serena asked, still in her shocked state, "I... I thought you were going on that plane?"

"Eh, I gave my ticket to Shauna. She said she was supposed to go to Johto before, but the Yveltal attacked stopped that," then Lyra giggled, "Besides, I think it's obvious she and Silver like each other! He seems to not be able to free himself of her, after all!"

Lyra's laughter made Serena's fretful nature melt away. Though she did not understand why her Johto counterpart decided to stay, she wasn't about to argue against it.

"Besides," Lyra said, after her laughter died out, "Kalos is in pretty bad shape, and I know you don't really feel too good after the attacks," walking up to Serena's side, she placed her hands on her hips, "Together! We'll rebuild Kalos! You, the Kalos Champion, and me, the Johto Champion! Besides, us girls gotta stick together, right?"

"R-right..." Serena replied, as she stared off to Silver's leaving plane, "Us girls gotta stick together..."

Maybe that 'Silver Soul' of Lyra's had a powerful effect, even out of the spiritual realm. Serena felt hopeful about the future, a feeling she hadn't had in quite some times. It made her smile. Kalos may be in horrible disrepair after the attacks, but not for so long. With time comes healing; after all, time heals all.

Xerneas...

Bit by bit, rocks kept falling. The threat of a cave in was extremely real. Yet this man walked through it. He stepped deeper and deeper inside, pushing rocks and boulders alike out of his way. Within his hands, a device. A very old, very dusty one, but it worked. There was a beeping that echoed off into the distance. He started walking toward it.

Within this 'cave', there were many dead and discarded trees. Even the bodies of Pokémon who were unfortunate enough to be caught by the massive wave, were lying within this cavern. His flashlight illuminated the surrounding area, allowing him to see deeper inside. But once the cone of his light touched down upon the color grey, he stopped.

This portly man stepped back, as he lined his flashlight along the hull of the grey object before her. It was pulsating, shaking, as if it were alive. There were red flashes coming from the bottom and the top, though they were extremely subdued. Almost unnoticeable. This man smiled, but he wasn't excited yet. He needed to make sure that this was what he searched for.

His flashlight flared to life the giant letter 'Y'. Xerosic smiled.

And so it is done. 27 Chapters, and over 140k words later, I can finally close the door on Yveltal Rising. It was a fun ride, and an extremely long one. Well, long for me. I started writing this in March, and am now just finishing it. That's, like 2-3 months of writing! That's the longest it's ever taken me to write a story, even though this isn't even my longest one. I blame it on the many other stories I was writing during this time, but I digress.

I suppose I should begin by saying thanks. Thanks to my favoriters and followers, who stuck through this story until now. Thanks to TheDivines, the Red King, thefluffyone93, Davin134, and BlackRitual, specifically, because they reviewed my story, and more than once. If I had to write everyone's name up here, it would take me forever. I believe. Seriously though, I love reviews, they keep me going and writing. If I don't get reviews, I'm liable to just stop writing, honestly.

So, here we go. The last Maverick Talks section for this story. You ready?

This story wasn't supposed to exist. What do I mean by that? Well, when I started writing this story, I only had the thought of Yveltal destroying things. It's the Destruction Pokemon, after all. Why shouldn't it destroy and kill with reckless abandonment? My idea for this story ran off that thought, and that thought alone. The mere image of Yveltal killing was what made me write the first chapter. When I wrote the first chapter, I never thought I'd get this deep in it, honestly. I never thought it would catch on as soon, and as quickly as it did, so that made me write more and more. So, as one may suspect, I didn't really have a beta version of this story. I just started writing, and that's that. Things just sorta came in my head, bit by bit, because of it.

If you're wondering why Lyra and Silver are in this story, the answer's pretty simple. Ya'see, after Shadows from Before, I figured I should start writing stories like this more. By that I mean, have a story that brings along two heroines from their respective games, and sorta pit them against one another. In Shadows from Before, it was Leaf and Dawn. In this story, its Lyra and Serena. The only difference; this story has a whole lot less lesbian subtext.

Originally, I was going to have Mewtwo in this story. Lyra was going to team up with Mewtwo to use Mega Evolution, instead of Armatura, her Scizor. This was going to happen in a massive battle between Lyra and Serena at Lumiose, while Yveltal destroyed everything around them. The reason why that version didn't come out, was simply because I couldn't make it happen. Yeah, I just couldn't get Lyra and Serena in a fight, while Yveltal was destroying stuff, with Mewtwo and Serena's Lucario, Terios.

Speaking of Mewtwo, I was going to have it that he and Lyra knew each other. In fact, it was because of Lyra that Mewtwo is in Kalos in the first place. She ran him off to Kalos because she would constantly bother him while he's at the Cerulean cave. So, there's some of that for you.

Honestly, I don't know if I can really say anything else. I don't have a massively different version of events between this story, and the one in my head, other than the whole Mewtwo thing. I can say, however, that this story turned out wonderfully for me. I wanted to write about Gen 6, especially after I had beaten the game, and I think I did a good job at it. No, I know I did a good job at it! Yet a part of me feels as if this story could still be better. I don't know, maybe it's just my writing senses.

By the by, here's some of the French that appeared in this chapter.

I have you back. That's all that matters. - Je vous dois revenir. C'est tout ce qui compte.

I love you, mom. - Je t'aime, maman.

I love you too, Serena - Je t'aime aussi, Serena.

Just so ya'know, all this French comes from Google Translate. If its wrong, my bad. It's just translate's fault.

So here's something. I play around with this RP, called The Legendary Guardians. It's a Pokemon RP, right here on the sight. If you go there, I assure you I'll be there. Food for thought, my friends. Food for thought. And by the by, I am a Moderator on that forum, so yeah. Just search it up on the website, it should come up. Jeeze, makes me sound like an add promoter. Oh well.

And last thing, sorry for the cliffhanger. I just can't help myself, sometimes.

Farewell you all. I've had fun writing this, and I hope you all had fun reading this. See you around sometime! God bless!

For the last time, this is Maverick Kay Prime, signing out.

I wanna be, the very best. That no one ever was...
