Warning: Underage drinking, drug use, and mild profanity ahead.

Caitlin lived for these kinds of parties.

The ones with the pop music playing in all directions. The ones with the cute, college boys. (But they weren't boys. They were much more sophisticated.) The ones with the really good drinks. (She would never get drunk. She'd get a little buzz, though.) The ones where she could show up in a fancy party dress and red-bottomed shoes and nobody would look at her funny because that's what most of the other girls were wearing.

Now she had another set of friends to go to these with.

Nikki wouldn't like these kinds of events anyway. She would just make fun of the teens getting high on the tennis court. Jen would have freaked out at such a thing and wonder where their parents were or if they even cared that their kids were smoking weed in someone's backyard. Jude probably would have been getting high with them. (Everyone figured out he was a happy stoner sooner or later.) Jonesy probably would try to fit in amongst the sophisticated college guys (which would not end well). Sydni probably would have been freaked out by a drunk college guy trying to hit on her. Wyatt would hate the music. (Lana Del Rey, Charli XCX, and Natalia Kills weren't his thing.)

Tricia was never those things at a party and never hated those things. Sure, Caitlin would never get high, but she and Tricia would bond over a nice martini. She and Tricia bonded again. Tricia wouldn't let Caitlin go home alone. They would catch a cab together and ride around until they sobered up. (Until Tricia sobered up.) Their days were no longer spent giving one another mean glances. Their nights were spent in good fun.

Their nights were spent in ways the gang never knew.

A/N: This is what happens when you keep Lana Del Rey on repeat and have a great book in mind (Afterparty by Ann Redisch Stampler). I'd like to thank breakages for being such a sweetheart in her review for "Everything Is Everything." More Caitlin fics coming soon, I hope!

Also, I may be writing a spin-off of "You're (Not) the One" based around Caitlin. Check out my profile for the summary/details. I hope I get the plotline worked out soon.
