Beca sat in her home office wearing a navy blue pants suit as she waited for Chloe to finish getting ready. And of course, her boobs were in place just like three years ago before going to Addie's Charity Gala. She was nervous no doubt in that. It had been three years since she met her redhead and it had been the best three years of her life. She had managed to forgive her father for being a deadbeat but decided that it was best that they went separate ways. Sheila had given birth to a beautiful baby girl that following fall and named her Anastasia. Beca had taken the role of an older sister seriously considering that in the Posen residence, she was the youngest. Chloe had moved in with Beca about two months after those two weeks and Stacie did the same with Aubrey. Everything was going great for all four of them, well, until Aubrey decided to pop the question a year later.
"Beca, I'm going to do it." Aubrey said out loud as she paced the smaller brunette's living room.
"Bree, what are you talking about?" Beca stopped reading the paperwork in front of her and looked up to see if she could get any hint of what her best friend was talking about.
"I'm going to do it. I'm going to ask her to marry me." The minute she said it, she stopped pacing. She looked at Beca and smiled. "I'm going to ask Stacie to marry me." She whispered as if she was accepting the reality.
"And she'll say yes" Beca whispered back as she stood up from the couch and walked over to Aubrey putting her hands on her shoulders. "And then, it'll only be Chloe and I left."
"And then Chloe will say yes"
"And life won't be so bad."
"We're going to be okay"
"Yes, we are"
Beca smiled as she remembered the planning for the perfect ring and the perfect time. She knew it would be nothing less than perfect because well, Aubrey Posen managed to make everything perfect. Aubrey and Stacie had planned for a spring wedding and have been happily married for a year now. Stacie became head of the dance department at Titanium Records while Chloe went on to record her first album and received her first role in the movie department. Beca kept producing music and Aubrey was still a badass lawyer, even though, they were debating who would carry the first child between herself and Stacie. But anyways, right now, Beca wasn't thinking about what was going to happen to her best friend, and her wife, she was freaking out that there was any possibility of Chloe saying no.
"Bree, what if she says no?"
"Beca! Breath! What are you talking about?"
"What if Chloe says no to marrying me? What if she finds someone better? What if..."
"What if you find a happily ever after with her? Look, Beca, I had this talk with Chloe three years ago. I told her the same thing and look at how far you've both come! You can't tell me it isn't meant to be. I mean, your voices combine perfectly together. She's the complete opposite of you and you somehow manage to make it work! You can't tell me you guys lack in the bedroom department, I've heard more than enough for my life time. She loves kids just as much as you do. She loves music and she doesn't make you sit through an entire movie of RomCom unless you are getting something out of it. Do you really want me to tell you how your face lights up every time something reminds you of her? Beca, I know you are dense but seriously, you can't tell me she'll say no. Not after everything we went through to find the perfect princess cut diamond..." Aubrey finished her rant, not noticing that Beca was dead silent. "Beca?"
"Huh? Y-yeah, I'm still here, I was just, thinking?"
"About?"
"How I can't wait to make you my maid of honor" Beca teased, letting Aubrey know that she was ready.
"I see you're more confident now" Aubrey joked right back, after years of being friends, they've learned when to keep each other on their toes and when to encourage each other.
"Stacie! Help me!"
"What's wrong now?" Stacie asked as she walked into Chloe and Beca's bedroom.
"I don't know what to wear!" Chloe whined as she threw more clothes on the bed.
"Okay Chlo, tell me what's really bothering you because you only do this whole 'I don't know what to wear' drama when you're really nervous."
"I...I think she's going to ask..."
"And that's a good thing, Chloe. She wants to spend the rest of her life with you. She wants you to be the mother of her children. She wants you to grow old next to her. She wants you since the first day you met, even when you didn't kiss her on the lips. She wants you, Chloe. And it's okay."
Chloe stayed silent as Stacie finished her monologue. The redhead had started playing with her thumbs and fidgeting with them. She took a deep breath and wiped away a stray tear, she looked up at Stacie with a reassuring smile and a small nod. Stacie returned the small nod and stood up walking towards her best friend's walk in closet. She came back out with a baby blue cocktail dress off the shoulder and picked up some navy blue pumps.
"Wear this, the off the shoulder will expose your neck and chest more while keeping it classy. The baby blue will bring out your baby blues and the pumps will contrast enough and give you legs for days. Trust me, there's no way you'll both come out of that different dry." Stacie added with a wink and smirk causing the not so nervous redhead to giggle at the idea of the effect she had on the tiny brunette.
"This is why we are best friends." Chloe smiled.
"Hey, you were there for me, why wouldn't I be here for you?" Stacie smiled at her best friend before ushering her to get ready. She couldn't believe it, let alone admit it out loud that they had found their happily ever after. All that was left was the grand gesture Beca would do to ask the love of her life to spend the rest of her life with her.
It was a nice and calm May evening in Los Angeles. Beca sat in her office taking deep breaths as she went over her single note card that simply read, "Take a deep breath, look at her crystal clear baby blues and remember why you fell in love. Then ask her." This life changing moment was summarized into two sentences but it would change two lives instead of one. This time around it wasn't for a kiss, or a smile or a hug. No, this time it was forever. And Beca Mitchell wouldn't want anything less than just that with Chloe Beale. There was a knock on the door bringing Beca back to the present.
"Come in" Beca replied as she saw her best friend appear in the door frame.
"It's time." Aubrey replied as she gave the tiny brunette a warm small and a small nod. Beca returned the smile and got up from her desk tucking the single flash card into her pocket.
"Let's get this show going then" Beca replied as more of an encouraging comment for herself instead of an understanding statement for Bree.
Both girls walked down the small hallway to find a beautiful redhead standing in a baby blue cocktail off the shoulder dress that emphasized her curves in ways no human knew possible. Her bright red curls cascaded down her shoulders and down her back despite being pulled towards the back on her left side.
"Wow." Beca breathed as she took in the sight in front of her. "I've only had my breath taken away once, and this has to be it. Because...wow. You're just so beautiful." Beca finished as she walked over to her redhead.
"Thanks Becs, you're just as stunning in that outfit, even if I did prefer the white one instead." Chloe winked, knowing that she was a goner when it came to perky breast and pants suits.
"Are you ready to go?" Beca asked, trying to avoid the sexual chemistry that was already starting to build within their personal bubble.
"Yes, lets go." Chloe whispered back.
The girls grabbed their belongings and headed out for the evening. Taking the first step to a new beginning.
Beca's driver had taken them to a fancy restaurant for the evening. They had the back private room set up for two. Chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, burgers and fries where placed in front of them causing Chloe to give her small brunette an odd look.
"Well, go ahead. Take a bite" Beca encouraged her redhead, "I promise you won't regret it Chlo."
Despite being a bit suspicious of what the tiny brunette was up to, Chloe took a bite of the burger in front of her and simultaneously let out a moan.
"I'll take that as it's just as good as the first time you tried them?" Beca smirked taking a bite of her own burger in front of her.
"I can't believe we are having burgers again just like that first week." Chloe smiled lovingly at the small brunette as she extended her hand across the table to place it on Beca's cheek, "you are amazing, do you know that?"
brca smiled shyly and replied without missing a beat, "Yes, everyone knows how amazing I am but I am the only one with the ultimate pleasure to know how amazing you are." Beca replied looking into Chloe clear blue orbs, the same ones she fell in love with. There was a comfortable silence that settled between the girls as they finished eating their burgers moving onto the chocolate covered strawberries, which were a personal favorite to a certain redhead.
"I love you" Chloe whispered as if she spoke any louder the small brunette would disappear into thin air and she would wake up and realize it was a dream.
"I love you too, Chlo" Beca replied moving closer and placing a kiss on the redhead'a cheek. "Are you finished eating? I want to take you somewhere." Beca showed nothing but passion in the request she had just made. Despite the butterflies that had invaded her stomach and the knot it her throat. In that moment, all Beca could think of was asking Chloe the one question that would change their lives.
"Yeah, let's get out of here" Chloe smiled reassuringly.
The girls left the restraint and shared laughs as they reminisced over the last three years they had spent together.
"I will never forget the night of the opening of my club though! Well at least what happened back at the condo." Beca tried not to laugh at the memory of a stunned Addison Montgomery.
"What are you talking about? The fact that you were already so whipped and you were trying to give Jake crap or the part where I managed to leave you and Addie speechless?" Chloe smirked remember the events of the night like it was only yesterday.
"I am not whipped!" Beca whined "Jake just loves being an ass about it. Badass DJ Titanium B is not whipped."
"Then it's a good thing I fell in love with both the Badass DJ and Beca Mitchell." Chloe smiled as she tried capturing the brunette's lips but missing.
"Sorry babe, I don't kiss on the lips" Beca smirked knowing that the smack on the arm wasn't far off.
"Fine, suit yourself" Chloe whispered seductively into the brunette's ear sending a chill down her spine.
Beca cleared her throat and did an awkward cough before saying, "Hey look at that we're here. But, I have to blindfold you first." Beca looked a bit skeptical but none the les brought out a bite tie from her pocket. Chloe looked at it with a raised eyebrow but gave a small smile and nodded moving closer to Beca and turning away with her eyes closed.
Beca helped the redhead out the car letting her know when to lift her foot so she wouldn't trip and held into her hand and guided her through the night.
"Why did the ground get soft all of a sudden?" Chloe questioned, making Beca realize it was best to remove the redhead's heels.
"Is that better?" Beca asked as she kept guiding the redhead forward.
"Are we at the beach?" Chloe asked taking I the sensation of the sand surrounding her toes.
"We're almost there" Beca assured avoiding the redhead's question completely. Beca guided the redhead to stand in one spot and left her standing there.
"Beca, where did you go?"
"Hold on, give me a minute." Beca replied as she put the finishing touches around her. "Okay, take the blindfold off" Beca spoke as she was on one knee in front of the redhead. Chloe removed the tie slowly as she kept her eyes closed. As she opened them she found that she was standing inside a huge Rose petal heart with her brunette kneeling infront of her.
"Chloe Elise Beale, the first time I met you, you couldn't kiss on the lips. You didn't kiss on the lips. But, the first time I kissed your lips, something changed inside me. Your bright red hair cascading down your shoulders became my favorite hair do. Your crystal clear baby blues became the escape I need from reality. Your smile managed to light up the darkness that surrounded my life. Your hugs managed to make me feel safe after being deprived that security since I was twelve. I fell in love more and more everytime I heard you laugh. And as for your voice, it became my favorite melody and song to hear on repeat. But your lips. Your lips, managed to light a fire that I thought was forever extinguished. Chloe, you brought me back to life and now, I want to make you a part of my life. These past three years, you've shown me what we are capable of as individuals but after tonight, I hope you will let me show you how amazing we can be together, as a family. So, Chloe Elise Beale, will you marry me?" Beca finished as she pulled out the princess cut diamond ring.
There was a silence. A deadly silence that let every doubt start climbing back up as she saw a couple of tears escape from her beloved redhead.
"Yes." Chloe whispered as she smiled a small intimate but happy smile.
"Yes?" Beca couldn't help keeping the excitement from her voice especially as Chloe gave her a small smile and another yes.
Beca stood up and took the beautiful redhead into her arms twirling her in the air. Chloe buried her face into the brunette's neck as she placed small kisses on her neck. Beca pulled away and placed the beautiful ring on Chloe's finger. Chloe admired the ring on her finger and looked up at the awestruck look on her fiancé's face.
"Well," Chloe started adding a signature smirk as she asked, "Are you going to kiss me or not?" Beca's face broke into a huge grin as she took Chloe into her arms, dipping her down like the night at her opening.
"I love you, Chloe Beale-Mitchell" Beca whispered as she captured Chloe's lips in a passionate filled kiss. Letting every emotion pour out into that single kiss like it was the first time. But this time, it was the first one of a new beginning.
