Personal Space, Dam It!: Part Nine

Nico's POV

I stared at the boy in front of me as we took sips of our drink. Our afternoon was spent sneaking out of camp and going to Starbucks. Because why not?

"I swear one of these days, Chiron will find out." I muttered, using the straw attached to my cup to stir the remnants of my drink. Percy chuckled and nudged my foot. "At least we get to be together when we're punished." He said. I rolled my eyes but my lips slowly curved upwards to form a shy smile. "I like it when you smile." Percy placed his cup down and leaned on the palm of his hand as he placed his arm on the table. I looked down at the table, embarrassed and flattered. "Oh?" I mumbled.

"Yeah. I also like the way your cheeks get red when I compliment you."

I look up to see a grin on his face. I chuckled and nudged hit foot. "Shut up." I said. Gods, I was getting worse by the second. I cursed myself. I can't contain the inner fangirl in me, as Jason said in one of our conversations this one time. I feel like a girl blushing every dam time Percy looks at me with his love-crazed eyes and every time he points out something I do.

"Well, it's true." He laughed. I rolled my eyes and buried my face in my hands. The door made a ding sound as another customer made their way in. "Yes I would like a– Nico!" the customer shouted. Confused, I looked up immediately and saw Jason. "Jason?" I sat up straighter and lifted an eyebrow. The girl behind the counter intervened and Jason turned back to order his drink. Once gotten, he turned and pulled a chair to sit with us. "So, how are things with the both of you?" He waved his cup at us.

I opened my mouth to say something simple like "we're good" or "getting along" but noooo. Percy had to answer for me. "I'm dating the most amazing person ever and I'm not letting him go. Ever." To add an effect, he sighed dreamily and slumped forward, leaning more onto his hand. I blushed and looked at my cup of coffee. Jason laughed and crossed his legs. "Glad to hear about the newlywed couple." He grinned.

My eyes widened and I glared at him. "We're not–"

"Wouldn't you like that babe? Nico Jackson. Sounds perfect." My boyfriend smirked lazily. The blush spreading in my cheeks reddened as I stared at him. Jason did the manliest thing ever. He cooed. "Oh hun, I'm printing the news on shirts and handing them out to random strangers on the street." The blonde chuckled.

I stared from Percy to Jason in disbelief. "How you're not gay I have no idea." I shook my head and drank my coffee. The two boys across me laughed. The door dinged again but I didn't acknowledge it. Not until I heard the voice. "Nico bæ! How are you doing?" Anubis greeted from a couple feet. Some people looked our way and some ignored us. He sat beside me and greeted the others. "Didn't expect to find you here." He said, looking at me.

"Knowing you, you probably did." I grumbled. He laughed and leaned back on his chair. "So how's the whole," he waved his hand between me and Percy, "thing?" he asked. I looked at Percy to find him glaring daggers at Anubis. He caught me staring and frowned for a fraction of a second before glaring back at the god beside me.

"They're together." Jason answered.

"Really? That's a relief." Anubis sighed.

Percy ceased his eyebrows and looked between us. Anubis sensed this and he turned to me. "You didn't tell him?" He mocked surprise. I shook my head and crossed my arms. The raven-haired teen grabbed my cup of coffee and drank from it. Jason stared at us amused while Percy only glared at him. "Tell me what?" He said, voice low and steady. Anubis raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Oh, you know," he drawled, "that Nico has a great mouth and tongue." He narrowed his eyes and smirked mischievously at Percy.

I punched him non-so-lightly on the arm. Jason gaped with his jaw dropping. Percy's glare heightened tenfold and if looks could kill, it wouldn't matter that Anubis is a god. He'd be disintegrated the moment Percy laid his eyes on him. "Excuse me?" he growled.

"Oh, and the way he licks cream." The god turned to me and grinned. I brought my hand up and gave him the finger. I jumped when Jason slapped the table harshly. "I knew it! Definitely called it." He yelled. Strangers told him to shut up and others looked at us weirdly. "Sit your ass back down, Grace." I hissed and Jason complied. "And we did no such thing!" I narrowed my eyes at Anubis. The god of funerals laughed and shook his head.

"Mind explaining what he said?" Percy turned to me and raised an eyebrow. He was mad yet I could see the jealousy in his eyes. I would be lying if I said I didn't like the fire in his eyes.

"Gladly!" Jason intervened and clasped both his hands together. "Hold on," Anubis raised a hand, "we didn't do anything. I was clearly talking about the ice cream we ate." He smiled at Percy. "So don't get your panties in a twist. He's innocent and untouched." Anubis waved his hand and drank from my cup again.

"He won't be for long." Percy muttered. I looked at him in shock while my blood rushed to my face. Jason laughed and clamped a hand on Anubis's shoulder. "I like you." He chuckled. Anubis shrugged his shoulders and crossed his legs. "Who doesn't?" He said. In reply, Percy raised his hand. "At first." He said. Once the god settled the cup of coffee, I moved it away from him. "Get your own coffee. This is mine." I said, glaring at Anubis. The boy smiled and this time, grabbed Jason's cup. To my surprise, the roman allowed him.

"Nahh. Walking up to the counter takes energy. I'm in no mood to do something like that." He said.

"Take mine. I'm full." Jason said, pushing the cup towards the brunette. I raised an eyebrow at him. I looked at Percy to see him staring curiously at the act as well. Anubis furrowed his eyebrows suspiciously before shrugging. "Thanks dude." He brought the cup to his lips to take a sip.

A smile made its way on my lips as I leaned back on my chair. "Do I sense chemistry here?" I grinned wickedly. To my amusement, Anubis almost spat the coffee when he placed the cup down. "I don't know what you're talking about." He said, prodding my arm. Percy laughed and jabbed a thumb at Jason's direction. "He's single, FYI." He said. I chuckled. The blonde hit Percy on the arm and sighed. "Thanks for broadcasting my relationship status." He groaned. "No problem. Who said you can't try men? Worked great for me and I'm keeping him." Percy's eyes traveled to mine. I chuckled and smiled.

"Couldn't have said it better myself." I said.

"How's the Annabeth girl?" Anubis asked, suddenly concerned. "She's fine. Turns out she's into his.. Uhhh.." I looked at Jason grimly. He nodded. "ex-girlfriend." I pointed at Jason.

Said teen crossed his arms and looked at the table. "We're still friends though." He shrugged his shoulders. "That's good." Anubis said, looking down on the table as well. The day ended with us chatting the whole day through 'til nighttime before dinner. We separated ways; Anubis back to his apartment and Jason tagging with him since Camp Jupiter is a long way ahead. I shadow-traveled Percy and I back to Camp Half-Blood to avoid suspicion. Although I'm sure Chiron might know by this time. Every night I creep into Percy's cabin to hang-out with him.

Cough well okay, we do more than hang-out but you get the point.
