It didn't take Xatu and Alakazam much effort to lift us to the sky, or at least if it did they faked energy fairly well. The clouds weren't as squishy as I thought they would be, in fact they almost felt like the ground.

Requaza was a big, green, snake and he was very upset. "What are you doing here? Nobody is aloud up here!"

"Requaza, hear us out!" I pleaded but he was building energy in his mouth. Squirt yelled something and pushed me out of the way taking the full brunt of the attack.

"Leave this place! This is your doing isn't it!" He prepared another attack.

"Linda, he won't listen to reason!"

I looked up. The meteor would be close at any minute. "Keep him busy! If the meteor can get his attention then maybe he'll listen." Char and I avoided the next attack.

Char unleashed powerful flames from his mouth, more powerful than when he was a charmander.

Requaza laughed and smacked him with his tail. "Fools! You cannot defeat me with such a puny attack."

"Requaza! Please listen to me! Look up. Just look up!"

"Do you think me a fool?" He prepared an attack but it was interrupted by a quake. "What is the meaning of this?"

"Look up!" I demanded and looked up at the meteor, now so close I could touch it. "Requaza you have to destroy it! Otherwise everyone will die, including you!"

Everything seemed to click with him. "You do realize if I do that you may die right?"

"I do…" It was a lie but I said it with such certainty I thought it was the truth.

Requaza prepared the attack, all his energy, all his might, everything went into this one attack. I did the one thing I knew I could do in this situation. I closed my eyes.

I was the first to wake up. The last thing I remembered was Requaza preparing to destroy the meteor.

Slowly my team woke up too. "What happened?"

"Are we dead?" Char looked at his hands. This made everyone laugh and gather around.

Xatu, who was behind us, approached me. "You did it. The world is saved." He said, almost like a secret.

Everyone cheered and stampeded to get to Squirt, Char, and Me. Slowly they pushed me to the back behind them. I couldn't help but laugh at Squirt's awkwardness to the fame and Char's big ego was getting bigger by the minute.

"Enjoy it while it lasts." I turned to a faint Gardivoir. She clapped her hands. "You did it and I thank you. Everything is as it should be." I couldn't feel my feet suddenly. I looked down and saw they were see-through. "It is starting. Say good bye."

I felt the tears fall from my eyes onto my cheek.

Char went to wave me over but stopped when our eyes met. "Linda?"

Everyone turned to look at me, their confused looks in their eyes made the tears spill out faster and bigger. "I'm so sorry everyone."

"What's going on?" Lombre demanded.

"She is going home." Alakazam chimed.

Squirt and Char pushed their way to me. "Going home? This is your home."

"I can't be here."

"A human can't be a Pokémon suddenly." Gengar explained. "She was never a Pokémon to begin with." His eyes were glazed again. He was just as sad as I was.

I gave him a hug but when I did my vines turned into hands for a moment. "I'm gonna miss you." I told him.

He sniffed and whispered as he hugged back, "If you tell anyone I cried I'll kill you!"

I laughed. "Yeah, right."

Team ACT approached me and saluted me with a fist over their heart. Without even having to think about it I did the same thing. They had a look of awe on their faces.

"So this is what a human looks like." Alakazam's voice wasn't smooth it was cracked.

"I will share your story with the world." Absol said when I hugged him.

Lastly I turned to my friends. They were sobbing. "Come on, Char, that isn't manly." I tried my hand at a joke.

"Shut up!" He hugged me tightly. Behind me Squirt gave me a hug. I put my arms around both of them. I no longer could see my hands. "I love you two. I love you so much."

"We love you two." It was the last thing I heard before I disappeared into the sky.

"You have such great friends." Gardivoir said as we watched them disappear from the sky. "Linda, thank you. You have saved us all."

I woke up under a tree. Charizard was curled around me and Blastoise was, as usual, up before the sun was rising. The forest was calm. Too calm.

"Always remember me." I heard a faint voice say.

Was all of this just a dream? No. It felt too real to be a dream.
