Disclaimer: I do not own The Tomorrow People. The CW does. Thanks for reading. Thank you for all your reviews and guest reviews. I just read this fic again recently and was pissed that I didn't continue it because the show got cancelled. I'm picking it up again because I really miss Jostrid. Anyway, I just decided to write this to get it off my chest. If anyone is still reading this I really appreciate it and it's just really sad that this show wasn't given the shot it deserved. I believed it would've garnered a lot more in ratings if it was given a chance and a lot of people were already into Jostrid and more would have followed. I mean you could just look at the youtube hits that John and Astrid got for their first kiss and the proof is right there. They should have had Astrid in each episode and have her be with John a lot more. We fortunately would have had more Jostrid scenes and the ratings would've gone up each and each episode and it could've been more of a slow burn. Enjoy!

John was stunned but he never let go of Astrid's hand, knowing that he would hurt her feelings if he had done so. The truth was he couldn't think of anyone better to have his powers, but at the same time, he felt like he was an open book now.

He squeezed her hand more tightly and said, "I'm sorry that you have to hear and see what I've seen. It's not a great place to be exactly. In my head."

"John," she said softly, "I want to give you back your powers. If there is some way I could give them back to you. Jed probably has a way."

"Is that really what you want?" John asked her.

"They were never mine to begin with. Besides I feel like I'm invading your privacy."

"In a way you are," John said, chuckling, "but not intentionally."

They walked to Astrid's house and stopped in front of her door. "If you see anything that you want to discuss you can ask me and I'll explain it as best as I can."

Astrid nodded, and was so overcome by a feeling of lust that she had to turn away from him.

"What's wrong?" John asked, not knowing what she was experiencing.

"I feel the same way," Astrid said, smiling bashfully at him. John bit his lip and blushed.

"I hoped you would," John said, grinning like a child that was given a third scoop of ice cream.

It was time John thought. He had to kiss her right now or he would regret it. He couldn't stop looking at her lips and her nose was so cute, and he loved her curly hair. If she ever straightened her hair he would protest. He leaned in and she leaned in and his heart beat frantically against his ribcage. Suddenly they heard the door open. Astrid's father stood there, with his arms crossed. His face was dour.

"Astrid?"

"Hi, dad," Astrid said lowly, casting an ashamed look in John's direction. He had his head down in embarrassment.

"Dad, this is John." Astrid's father stuck out a hand to which John shook, thinking the man might squeeze it, but it was just firm with no hint of malice.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Finch."

"Same here."

"I'll see you tomorrow, John," she said, and headed inside. Mr. Finch nodded at John and he began to walk away, feeling like he had just been told the world was going to end.

"Who's John?" Mr. Finch asked his daughter.

"He's my…" Astrid didn't want to put a label on it.

"Because it looked to me like he was more than a friend," Mr. Finch said sternly.

"Daddy," Astrid said, blushing profusely.

"What happened to Stephen?" Mr. Finch said. "I thought you liked him."

"Daddy, I'm not discussing this with you," she said, unable to look at her father. "Yes he's a bit crazy, but you two were always close. He's decent and smart."

"Dad, he doesn't feel that way about me and I'm over it. I like John."

"Where did you even meet this John?"

"It's complicated." Astrid said.

Mr. Finch looked at his daughter. "You know that if he ever hurt you, I will kill him," he said softly.

"I know," Astrid said, heading for the stairway.

"How old is he anyway?" Mr. Finch asked.

Astrid started heading up the stairs, acting like she hadn't her father, but he shouted the question now.

"He's 27," she said lowly, hoping he hadn't heard.

"I'm definitely going to kill him," Mr. Finch yelled as Astrid shut the door.

She could hear her father's thoughts as he came up the stairs quickly.

Where in the hell did my darling find this this man? Why doesn't she just date Stephen? He may be schizophrenic but he's her age. This man is taking advantage of my daughter. Why is my daughter doing this to me? I just don't want her to get hurt.

She opened the door and saw her dad.

"He's a lot older than you."

"But you're older than mom," Astrid said. "I know not by a lot but.."

"But what?" her dad asked.

"I really like him."

Mr. Finch let out a frustrated sigh but looking at his daughter's face, he knew at that moment, he couldn't stop her.

"Okay, but if he-'''

"I know," she said, "but I'll probably kill him first before you do."

Mr. Finch laughed and hugged his daughter.

That night as Astrid closed her eyes, she saw a young boy who she presumed to be John. He was reading a comic book when it was suddenly taken from his hands.

"Hey, give that back," John shouted at an older boy.

"What will you give me for it?" the older boy asked.

John laughed. "Like I have anything to give."

"Don'tbe a smartass," the older boy said, beginning to rip the pages of the comic book.

"Stop," John said, "or I"ll."

"You'll what," the boy said, holding up the cover.

"It's not my fault you can't read," John said. John knew the older boy couldn't read. He had been observing him as he pretended to read. "I could teach you," John offered.

"Don't talk about things you don't know about," the older boy said, punching John in the stomach. He fell to the floor, wheezing and clutching his stomach. Astrid had seen it as you would watch a trailer for a movie and then everything went black. She opened her eyes.

The next day, Astrid was feeling sleepy in Chemistry class. Stephen sat next to her telepathically talking to her.

You know how John came to save you?

What? Why are you bringing that up?

I told him to look after you while I was gone

Gee thanks dad

I'm just saying that-

What you want me to thank you for sending him when you were the reason I needed saving in the first place?

If you weren't so curious in the first place none of this would've happened.

Forgive me for being a worried friend.

John is just taking advantage of you.

Look who is talking about taking advantage?

"Mr. Jameson what do we get if ?"

Stephen stared blankly at the teacher when Astrid telepathically sent him the answer.

Astrid had to endure Stephen bringing up John in every class until last period when she had finally had enough.

What's your problem with John? Do you want him is that it? You got some man crush on him or something?"

Stephen shook his head and he couldn't articulate what the problem was.

What cat got your tongue now?

What happened to us, Astrid?

I guess we're drifting apart,Astrid concluded, It was bound to happen

No come on don't say that

Astrid turned to look at him and saw that his lip was trembling.

I need you in my life. I would go crazy without you.

I thought we already established that you were.

Stephen smiled at her. I really want to hug you right now.

Hey, we haven't hugged since like eighth grade. Besides everyone would look at us oddly if we just hugged.

Astrid, we will always be odd no matter what,

Fine we'll hug outside.

Astrid heard a classmate's thought behind her and she laughed. Stephen looked at her oddly.

"It's Katie. She wishes I was absent so she could sit next to you," Astrid whispered.

Stephen turned red and said lowly, "At least she's got good taste."

Astrid shook her head and rolled her eyes.

The bell rang and they headed outside. Astrid squinted her eyes as she noticed a gaggle of girls.

She pointed it out to Stephen who shrugged his shoulders. "Don't try to change the subject. What about that hug?"

Nodding she turned her body and Stephen gave her a bear hug and she hugged back just as tightly. They both heard a guy think as he passed, Well are these dorks finally together or what?

Astrid let go of Stephen and he just stared at her.

John watched them through the crowd of young girls who had gathered around him. How was this going to play out? he wondered.

He watched as they stared at one another and John hadn't realized he had bunched up his fists.

He stared as Stephen leaned in closer to Astrid. He had never seen them that close to each other before. He saw Stephen move swiftly and more than anything John wished he had his powers.

Astrid had anticipated Stephen's move since she had her powers and she shoved him.

"How could you?" she yelled at him.

She sauntered away from him and noticed John surrounded by teenage girls. Had he seen what had happened? She felt like she had been caught and there were so many feelings. Shock being the main feeling. Long ago she would've welcomed Stephen's kiss but now she felt an intense anger.

Will John confront Stephen about the kiss? Will Astrid and Stephen's friendship survive?
