AN UPDATE?! AW YEAH. Also sorry for the delay. Life and stuff happened also I rewrote this chapter a few hundreds of times so there was that. Let me know what you think.

Chapter Three

Elsa's fame skyrocketed after she won the Olympic Silver medal. But it wasn't her skating skills the world was obsessed about.

Anyone who wasn't blind could see that Elsa was fairly attractive. She had a great sense of fashion, spoke eloquently, and while a bit aloof, was also very kind.

The media latched onto all of those outer qualities and because of that, the world wanted to know everything there was about her. Including the country she grew up in.

Arendelle was a small country that didn't have much of a reputation in the world until now. There was so much buzz going on and tourists were starting to visit not just for their goods. Arendelle was mostly known for their textiles and quality of their fabrics apparently. Anna didn't know until Elsa told her. Now people were actually wandering and enjoying everything Arendelle had to offer.

Anna didn't travel around Arendelle much. Her family wasn't poor and while they didn't go on many trips, she did love her country. She knew there was some type of appeal because they had a fairly decent crowd of tourists during the holidays. Even their summers had a nice flow of people.

The temperature wasn't extreme during summer which made for perfect hiking weather in their equally stunning mountain trails. Arendelle had great mountain passes and during winter it was a great resort for all snow activities. There were actually a few mentionable slopes that were very popular amongst the more advanced snowboarders and skiers.

Elsa sometimes went skiing with her family but hasn't gone in a while. Anna preferred the nice, level ground over steep hills due an unfortunate trip up the mountains with her parents. She had never hit so many trees in her life and couldn't quite figure out to to stop. It just solidified her love for hockey instead.

Anna was excited to see her hometown getting the attention she felt it deserved. Business was booming for everyone. The ice rink was busier than ever and while Anna loved that they were remodeling the arena, she was a bit bummed when she figured out that more people also meant she had less time on the ice.

Anna's team had to use their secondary ice skating arena for practices that was usually reserved for new, and very little ice skaters. It wasn't terrible but it also wasn't ideal either. Sometimes they would have practice early in the morning when the rink wasn't open to the general public. Anna wasn't much of a morning person to begin with but she would get up for hockey.

Anna missed the empty ice rink. She missed being able to skate around wildly without worrying about sliding into anyone. But what she missed most was being able to have the ice rink and Elsa all to herself.

With the arena staying open later, they found it difficult to skate into the late hours without their parents throwing a fit. Elsa started requesting early morning slots for herself before anyone should be awake. It was really the only time she was available for anything when she was in town.

Her semi-celebrity status came with a lot of demands. Elsa was asked to be the new face of so many things that Anna lost count. She became the new face for a famous athletic clothing brand and had to shoot a few commercials. She was asked to model clothing, support healthy food companies, and even household items. When she wasn't asked to promote material things, she was sent off to all sorts of talk shows, wearing her silver medal around her neck. Elsa was always so composed and well spoken on TV but she was too polite and wanted nothing more than to go back home and skate.

"I wasn't aware that winning a silver medal would warrant all of this," Elsa said one Friday evening. She was back in her room after being away for months. Her room was filled with gifts from various name-brand companies she agreed to support. Others from companies hoping to gain her support still.

"You're kind of the biggest thing to ever happen to Arendelle, Elsa. Everybody knows who you are now." Anna eagerly opened everything since the older girl was tired of being used as a stepping stone to amp up sales. If there was one perk Anna enjoyed, it was all the nice and expensive things sent for free. While Elsa cared little for material things she would never use, Mulan, Rapunzel, and Anna were more than happy to be test subjects.

Most of it was sports clothing. Some beauty products were sent as well. There wasn't as much food to Anna's dismay. She half expected power bars or some type of power boosting thing to eat. Even trail mix would have been nice. There were all sorts of organic, fair-trade, naturally grown whatever types of food that she saw athletes eat on TV. She hoped Elsa would have gotten some of those. But she knew better than anyone that Elsa was picky with her diet and usually only ate food she or her parents prepared. Now that she was on the traveling so much, she had little time to cook for herself and started branching out.

Anna teased her a bit one night when Elsa was complaining about the poor food choices in the town she was staying in. It was either ridiculously expensive or ridiculously unhealthy. Anna made a comment that Elsa was young and had a wonderful body so having one sinfully tasteful meal wouldn't harm her. Elsa stopped complaining about food choices shortly after that.

Anna did notice that when Elsa came home, she didn't mind going out to eat as much as she did anymore. Traveling around for months probably would put a damper on her picky eating habits. Among other things.

"Well, I'm sure it's not normal for Olympic Medalists to be asked to guest star in a popular TV show."

Anna stopped opening a medium-sized box.

"Wait, what?"

Elsa gave her a smile that wasn't really reassuring and more heartbreaking if anything and simply shrugged.

"Wait, wait, wait! When did this happen?" Anna tossed the box aside and in one fluid motion, climbed onto bed facing Elsa with her legs tucked and crossed under her. She leaned forward as close as she dared to, careful to not pass any friendly boundaries.

Elsa's not-quite-smile shrank into more of a slight upward curve of her lips. Her eyes were a tad hollow, as if she were looking through Anna into some abyss.

"Elsa, what's wrong?" Anna reached forward and gently grasped the older girl's hands in her own.

"It's- nothing really. Just overwhelming and I don't ever want to go outside ever again," Elsa muttered quietly, glancing down at their hands.

Anna frowned. She leaned down to catch the older girl's attention. She stayed like that for a solid thirty seconds before Elsa slowly smiled and looked at her.

Drawing in a deep breath Elsa finally said, "My parents think it's a great opportunity. They don't think figure skating is something I can actually make a worth while career from."

That was a bit of a shock. Elsa's parents were the most supportive people she has seen apart from her own.

But they were also well known business partners that had stock in various multi-million dollar companies. It was a surprise that they weren't trying to make Elsa follow in their footsteps.

"This wasn't something they set up, right?"

Elsa shook her head, "But they're really pushing for it."

Anna let out a long, drawn out sigh. She had absolutely nothing useful to say. What could she say that wouldn't make the situation worse? Elsa was stuck in a bind and hated having to deal with strangers but she also could never deny her parents anything either.

"What TV show is it?"

"It's called How to Train Your Guardian, there's huge hype about it everywhere."

"Wait, isn't that the show Rapunzel is obsessed with?"

"Yes, don't tell her yet."

"She's going to freak out-"

"I know, and she'll be more than encouraging."

Anna laughed.

A moment passed by and the room was quiet again but not uncomfortable.

"So this role they offered you, did they literally just call you up and say 'hey, we'd like you to play this part even though we have no idea how your acting skills are'?"

"Pretty much. The role was written with me in mind specifically. Just me."

"What if you said no?"

"They would probably scrap it and rewrite it. Or something. I'm not entirely sure."

Anna's gaping mouth must have been something if Elsa had to reach over and push her chin back up.

"That doesn't help, Anna."

Shaking her head slightly, Anna tried to focus on the subject.

"Wait, so did they just write up this role in the couple months since you won the medal? And somehow incorporate this brand new character to the main plot? Because that looks like they're just trying to up their ratings."

Elsa bit the bottom of her lip and in any other normal circumstance, Anna would have had to do everything in her power to not glance down.

"It seems the co-creator of the show has a young daughter who has been a fan of mine for the past couple of years. She's been trying to get him to get me as a guest star on the show after it's success."

"That's…really random," Anna muttered.

Elsa nodded, "If anything, I'm more of an athlete than an actor. I have no idea why on earth why anyone would want me as a guest star on anything. I understand the modeling aspect since all I have to do is look pretty and move to show off clothes but acting?"

"You'd probably be good at it, I think. I mean, your free skate had the entire stadium in tears," Anna said with a half shrug. She cried seeing Elsa perform without music, of course the world was going to cry during the real thing.

Elsa blushed slightly and ducked her head down for a moment. Anna smiled at her small victory.

"Apparently they were waiting to see if I could actually win a medal at the Olympics first before they offered the role to a failed figure skater."

"What?! That's terrible! Why even bother if they could just as easily not have you in the show?! I mean, what kind of fickle writing is that-"

"It makes sense though. No one wants a failure in anything."

Anna was immediately irked at the thought and nearly said so but she closed her mouth and huffed instead.

She really had nothing to say in return. Elsa was right, as she always was when it came to public image. She also knew that Elsa was all about her appearance and wanted nothing more than to please her parents and make them proud.

Anna wished Elsa would start doing things for herself every once in a while.

Elsa squeezed Anna's hands. She looked up and her anger dissipated when she saw the small, grateful smile aimed at her.

"So, did you say yes then?" She asked instead after a moment.

"Not yet."

"Are you going to?"

"I'm at least going to see what they've written. But, most likely."

"Be demanding and don't settle for that love triangle crap. They're probably going to put you in that position or something equally dumb because you're beautiful and all."

Elsa's laugh was so unexpected that she had to cover her mouth to muffle it.

That made Anna smile.

"I should just have you be my representative."

Anna snorted, "I would probably either completely ruin everything for you or make them fear you. There is no in between."

"I'm going to watch a few episodes so I can get a feel for the show. Wanna watch with me?"

"Sure."

Two full seasons later, Anna was sitting dumbfounded on Elsa's bed.

She had to admit, the show was really, really good. There was a good amount of action and it wasn't as serious as she expected to be. There wasn't really any character she hated, save for the obvious shady bad guys but even they weren't portrayed as completely evil, just different motives.

Anna couldn't stop thinking if Elsa would be one of those cool Guardians who got to fight and look badass while doing it. Knowing Elsa, she'd somehow make fighting into a dance instead and look graceful while beating up the baddies. It was a cool thought, but only if Elsa wanted to do it.

"So what do you think?" Anna asked.

Elsa was quiet for a moment staring down at her hands clasped in her lap. She drew in a long, slow breath then exhaled.

"I'll give them a call tomorrow."

She was set to fly out two days later. The day after she landed in Los Angeles, Elsa called Anna to tell her she accepted the gig.

Anna couldn't believe how fast they came to the decision. She asked about the script and about Elsa's role. Did they even have Elsa audition? Apparently so, from what the older girl said how they had her do a two session screen test. With the lead actor of the series. They were so impressed with Elsa that they practically begged her to accept.

She wanted to know why Elsa accepted so quickly but was deflected. Elsa couldn't tell her much but she assured her that her role in the series was for only six episodes and wouldn't involve her in a love triangle.

Anna decided to leave it at that.

"Rapunzel is going to kill me and then you for not telling her. You know that right?"

Elsa laughed, "Well, maybe if I got her Jack Frost's autograph, she would spare us."

"How long will you be gone?"

"Well, they don't start shooting for another two months but I need to go through fight training-"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Fight training?!"

"I said that, yes," The smile was clearly heard through the phone.

"Holy- like, you're going to have to film scenes where you're fighting?"

"Yes, that is what fight training seems to imply."

"THAT'S SO COOL!" Anna was nearly bouncing with excitement. "Oh man, I hope they have you be like, a cool Guardian where you beat everyone up without breaking a sweat. Or you come sweeping in the last minute and turn the tides- OH! Do you have powers? You have to right?!"

"I can't really tell you much but they did tell me that my character would be someone who has been a Guardian for centuries. So take from that what you will," Elsa let out a soft, though mildly exaggerated sigh.

"You totally know," Anna accused.

"I can neither confirm nor deny that statement."

"Ugh, fine. So two months of training then shooting?"

"Also getting familiar with acting on the set and hanging out with the cast." Elsa sounded like she was outside now. There was a lot of wind blowing. "I'm not sure how long I'll be gone. We're still discussing the scheduling details."

Anna's heart sank. Granted there have been times when Elsa was gone for weeks for figure skating tournaments and tours. But this was the first time it would be months.

"Anna?"

"So, at least three months then?"

Elsa sighed unhappily, "It seems like it. Maybe more."

"Are you looking forward to it?"

"It's something new and I know next to nothing about it, so if anything, I'm extremely terrified and anxious but…I am interested," Elsa's voice slowly grew quieter as if she was scared someone would hear.

"You'll be fantastic! Next thing you know, there will be movie offers and you'll be the next, like, Jennifer Lawrence but graceful like Emma Watson with an awesome fashion sense!"

Elsa's breathing hitched, then quickened.

Anna realized she made things worse.

"O-or you'll just do your thing, then come back to Arendelle, train for the next Winter Olympics and win the Gold Medal, and I'll be on the national hockey team and we'll get to go together!"

The line was silent for a long moment. Anna could hear Elsa's breathing regulate but it was enough to know that she hopefully said something comforting.

"You'll be alright. Once you get an understanding of how everything works you'll own it. Like you always do," She shrugged helplessly out of habit despite Elsa not being able to see it.

"Thanks, Anna."

She could hear Elsa's smile which made her smile.

"I expect you to call me every night. Or at least text me throughout the day."

Elsa chuckled and agreed.

"Be good while I'm away."

"No promises there!"

To say Rapunzel was angry and upset when Anna told her where Elsa went was an understatement. Hockey practices were rough for the first two weeks with the way Anna was the recipient of aggressive passes that weren't always on the ice.

Elsa made it up to her by surprising Rapunzel with a personal phone call from Jack. She was much nicer afterwards.

The first month passed by quickly with hockey practices starting back up. True to her word, Elsa made sure to call Anna every night, regardless if it was a three minute phone conversation or two hours. The older girl was often tired by the time she called Anna.

Elsa had to be the one to call because her free time was sporadic. She made a point to send a text shortly before calling to make sure it would be a good time though.

Anna heard all about Elsa's exhaustive training and how she was pretty much in the gym for three hours then spent another four training. There was fight training, harness training, as well as rehearsing scenes on top of memorizing her lines.

"Geez, all that for six episodes?"

"It's the season finale. It's supposed to be intense. We also need to film scenes for promotions as well as TV spots so…they want to get some scenes where I'm fighting for those," Elsa sighed heavily. It sounded as if she just flopped back on her bed from the sound of the soft 'fwump' Anna heard.

"You okay?"

"Just tired. It's been nonstop since I've gotten here. I miss skating with you," Elsa's voice was drained and quiet.

Anna's heart ached. She wanted so much to be with Elsa right now. She felt so helpless and hated that she couldn't do anything.

"I miss you," Anna murmured. Her face flushed and she stammered trying to think of something else to add on but grew quiet when Elsa chuckled.

"I miss you, too. How are things going for you?"

They talked for a while with Anna recounting everything that happened. Practice has been brutal now that Calhoun is getting them ready for the season, and hoping to have them make it to the Regional Junior Hockey Tournament. It would be the biggest thing her team has ever competed in thus far and they had a good chance of competing for the cup.

"We've actually got a friendly game against another competing team," Anna suddenly remembered. The only reason was because the team name was funny.

The Sugar Rushers were from a nearby country and have won the Regional Junior Cup the last three years. Anna didn't know much about their team. She's heard rumors that weren't the nicest and that they won by shady means. She wasn't sure how much a bunch of fifteen and sixteen year olds could really get away with but hockey was a violent sport. She's come away with enough bruises to know.

"When is that?"

"In two weeks, actually. Right before the regular season picks up."

"Is that a smart thing to do? Play a friendly match with a team that you might face in the playoffs?"

"We aren't technically in the same division so, maybe? Coach thinks it'd be a good experience. To scope the competition or something," Anna said. She heard Elsa trying to stifle a yawn and smiled. "You should head to bed."

"I'm sorry. You'd think I'd be able to handle the physical training but my body isn't used to moving the way they-" Elsa yawned again, "-want it to."

Anna laughed and said, "Go to sleep, we can talk later."

"Goodnight, Anna."

"Night, Elsa!"

There was one thing Anna was absolutely certain about. She hated the Sugar Rushers.

The rumors seemed more like facts now. This team played dirty and they were damn good at it. If there was one team that would represent Slytherin well, it would be this one.

There were three players in particular who were teaming up against Anna whenever the puck was in her possession. Barely ten minutes into the game and Anna was slammed into the wall five times. Her head was pounding as she tried to refocus and regain her breath.

Muttonfudge scoffed as she pushed off of Anna and went back towards the game.

"Dude, you okay?" Rapunzel helped steady her as they made their way back to the center.

"Yeah, yeah. Don't worry about me," Anna insisted. She gently pushed the other girl away towards the action.

Rapunzel gave her a worried look before she skated back into the game.

A timeout was called by Calhoun before Anna could make it to the other side of the rink.

"How you holding up?" Mulan intercepted Anna before she could make it to their team.

"Well, nothing's broken at least," She answered with a half shrug, only realizing now how sore her left shoulder was.

"I almost went after Candlestick when she and that one kid, Flubberbutt or something, tag teamed you," Mulan squeezed Anna's arm gently. "If it wasn't for their captain yelling at them to stop, I would've assumed they were planning to get you from the get go."

"Yeah, I guess scoring the first goal of the game makes you the main target."

Calhoun shouted at them to come to their side of the bench.

According to her other teammates, Jasmine, Lilo, and Jesse, it seemed as if it was an all-out attack against just Anna whenever the puck near her.

"I don't know if it's cause you just happen to be front and center, but those guys are out for blood," Lilo stated as she pulled off her catcher's glove and took a big drink of water.

"Their capt'n doesn't seem to approve of what they're doin' if her shouts are anything to go by," Jesse added, her southern accent coming out a little more prominently as it usually did when she was angry. Her eyes were on the other team where the Sugar Rushers' captain was barking at the three trouble makers. They didn't look the least bit ashamed.

"What concerns me even more is that their coach seems to be encouraging it. Whenever they body slammed you, I would see him smirk." Jasmine glared at the bald-headed man with a graying crown of hair around his head. He was rather short, had a large nose, and did not look like a pleasant man to talk to.

"But they hit all of you guys, too? Mulan was hit twice and so were you, Jesse," Anna insisted as she looked between her fellow teammates.

"Not as much as you. I swear you were being targeted even when the puck was no where near you," Lilo said, glaring at the opposing team.

Even Calhoun was concerned. It must've been really bad if she was asking about it. "You sure you're alright, kid? This is unacceptable behavior and I'll stop the game right now."

"What? No! I want to keep playing," Anna insisted.

And return the favor.

The whistle blew to signal the end of the timeout.

The second period went well. Anna scored another two goals and was quick to avoid any altercations from the Sugar Rushers. She also noticed their captain quickly jumping in to stop any more body checks and subtle, but painful, stick hits. Still, Anna was jabbed more than once in the side where her protective gear didn't cover her abdomen. She was absolutely sure she was going to have massive bruises by the end of the game.

Muttonfudge looked absolutely murderous with every goal Anna made. They were both forwards and were constantly in battle with one another even when the puck was nowhere near them.

Anna was no weakling and was rather strong for her size and age. She fought back whenever Muttonfudge, Candlehead, or Fluggerbutter went after her. She wasn't scared to body check them whenever they were close to the wall or shove them back when their sticks tangled together for the puck.

Now that they were under close watch, it seemed the Sugar Rushers didn't dare try anything anymore.

They were up five to two by the time third period began. Anna was feeling pretty good about her team. They played their defense well and their passes were on point.

As the whistle blew, Anna and Muttonfudge fought for the puck. Anna won and passed it successfully to Mulan. She followed her teammate, trying to get away from her opponents but they were surrounding her like vultures. Anna was the fastest player on the Arendelle Reindeers but being blocked made it difficult to be useful.

The puck was stolen when Mulan tried to pass it to Jasmine and rushed to their side of the goal where Lilo stood with only Jesse as her last line of defense.

Rapunzel and Anna skated hard to get back to their side of the rink.

Their Captain, von Schweetz, passed the puck to Candlehead.

Anna barely registered the wide, evil look of glee on her face as she raised her stick and smacked the puck right at her. She didn't even have time to turn away when the puck hit the small, unprotected, left-side gap of her ribcage.

A high-pitched yelp escaped her as she fell to her knees as her left hand pressed against the pain in her side. Tears threatened to escape but she held them back. It was almost unbearable and she swore she felt something crack. She could barely breathe without a sharp pain shooting up her side. How in the hell did she hit the one, tiny-ass spot on her side?!

Half of her teammates surrounded her while the others went after Candlehead. The referees blew their whistles furiously, trying to stop any fight from happening by getting in between the players. Candlehead was sent to the penalty box for the next five minutes of gameplay.

"PENALTY?! SHE WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE GOAL AND THAT PUCK WAS FLYING IN THE AIR!"

That sounded like Calhoun shouting.

"Anna! You okay?" Rapunzel slid on her knees in front of her. She bent down slightly to try and catch her line of sight while also careful to not touch her.

Anna barely nodded. She drew in a slow, deep breath and blinked the wetness from her eyes away. She caught sight of Jesse holding Mulan back from joining Candlehead in the penalty box.

The smug look Anna received from the green-haired girl sent a surge of anger through her. She saw Muttonfudge and Fluggerbutter snickering as they passed their teammate in the box smirking proudly at them.

It was war now.

With the Sugar Rushers down one player, the Arendelle Reindeers had the clear advantage.

Anna was relentless, using all of her skills to pivot the opposing team straight to their goal. She remembered all of Elsa's lessons, about staying in control of her movements, focusing on her core to keep balance and to allow her body to do what it was trained to do.

It was probably a good thing Elsa wasn't here to watch her get beaten up. The older girl would be worried, no doubt, but Anna didn't want her to witness the frenzy she could get into when pushed hard enough.

Hockey brought out the best and the worst in her. Anna had to admit that when she was on ice during a game was when she was her most violent. She was better at it now that she was older but sometimes she would get so caught up in the rush that body checks just happened.

Although the attacks aimed at her today weren't purely accidental.

The Sugar Rushers were making obvious attempts to hit Anna on her left side. After the first, so called accidental hit, Anna was careful to not allow anyone near while she had the puck. The rest of her team were acting as makeshift defenders because everyone knew that Anna, their top scorer, was their target.

The whistle blew as Anna scored another goal for her team. They all came together in a giant circle, cheering for their point. The current players got in a single file line and skated towards their team on the bench and shared high fives with them all before they got back into their positions for the next reset.

Anna was in possession of the puck, making her way towards the opponent's goal. She saw Rapunzel wide open and got ready to pass the puck as she glided by the team benches.

She caught sight of a pink and brown jersey from the corner of her eye coming to her right.

A body rammed into her from behind right before she passed the center glass between the two team benches. She barely had time to notice that she was pushed slightly over the edge towards the bench area before her head and shoulder slammed into the corner of the stanchion. She ricocheted off the glass, body twisting suddenly and involuntarily as she collapsed onto the hard ice.

Everything went black.

Anna was so incredibly exhausted when she came to. She could barely move her body and felt extremely sluggish. Opening her eyes was difficult but she managed it.

There was movement to her right. A blonde head came into her view with crystal clear blue eyes.

This person was absolutely gorgeous.

"Whoa…" Anna whispered. Was this an angel? She had to be a model at least.

"Anna!" The blonde-haired beauty exclaimed. "You're finally awake!"

Even the voice was music to her ears.

Anna could only stare. This person looked oddly familiar but she couldn't exactly remember her. Surely she would never forget such a face but Anna's memory wasn't working right now.

"You…have a lovely face. I like it very much," Anna murmured in awe.

The girl chuckled as she came a little closer.

"You are completely drugged up," The beauty told her matter-of-factly.

Anna tried to reach up to touch this face of perfection but her motor skills were failing her. Also she had things in her arm that was restricting her movements. The girl seemed to understand what she was doing because she gently grasped Anna's hand and brought it to her face.

Anna smiled as best as she could. It seemed to work cause the pretty girl returned it.

"Can I kiss you?"

The girl chortled so suddenly that she tried to cover it with a soft cough.

Then Anna remembered that she was being way too forward. There was no way a girl like her wasn't dating someone.

"Wait, are you single? I shoulda asked that first." Anna's face scrunched up as she thought about how direct she was being. Just like those lame boys whenever they tried to pick up her friends. "Wow, I'm a total creep."

The pretty girl laughed again, a little harder this time that she had to turn away.

"I'm actually single," The girl said as she gave Anna a warm and amused smile.

"Whaaaaat?" Anna asked in disbelief. How could this girl be single? Wait, what did it matter; that meant she had a chance! "So, if I asked you out on a date, what would you say?"

"I would say yes," The girl answered almost immediately. She chuckled a little quietly this time as she gave Anna's hand a gentle squeeze.

Whoa, she said yes. Alert! The pretty girl said yes!

"You are an absolute mess right now, Anna. Do you know who I am?"

"Are you an angel?"

She chuckled again, "No. I'm Elsa."

Elsa…wow, even the name was pretty.

"Hi, Elsa," She said, sighing happily.

"Hello, Anna."

They stared at each other for a moment. Anna squinted her eyes as she tried to figure Elsa out.

"So…not an angel."

"Far from it."

She probably wasn't that far from it but Anna would let that slide for now.

"Do you know where you're at, at least?"

Anna looked around the room. It was fairly small, unfamiliar, and she and Elsa were the only two in it right now.

"Not my room."

A pause.

"Well, you're not wrong."

Anna's vision started to get blurry, "My head hurts a butt ton though."

"I'll go get the nurse," Elsa offered as she stood up.

Anna squeezed Elsa's hand tightly.

"Wait, about that date-"

Elsa gave her a warm smile and leaned over to give Anna a kiss on the forehead.

"Let's discuss it later," Elsa gave Anna a pensive look, then a small, wry smile. "If you remember."

When Anna woke up, the pain in her arm was more prominent now. Her head was throbbing and she felt an ache on her left cheek. She could barely recall the hit. She was skating pretty fast and if anything, her speed slamming into the corner of the center glass was probably what caused most of the injury. The only thing she was upset about was that she wasn't sure who pushed her.

She had a guess who it was though.

Anna glanced around at her surroundings. It was 6:25 she guessed in the afternoon from the analog clock across from her. She was in the hospital. The air was clinically clean, the room full of complicated and dull equipment, and the lights were thankfully at a minimum.

Suddenly she remembered her dream and felt her face warm up. God, she hoped it was a dream and that Elsa didn't actually witness her practically profess her love.

She glanced around the room but it was empty. Elsa couldn't have been there. She was in L.A. training and getting ready to shoot for that popular television show. She had at least two months left and there was no reason for her to return to Arendelle right now.

Anna's face grew hotter as she recalled everything she said.

She wanted to kiss Elsa. She even said it out loud. Then she asked her on a date. And Elsa said yes?!

Anna wanted to squeal and at the same time dig herself six feet under. Of course it was a dream. There was no way that Elsa would agree to a date unless it was just to humor her.

The door opened quietly.

"Anna!" Her mother exclaimed. Her father was right behind her mother. "Oh, honey. How are you feeling?"

"Hey, mom." Anna tried to give her a reassuring smile but she was in no shape to do so. "What…what happened?"

"You hit the wall really hard. The player on the other team shoved you into the corner and you were already skating so fast so you hit it so hard that you knocked out," Her mother gently took a hold of Anna's free hand that wasn't in the sling.

"You had a concussion and practically broke your left shoulder. You're lucky your shoulder got the brunt of the hit and not your neck," Her father added.

"Did we win at least?"

Her parents laughed.

"Your coach called the game off right then and there. She was about ready to murder the other players and their coach," Her mother chuckled.

"Don't worry, we avenged you properly though!"

Mulan and Rapunzel came in. Anna's eyes widened as she saw the black eye Mulan sported as well as the white tape over her bruising nose. Rapunzel was no better with her bruised and busted lip. Her right cheek was swollen and was also purple and black.

"What happened to you two?!"

"All hell broke loose when you were knocked out," Anna's mother interjected. She tried to give a stern look to the other girls but failed. If anything she was proud of them.

"We went after Mutant Fudge when she hit you. Then her teammates came to her rescue, then the rest of us joined in and- well. It took about fifteen minutes to get everyone to stop fighting." Mulan shrugged indifferently as she pulled up a chair next to Anna and took a seat.

"Mulan got her really well. Grabbed her helmet and slammed her to the ground then just pounded the sh-" Rapunzel caught herself, seemingly remembering that adults were present, "-crap out her!"

"Rapunzel went after Flubberbutt and Lilo got Candlestick as she tried to join in. It was pretty crazy," Mulan added though she smiled. "I think that was our first huge team fight. And it wasn't even an official game."

"There was that one girl, the captain of the Sugar Rushers who was caught in the middle. She was trying to break up the fight but she was yelling at her teammates," Rapunzel glanced to the empty space to her left. "I'm sure this isn't the first time they've gone crazy like this."

Anna yawned. Maybe it was a good thing she was knocked out. Who knows what she would have done if it was one of her teammates that was in her position.

"Told you playing against a team in a friendly match was a bad idea."

Anna's eyes widened as Elsa walked through the door, arms crossed over her chest. Her hair was tied in a single braid hanging over her left shoulder. She was wearing a long, knitted burnt orange sweater that ended mid-thigh with the sleeves bunched at her elbows. She wore black leggings and ankle-high, light brown, suede boots.

"Elsa! I-I had no idea you were back in town," Anna stammered. She cursed the heart monitor next to her as the beeping increased. She noticed Mulan glancing at the device but thankfully she kept quiet.

"I was going to surprise you after the game but…" Elsa gestured to all of her in the bed.

"But, don't you have the shoot and training?"

"I'm flying back in four days. They gave me a small break since I was practically thrown right into everything immediately."

Suddenly Anna was recalling the dream and the realization that it possibly wasn't a dream frightened her.

"How long have I been out?"

"Almost two days," Her mother answered, her eyes on Anna's heart monitor.

Her doctor came in shortly after, greeting her cheerfully and did the basic check up. He told her that her rotator cuff was severely damaged, her acromioclavicular ligament joint was also fractured. She's also got a minor fracture in one of her left ribs. Her head was fine, thanks to her helmet, but still bruised up. She also had two pins placed in her arm temporarily to hold her shoulder in place so it would heal properly.

"You're going to have to have those pins in your arms for at least a month before we can do a check up to see how you're healing."

"How long do you think it'll take to heal?"

"I would say at least three months for the major injuries to heal," Her doctor stated.

"That's nearly half of hockey season…" Anna muttered.

"You'll probably be out for most of the season, if you want your arm to heal properly." It was Elsa who spoke with a stern tone.

"It's not like I can do any worse if I don't move it, though, right?" Anna countered grumpily. She couldn't believe she would get injured so badly before the season began. She was really looking forward to play now that she was going to start high school with her friends. Her school didn't have a hockey team but most of her teammates went to the same school so it felt like one. Although with her left arm being useless, she would probably only be able to watch from the bench.

"You'll also need to go through physical therapy to make sure that your arm doesn't get stiff and stretches properly," Her mother added.

Anna groaned. If they managed to ever face the Sugar Rushers again, she would return the pain tenfold.

Now that she wasn't as drugged up as before, the pain was more prominent now. Anna could barely move her left arm without a burning sensation taking over. If she breathed too deeply, her lower left side hurt. She got bad headaches every once in awhile and her left cheek was badly bruised.

Anna grabbed some of the pain medication and downed two pills. She took a long drink of water and hoped it kicked in quick.

She felt pathetically broken and useless. She couldn't even sleep in her own bed and was forced to use the recliner. It reduced her likeness of rolling on her arm and causing more injury. So her doctor told her.

Anna had to stay home for at least a week. Those were her parent's orders.

It annoyed her that she couldn't do the simplest of things without help. Showers were a pain. She needed to keep the bandage covering the pins in her arm clean and also change them daily. Sometimes the cloth got stuck to the area around the pins and pulling those off each day was like pulling off a scab that hadn't healed yet.

Changing her shirt was an ordeal having to take the sling off. She had to carefully stretch her shirts to minimize any movement in her left shoulder as possible. Anna debated about not changing her shirts during the second day but the smell was not pleasant and she quickly decided against it.

She was in the middle of trying to put her sling back on when the door to her room opened.

Elsa came in with a tray of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and two glasses of milk. Seeing Anna struggle, she quickly set the tray on the desk and came over to help.

"Here, let me-"

"No, I got it." She didn't want to be a nuisance and had to get used to doing this herself for a while. Elsa only had two more days left before she had to fly back.

With an audience critical of her every move, and also it being Elsa, Anna was a little more frantic than usual. Her fingers fumbled to get the strap through the loop and then adjusted it too quickly. It was too tight around her neck so she fixed that and got to work on the waist strap. She struggled a little bit reaching behind her back for the strap on the other end. The painkillers hadn't kicked in just yet so her movements were limited even more so.

Finally Elsa came up to her, a small and amused smile on her lips as she reached her hands around and behind Anna. She pulled on the strap gently, tucked it through the loop and secured it.

"Thanks," Anna mumbled. The close proximity was distracting and only reminded Anna of how much taller Elsa was.

Anna didn't like that she looked like a child compared to Elsa and the height difference wasn't helping. She hoped that she was still growing and that she could catch up to the older girl soon.

"Did you take your pain meds?"

"Yup, right before you came in."

"How are you feeling?"

"Lame."

Elsa grabbed a cookie and held it up to Anna's lips. She frowned a bit and tried to take the cookie but Elsa avoided her reach and held it back in front of her lips.

"I've only got one useless arm, you know."

"I know."

Anna glared but Elsa just smiled sweetly. She relented and took a big bite.

"You're being really playful in my time of need. What did they do to you in Los Angeles?"

Elsa laughed and took a bite of the same cookie she offered.

She brought the plate of cookies over to the bed but put Anna's glass of milk on the nightstand as she placed her own onto the dresser on the other side of Anna's bed. They then climbed onto the bed. Anna tried to settle as best as she could against the headboard with as little movement as possible. Elsa sat easily besides Anna, careful to not upset the plate of cookies between them.

"Nothing bad. Everyone has been extremely welcoming and nice. Luckily the crew for the show seems to respect me. The cast is also pleasant." Elsa finished the cookie and grabbed another one. Anna knew that Elsa was having a good time from all of their talks. She was happy that Elsa seemed to be enjoying herself but couldn't help but worry how much of it was because she had to make the best of it or if it was genuine.

"So, why'd you come back all of a sudden? And how come you didn't tell me!" Anna grabbed another cookie, dunked it in milk for a solid ten seconds then ate it in three bites. It distracted her from glaring at Elsa, which would honestly only last three seconds before she would sigh happily at seeing the blonde beauty here in the flesh and not talking through the phone.

"I wanted to see your first game," Elsa took another cookie but she nibbled on this one. She took her glass of milk and lightly dunked her cookie in it before taking a small bite. She glanced shyly at Anna, as if her reason for coming back was too embarrassing.

"Ha…it wasn't even an official game and now I can't even play for half of the season," Anna grumbled irritably. She drank a third of her milk in one gulp. "Those assholes played so dirty! They kept getting their sticks in the way of my skates and would elbow me whenever the ref wasn't looking and- argh! I wanna play them again to return the favor!"

"I was there for the whole game, I saw everything they did to you," Elsa gave Anna a small frown. Most likely for her language but she didn't care. Anna was so angry thinking about everything again.

Muttonfudge's smug looks and Candlehead's annoying laugh and Fluggerbutter's stupid smirk made her blood boil.

"And, god! When Candlehead hit the puck at me and I was no where near the goal!? I mean, I commend her excellent aim cause she got me in THE ONE SPOT THAT ISN'T PROTECTED! Like, my arm covers that one tiny ass spot and she just-"

"I know, I saw," Elsa added quietly. She set her partially eaten cookie on the plate.

"-Two broken ribs?! TWO! From that one hit! And to top it all off, as if that wasn't enough, oh no, I get slammed into the wall, AND it happened to be the wall dividing the two teams so of course I hit it at an angle and next thing, I wake up in the HOSPITAL!"

Elsa didn't respond as she set her glass of milk on top of the dresser next to her.

Anna drew in a deep breath as she tried to calm herself. Her shoulder was starting to hurt from her slight movements.

"I wanted so much to- argh!" She was so upset that she could barely finish her sentences, "And just when they- ugh!" Anna clenched her right fist although her left arm was shaking in her attempt to keep it still. The pain wasn't even bothering her as much anymore. Painkillers were kicking in.

"Mulan and Rapunzel got them back really well for you though," Elsa stated. Her tone was rather calm but she was probably trying to be the level-headed one out of the two. "In fact, your entire team, even the ones on the bench, jumped out real quick to join in,"

"Man, that- I wish I could've joined because I would've beaten the shit out all of them," Anna couldn't even look apologetic as she looked over at Elsa. Her swearing wasn't that out of the ordinary but she did try to tone it down whenever she was around the older girl. Right now, she didn't care and knew that Elsa didn't either. "God, I would've-"

Elsa kissed her.

Anna barely had time to register it when something hard hit her thigh and her lap was suddenly cold and wet. She dropped her glass of milk.

In her flurry to wipe her soaked pajamas with her bare hand and then pick her glass. She somehow flipped over the plate of cookies, sending them all over herself and Elsa.

"Shit! Shit, I-I'm sorry!" Anna jumped off the bed and grabbed the best substitute for a towel she could find, which was a dirty shirt on the ground by the foot of her bed, and started wiping the milk from her blanket.

"I-I'll go grab a towel," Elsa offered as she quickly walked out of the room.

Anna gathered the broken cookies and put them on the plate. Or at least she tried to. Her hand was shaking so much that she was creating more crumbs than gathering them.

Elsa kissed her. That happened. Elsa's really soft lips were on hers.

Holy crap! The most beautiful and eligible girl in all of Arendelle kissed her!

And Anna was a complete idiot to ruin the entire thing.

What did she do now? Anna wanted to dance. She wanted to run down the street and cheer loudly. She wanted to jump from building to building like all those first person parkour videos she saw on Youtube. She felt like she could do anything right now. She would have if she wasn't injured.

Her breathing was short and harsh and made the pain on her left side intensify. Her shoulder was starting to hurt again and so was her left side. Her head was pounding and she was starting to feel a little dizzy.

Anna drew in a long, deep breath, ignoring the pain in her abdomen. The pounding in her head was wasn't quite fading. She tried to stand still to lessen the aching throb in her shoulder.

First thing, she should clean up the mess on her bed. She'll have to change her bed sheets. There were way too many crumbs all over the place.

Anna let out puff of air, growling at herself.

Of all times to turn into a perfect example of disaster, this had to be it. Anna already had a hard enough time looking at Elsa without being starry eyed and losing her train of thought half the time. What was she gonna do now? Elsa kissed her. Their lips were pressed together and-

Anna's face grew extremely hot.

She put the cookie plate, with the spilt glass lying on its side on top of the broken pieces, on her night stand. In her fluster she placed it down a little too hard that crumbs spilled over a little.

"Oh, great. Just friggin-" She would clean that mess later.

Her lap was still cold and wet. Her pajamas were clinging to her thighs and were quite uncomfortable. She tugged those off.

Of course, Elsa entered right as she did so.

"Oh! S-sorry! I didn't mean to-" Elsa stammered as she quickly turned, head facing the ground.

"N-no, it's- uh, I was just- I mean, I'm not…naked or anything," Anna nearly tripped as she tried to step out of her pjs.

Her breathing hitched as a sharp jolt shot through her shoulder. She froze as it stung and throbbed.

"Hey, you okay?" Elsa asked softly. She was in front of her, one hand holding the towel and the other gently holding Anna's uninjured upper arm.

Not trusting her voice, Anna gave a slight nod. Elsa waited a moment, eyes wandering over Anna's face before she let go and took a step back. She turned her attention to the mess on the bed.

Anna quickly found some sweatpants hanging off her desk chair and pulled those on as quickly as she could.

They've changed many times in front of each other before. Anna was caught staring one too many times that she started looking away automatically to break the habit.

Come to think of it, she never considered Elsa staring at her before. Who would? While Anna didn't have a terrible body, she didn't think she was much of a looker. She was a bit more fit than most thanks to hockey so she had that going for her. But she still felt awkward in her body. She was a freshman in high school now and was definitely the sporty type. Maybe Elsa was into sporty types?

"Sorry about the uh-" Ruining a perfectly good kiss? Maybe making things awkward now? "-Spilling the milk and wasting the cookies you baked."

"I can always make more," Elsa said, finally turning around and giving Anna a small smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. She made her way to the bed and placed the towel on the wet area. By now the milk absorbed into the blankets. "Here, I'll put your bed sheet and blankets into the washer. Hopefully it didn't soak through to your mattress."

Anna moved to help pull the covers off but Elsa held up a hand, giving a pointed look at her shoulder. She gave a huff and took a seat at her desk chair.

"Can I at least carry the plate to the kitchen?"

Elsa glanced at Anna, then the plate of cookies with the empty glass of milk lying on top of everything. After a moment she gave her approval.

Thankful to have something to do, Anna followed Elsa downstairs and set the dish on the kitchen counter. She took the glass, set it in the sink then dumped the cookies into the trash. She saw the used baking sheet on the stove; the oily imprints where the cookies baked were still on it.

Anna opened the fridge and found the container of cookie dough. She set it next to the baking sheet before setting the oven to 325 degrees to preheat. She managed to somewhat successfully scoop three balls of dough when she heard the washer running.

"You got it?" Elsa asked as she came up next to Anna.

Anna's left hand was holding the scoop as she removed the fourth dough and tried to form it into a ball. The cookies were bound to turn out lumpy anyways and she'd made cookies hundreds of times with Elsa before. Taste was what mattered and Anna knew Elsa mastered the art of chocolate chip cookie dough making.

"Yup, don't worry about this." Anna gave Elsa a smile only to find the taller girl already looking right at her.

Suddenly her mouth was dry and she made the mistake of glancing down at Elsa's lips.

Elsa definitely saw that. The corner of her lips twitched upwards. Anna would have missed it if she hadn't been watching so intently.

Anna tried so hard to keep her eyes locked with Elsa's but she most definitely noticed out of her peripheral vision how the older girl subtly licked her lips.

They were leaning towards each other, or at least Anna knew she was leaning in. She wanted to touch those lips again. She wanted to kiss Elsa.

A door slam shook them violently out of their stupor and they quickly pulled away.

Anna's face was burning as she looked down at the smushed dough in her hand. She tossed it back into the container and tried to scoop another ball but put too much force and made it twice the size she was intending. She restarted but her hands were shaking so much that it formed a lopsided oval thing despite the scoop being designed to prevent such disastrous mess-ups.

"Mmm, are you girls baking?" Anna's mother came into the kitchen sniffing the air.

"Just about to put another tray into the oven, well, once Anna finishes putting the dough on the sheet that is," Elsa replied, leaning against the island counter. Her hands were gripping the edge a little tighter than usual but other than that, she was utterly composed as if nothing happened.

As if they almost didn't just kiss again.

Anna gave up making any sort of spherical shaped mass and rolled the dough as best as she could, placed it on the tray equally apart from the other cookie doughs and tossed it in the oven.

She set the timer for eighteen minutes before turning towards her mother.

"H-How was work, mom?" Anna smiled as her mother leaned over to give her a quick kiss on the check.

"Oh, you know, the usual. Some people can't understand simple instructions so they blame me when paperwork isn't processed and all that nonsense. But it wasn't terrible." Anna's mother was an office manager of sorts. She wasn't entirely sure exactly what her mom did but she did know that she managed the financial aspect of her company and was in charge of contracts and purchasing things. It was all very vague but Anna also would get lost whenever her mother tried to explain the finer details of her job. "How was your day? Did you take your meds and rest as you were told to?" At this, Anna's mother looked at Elsa.

"She did. Anna was pretty obedient today. She took her meds on her own and stayed put." Elsa grinned cheekily.

Anna puffed her cheeks. Of course she took her pain medication and has done so for the past couple of days otherwise she'd want to cut her arm off from her shoulder down. Although being stationary did make her antsy and she tried to go for walks but Elsa was sure to put a stop to those plans.

"I am fifteen, you know. I can take care of myself … within financial reason," She muttered.

"Well, you're certainly right about one thing," Her mother gave Elsa an exaggerated eye roll before adding, "Your age."

When Anna's father came home, her parents decided that going out for dinner would be easiest on everybody. They also wanted to treat Elsa for helping Anna out for the week and also spend one last evening together since she was due back to L.A. tomorrow morning.

Anna nearly forgot about that. Elsa would be gone for another two months at least, and who knows what would happen afterwards. With her somewhat famous status, Elsa was bound to lead a life surrounded by super pretty and way more interesting people. People that had better talents than playing hockey in a junior league and way better suited for Elsa than her.

Maybe it was for the best that the almost-kiss didn't happen then.

Elsa only had one day left and to have such a heavy conversation right before they would be separated would be really awkward.

Right?

It was better that they didn't make things weird between them.

At least that's the mindset Anna decided upon on her way to Elsa's house. The walk was greatly appreciated after being stuck in the house for five days. She didn't want to come over too early because she honestly wasn't sure how to talk to Elsa now. Last night her parents were good buffers and they dropped Elsa off after dinner. Right now…well, she had fifteen minutes to spare before Elsa was about to leave for the airport.

"Anna! I had no idea you were going to come!" Elsa's father exclaimed when he opened the door. "You shouldn't be out and about."

"I wanted to see Elsa off because she'll probably be gone and busy and I'll be in school so we probably won't be able to talk as much," Anna replied with a grin.

Elsa's father gave a short laugh and said, "Elsa will always find time to talk to you, Anna. I swear she priorities you over her own parents!"

Anna's smile slowly turned into a blank look. Well, there went that resolve.

"In any case, I can give you a ride home on the way to the airport."

Anna shook her head.

"Thanks but, um, I like the walk. My legs are gonna get weak and useless if I don't move around."

"Not that I'm not happy to see you, but I'm sure you should be home." Elsa's mock glare when she caught sight of the younger girl only made Anna's smile widen.

As per usual, Elsa was well dressed for her long flight. She wore stone gray, skinny khakis and in her hands she carried a pair of teal, suede oxford shoes. Under her black peacoat she wore a teal, shawl collared, pull over tunic that hugged her body. Around her neck was a gray and white striped infinity scarf. Her hair was tied in a low ponytail with her bangs slightly covering her eyes.

"You sure you don't want a ride, Anna?"

"Nope! Thank you, though. I'll be okay."

He gave her one last concerned look then turned to his daughter. "Elsa, I'll start the car, then. Walk home safely, Anna." With that, he walked out the front door, giving Anna a gentle pat on the head as he passed her.

"Your mom is going to be upset that you came," Elsa stated though she couldn't keep the wide smile off her face. She set down her brown, leather messenger bag on the floor and sat on the second to last step on the stairs to put her shoes on.

"Well, hopefully she won't hear about it until much later in the day when I tell her nonchalantly." She gave the older girl a cheeky grin.

Elsa returned the smile as she stood and picked up her bag.

She was utterly beautiful. They stood there for a long moment, just staring at each other with goofy grins.

Anna was most definitely in love and she was sure that Elsa felt the same way. She was an idiot to think otherwise. Elsa wasn't a shallow person to fall for just anyone. She's had plenty of guys and girls hit on her and not once was she ever interested in any of them. Elsa's never cared for dating or relationships and they've never really talked about it before.

"I'll text you when I land."

"Please do," Anna suddenly started feeling her heart beating faster. Her hands were feeling a little clammy as she stared up at the older girl.

It was times like these that she really hated their major height difference. Elsa had a good five inches on her. It was a good thing she wasn't wearing any type of heels.

"Please text me when you are home and in your bed. You shouldn't even be up this early."

"It's not that early."

"8:30am is early for you."

"Okay, that is true."

They both stood there for a few moments. Elsa shifted the bag on her shoulder and started walking outside. Anna followed and watched as the older girl locked the door.

Anna glanced at the car Elsa's father was in. He was facing the road and since their front porch was elevated, he couldn't get a good view of them unless he leaned and craned his neck to look.

Elsa followed Anna's gaze then looked back at her.

"I'll see you soon, okay?"

Anna didn't answer.

Elsa frowned, "Anna? Are you alright-"

Anna leaned up and gave Elsa a quick, nervous kiss on her lips. She pulled back but kept her eyes down and refused to look up until Elsa placed her hands on Anna's jawline. She gently pushed upwards until Anna had to look at her.

Elsa was beaming.

Anna let out the breath she didn't realize she was holding in a nervous laugh.

"Two months. I'll see you in two months," Anna returned the smile as best as she could.

"If anything changes, you will be the first to know." Elsa glanced down at Anna's lips again.

This time they leaned in together. The kiss was short but sweet and left Anna's heart soaring.

"I'll see you soon."

If it wasn't for her arm, she would have danced all the way back home.

A/N: Now another few months till the next one :D I'm kidding. But maybe not...
