The August heat was very pervasive, but Dark Magician Girl barely felt it as she skipped to the market. Her spirits were high, and this was reflected in the bounce in her step. The last time she had been to the market to purchase some food, she had noticed throigh her periphery vision a aisle of small, wooden plaques that had captions that read such things as, "Best Girlfriend" and "Best Father". The one that caught her attention was one aimed at the "Best Boyfriend". She wanted to get one for Exodia. She knew he would be so happy to get that present from her.

When she reached the market, she took a moment to admire the structure. It was HUGE, especially compared to the human equivalent. But it made sense; there were plenty of large dragons and ogres and such things in the monster world, and it wouldn't have been fair to them if they weren't allowed to shop because of their size.

Dark Magician Girl quickly strode to the area where she remembered seeing the plaques, and she squealed. They were on sale! Lady Luck must have been smiling on her! There were only two boyfriend plaques left, and she managed to snatch one moments before another slender hand grabbed the final one.

Dark Magician Girl turned around to see the hand's owner was Gagaga Girl. "Hey, what are the odds?"

Gagaga giggled. "I was just thinking how lucky I was, but I guess that was just the tip of the iceberg. How have you been?"

"Believe it or not, I had also been thinking that luck was on my side today. I guess we're sisters in luck." The two friends high-fived.

Even though it was none of her business, Dark Magician Girl was curious who Gagaga's boyfriend was. Still, she didn't want to pry. If Gagaga wanted her to know, she had no doubt that her friend would tell her.

Instead, Gagaga Girl asked, "So, who's the lucky guy? He must be pretty swell if you're buying this for him." Dark Magician Girl was surprised; she thought that she and Exodia was common knowledge by now. Maybe Gagaga Girl had lost her talent for gossip.

"Did I never tell you?" It's Exodia. Yes, that Exodia." Gagaga Girl looked stunned, and her mouth was hanging open. "Uh. Hello?"

Gagaga shook herself and giggled again. "OK, nice joke, but I'm serious, who?" She thought she was joking? Well, she couldn't blame Gagaga; Exodia was a feared and mythical monster. She could hardly believe it herself sometimes.

"I know, it's hard to believe, but it's true. He helped me out of a sticky situation, and well…we've been dating ever since. I really like him." She felt her face light up at the thought, but Gagaga Girl was starting to look…angry?

"You're serious right now, aren't you? Oh my Ra, I can't believe this crap!" She stomped on the ground. Now it was Dark Magician Girl's turn to be confused. But things would become clear in a moment.

"I thought I was Exodia's girlfriend!" Gagaga screamed, causing other customers to stare at her. "You boyfriend stealing biatch!"

Dark Magician Girl gasped. "What? If anything, I was probably dating him first! You'd better watch your mouth!" The two friends glared at each other, before dashing to the cash registers, each one wanting to buy their gift before the other.

The monster manning the cashier at Dark Magician Girl's line was a Battle Ox. It's white shirt was barely keeping itself together because of the bulging muscles. She practically shoved the plaque into his large hands.

"I'm in a hurry," she sheepishly explained. Battle Ox grunted, and while she didn't understand what that was meant to convey, she wanted to believe that he was saying he would rush through the transaction. And he did! It was over in a moment, and Dark Magician Girl dashed outside.

And bumped right into Gagaga Girl. They both collapsed to the ground in a heap. Gagaga got up first. "Stay down. I'm taking this to Exodia, and I don't want to see you anywhere nearby."

"That bump must have messed up your brain, because I'm the one who's giving this to Exodia. And by the way, I used to run in track and field, so there is no way that you'll be able to outrun me." To prove her point, Dark Magician Girl broke into a run, heading towards the forest where she always met up with Exodia.

As she ran, she glanced behind, and grinned. Gagaga Girl was also running, but was going at a slower pace, and was already winded. There was no she would catch up! Just as her confidence was beginning to peak, her world was rocked by an explosion that knocked her to the ground. When the dust cleared, she saw Gagaga run past her, holding her magic cell phone. That's where the explosion came from!

"Two can play that game," Dark Magician Girl growled as she tackled Gagaga. The two girls began wrestling and rolling around. Then Dark Magician Girl had a thought.

"Wait a minute, why are we running?" Gagaga gave her an exasperated look.

"Um, because we both want to reach Exodia first, duh."

"Yeah, but…we both know teleporting spells, remember? Running is pointless." A few moments passed as the two girls stared at each other, before they both activated their respective spells. In a puff of glittery clouds, both girls were gone.

They both appeared miles away, deep in the forest. Both girls knew where Exodia usually hung out, and both girls continued their run towards the clearing where Exodia might be napping. Dark Magician Girl, who quicker, reached the clearing first, and stopped dead in her tracks. Gagaga bumped into Dark Magician Girl, and the two almost fell.

"Why'd you stop so suddenly?" Gagaga whined. Dark Magician Girl shushed her, and pointed towards the clearing. Gagaga gasped. In the middle of a clearing, Exodia was having a picnic, with a checkered blanket and everything. But that wasn't the surprising part. The surprising part was that Exodia wasn't alone. He was eating with a beautiful Harpie Lady. She had long, flowing crimson hair and an air of maturity about her. It wasn't fair.

"He's…having a date with another woman? He's a two-timer?" Gagaga whispered, mirroring Dark Magician's thoughts. Dark Magician Girl felt a painful stab in her heart, but it was soon replaced with a righteous fury.

"I'm gonna go give him a piece of my mind," she growled. Gagaga looked uncertain, but nodded, and followed her friend to the clearing, where Harpie was laughing at something Exodia had said.

Dark Magician Girl made sure to stomp as she got closer, and as Exodia looked up, his face shifted into one of horror. Clearly, he had not expected to see Dark Magician Girl and Gagaga Girl at this moment.

"Fancy seeing you here, Exodia." She knew her anger came across with the frosty tone. Exodia tried to speak, but it came across as a squawk. Harpie turned to Exodia, confused.

"Who are these girls? Are they friends of yours?" Before Exodia could respond, Gagaga stepped forward, chest out.

"I'm his girlfriend. Or at least I thought he was." She fixed Exodia with a teary stare. "Except he's apparently dating my friend here. But wait, I guess not, since he's dating you too!" Harpie blanched, and she stood up, clearly embarrassed.

"Babe, WAIT!" Exodia cried, but Harpie hissed at him.

"You're a scumbag, Exodia. I can't believe I thought you were cool." She ruffled her wings, and then flew off into the azure Summer sky. Even now, she looked beautiful, or at least Dark Magician Girl thought so.

"Exodia, how could you do this? Was I not good enough?" Dark Magician Girl was scared to hear the answer, but she still really wanted to know.

"It wasn't you, it was me," Exodia murmured. "Once I knew I was apparently date-able, I went crazy, dating anyone who would have me. It was addicting. It went to my head. For what it's worth, I'm sorry."

The two girls glanced at each other, eyes shining with understanding. They then proceeded to beat him up, and while they couldn't actually hurt him, he allowed them to attack him as a way of coping. Once they were tired, they left him all alone.

"So what do we do with these things now?" Gagaga Girl wondered, holding her plaque as if it was a dirty item. Dark Magician Girl shrugged.

"I guess we save them for our next boyfriend. But Gagaga? Let's never fight over a guy again. We're too close to end our friendship over something like that." Gagaga nodded, and the two women embraced as onlookers smiled warmly. Friendship was awesome!

Author's Notes:

Well. It's been awhile, hasn't it? I can't promise that updates will go back to being regular, but I don't think the next chapter will take this long either. And I hope some of you weren't too disappointed with hos Exodia turned out.
