Hello dear readers and welcome to the epilogue

I have thoroughly enjoyed writing this story and I am particularly proud of this piece. Thank you all for sharing this journey with me from start to finish. Thank you for reviewing, thank you for following, thank you for adding this story to your favourites. I'd even like to thank anyone who left anonymous hateful messages. True, your comments simply get deleted, but the poor spelling anonymous haters all seem to have never fails to entertain me. If I were Father Christmas, I'd get all you anonymous haters a dictionary. A special thank you to anyone who actually read the author's notes, you people are my favourite readers (but don't tell the others). A special thank you to rensei-chan for being awesome and helping out with the initial idea for this story. However, if this is the one time you don't read the author's note I will be offended.

Anyway, I'll type nonsense at you all no longer, and I sincerely hope you enjoy the final chapter of 'Bad Boys Don't Cry'.

Epilogue

It had happened. Somehow, Rachel had managed to host a dinner party for her fabulous gay friends. She had taken care of all the cooking while her father, Leroy, had decorated the lounge and dining area with flowers and scented candles. Her other dad, Hiram, was at the piano playing a welcoming tune in preparation for their guests' arrival.

Hearing a knock upon the door, Rachel squealed with excitement and smoothed out her dress before hurrying to let everybody in.

"Kurt, Noah," she greeted, pressing a kiss to their cheeks in turn while Leroy appeared behind her to take their coats. "Dave, Sebastian, so glad you could make it," she smiled going on tip-toes to kiss Dave's cheek.

"Don't kiss me," Sebastian warned and Rachel wisely backed off and permitted him to step through.

"Welcome to the Berry household everybody," Rachel said ushering them all through to the living-room. "Please, take a seat, make yourselves comfortable and engage in polite conversation while I fetch everybody a delicious glass of pink wine."

"I can't believe you tricked me into this," Sebastian hissed at Dave, Kurt and Puck accusingly. "You said we were going to a gay strip club," he pouted.

"I'll strip for you later," Dave whispered into his ear and Sebastian perked up a little at that.

"Gentlemen," Rachel smiled as she returned with a posh serving tray loaded with their pink drinks.

"Thank you, Rachel," Kurt said graciously as he plucked a glass from the tray.

"Thanks, babe," Puck acknowledged grabbing a glass for himself.

"Thank you," Dave said politely. Sebastian just grabbed a glass without comment and glared at the pink liquid as though it were his enemy.

"A toast," Rachel declared holding her own glass up high (both her dads now playing the piano). "To fabulous boys with the courage to love other fabulous boys… cheers!"

"How does she not get punched in the face every day of her life?" Sebastian asked Dave in a drawled tone.

"Don't be mean," Dave chided. "I know she's a little…"

"Insane," Sebastian supplied.

"Odd," Dave said. "But she's a nice girl."

"Nice people are usually the biggest bitches of all," Sebastian commented.

"And people who act like assholes are usually the sweetest people of all," Dave countered giving his boyfriend a pointed look as he rested a hand on the back of Sebastian's neck.

"Utter nonsense, I have never been sweet, nor shall I ever be sweet," Sebastian claimed.

"You bought me a teddy-bear and you bought me flowers," Dave reminded him. "You act like a jerk but really you're such a cutie."

"I'm not cute," Sebastian grumbled.

"He's so adorable," Rachel gushed placing a hand over her heart as she perched on the arm of Kurt's chair.

"Careful," Kurt advised her. "Meerkats can be dangerous."

"Dinner shouldn't be long," Rachel commented checking the time on the clock on the wall. "Please, enjoy the music," she smiled indicating to her two dads at the piano before hurrying to the kitchen to check on the food.

"How long do we have to stay here?" Sebastian asked.

"We'll be here for at least a few hours," Kurt told him. "So be polite and behave yourself."

"Or misbehave and let Dave sort you out later," Puck smirked.

"Noah," Kurt reprimanded and Puck leaned in to steal a kiss in order to remove the disapproving frown from Kurt's face.

In the kitchen, Rachel diligently served up the food, taking great care to arrange it all neatly on the plates. She then carried the meals to the dining room table two plates at a time.

"Boys," she called out. "Dinner is served," she gestured to the table with a proud smile on her face.

"Everything looks delicious, Rachel," Kurt told her as he took a seat.

"Nice one, babe," Puck said.

"Personally…" Sebastian began only for Dave to grip his arm and lean in to say 'be nice'. "I think it looks… great," Sebastian forced out before dropping into a seat and picking up his knife and fork and setting to work on cutting up a boiled potato.

"Sebastian, you can't start eating yet," Rachel told him.

"Why the hell not?" Sebastian sneered dropping his knife and fork down in annoyance.

"Because in the Berry household we wait until everybody is seated and then we say a prayer," Rachel answered.

"A prayer?" Sebastian scoffed. "Some of your guests are Atheists."

"But your hosts are Jewish," Rachel replied as her two dads joined the table and everybody sat down.

"Noah," Hiram smiled. "Perhaps you'd like to do the honours."

"Oh, sure, man, I guess so," Puck shrugged before clearing his throat and reciting some words he vaguely remembered his grandmother saying at the dinner table last Hanukkah.

"Thank you, Noah," Leroy said. "Now we may eat," he declared.

"So, are you kids looking forward to Prom?" Hiram asked.

"I can't wait," Kurt sighed. "For years I've dreamed of being able to slow dance with another boy at Prom but I never dared to believe it would actually happen."

"And now you get to dance with the hottest guy there," Puck grinned.

"Actually, I think you'll find I'll be dancing with the hottest guy, Finn," Rachel said.

"Pretty sure I'm hotter than Finn," Puck smirked confidently.

"You are not," Rachel replied.

"Yes he is," everybody else said.

"I can't wait to see all the dresses the girls wear," Kurt said before Rachel could make further protests about which of their boyfriends was better looking. "I'll enjoy gushing over the fabulous dresses as well as mocking the disastrous dresses."

"Oh, my dress is amazing," Rachel smiled. "I think Finn's really going to love it. What are you boys wearing?"

"I've already agreed to let Kurt dress me," Puck answered.

"A wise choice indeed," Kurt smiled. "Our ensembles will be a visual demonstration of only the most fabulous and daring of fashion extraordinaire."

"Dave, Sebastian, what about you?" Rachel asked eagerly.

"Just a typical Prom suit, nothing fancy," Dave shrugged.

"Sebastian?" Rachel pressed.

"Nothing," Sebastian answered.

"I'm unfamiliar with the rules and expectations held at Dalton Academy," Rachel said. "But I can assure you that you will not be permitted to enter McKinley High's Prom if you show up naked. So, what are you planning to wear? I think it would be totally cute if you and Dave dressed to match."

"I won't be wearing anything because I'm not going," Sebastian told her with a huff.

"What?" Rachel asked in confusion looking between Dave and Sebastian, the smile slipping off of her face. "Hasn't Dave asked you to the Prom yet?"

"I asked," Dave informed her. "Bas said no. It's cool," he insisted.

"But it's Prom," Rachel objected. "You're a couple. You have to go."

"Prom is just a lame dance for straight kids," Sebastian said.

"That's not true," Rachel responded. "Right, Kurt, Noah?"

"I do believe Prom should include everybody," Kurt nodded. "But, to an extent, Sebastian does have a point. When people think of Prom, they don't think of boys slow-dancing with boys, or girls slow-dancing with girls. They think of a boy and girl slow-dancing together. Plus there's all the hype about Prom King and Queen. A sparkly crown goes to a boy and a girl and they share a dance together."

"But it's Prom," Rachel repeated. "Sebastian, you have to go with Davey."

"I don't have to do anything," Sebastian retaliated. "And don't call him Davey," he added.

"It's fine to call me Davey," Dave assured Rachel. "And Prom isn't such a big deal anyway. I probably wouldn't bother going myself but since Bas doesn't want to come I agreed to take Mercedes."

"Well, I for one think Sebastian is making a big mistake," Rachel commented.

"And I for one think you should shut up," Sebastian retorted.

"Children, please, ease off on the hostility," Leroy said in a soothing tone.

"What was Prom like for you, Mr. B?" Puck asked.

"Oh, I didn't attend my Prom," Leroy answered.

"What?" Rachel asked in surprise. "But I always thought you and daddy went together."

"No," Hiram shook his head. "Times were very different then. Attending Prom as a gay couple would have been a scandal in itself, but a white man and black man dancing together would have been even more of a taboo. Our relationship was kept very much secret from our school days right through college."

"Just being friends earned us some dirty looks and scathing remarks," Leroy said. "If we'd come out as gay and as boyfriends… well…"

"You'd have been social pariah's," Sebastian supplied.

"And you'd have got your heads kicked in," Puck added.

"So, neither of you went to your Prom?" Kurt asked sadly. "I understand why you couldn't go together but surely you didn't have to miss out on the experience entirely?"

"Well, I didn't go, but Hiram did," Leroy smiled in amusement while Hiram groaned.

"Daddy, who did you go with?" Rachel asked curiously.

"I took Miriam," Hiram answered. "Her family lived just three houses away and our parents were very close friends. They had hoped for Miriam and I to marry one day. One night I even overheard my mother suggesting to my father that a date be set for us to wed soon after graduation. It broke my mother's heart when she finally learned I would never be taking a wife."

"So your mum never accepted you being gay?" Dave asked thinking of his own mother who he hadn't seen for several months.

"I think she resented me for it till the day she died," Hiram replied honestly.

"Oh, sorry," Dave apologised and the older man just smiled.

"Some minds are full of judgement, some hearts are void of forgiveness and acceptance, and some souls remain stubborn and never learn to love unconditionally," Hiram said. "My mother was such a mind with such a heart and such a soul."

"Mine too," Dave replied and Sebastian rested a hand on his thigh under the table and gave a comforting squeeze.

"What about your old man?" Puck asked. "Did he ever accept your love for cock?"

"Noah," Kurt and Rachel chided while Sebastian smirked over Puck's use of language and Dave suppressed a laugh.

"Honestly, I never really knew how my father felt about my sexual preferences," Hiram said. "He only ever met Leroy a handful of times and never really acknowledged us as a couple even though he knew we were. I suppose he preferred to ignore the truth rather than discuss it. He was never hateful but I can't say he was supportive either. Truthfully the man was somewhat more like a stranger than a father."

Sebastian turned his eyes to his plate and concentrated on his food, the similarities between his relationship with his father and Hiram's relationship with his father making him feel uncomfortable.

"Still," Hiram said with a cheerful grin. "If it were possible, I'd have very much loved the opportunity to take Leroy to Prom. Maybe you should give it some more thought," he advised Sebastian.

"You know," Rachel said. "Principal Figgins is already recruiting for chaperones for the Prom. Maybe you two could meet with him and offer to chaperone. That way you could finally attend the Prom together. It would be so romantic."

"Excuse me, I have to vomit," Sebastian muttered under his breath and Dave just smiled at him fondly.

It was a game night. A football game. Kurt couldn't possibly be any less interested. His dad was in his football shirt and screaming at the television screen with a beer in one hand and slice of pizza in the other, Paul sitting right beside him with a beer bottle and pizza slice of his own. Finn was on the floor and talking with his mouth full. Dave and Puck were sitting cross-legged on the floor together talking animatedly about the happenings on screen. Sebastian was sitting beside Kurt and he alternated between watching the game and peering over Kurt's shoulder to read the fashion magazine in the boy's hands.

"Why didn't I just ask if I could go shopping with Carole?" Kurt groaned regretfully as the other men (minus Sebastian) roared in delight over some guy running with a football.

"Why didn't I just stay at Dalton?" Sebastian asked. "Probably because I was hoping for some hardcore fucking," he answered his own question.

"Ssh," Kurt hissed at him looking nervously to his dad and Paul but they seemed not to have heard anything.

"This is brilliant," Burt declared pointing energetically at the T.V screen. "This is sporting genius at its best. Are you kids watching this?" he asked Kurt and Sebastian who both shot him a bored stare.

"Hey, Kurt, could you get me a drink, babe?" Puck asked not moving his eyes from the screen.

"Fine," Kurt agreed. "Dave, Finn?"

"Sure," Dave and Finn answered together staring transfixed at the television set.

"Come on, you're helping," Kurt told Sebastian as he led the way to the kitchen. "I don't know what it is," Kurt said conversationally as he set out three clean glasses on the kitchen unit. "But I just don't get the thrill of men gathering together to watch a football game. Yet they're all out there enjoying every second of it. I guess I always thought it was because I was gay but Noah and Dave clearly disprove that theory."

"I think it's a father and son bonding thing," Sebastian said thoughtfully as he watched Kurt pour drinks. "They all like sports so it's a common interest they can share together."

"But I don't take an interest in sports but I still have a great bond with my dad," Kurt pointed out.

"You guys have the car and mechanics thing," Sebastian replied. "That's something you've been doing with your dad since you were a little kid. Fixing up cars together is your equivalent of bonding over sports. Paul and Dave have a good relationship too but they don't actually have much in common. So they make a big deal out of this sports stuff because its something they can enjoy together. And Puck doesn't have a father figure in his life and Finn's is dead. With your dad and Finn's mum being together Burt naturally becomes the father figure in Finn's life. I'm guessing the first time the two of them bonded it was over something sport-related?"

"Yeah, yeah it was," Kurt recalled. "I was really jealous at the time."

"That's cute, Princess, real cute," Sebastian smirked and Kurt poked his tongue out at him much to the Dalton student's amusement. "And most guys bond with their girlfriends' father over sports so it makes sense for Puck to bond with Burt in the same way."

"I guess that makes sense," Kurt acknowledged.

"I'm not just a sexy body and gorgeous face," Sebastian replied. "I'm also quite the intellectual."

"So, do you and your dad bond over sports?" Kurt asked.

"My father and I don't bond over anything," Sebastian answered in a tone that suggested he were completely unbothered. "Now come on," he said picking up two of the filled glasses. "Our boys will want their drinks."

At the Puckerman household, Puck and Kurt were snuggled together on the sofa with a bowl full of chips and a bowl full of popcorn as they moved on to the third instalment of their Die Hard marathon. They had the house to themselves as Puck's mother was working a nightshift and his sister was at a girls' slumber party (which Kurt was fairly confident meant she was spending the night with a boy but he didn't dare share his suspicions with Noah).

"I could totally be Bruce Willis," Puck commented.

"You're much sexier than Bruce Willis," Kurt smiled.

"My looks are just a gift Satan gave me," Puck grinned back and Kurt moved in to kiss him. "What?" he asked curiously noticing how Kurt was gazing at him.

"Nothing," Kurt replied ducking his head shyly. "It's just… I never really noticed properly before but…"

"But?" Puck prompted with interest as his hand moved from Kurt's waist to cup his ass.

"You smile more now," Kurt answered.

"Well of course I do, I'm happy with you," Puck said. "Happier than I've been since… well, ever."

Not knowing how to respond, Kurt simply moved in for a deeper kiss.

"I'm happier than I've ever been too," Kurt declared. They kissed again and Kurt moved so he was straddling his boyfriend. "Mmm," Kurt moaned pulling Puck's lower lip between his teeth gently. "I'll see you upstairs," he said in a deeper tone than normal before moving off of Puck's lap and sashaying his hips as he left the room.

"Damn," Puck whistled fumbling for the remote and turned the T.V off before hurrying after his boyfriend.

By the time Puck reached his room, Kurt was already nude and had arranged himself seductively on Puck's bed, one hand stroking his cock to full hardness and a come-hither look in his eye.

In just a few quick movements, Puck was naked too and sucking at Kurt's pale throat as he rutted against him, Kurt's nails scratching down his back as he spread his legs to accommodate him.

"Mum," Sebastian complained, hiding his face in his hands as his mother relayed a few choice embarrassing tales from his youth to Dave and Paul Karofsky. "Will you stop? You're embarrassing me."

"I'm your mother, that's my right," Sienna replied mischievously and Dave chuckled at his boyfriend's expense. "Oh, did I tell you about the time Sebastian tried to make his own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?"

"Wait, what?" Dave laughed in amusement.

"It really isn't that funny," Sebastian said through clenched teeth.

"Oh it is," Sienna giggled picking up her wine glass. "He found a frog in the garden," she explained and Sebastian groaned while Dave and Paul listened attentively. "And at that age Sebastian reasoned that frogs were just turtles without shells. So he took the bottle of green shampoo from the bathroom and squirted it over the frog fully believing it would grow a shell and become a Ninja Turtle."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, I was like three years old ok," Sebastian mumbled defensively.

"Oh you were older than that," Sienna corrected. "You were seven, nearly eight."

"Man, I can't wait to retell these stories to Puck and Kurt," Dave said.

"Well that doesn't seem fair," Sebastian replied straightening up. "Paul, perhaps you'd like to share some stories from Dave's childhood?"

"What, no," Dave's face paled as his dad thought it over for a few moments before telling Sebastian and Sienna about the time when he'd got lost in a maze on a family day out.

"I'd already made it out of the maze with Dave's mother," Paul explained. "He was back with his Grandpa. Then his Grandpa came out but Dave wasn't with him. It turned out that Dave had been sat on the floor crying to himself for nearly fifteen minutes thinking he was lost when the exit was literally right around the corner from him."

"Aww," Sienna sighed. "How old were you… four… five?"

"Um…" Dave didn't provide an answer.

"Come on, Dave, how old were you?" Sebastian asked gleefully.

"Thirteen ok," Dave admitted.

"Thirteen," Sebastian laughed. "Oh, I love you."

Ordinarily, Sebastian had only said words of love to Dave in private. He'd certainly never voiced such words in the company of either of their parents, but his little declaration did not go unnoticed. Paul and Sienna shared a look with one another, Paul smiling brilliantly while Sienna came over a little misty-eyed.

"Well, I do hope everybody's ready for some dessert now?" Sienna asked.

"Please," Paul smiled at her.

Without being asked, Sebastian stood to help his mother bring in the crème brulee.

"Mmm, Sienna, this is delicious," Paul complimented her and Sebastian realised he couldn't ever remember a time when his father had congratulated his mother on her cooking or baking.

"I have to confess that Kurt shared a few of his secrets to help me improve the recipe," Sienna admitted. "That boy is such an angel in the kitchen."

"Yet according to Puck he's such a devil in the bedroom," Sebastian commented.

"Don't talk about my Princess that way," Sienna scolded.

"He's my Princess," Sebastian argued.

Friendly conversation carried them through the rest of dessert. They even took time for coffee before Paul and Dave readied themselves to head home.

"Dinner was lovely, Sienna, thank you for having us," Paul told her.

"Oh, any time," she replied as all four headed to the front door.

"It's a shame your husband couldn't join us," Paul commented.

"Well Stefan is so busy," Sienna defended. "I'm sure he'll be able to join us next time," she smiled while Sebastian rolled his eyes.

"I hope so," Paul said pulling on his coat. "Well, goodnight. Take care, Sebastian," he said and Sebastian nodded his head in response.

"Thank for a great night," Dave told Sienna and the woman stepped in to embrace him before moving back so Sebastian could make his goodbyes. "Call me later?"

"You know I will," Sebastian replied and the two boys kissed before Dave and his dad made their way out the front door.

Together, Sebastian and his mother moved back through to the dining room and gathered up all the cutlery and crockery and carried it into the kitchen. They got to work on cleaning up, Sebastian washing the dishes while his mother dried them and put them away.

"So, you love Dave?" Sienna asked with a teasing smile.

"Oh… shut up," Sebastian retorted.

"Don't be shy," Sienna smiled stepping up behind him and coiling her arms around her son's waist. "I think its adorable that you love him. I'm so happy for my baby boy."

"I'm not a baby," Sebastian objected with a slight whine to his voice.

"You'll always be my big baby," Sienna replied firmly as she swayed him from side to side.

The sound of the front door being opened and closed signalled Stefan's return home. He entered the kitchen, briefcase in one hand and cell phone in the other.

"Sorry I couldn't make dinner," he apologised. "I just got caught up with a…"

"A really important case," Sebastian finished his sentence for him. "Yeah, I know," he glowered drying his wet hands. "I'm going to get my stuff and drive back to Dalton," he said before storming out of the kitchen without a backwards glance.

"So… how was dinner?" Stefan asked his wife.

"If you'd been here like you promised you wouldn't need to ask," she responded as she resumed with the washing-up.

"I try, Sienna, I do try," Stefan insisted as he set his briefcase down. "Sebastian's just so stubborn and…"

"Sebastian isn't the problem," Sienna interrupted. "You're the one who lets him down and disappoints him all the time."

"I don't do it on purpose," Stefan defended and Sienna turned on her heels to survey her husband, taking in all the visual similarities of her husband and son as well as all the differences. "I just have a very important and very demanding job."

"We know that," Sienna replied. "And we also know that any time that phone rings you'll answer it."

She turned back and finished the washing-up in silence, Stefan quietly watching her.

"Enna," Stefan sighed out and the woman turned to look at him in surprise. It had been so many years since he'd called her that. "Is it just my relationship with Sebastian that's failing, or is ours failing too?"

"I've been responsible for my own orgasms for the past three years," she said bluntly, just like her son would. "We rarely share a meal together, I spend our anniversaries watching movies with our son while you work on cases and at times I truly struggle to remember why I ever fell in love with you," Sienna answered, her voice gentle but her words honest and harsh.

"Then why are we still married?" Stefan asked. "Why haven't you left me? Why haven't you…?" he trailed off.

"Cheated?" Sienna asked and Stefan bristled at the word. "I'm not the type of woman to be unfaithful, I never have been nor shall I ever be. And just because I struggle to remember why I fell in love with you sometimes doesn't mean that I've ever stopped. You're my husband and I take marriage seriously. Marriage is forever, for better or worse. Of course I had hoped for better."

"So, how long exactly have you been unhappy in our marriage but stayed with me anyway?" Stefan asked.

"Our son makes me happy, that's enough," Sienna replied.

"No, no it isn't," Stefan said. "I should… I should be here more. I should make time for dinner. I should watch Sebastian's Football games."

"He plays Lacrosse," Sienna corrected.

"I should spend time with my son," Stefan said.

"Yes, you should," Sienna agreed.

"I should make love to you," Stefan continued.

"Chance would be a fine thing," Sienna muttered under her breath.

"I should be a good man," Stefan said. "I can be. I will be."

"You'll try," Sienna replied. "But inevitably that phone will ring. And you'll answer. Like you always do."

She moved to walk past him but he caught her wrist and pulled her back to him. He lifted his hands to her face and gazed at her reverently.

"Oh, Enna," he sighed leaning in, his breath caressing her lips.

"Stefan," she sighed back just as his phone started to ring. "Of course," she scoffed, rolling her eyes in a manner uncanny to Sebastian. "Well, go on, you'd better answer," she told him with a sad smile.

"No," Stefan said ignoring his phone and kissing his wife desperately before taking her on the kitchen floor.

After making the finishing touches to his Prom outfit, Kurt took up his cell phone and made a call to Sebastian.

"Hello, Princess," Sebastian greeted.

"Bas, please, come to the Prom, for Dave," Kurt pleaded.

"No," Sebastian replied firmly. "Now, look fabulous, have a good night, be extra slutty for me but leave me the fuck alone."

"But…" Kurt tried only for Sebastian to hang up on him. "The boy is a nightmare," he said to the Judy Garland poster on his bedroom wall before venturing downstairs to show off his outfit to his dad, Carole, Finn, Rachel, Puck, Dave and Mercedes. "Well… do I look fabulous, or do I look fabulous?"

"Oh, so handsome," Carole gushed proudly.

"If you were straight and we were married I'd totally get intimate with you, white boy," Mercedes claimed.

"And I am flattered," Kurt told her taking her hand and pressing a kiss to it.

"You really missed out with me, Kurt," Mercedes informed him with a cheeky smile. "Puck may have great arms but my chocolate thunder would have rocked your world."

"It has, 'Cedes, it has," he winked at her.

"Alright, kids," Burt called out clapping his hands together. "Group up together, we want some photos."

They spent at least twenty minutes creating different poses and having various pictures taken before the teenagers piled into the limo that would drive them to Prom.

At Dalton Academy, Sebastian was in the Common Room with some of his fellow Warblers as they worked on various essay assignments.

"Is this translation correct?" Jeff asked pushing his French essay to Sebastian to look over. "What… what's funny?" Jeff questioned self-consciously when the boy who spoke fluent French openly laughed.

"By getting two words wrong you've unintentionally written an entire paragraph about bowel movement," Sebastian informed him.

"Well help me fix it," Jeff pleaded.

"Relax, Goldilocks, its an easy fix," Sebastian assured him as he helped the blonde correct his work.

A knock sounded at the door and Trent stepped through casting a sheepish look to Sebastian.

"Trent?" Thad prompted. "Is all well?"

"Um, Sebastian, your dad's here to see you," Trent said.

"You must be mistaken," Sebastian replied.

"Sebastian, son," Stefan said stepping into the room behind Trent.

"How do I write 'your dad is insanely hot' in French?" Jeff asked Sebastian in a whisper, earning himself a look of utmost digust.

"Is something wrong?" Sebastian asked setting his pen down and standing up. "Is mum ok?"

"Your mum is fine," Stefan assured. "Come, step into the corridor with me."

"If you'll all excuse me," Sebastian said to his peers before following his father out into the school halls. "What are you doing here?" Sebastian demanded to know as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"I might ask you the same thing," Stefan countered and Sebastian furrowed his brow. "Shouldn't you be at the Prom with Dave?"

"Shouldn't you be working on a precious case?" Sebastian retorted darkly.

"This conversation isn't about me, Sebastian," Stefan said folding his arms across his chest as he stood a metre away from his son, their postures strikingly similar. "Now, tell me, man to man, father to son, why aren't you dancing with your boyfriend at the Prom?"

"Because I don't want to," Sebastian said snidely. "And Dave understands, so just leave me alone and mind your own business."

"Careful, son," Stefan warned. "With an attitude like that you could turn out like me."

"I'm nothing like you," Sebastian objected fiercely.

"I'm sorry to say that I can't remember the last time I danced with your mother," Stefan said. "Or the last time I bought her flowers, or just walked down the street with her hand-in-hand. I've been so engrossed in my career that I've neglected the two people I love most."

"I had noticed," Sebastian retorted sourly.

"Well, today you're refusing to dance with your boyfriend at Prom," Stefan said. "What will you be refusing to do for him tomorrow, or in a year, or in ten years? How much are you prepared to miss out on?"

"It's just a stupid dance," Sebastain replied.

"Today its just a stupid dance," Stefan commented. "Tomorrow it could be Valentines Day. Or Dave's Birthday, your anniversary, your child's Lacrosse game… or just a family dinner."

"Yeah, well… it's too late," Sebastian shrugged putting his hands in his pockets. "I've got nothing to wear and no way to get there."

"I have a tux you can borrow!" Jeff called through the Common Room door.

Rolling his eyes, Sebastian swiftly moved towards the Common Room and wrenched the door open. As a result, a pile of Warblers collapsed to the floor, all looking up at him sheepishly.

"Ok, Warblers," Trent said pushing himself to his feet and pulling Nick up. "Let's get Sebastian to that Prom."

"Unnecessary," Sebastian commented in annoyance as he was hauled over one of the boy's shoulders and carried up to Jeff's dorm room. "I'm pretty sure this qualifies as sexual harassment," he said as Nick and Thad stripped him off.

Jeff and Trent then worked together to help Sebastian into Jeff's tux.

"I'm a little offended that my tux looks better on you than it does me but nevermind," Jeff said as he smoothed out the jacket. "Well, I'd say you're ready to go Prince Charming."

"Come, your carriage awaits," Trent held his hand out to Sebastian and led him away from Jeff's room.

"Be back by midnight!" Thad called out.

"Suck my dick!" Sebastian retorted.

"Have fun, my friend," Trent said at the school entrance. He then gave Sebastian an encouraging shove and the boy moved down the concrete steps to slip into the passenger seat of his father's car.

On the drive to McKinley, Stefan made several attempts to engage his son in conversation but Sebastain merely made non-commital noises in his throat as he stared out the window.

Finally, they arrived at their destination and both Smythe men stepped out of the car.

"Enjoy your night," Stefan said.

"Yeah," Sebastian replied. "Um, thanks, dad," he said, both of them feeling an odd jolt at the word 'dad'. Feeling awkward, Sebastian offered out his hand for his dad to shake. The older Smythe's hand closed around his. Deep inside himself, Sebastian felt a yearning to throw his arms around his father in a hug, but he ignored the temptation and dropped his father's hand before turning away from him and heading into McKinley High School for the Prom.

The music was blaring, lights were blinding, dresses were sparkling, people were dancing and Sue Sylvesters punch was quite possibly poisoned. Moving through the mass of bodies, Sebastian scanned his eyes about the room in search of his boyfriend.

Laughing as Dave twirled her about, Mercedes spotted Sebastian making his way through the crowd. Smiling widely, Mercedes tapped Dave on the shoulder and pointed in Sebastian's direction. A half-smile formed on Dave's mouth before breaking out into a full-on grin that lit up his entire face.

"Hey," Dave breathed out when Sebastian was standing directly in front of him.

"Hey," Sebastian replied.

"You're late, white boy," Mercedes sassed before moving away to dance with Artie, Quinn and Sam.

"Dance with me?" Sebastian asked offering out his hand.

"I'd love to," Dave answered and Sebastian smiled before leading his boyfriend to the centre of the hall.

As they slow-danced together, many of the students moved away from them. Before the chorus of the song had kicked in, the only students remaining with them on the dance floor were the New Directions.

"Well, I've got to hand it to you, William," Sue commented as she stood beside the Glee Club Director in her red tracksuit. "Even though I want to punch those kids in the face every time they ruin yet another song, I've got to hand it to you, those whiny little misfits of yours are the most accepting and open-minded teenagers in this entire school. And because of that, I'm going to tell you to your face that I've been slipping cheesey chips in your ridiculous hair all night. Good talking to you, buddy," she clapped him on the arm before moving along, leaving him to reach a hand up to pull a cheesey chip out of his curls.

Also chaperoning at the Prom were Mr and Mr Berry.

"That could have been us," Hiram said wistfully to his husband as he looked out at Dave dancing with Sebastian, Kurt dancing with Puck and Santana dancing with Brittany.

"It still can," Leroy smiled setting his drink down and taking Hiram's hand to lead him out on to the dance floor.

In Finn's arms, Rachel jumped up and down excitedly to see her two dad's slow-dancing together at the Prom.

"But don't forget who's taking you home, and in who's arms you're gonna be," Sebastian and Kurt sang out as they climbed up the stairs towards Dave's bedroom. "Darling, save the last dance for me."

"I think our boys had too much of Coach Sylvester's punch," Puck said to Dave as they followed their boyfriends up the stairs, finding the other pair collapsed on top of Dave's bed and giggling.

"You could be right," Dave smiled in amusement. "I already set things up so you and Kurt can sleep in the spare room."

"Cool," Puck said giving his best friend a fist-bump. "Hey, Kurt, come on, babe. Say goodnight to your pet Meerkat."

"Goodnight, pet Meerkat," Kurt giggled as he stroked Sebastian's hair.

"Night, Princess," Sebastian replied. "Night, Puck."

"Night, Bas, be sure to misbehave," Puck said.

"Always do," Sebastian smirked.

"Night, bro," Puck said to Dave.

"Goodnight, Davey," Kurt said letting Puck carry him to the spare room.

Dave stepped out of his smart shoes and stripped off his tux before neatly folding it all on his desk chair. Stood in just his boxers, he sat on his bed and reached a hand out to card his fingers through Sebastian's hair, the action making his boyfriend moan in contentment.

"Thank you for coming tonight," Dave said sincerely. "It really means a lot to me."

"Mmm, you mean everything to me," Sebastian responded taking Dave's hand and pressing a kiss to his knuckles.

"I love you," Dave kissed his boyfriend's lips.

"Love you more," Sebastian replied tiredly.

Gazing down at him fondly, Dave set to work on removing Sebastian's shoes and ridding him of his clothing. He tucked him under the covers and dropped a kiss to his forehead before crossing to his bedroom window. He pushed it open and stuck his head out, closing his eyes as he basked in the glow of the moon and the cool night air. An odd sensation then tingled at the back of his neck and he felt compelled to crouch on the floor and look under his bed. Roaming his hand around, his fingers came in to contact with something and he pulled it out. In his hands, he found the strip he had tried to hang himself with all those months ago.

Clutching the strip in his fingers, he moved back to his window. His throat tightened as he recalled the memory of dangling from his bedroom ceiling. Back then, he'd woken up in a hospital room wishing desperately that he had died.

"Not anymore," Dave said to the night air before launching the strip he'd tried to hang himself with out of the window.

That night, all four boys drifted off to sleep with a smile.
