"Oh man! Bionic Bunny will be on soon!"
Everyone knew who had yelled that. It was obviously Arthur. Ignoring the fact that it was his favorite after-school television program, he was one of the only kids at school who dared yell in the hallway. Everyone else feared the wrath of Mr. Ratburn.
"Outta my way!" Arthur warned, dashing through the halls, his pal Buster not far behind him. They sprinted out the front door, through the woods, and made it to Arthur's house in record time! They even had a few minutes to spare!
"One of these days, you have to buy a DVR. It might just come in handy," Buster said, breathing heavily.
"Shut up, Buster. With all the food you eat, you could use the exercise," Arthur snapped, forgetting that Buster never actually seemed to gain weight, no matter what he ate.
"As if you can talk, Arthur," Buster muttered under his breath. After all, it was Arthur who had the weight problem a while back.
This made Arthur upset. Buster was trash-talking him! In his own house! But Arthur would fix that…
"You have to leave, now," Arthur said calmly. "You can forget about Bionic Bunny. Go watch it at your house, with your dad. Oh wait: He left!"
Buster's eyes widened.
"But you know my mom wouldn't buy me a TV! How can I watch it? You can't do this to me! Aren't we pals?"
"My only pal is Pal. Come here, boy!" Arthur yelled.
Pal came running, dragging a huge steak with him. He probably stole it, but that didn't matter. Bionic Bunny was the most important thing in the world!
"I'm not leaving, and you can't make me! I have rights, you know!" Buster said, folding his arms in defiance.
Arthur sighed. He hated to do this to his "pal", but frankly, Bionic Bunny would be on in like two minutes, so he had to rush. He snapped his fingers, and then stomped his feet twice. Buster looked at him like he was insane.
But then Pal started growling, and grew until he was the size of a wolf. Buster screamed in fear.
"Good-bye, Buster," Arthur said.
Buster ran out the door, chased by the holy abomination that was Pal. Arthur laughed, and sat down to watch his sacred cartoon. He flicked on the TV set. Nothing happened, the screen remained dark. Confused, Arthur ran to get his mom. As he was leaving, he failed to notice the TV remote on the floor. He stepped on it.
"Whoops. I think I broke it. OH NO! I'm gonna miss Bionic Bunny! AHHHHHH!"
The End
Author's Notes
For those who don't know, the "As if you can talk" line is a reference to an Arthur episode where the title character gained weight, and couldn't even fit in his clothes! I always thought it was weird that Buster didn't get an episode like that. 0_0
