I wanted to post this as the next chapter of 'My Special Star', but then I realized it'd be longer, so here it is for you as one-shot. I'm sorry for my bad grammar, I'm not native speaker...

Enjoy! :)

Story: Show Me
By: Mischel

It took a while to Arthur to finally say it. To finally ask. But when he mused about it a while, he knew he actually wanted to see some magic. Magic by his Merlin. It's been just a few hours he found out about Merlin's skills. But he wasn't much surprised. He knew the boy was hiding something. Something that was all around him, in each his movement, in him, but no one ever realized what it was. No one ever thought about it a bit deeper. Not even Arthur.

But now, in the silent of a night in the forest, with a warm fire burning in between them, between him and Merlin, there wasn't anything that could stop him from asking. He wanted to see Merlin doing what he truly was. To see his smile and eyes sparkling when he was doing so. He wanted Merlin to be himself. He wanted him to be free and not being afraid anymore. He wanted to see the real Merlin, Merlin's magic.

"Can you show me?" Arthur asked carefully, making Merlin to look up at him from his pensive and lost gaze. And then, Merlin smiled. And Arthur smiled too. Merlin knew what Arthur wanted to see and was glad for it.

"I almost thought you weren't ever going to ask." the young warlock smiled even more, his eyes beaming with joy. He took a deep breath and watched the flames a while. Arthur was watching Merlin's face, waiting for anything to happen. Because with Merlin, anything was possible. And then, slowly but surely, Merlin reached out his hand towards the fire, closed his eyes briefly and whispered:

"Upastige draca." It was still his voice, but Arthur felt some kind of power in it. Some energy. Merlin was doing magic and that was powerful enough event. Arthur was still watching his friend's face and right after Merlin spoke in the ancient language, his beautiful blue eyes flashed with another colour. A powerful, pure colour of magic, colour of Merlin - gold. It was so beautiful and so powerful that Arthur didn't even realize it, but his mouth remained open all of the time with a broad smile.

And when Merlin's irises were gleaming gold, there, in the flames suddenly appeared a little dragon, made of shining yellow sparks. It flew around the fire a few times, waving its little, yet so majestic wings. And then Arthur felt something different. Not just the power of it all. But the warmth and happiness of the magic in front of him. Of Merlin. The warm feeling that felt so familiar. Like a wave of sudden warmth, beauty and love. That was what Merlin's magic felt like. And that was also what Arthur wanted to feel forever. The power of friendship, brotherhood, love and magic all around him, swirling and flying, never stopping.

He couldn't even believe that his father called this evil. It was just a power. And it was on a man how will he use it. Yes, some wanted to use their magic to destroy and kill. And that was evil. But the others, the wiser ones, used their magic to help. To heal, to save lives, to show its beauty and naturalness. Just like Merlin did. And that was something Arthur never wanted to lose. That was something he never wanted to fight against. But something he wanted to be free. He wanted to see so much, to learn so much, and most of all, he wanted to do so with Merlin by his side. And he knew Merlin won't ever leave him. He knew he will have his younger friend, his brother, always with him.

Merlin and the beauty of his magic.
