Jaune had a nightmare. And it wasn't the usual 'get chased by a beowolf' or 'fall off a cliff and wake up before you hit the ground', no. This nightmare was like nothing ever before. He witnessed all of his friends, his family, mercilessly killed. He heard their screams of agony, saw their flesh ripped from their bones ever so slowly. It was horrible. To make it even worse…

He was the one who had killed them.

The young knight was awoken from the dream when a loud alarm was rung, making him spring up from his bed. However, the room he was in was almost completely black, so Jaune fumbled over his blanketsand hit the floor. It took him a moment to collect his bearings and sit up on the cold tiled floor.

Where was he? …. Oh right, the infirmary. The lights were off, and the only light in the room was what little moonlight shined in from the window. Finally, getting up, he picked up his scroll off his sheets and looked it over. The alarm had been a wakeup call from Ozpin. Yep, right at four o' clock. Wait, wasn't Ruby supposed to be here too…? Using his scroll as a light source, he looked over at the bed next to his, and sure enough, Ruby was sleeping soundly. How had she slept through all the noise? Never mind, that really wasn't important.

Jaune took a quick look around the room and noticed two fresh sets of clothing, one for Ruby and one for him. Good, the thin cloth hospital gown he had woken up in was not giving him the most comfort. He figured now would be a good time to get dressed while she was sleeping, and quickly did so. A light blush crept across his cheeks when he was down to his boxers. Sure, she was asleep and it was very dark, but Ruby was still in the room. It was the first time he'd changed in front of a girl, albeit an unconscious one, but a girl nonetheless. Needless to say, he dressed as quickly as he could.

After he'd made sure he had everything he needed, and put his scroll in his pocket, Jaune walked over to his friend's sleeping form. Lightly, he shook her shoulder. "Ruby." The blonde spoke her name gently, yet loud enough to wake her. "Ruby, it's time to get up. It's the first day of training." After a few more seconds of shaking her, she opened up her eyes, not that she could see much.

"Jaune?" She asked, his name turning into a yawn halfway through. After a quick confirmation from the knight, she stretched out her arms and gave a tired moan. Surprisingly, her muscles didn't hurt that much like they had the day before. It had been reduced down to a dull ache. "Mmmm….. What time is it?" Ruby wondered sleepily.

"Around four o' clock." He answered. "We need to hurry, we have to meet Ozpin and Goodwitch at the training hall." Even with his urging, Ruby got out of bed at a relatively slow pace. "I'll wait in the hall while you get changed, there are some clothes for you right over there." The knight pointed to her clothes with his scroll light. She nodded and he hastily made his exit. While she changed, Jaune checked his scroll, 4:15. They were making surprisingly good time.

The hallway was much brighter than their dark room. The florescent lights were all turned on. He assumed the patient rooms were all kept dark during the late and early hours. Left with nothing better to do, the blonde briefly asked himself why he felt so awake at such an early hour. Ruby was having trouble, like any normal teenager, yet he felt alright. Was it the nightmare that had spurred his body into action, therefore making him fully alert? Maybe…. Now that he was thinking about it, what had caused the nightmare? He had just assumed it was due to the GB in his system, but Ruby appeared to have slept fine. He would have to ask her when she was finished.

"Okay, Jaune, let's go."

Speak of the devil…

The small, red hooded girl appeared next to him, still looking a bit drowsy but otherwise fine. She gave him a small smile and he returned it. They exited the infirmary, relieved that they didn't have to sign any release forms or something of the sort, the lady at the front desk just gave them a nod of understanding and went back to her crossword puzzle. As they began towards the training hall, Jaune looked over Ruby.

"So, uh, how'd you sleep?" He asked with a curious tone. She gave him an odd look.

"Good I guess." She answered. "Why, how did you sleep?"

Jaune rubbed the back of his neck and he shifted his gaze up to the fading stars. "…Not so good, had a pretty bad nightmare." He replied, inciting a worried expression from his friend. "I thought it was because of the GB, but if you didn't have one then I guess I was wrong." A few moments of silenced passed before Ruby spoke again.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Her voice was filled with concern.

The blonde thought back to the graphic dream before shaking his head. "No," He responded. "Better not, no need to get those images in your head." She seemed to reluctantly accept the answer.

After a few more minutes of walking without saying anything, Ruby broke the silence.

"Are you nervous?" She asked.

"Yeah, nervous and scared." He told her honestly. "I'm kinda worried something's gonna go wrong again. What about you?"

The reaper waited a few moment before replying. "I'm scared it will work. I'm also scared it won't…"

They walked the rest of the way in silence.

When they finally arrived at the training hall, they found the headmaster and Glynda waiting for them. Jaune got a déjà vu from two nights ago. The hall was set to its default setting, and was simply covered in blue mats.

"Hello sir, Ms. Goodwitch." The two students greeted. Ozpin said 'hello', Glynda merely nodded.

"It's 4:30." The headmaster said blankly. "So, we must hurry to get on with training. Allow me to explain your training for today. Today, Mrs. Rose you will be staying here with Mrs. Goodwitch, Jaune you will be with me. Clear? Good, let's get going." He spoke quickly, and didn't give the students a chance to answer.

"But first," The headmaster paused and reached in his pocket, pulling out a familiar clear pill bottle. "Take your pills." With only a small amount of hesitation, the knight and the reaper took the small black pills

The sensation was just as euphoric as the first time. So pleasurable, they once again quickly lost control. Their demeanors changed from kind and awkward leaders, to crazy unpredictable killers.

"Jaune, you're with me, come on." Ozpin commanded firmly. He decided earlier that if his students were to listen to him while under the influence of GB, he would have to be the dominant one.

Jaune, a sickening smile on his face, let out a creepy chuckle. "Yes sir." He replied to the older man in an almost mocking tone. He gave Ruby a small salute before following Ozpin into one of the training rooms.

Now left alone, Ruby looked up at Goodwitch. "So Glynda," She almost spit out the name. "What'cha got for me? Do I get to slaughter something today?" Her voice was playful yet menacing. The woman, however, didn't seem fazed by it, just annoyed.

"It's Ms. Goodwitch to you." She replied bitterly, causing the hooded girl to roll her eyes. Glynda pressed a few buttons on her tablet, which always seemed to be in her hands, and the room switched from its default setting to a track field. A circular track was suddenly surrounding them. "Today," The blonde woman continued in a deadpan, "You will be focusing on speed and a bit of stamina. I want you to run one lap around the track as fast as you can. The track hall will time you."

"That's it?" Ruby asked, genuinely surprised. "I don't even need the GB for this, you're just wasting my time!" She exclaimed. After a bit of arguing between the two, the teen eventually gave in and lined up at the starting line.

Glynda pressed a few more buttons as Ruby got into her positon before loudly exclaiming, "Go!" The reaper shot off and around the track, finishing in what the training hall deemed to be three seconds flat. The woman looked over the time. "Impressive." She muttered quietly.

"I told you!" The young teen shouted at her, not having broken a sweat yet. "Now why don't you give me something actually challenging?!"

Goodwitch smiled to herself, but it was hidden behind the tablet. "Now do 100 laps. Then a thirty second break, and then 100 more!" Perhaps she was enjoying this too much.

In one of the smaller practice rooms, Jaune waited not-so-patiently for Ozpin to tell him what to do.

"Come on pops!" The young blonde exclaimed. "Give me something to do, I'm bored outta my skin here!" Ozpin looked up from his scroll.

"You've only been waiting ten seconds, I just had to check a message." The grey haired man responded.

"Still bored." Jaune replied.

"Okay." Ozpin pointed to the weight bench in the middle of the room, which Jaune had somehow missed. It was equipped with what appeared to be a thirty five pound metal bar, but no weight. "Please lay down on the bench." Happy to finally be doing something, Jaune obeyed. When he was ready and had his hands on the bar, Ozpin stood behind him. "Today, you will be working on strength and stamina. You will begin lifting this bar, and every time you complete one rep, five pounds will be added, two point five to each side."

"Child's play." The blonde quipped. "Bring it on!"

The older man sighed. "Very well, begin!" Jaune did so and started to lift the bar up and down, each time more weight was added. He lasted for a very long time, even though towards the end he began to get slower, he was able to lift around 400 pounds before the bar fell on his chest. For a moment, he struggled beneath the heavy thing, gasping and wheezing for air. But Ozpin quickly snapped his fingers and almost all the weight disappeared. The knight immediately pushed the bar off of him.

As the teenager gasped, Ozpin couldn't help but smirk. "Shame, I thought you could take more than that." He mocked. Jaune's head whipped back to face the man.

"Come on pops, I'm going again!" He growled as he reset the bar.

When 7:20 rolled around, Ozpin led a very tired Jaune back to the main training hall. The boy had gone seven rounds, by the last round he'd only been able to manage 150 pounds. When they made it back to the main hall, they were surprised to find an amused Glynda Goodwitch standing over Ruby, who had collapsed on the ground from exhaustion, though she was still conscious, which was proven when she pushed herself to stand up, her legs visibly shaking.

"L…let me g-go again." Ruby said between gasps.

"No, you're done for today." Glynda deadpanned.

Ozpin and Jaune made their way over to them, but the two teachers stood behind their students.

"What are you guys doing?" Jaune asked.

"Waiting for the inevitable." The old man responded.

The teens didn't have a chance to respond, as they both fainted, falling like puppets with cut strings. Luckily, their teachers were their to catch them.
