Chapter 5

APOV

I was in a dark room. I couldn't see anything. Then there was light from a lightbulb hanging from the ceiling of the dark room. It shone down on a woman with long pink hair. She held her hand out to me.

"Mom!" I ran forward and threw my arms around her. She hugged me back tenderly.

"Oh, Aelita," she kissed my forehead, "You've grown so much, honey!"

I was crying, refusing to let go of her, "I've missed you! Where have you been all this time? You must come back with me," I stepped back pulling her hand to follow me, but she didn't move and smiled weakly.

"I can't go," she shook her head.

"What? But-"

"Listen to me, Aelita. You have a sister. You know that now," she said looking behind her then back at me as if someone might be watching, "You are all she has now. You must find her, protect her. Your father and I are gone but you still have each other. You both are in danger, you must be careful."

"Danger? What danger? Xana?" I asked, "And you aren't gone, you're here with me now. We can be a family again, but Daddy…I couldn't save him."

She put her hand on my cheek, "I know, honey. It wasn't your fault. You've been so strong through all of this. You're going to be just fine without us."

"Why do you keep saying that? You're fine. You're right here with me," I said stepping forward to hug her again but she backed away.

"I have to go now. I love you, take care of Alice, stay safe and stop them."

"Stop who?" I asked but it seemed like the light and her were getting smaller, being taken away from me. I ran after her, but she kept getting smaller in the distance and even though I was running, it seemed I was going backwards.

"Mom!" I screamed, "Don't go! Don't go!" I tripped and fell into the never ending darkness.

Now I was in my house, the hermitage. I was laying on my bed, with Mister Puck in my hands. Clutching him tightly, I got up and went to the window.

Outside men in dark suits and glasses surrounded the house. They seemed to stare up at me with hateful expressions. Then they morphed into wolves and closed in around the house. I saw my father come outside with a stick of some sort for a weapon.

I banged on the glass, "Daddy! You have to get away from there!" I turned and ran to my bedroom door but it wouldn't open. I was locked in.

I ran back to the window to see a wolf jump and lunge for my father's throat and the rest followed, attacking him mercilessly. He tried to fight them off but it was no use. He was overtaken by them.

I screamed and banged on the window. I had to save him!

"Aelita,"Odd's voice. I stopped looking around for him. He sounded so close I thought he was in the room with me. But I couldn't see him.

"Aelita, wake up," I watched the room around me blur.

I opened my eyes which were burning from tears, and I saw Odd's face looking down at me. I looked around. I was in Odd and Ulrich's room. None of it was real it was all a dream.

"Oh!" I sat up embarrassed wiping my eyes. Odd was next to me rubbing my back.

"Nightmare?" he asked softly.

"Not at first it wasn't," I sighed, "What time is it?"

"About 3," he stretched smirking a little.

"We slept a long time," I said.

"Yep, what did you dream of?" he asked getting up. His hair was messed up a little, but still cute.

I stood up and stretched also. Then I told him all about the dream, my mother, my father, and the wolves. He listened intently and fixed his hair.

"What do you think it means?" I asked finally, "Or do you think there's nothing to it and it's just a dream."

"Not sure, princess. You've had a lot on your mind lately. If you have the same dream over and over then I think it means something," he smiled crookedly at me. Oh how he looked handsome today!

"Yes, but this dream seemed different from all the rest," I told him, "I think it's a sign maybe, or a warning. I need to find my sister." I truly believed that. My mother had never appeared in a dream like that before. It was as if she found a way to get inside my head and warn me, her spirit perhaps, but that was crazy right? Still…it seemed so real.

He didn't say anything but sat on the bed again looking deep in thought.

"What's wrong?" I asked moving to stand in front of him.

"Nothing, princess," he smiled up at me, "You should go to your sister now instead of waiting for Saturday if that's what you want. Take Jeremy's offer."

"Go but…no. No I can't. I can't miss classes," I shook my head, "And I want to stay with you."

He smiled thoughtfully, "If I went it would probably be awkward. I don't know her and she doesn't even know you yet, it's probably for the best if I don't go."

I wanted to protest, but he was probably right. I sighed, "Ok, but I don't want to be gone long. It's difficult to be away from you right now," my father's face came to my mind and I felt all my strength of fighting the anguish shatter even though Odd was with me.

"Me too," he took my hand and I sat down on the bed next to him.

I knew my grief for my father was going to get the best of me today. I was already crying, "I miss him so much," an ugly sob escaped me.

Odd put his arms around me, "I know," he held me tight, "I know. It's going to be ok." He stroked my hair softly as sobs shook my whole body. I was embarrassed but I had to let it out. He leaned back against the wall so he could hold me better and handed me a handkerchief. I lay on top of him. He held me tight and calmed me. "You're ok," he said softly, "I'm here." He held me close trying to stop the trembling I couldn't control waiting out the worst of it until I managed to relax and stop sobbing.

"I'm…sorry," I told him embarrassed.

"Don't be," he kissed my forehead and I blushed furiously. What was up with my emotions today? Then he said, "You know crying like that isn't weakness, Aelita, it means you've been strong for far too long."

"Odd," I almost whispered my voice full of emotion. The love I was feeling for him was overwhelming. Then it combined with need, need almost to the point of pain. I had to have him now. It felt like I had to have him or I'd die.

I looked up at him and he recognized the look in my eyes.

"Aelita wa-" he started but I cut him off in searing kiss. I put everything I felt for him in that kiss. I needed him now and I knew he would try to stop me. If I had any chance I'd have to get him carried away. However kissing him made my need that much worse, a cherry bomb in the fire. My heart pounded and he kissed me back twice the same way, almost giving in before he stopped, pulling away. My lips felt cold without his.

I moved to kiss his neck and he protested, "Aelita," he sounded as breathless as I was, "Calm down."

My hands where under his shirt and I sighed when I felt his bare skin. His hands where on mine trying to stop me and I pressed my lips back to his in an effort to get him to relax. He kissed me back then tried to gently push me off of him.

"We can't," he breathed out, "Please stop."

"Lay down," I pleaded ignoring him kissing his neck, "I'm sorry I can't…I need you," my voice sounded different, almost desperate.

"I can't," he said with a little more authority and tilted my head up so I could look into his eyes, "It wouldn't be right. You're feeling vulnerable because of your father's death." His words had no effect, and his eyes made my longing for him even more unbearable. My breathing was hitched as our eyes were locked and his eyes were getting darker with desire too.

"I know what I'm doing," I insisted and tried to kiss him again, frantic to feel him, but he moved his head so his lips were just out of my reach. I couldn't scoot up because his arms held me in place.

I put my hands on the back of his neck tugging on his hair, "Please," I was on the verge of tears, "Please," I whispered against his lips.

He didn't say anything else, just brought his lips back to mine surrendering with a groan.

UPOV

I reached into my pants pocket, fishing out my phone since it vibrated. I hoped it was Yumi, but it was Odd. He told me not to come back to our room for a while, that he and Aelita were talking. I held back a laugh. Half of the words were misspelled like he'd typed them in a rush. Must be a pretty interesting "talk". I texted back 'ok want me to guard the door?' just for a laugh. I knew he wouldn't answer.

I had just gotten out of my last class of the day (again) and Yumi came up to me. I smiled at her, "Hey."

"Hi Ulrich," her cheeks turned red, "Have you seen Aelita? She hasn't answered my texts and I thought she wanted to stay at my house tonight," she checked her watch, "And I've got to be home in an hour to babysit Hiroki."

I smirked, "Nope, haven't seen her."

She raised an eyebrow, "You sure?" then she rolled her eyes, "She's with Odd, isn't she?"

I nodded chuckling.

"Well why didn't you just say so? I'll just go get her, where are they?" she asked.

I shook my head, "Maybe you should let them be for now," I suggested.

"Why? What are they doing?"

I showed her Odd's text and she understood and smiled a little, "Oh, well then I won't go find her then."

"Yeah," I chuckled, "its fine. I'm sure he'll just walk her to your house later on after their...um…conversation. That's kind of weird she'd be in mood for that when her father has just died though," I said giving her a puzzled look.

"People deal with grief in different ways. She's been on an emotional rollercoaster these past few days, and she's probably just reaching out to who she loves most. It doesn't surprise me," she smiled at me blushing a little.

"I just hope they stay off my bed," I said and she laughed.

"Imagine what Jeremy would say," she frowned and shook her head.

I shrugged, "He said he was over her."

"People can say a lot of things. It doesn't make them true," she said and took my hand.

"Fair enough," I chuckled.

"You want to come over for a while?" she asked and I smiled and nodded. We headed for her house.

JPOV

I searched the campus for Aelita, wanting to make sure she didn't want to go tomorrow to meet Alice but I couldn't find her. I texted Ulrich and asked where she was and there was no answer. I knew none of the others would probably tell me either so I went to the girls' dorms looking for her. I knocked on her door, I called her name then cautiously walked in. She wasn't there. Where was she?

I walked upstairs to the boys' dorms intending to check the one place I didn't look. I came up to Odd and Ulrich's dorm and before I knocked on the door I heard something, like a groan of someone in pain. Starting to worry Xana had attacked or something I grabbed the knob and twisted. A lock stopped my hand, and I raised an eyebrow. As long as I've known Ulrich and Odd, they never locked their door. Now I was really confused.

Then I heard Aelita's voice faintly, "Odd," it was a sigh. OH. Oh I was dumb! I quickly turned and walked away feeling like a complete idiot. I hoped neither of them noticed. My question could definitely wait till later.

APOV (a few hours later)

I lay on Odd's chest with my eyes half closed feeling so relaxed. I listened to his slowing heartbeat and his breathing. His fingertips were tracing patterns on my back while his other arm was lazily resting behind his head. My head was clearer now and I blushed with embarrassment at how I'd acted. What was wrong with me? I had practically forced him.

"I love you," I whispered and pressed my hand to his heart.

"I love you too," he held me a little tighter and pressed his lips to my forehead.

"I'm sorry." I glanced up at him.

"For what?"

"How I acted earlier."

He chuckled, "Its ok. I didn't mind," he grinned, "but…you don't regret it now do you?"

"No," I smiled and blushed, "I feel a lot better. I loved it."

He breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good. Me too. We should probably get dressed now before we get caught. Weren't you going to stay at Yumi's?"

I sat up, "Yes! Oh I completely forgot. She's probably already left," I said worried and began pulling my clothes back on.

"It's alright, I know where she lives, I'll walk you," he said getting up and grabbing some pants.

Once we were decent Odd unlocked the door, opened it, and peeked out. He motioned to follow him and I did, grabbing his hand. My legs felt like Jell-O, and I stumbled after him down the stairs. He steadied me, "Careful princess."

"Thanks," I smiled and wondered if he felt as wobbly as me.

We walked to Yumi's in the dark and I held his hand thinking over my behavior earlier. I must have had to have him because I was feeling so sad and when I'm with him in that way no bad thoughts can enter my mind. Our bond is so amazing. However I could also ask Akiko about it since she was a sex expert.

We arrived at Yumi's and I knocked on the door. A few moments later Hiroki opened it.

"Hi guys," he grinned up at us, "What are you doing here?"

"Yumi invited me to stay for a while," I gestured to my bag, "Things are…kind of difficult for me at home right now."

"Oh ok," he opened the door wider and waved us in. We went in and I didn't see Yumi anywhere or her parents.

"Where is everyone?" Odd asked.

"My parents are out. Yumi is with Ulrich in her room. Don't know what they're doing in there though. She always tells me to go away when I knock," he rolled his eyes. Odd and I glanced at each other.

"Anyway, check this out!" he held up a camera, "Milly officially made me her photographer for her gossip column! Cool huh?" he grinned.

"Yeah, just no taking pictures of any of us," Odd said walking to the stairs and Hiroki and I followed. We came to Yumi's door.

"Hey lovebirds!" Odd called through the door and knocked, grinning mischievously. Hiroki already had his camera on.

"Hiroki…" I gave him a look and tapped my foot, "Camera off please."

He groaned turned it off and walked away. Yumi opened the door her hair looking a little messed up.

"Hey guys," she smiled, "Ulrich, they're here," she called behind her and a few moments later Ulrich came out of the room, his hair looking a little out of place too. They both had silly grins on their faces.

"Come on Ulrich. We have to get back before G. I. Jim makes one of his room checks," Odd told him smirking before he hugged me, "Goodnight princess."

"Goodnight," I blushed and Ulrich and Yumi hugged goodbye too.

After the guys left Yumi and I went into her room and got into P.J's.

"I want all the details," Yumi grinned at me and I blushed.

"Details of what?" I tried to play dumb.

"You know what," she winked, "You and Odd's 'talk'" she put air quotes around 'talk'.

I groaned and put my hand on my forehead, "I told Odd that was a terrible excuse!"

She laughed and we got into bed. I didn't give her real details, I just told her it was amazing. She told me her and Ulrich haven't gone that far yet, but they probably will end up crossing that line soon. Then I fell into a deep sleep surprisingly with no nightmares.

Sorry this took a while to update. I still have to figure out a plot but the next chapter will be more important. This was just some fluff for all you romantics like me :P next chapter Alice will show up so you'll want to read it. If you review I'll update faster ;)
