Sleep was a luxury. One that Perry could really never afford.
He almost cursed loudly at the obnoxious beeps of his watch alarm. Slamming the button down to keep the alarm from bothering anyone else, he blearily opened bloodshot brown eyes. The soft breathing of Phineas and Ferb filled him with relief. The orange and green haired siblings slept soundly curled beneath their blankets probably dreaming of more schemes for the future.
Perry gently hoisted himself up on his arms. He had been hoping that sleeping with the boys tonight would keep evil at bay. Though the notion was silly, the older male had hoped that insane amount of luck that blessed the boys would rub off on him. No such luck though...
Despite years of sneaking, every successful attempt outside without catching attention always filled Perry with pride. He heaved a sigh of relief leaning against the cool paneling of his house. The cool grass tickled his bare feet. Sidling against the wall further, he searched for the one panel that felt slightly metallic compared to the rest of the siding and leaned back. Flipping through the siding, he tumbled down the clear tube down to his lair and slammed into his red chair. Not nearly as soft as it looked, Perry could still feel the bruise forming on his tailbone. That tube is too short... need to lengthen the distance...
Putting that mental note aside, he looked up at the screen as he was greeted by Monogram's face. "Ah Agent P," Perry immediately stiffened noticing the lack of enthusiasm in the major's voice. Usually, the solemn expression didn't indicate anything good. "Um, it's not the usual for once. Doofenshmirtz is still soundly sleeping. Sorry to wake you so late... or early... whichever it is?" Shaking his head, the major continued, "The floor will open up with another entrance. Go through there. Oh, and change into uniform."
Wiggling his bare toes and noting his pink fuzzy pajamas, Perry nodded wondering what could possibly have the major so tense. Was there a real danger? The agent wandered to the back of the room careful not to step in the opening that had appeared in the tiles of the floor. He paused to look in the mirror. Battle scars riddled his toned body. He grimaced at the flashbacks from the other dimension a ghostly pain flashing across his back. Shaking his head, he swiped his hair back tossing on his fedora on his head out of habit despite still not wearing a shirt. Once clad in cargo pants, army tank, and boots (and putting his hat back on after the shirt), the veteran agent took a leap down the hole wondering what he was getting himself into.
This tube was dark, whether it was because the tube was colored or clear but surrounded by earth, Perry wasn't sure. Not used much... He observed as scents of musk and dampness filled his nose at times. Noticing light from an oncoming entrance, he braced himself for impact. Fortunately, the lack of tube use slowed down his velocity just enough; the agent was able to tumbled forward and land albeit with one leg up as though proposing.
A slow clap caused him to looked up though bright lights overshadowed the figure's face. "Agent P, as graceful as we had heard."
Her most discerning feature was definitely the eye patch. Though this only added to her intimidating aura, the agent could see this was a woman of high standing just by her stature. He glanced around warily noting that this place, while it appeared similar to OWCA's base, was far more advanced and filled with researchers and other employees.
Monogram's voice eased Perry's tension if only slightly, "Agent P, I see you made it." An obvious if not awkward statement, which seeing how fidgety the major was, didn't surprised Perry in the least.
"And this is?" Standing and brushing himself off, the agent questioned aloud not to any particular person.
"Welcome to GJ, Global Jusice. I am Dr. Director." A short and sweet introduction, one that Perry could respect as he tipped his fedora down.
He answered quietly,, "I am to assume this is another organization?"
"Yes, Global Justice is another organization... a top, top, top secret organization." Monogram answered quickly almost biting his tongue in the process. Perry almost pitied the man. Despite being a man of high standing, next to this Dr. Director, Monogram might as well have been a cockroach scuttling in one of the tubes.
Dr. Director then continued not allowing time for any other questions, "We've heard a lot of things about you, Agent P, a lot of good things, and we would like to recruit you into our ranks."
Perry had to stop himself from objecting. It wasn't his nature to go against his higher ups, but to suddenly be put into another organization, what would that mean for his current life? His family?
The major once again interrupted, "Consider it the promotion we could never offer you because budgets, you know." He cleared his throat trying not to cringe at the rather critical glare the doctor was giving him.
"If you are concerned about your arrangements, you need not worry." This was the first time Director flashed him a smile. "While we will require your services, this will not completely divert your dealings with Dr. Doofenheinz." Nobody felt the need to correct her on the name. "You will be busier depending upon the timeframe, but of course, this will increase your pay."
Perry only nodded at this. Of course a raise would certainly help, but he was content with where he was. That being said, he also wasn't going to go against his superiors unless it affected his family. A little less of Doof wouldn't hurt anyway.
"So…?" The major again shifted in place.
Perry blinked, "What?"
"Well, are you going to take it?"
"I was unaware that was even an option." The agent shook his head, "You said you were going to recruit me. As my superior, I have no choice but to accept."
Dr. Director smiled pleased, "You've got a good head. I like you."
Monogram rubbed his neck nervously, "Gosh, then I guess I didn't need that motivational speech to uh, inspire you… well in any case," Clearing his throat, he spoke again, "You will be informed the same way you always have been through the OWCA."
Glancing at the time, the agent nodded. "May I go?"
"Not quite, Agent P." Director interjected now stepping forward a bit. "You will be assigned a partner, and I would like for you to meet her tonight. Hold your arms out. Keep them firm."
Blinking, he obeyed only to fully understand the doctor's sadistic nature as a young woman landed in his arms. Luckily, he held steady enough to support her despite the fall.
She groaned a little glaring immediately at Director. "Really?" Her complaint was completely warranted though. Even if she landed in his arms, she'd still feel it in the morning.
"Well speak of the devil," Dr. Director smiled cunningly feigning ignorance, "Agent P, meet Kim Possible, for the near year, you two will be partners on various missions."
Agent P gently helped the woman stand brushing his own teal strands out of his face. "Are you alright?"
The redhead grumbled a little but nodded, "I'm alright… now what's this about a partner?"
"As Mr. Stoppable will be away for some time, I thought it would be a good chance for you to partner with someone new. You may need it in the near future. Two heads are better than one after all." Before anyone could interject, the doctor began to walk away, "Now get along you two, there's a long road ahead of you."
"Wait, Dr. Director…" Kim started but paused as Perry held out a hand.
He spoke in an even tone, "I look forward to working with you, Ms. Possible."
She blinked hesitantly taking the hand. Wow, that's quite the grip. It was only then that Kim Possible took in her soon to be partner. Tanned and toned, he looked more like an experienced soldier especially with that jaded look in his eyes. None of that took away from his attractiveness, even if his hair was an odd shade of teal. "I uh, just Kim is fine."
Perry had, in passing, heard her name, Seeing her in person, he could already see why she was so famous. Her stature and tone told him that this was someone who was confident and had the skills to match that confidence.
He offered a small smile and tucked his hat down, "It is a pleasure, but seeing as it's about four in the morning, I need to return home. I apologize I cannot get to know you more now, but I hope to get to know you better down the road."
With that, Perry turned and headed towards the nearest exit or well ask Carl how to get back.
Phineas' and Ferb's eyes were opening when Perry came in and flopped onto mess of blankets and pillows between their beds. "Hey bro, where'd you go?"
"Work," He answered grumpily. Getting back had been a pain, and he knew he wasn't going to get a whole lot of shut eye thanks to Doofenshmirtz.
"Wow, all night? You sure are dedicated!" Perry could almost hear Ferb nodding in agreement.
With a weary grin, he reached out and ruffled their heads. "Got a promotions… go have fun. Night..." He muttered sleepily almost instantly falling into dreamland and drowning out whatever the boys had said in response.
Despite the dark bags under his eyes, Perry kicked over Doof's latest inator. He had actually been a bit late to the party though he had done his job rather swiftly. Honestly, the agent couldn't really recall what this inator did but Doof didn't really need another one of these sitting in his house. Stifling a yawn, he gave the self-destruct button a good smack and walked towards the doctor as it exploded.
"Curse you, Agent P!" The villain in the labcoat screeched though he paused, "Though, that was awfully quick, were you in a hurry or something, Agent P? You don't really look that good either." If his eyes were apparently bloodshot before, they certainly were now. Perry glared at the evil doctor. "Yeesh, I got it, I got it. Go home and rest, Perry the Agent. I'll see you tomorrow."
Ignoring the doctor, Perry jumped over the ledge opening up his glider and heading home.
When he wandered into his house, darkness greeted him. Vaguely, he wondered if everyone had gone to sleep but nearly jumped as the entire Flynn-Fletcher household jumped out from various locations. "Congratulations, Perry!"
Quizzically, he tilted his head as his mother, Linda, came towards him with arms outstretched. She hugged him tightly embracing him as a mother would. "Ooh, I'm so proud of my boy! Congratulations on your promotion."
He cast a wary glance towards Phineas and Ferb who only grinned slyly. "We planned a party for you today. Ferb and I made you presents too!"
A hug from his father, Candace, and the boys would have sufficed as congrats but as soon as he smelled the feast at the table, Perry decided sleep could wait a little longer. Famished and fatigued, he practically inhaled the food as his family chittered about him. He smiled a little. Moments like these were meant to be cherished.

Defeat was not in Kim Possible's dictionary.
At least, it shouldn't be. Her heavy sigh indicated otherwise though. Rummaging through her locker at school, she quickly replaced her textbooks when a voice piped up.
"Girl, I haven't heard a sigh that heavy since Bonnie won that cheerleading competition." Monique's sass made Kim smile.
"Okay, you know that was a one time thing. It's not my fault I was busy saving the world." She huffed but smiled all the same.
Monique leaned against the neighboring locker, "Is it is the whole Ron going away thing?"
"No, I mean yes, I mean not really." The cheerleader sighed again. "There's just a lot going on right now." Ron going away to the Yamanouchi School again, more evil villains sprouting up, and GJ giving her a spontaneous partner of all things. "It's also really different without Ron."
"Well, you know what you need? A shopping trip!" Monique squealed hugging her friend tightly. "We're going after school today. I need me a new outfit!"
"I thought you said, I needed it." Kim raised a brow at her friend smiling nonetheless.
Her friend laughed, "Yeah, you need a shopping trip, and I need an outfit. See? It works out!"
GIggling together, Kim couldn't help but be thankful for a friend who tried to get her mind off of these things.
With the end of the day and the ringing of the school bell, Kim barely had time to put things away as Monique started dragging her out through the doors of the high school. "We can hit up the mall, that snazzy clothing store that just opened up on the 3rd floor and…"
When she trailed off, Kim looked up at her. They had just reached the edge of the school lot, and other students were leaving as well though at this point, they were standing and gawking. A figure stood with arms crossed leaning slightly against a black motorcycle. With his muscle shirt revealing just how well built he was, it was no shock that a small crowd of girls were forming nearby. "Dannng, he look fineeee~" Monique breathed practically drooling over him.
Tilting his fedora up, he looked up towards the girls and stood straight. "Ms. Possible," His deep, cool voice entranced those around him though he seemed oblivious to this.
Monique immediately shoved her friend playfully. "You know this hottie? And you never introduced us?!"
"Sorry, Monique. Work, you know?" Kim apologized though she did feel a hint of pride that she was able to meet him first. There were some perks to saving the world after all.
Her friend whined, "You always get the cute ones. Fine, you owe me a shopping date and some pointers on how to score a guy like him." Shaking her head, Kim waved her friend off and looked at Perry who had fallen silent while the two had been talking.
"Please call me Kim. Ms. Possible makes me sound like my mom or something."
"Sorry, Kim, force of habit. I'm not used to working with another person." He shifted slightly tugging on his hat. "I apologize for intruding on you and your friend."
"No, no worries, but since you're here, I guess something's up. So what's the sitch?"
Perry didn't respond initially instead giving her a quizzical expression. "If you are asking about the current situation, then Global Justice is sending us to meet a contact just outside of town."
Oh boy, straight to the point huh? Kim smiled and nodded, "Alright, let's do this." She wasn't so sure she could just go along with this serious partner of hers. Almost reminded her of a different secret agent she worked with, but Agent P wasn't so stuck up. In fact, despite his reserved nature, he seemed pleasant.
Although, the ginger probably would be lying if she said she was comfortable with a new partner. Nobody could really replace Ron. It had always been Kim and Ron, and it always would be. Right?
Amidst her thoughts, she failed to notice Perry get back on his bike and wait for her. Noticing she seemed lost in thoughts, the male agent carefully pressed a bike helmet into her arms. This brought her back to reality. "I have the coordinates on my watch. Climb on."
"Oh." This was new. She wasn't usually the one in the back. Ron would usually be screaming or something as he hung on clumsily in a side cart. Hesitantly, she brought a leg over the back and settled behind him. Why did this feel so strange?
Suddenly, his hand was over hers and pulling it around his waist. "You need to hold tight or you'll fall. I'm going to take a shortcut." The cheerleader barely registered his words as he made sure both arms were secure around his waist. Never mind looking good, Perry definitely had the muscles to match. "Ready?"
Blinking and blushing, thankful that she was behind him, Kim responded with a rather quick and awkward, "Yes."
Revving up the engines, the two swerved out of the lot and hit the road.
