Hugs Will Always Heal

Rachel quickly grabbed her phone from her pocket as she leaned against a wall to catch her breath as she began to feel frustrated and very tired. No matter what, she was always bullied. She now dialed a number and left a text message for her friends.

It was only a few moments later that Big Chill came into view and scared away the bullies before finding Rachel looking like a truck ran her over with her downcast and tired expression.

"Come," he said. "Let's get home."

Rachel didn't protest as Big Chill carried her as he flew to Grant Mansion and set her down on the lawn outside the door. Thanking him, she went up to her room and lay on her bed, glad to finally be home after a horrible day.

A knock was heard at her door. "Rachel?" called her guardian. "Are you in there?"

Rachel didn't answer and Chromastone came in. One look at Rachel and he sat down beside her, holding his arms out to her. Although she was tired, she understood the gesture and hugged him.

"Chromo," she said. "I had a really bad day."

Her shoulders heaved as she started crying and Chromastone held her, rubbing her back and comforting her as she told him what had happened. After a while, she stopped and looked up at him.

"Thanks for listening," she said.

"Feeling better?" he asked.

She nodded and hugged him again and he returned her hug.

Rachel felt all of Chromastone's protective love and fondness as he hugged her and she felt her worries leave her as she enjoyed the healing power of the hug.
