Angel put on a glamour and went to talk to the student Bobby had investigated, reasoning that he would be more likely to chat up a pretty girl than he would Dean. She even accepted a beer, using magic to insure he wasn't slipping a roofie or something in it.

She didn't think twice about tossing it in a recycling bin outside the dorms.

Dean noticed something was off about Angel the second the lights started flickering. Her magic was trying to fight off something.

Sam went to shake her awake, realizing she had been hit with whatever Bobby was afflicted with, only to find himself sucked inside her mind instead.

Sam found himself inside a castle. He could feel the pressing weight of hundreds of people staring at him, whispering things behind his back and in hushed tones in his presence. The sensation alone made his skin crawl.

Then his ears caught something else. Something that had him running to the sound.

Angel was crying.

He found a small girl, frightened, alone, and surrounded by expectations she couldn't hope to fulfill. She was being crushed by the weight of the world and it was like she had no way out. The whispers grew stronger still, causing her to buckle.

Sam went to Angel, who looked so much younger than he was used to. He hugged her tightly, letting his core wrap around her like a blanket. Her shivering slowly stopped and she curled into it, crying.

"Not bad Moose. You keep her safe while I take out the asshole who did this to her," said a voice. It cut through the whispering.

"Loki?"

"My bond with Angel told me something was wrong. I don't know who was stupid enough to attack her in her sleep, but I'm glad her magic recognized yours enough to drag you in for help."

Sam hugged Angel tighter.

"Oh, and don't worry about Dean. I told him what's going on so he won't freak over the fact you just passed out."

The two stayed like that for about fifteen minutes, Sam's magic blocking the sound of the whispers until the stopped altogether.

"Sam? What..."

"Someone tried to break into your dreams. Your magic drew me in, and Loki had me guard you until he stopped whatever this was."

"Sam?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks. For blocking the whispers," said Angel.

It surprised her that someone was willing to risk their own mind to help protect hers.

In the hospital

Bobby woke up with a jolt. Loki had broken into his mind to find the idiot hurting Angel, and he had been shocked to see wings on the Trickster's back. Six of them, to be exact.

Loki realized Bobby had seen his wings, and winced.

This...was going to be unpleasant later.

Angel was in a foul mood. And the reason why was simple.

Bela, the annoying British thief who had tried to rob her, had called the FBI in to capture Sam and Dean. Fortunately she had been taking a nap in the back of the car under her cloak, so no one noticed her, but that still meant she had to deal with them being in a muggle prison. If she tried to magic them out, the American Ministry would come down on her ass. If she tried to fly them out, then the angels would find her. And calling Gabriel was a no-go either. He was currently hiding from his brothers who were starting to get suspicious about who was hiding her.

And now to top things off, she had just sensed a demon landing in the helicopter. Ever since she ran into the Acheri demon with Sam, Gabriel had been teaching her more about how to sense things like that.

Time to pull off a fast one. She slipped on her cloak and snuck into the police station.

It took her little time to find Sam and Dean, and thanks to her charms no one noticed her there. The brothers, however, did noticed when Sam's wand clattered to the ground next to his feet, or when a crucifix hit Dean on the head.

"Idjits," she hissed at them.

Dean and Sam looked relieved, clearly glad she had been able to get in without trouble.

"There's a demon in the station. I sensed him come in earlier. Be prepared to exorcise the bastard. Sam, the incantation to unlock is 'Alohamora', and I'll glamor you both so no one notices you don't have any shackles on. Just don't touch anything with iron, or it will cancel out the glamor."

Technically it should prevent the unlocking charm from working, but the fact was that alohamora was passive enough that it tended to work anyway...provided that the lock wasn't too complicated. Considering Dean could have picked these with a few pins on his own, the charm would work. Glamors, however, were another story.

Sam hissed the unlocking charm and they kept the metal from clattering on the floor. Hiding them under the bed was easy enough. Angel put the glamor around their wrists and ankle before she hid in the cell behind them, leaving it slightly ajar. She hid her presence with a quick rune sequence Gabriel taught her and waited.

The demon appeared, having missed the magic use since most of it was small stuff.

Sam and Dean, forewarned about someone being possessed, waited before they lunged at the man, Sam chanting the exorcism before the demon had a chance to talk. Angel's lighting-fast reflexes caused her to smite the thing the moment it exited the now-dead body.

And thanks to her cloak, Agent Henricksen still didn't know she was there!

Angel finally revealed herself once Henricksen was exorcised. He seemed shocked when she appeared, though that also could have been because of the Pichu on her shoulder. Sparky had hatched and was currently at level 15, though he would evolve soon by Angel's reckoning. Sam's Voltik, Jolt, was in the Pokéball around his neck, which the police had missed because of the notice-me-not charm.

Gabriel fully planned on dumping Sam and Angel off in the Pokémon world to get a second chance at childhood, since both of them were fans and could handle most of what came their way.

Besides, it would keep them far, far from Ruby once Dean was gone and give him time to make new wards to shield Angel from above and below.

"Who the hell are you?!" said Henricksen. Really, being possessed was bad enough, but now he had random people just appearing out of nowhere.

"Decided to join the party sis?" joked Dean. Angel leveled a look at him.

"Dean, shut the hell up. It's bad enough we're about to be laid into by a bunch of demons, I don't need your snarky wit to add to it," she growled.

"Sis? I didn't know you have a sister," said Henricksen.

Angel winced.

"I'm an only child, but in order to keep Dean the man-whore from bothering me we set the definition of our working relationship to that of siblings. It makes things easier all around, and keeps my jealous Trickster boyfriend from trying to fry Dean," said Angel.

Henricksen snorted. He had seen a small fraction of the amount of tail Dean got. Calling him a man-whore was an understatement.

"Any chance his boyfriend of yours will make an appearance?" he asked.

"Not likely, unless I call for him. He's currently teaching a pedophile why it wasn't such a smart idea to go after a choir boy," she said shrugging.

There was a very good reason why the Loki in Dogma had that scene where he screwed around with the clergy, and it was mostly because while Gabriel was a bit of a coward he hated the fact some people took advantage of being in his Father's service just to do certain deeds they knew God wouldn't approve of. Such as deflowering innocents or stealing from the church.

Angel looked up when she heard the glass break. And then someone curse as they were caught in a devil's trap Sam had painted in less than three minutes freehand.

"Ruby. I would have thought she would know better than to come anywhere near me after I beat her ass without magic," growled Angel.

Ruby and Angel had been instant enemies. It had nothing to do with the fact Angel was a fledgling and Ruby was a demon bitch (Dean and Angel's words) and everything to do with the fact Ruby was a demon-witch before she turned, while Angel was a natural one.

Ruby still held resentment because she had been a squib when she was human and Angel had all the gifts she had never gotten, despite being a pure blood. Angel hated her simply because she had noticed the demon kept trying to corrupt Sam.

Angel hissed at her, and Ruby did likewise the second she saw Angel there.

"Should we be worried?" asked Henricksen.

"That is a demon who seems insistent on training Sam on powers he doesn't need," said Angel growling. Sparky started letting off enough sparks to cause her hair to lift up from static cling. She was tempted to test out the theory Iron Tail would do as much damage as the metal itself would.

Ruby snarled at her.

"Can we just leave her ass here and deal with the demons outside? I'm sure whatever words of wisdom this twit has about the problem it'll be one no one likes," asked Angel.

"We could at least hear her out," said Sam. He didn't know why he trusted Ruby, but he did.

When they heard her plan to deal with the demon problem outside, Dean snorted.

"Angel's right, we didn't need to hear her idea," he said.

There was no way he was sacrificing one person just to kill a bunch of demons on Ruby's say so. Even if she was one of the demons that could be killed.

Volt appeared without warning and climbed onto Sam's shoulder. He was so used to it by now he didn't even react. The bug/electric type chittered on his shoulder.

Nancy stared at him.

"Is that a Joltik?"

Sam grinned.

"Okay, any chance I might have agreed with Ruby just went out the window."

"Nerds," said Dean.

"Okay, so we can't exactly kill Nancy. But what if we trapped them all at once and then did a mass exorcism?" suggested Angel.

Dean and Sam blinked.

"It could work. Better than killing them and dealing with something Ruby thought up."

"Of course from what I heard about Ruby, we should probably kill her anyway," added Angel.

Sam and Dean looked at her.

"I heard rumors she's one of Lilith's special demons. An infiltrator. Of course this came from another demon," said Angel.

"Who?"

"Considering that bitch is in the other room, I'm not about to say out loud," said Angel.

"Later?"

"I could summon him later and you could ask him yourself. But I'm liking Loki's plan the more I keep running into Ruby with you two," said Angel flatly.

"You really hate her don't you?" said Henricksen.

"Hell yes I hate her! She's a total hack who chose to sell her soul to demons just because she didn't have a certain gift! Just because of the bullshit a bunch of magical Nazis spewed out sixty years ago, she decides to join forces with the pit all because she didn't want to be thrown to the wayside!"

Henricksen stared at her, clearly wondering what she meant by 'magical Nazis'.

"Anyway, Angel's idea for a mass exorcism sounds a hell of a lot better than some demon spell. How are we going to lure them in though?" asked Dean.

"Hello, are you forgetting what I am? If I sent out a weak enough signal, they'll be drawn like flies to honey thinking to use me to get a boost in the pit. Just give me time to draw a circle to keep them out while you exorcise the bastards," said Angel, slapping Dean on the head.

Angel stood inside her magic circle, ignoring the dirty look Ruby sent her way since they forgot to free her first. She sent out a weak spike of grace outside, alerting the demons to what she was and making it look like she had been injured.

With the salt lines inside broken, the demons converged on her in a swarm. They couldn't get close thanks to the barrier she had around her.

"NOW!"

Salt fell against the door, closing the demons in. Angel started chanting the exorcism, enunciating the Latin syllables perfectly considering she had been doing it for years. She knew how saying the word correctly often increased the power of the spell.

There was a massive cloud of demon smoke as they tried to escape, but couldn't. Ruby would have looked pissed...if she wasn't being forced back with them. Served her right.
