Hey There

Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY.

With a gasp, Blake opened her eyes. The sky above her was grey, the ground beneath her was hard. She felt a stinging pain in her side. She slowly reached for the spot with her right hand, gasping in shock at the sensation of warm fluid. Blood. She was bleeding. Blake tried to recall what had happened. She and Ruby were taking a walk, then...a Death Stalker. A Death Stalker appeared and attacked. During the battle, it knocked Blake out. Ruby. What about Ruby?

The realization that her girlfriend may be in danger gave Blake the strength to shoot up into a sitting position and look around. It didn't take long for her to discover the corpse of the Death Stalker, which was lying right next to Ruby, who was lying still on the ground.

"Ruby!" Blake cried as she tried to get up, only to fall flat on her face. She then started crawling towards her beloved, tears started forming in her eyes. No, no. Please, god, no!

Finally, she reached the younger huntress, took her in her arms and gently shook her.

"Ruby? Ruby, wake up! Wake up!" She shouted, tears now streaming down her face.

She immediately went silent when she felt a stir. Ruby's head shifted, then her eyes opened. The sight of those silver orbs filled Blake's heart with joy. As they slowly turned to her, a smile appeared on Ruby's face. "Hey there, good-lookin'."

Blake could only return the smile. "Thank god. Thank god!" She said as she pulled Ruby into an embrace, receiving a pained grunt from the girl. Blake pushed her back and examined her, shocked to see a gaping wound in her chest. "Oh god, Ruby! We have to get you to a hospital!"

"Don't worry. I'll be fine."

"Bullshit!" Blake yelled as she gently placed Ruby on the ground and searched her pockets. "Where's the scroll?"

She then heard Ruby panting. "My cloak. Upper right pocket."

Blake searched and was happy to find something, only to discover that it was too small to be the scroll. She pulled it out and looked at it. It was a small square box. Blake's eyes widened as she realized what she was holding in her hand.

"Not the most romantic setting, I know. But I'm afraid the Death Stalker kinda crossed my original plan." Ruby smiled. "Blake Belladonna, will you marry me?"

Blake was stunned. She just sat there and stared at Ruby for a few moments before giving her answer. "Yes, of course I will."

"I'm glad," Ruby said weakly as she closed.

"Ruby?" Blake asked, dread starting to fill her again. "Ruby?" She started shaking her girlfriend, this time to no effect. "RUBY!"

Blake's eyes fluttered open in the gentle sunlight. The sky peering in through the window above her was blue and the bed under her was soft.

A soft snore grabbed Blake's attention and she turned to the source to find Ruby lying right next to her. Blake smiled warmly at the peaceful sight of her sleeping wife. She then rose her left hand right above Ruby right cheek. "Wake. Up," she said, each word accompanied by a soft slap to the cheek. The snoring immediately and Ruby slowly opened her eyes.

After a moment, they focused on Blake and Ruby smiled. "Hey there, good-lookin'."

Blake returned the smile. "Good morning, honey. So, you wanna go out today, or are we staying in again?"

Ruby continued to smile as she rose her left hand to stroke one Blake's kitty ears, eliciting a pleasured moan from the faunus. "We're still on our honeymoon. We'll have plenty of time to go out later. Let's enjoy ourselves."

Blake blushed slightly. "Yeah, you're right." She then leaned in and felt Ruby's hand move to the back of her head, pulling her in to a passionate kiss.
