Sanity and In Between

Epilogue

Something Borrowed, Something Blue

"Go, go, go!" Starrk said, shoving both Grimmjow and Ichigo out through the door. "You're the last pair down the aisle!" he hissed.

"Okay, Jesus fuck!" Grimmjow hissed at the sleepy looking bartender as he straightened his suit and glanced over at Ichigo in his bridesmaid's dress, or was it a bridesman's dress? Ichigo giggled, standing on his good leg and letting Grimmjow take his other arm and steady him as they made their way down the aisle, splitting and taking up positions on either side to wait for Findorr to come down to the wedding march.

The wedding was taking place in one of the larger hotels. The place was beautiful, decorated in flowers and lace with satin and tulle in dark pink and light blue. The bridesmaids' dresses were long sleeved with a scooped neckline. Ichigo's had been tailored into short sleeves however. Shinji was Apacci's Best Man, and Szayel, who had known Findorr longer than anyone else at the club was the Maid of Honor, Man of Honor. Grimmjow was one of the groomsmen, partnered with Ichigo, and Shiro was as well. Partnered with Shiro was Illfordt. Luppi was paired across from Mila Rose, and Tatsuki was paired with Yumichika. Once Grimmjow and Ichigo were in position, Apacci turned and watched as the wedding march began and Findorr came down the aisle.

There was nothing unusual about their wedding, save for the role reversals. The guests were allowed to dress as they wished, and there was an eclectic mixture of clothing to be had. Karin had been relieved that she wouldn't be the only girl in a suit instead of a dress. Both Lillinette and Yuza had dressed up for the occasion, and Wonderweiss had gone with a brightly colored kimono. It was red and had lovely peacocks on it. He hated stuffy suits, and honestly he didn't care if it was a girls' or boys' kimono. It happed to be a girls', but of course, no one at the wedding even noticed. Nel and Sajin had both chosen Japanese formal attire, and they were not the only ones. There were dresses, suits, shorts, and slacks around the room. A beautiful afternoon wedding. There was a huge turn out, and after the ceremony was done, they headed to the reception hall.

The happy couple had opted for a tower of cupcakes rather than a tradional cake and as they fed each other bites, they ignored the yells to smash it. They sipped their champagne through interlocked arms and giggled as the bubbles tickled their noses. A beautiful buffet of deserts was laid out and everyone made it through the line and sat down. Shinji stood and gave a lovely speech, followed by Szayel. The afternoon was winding into evening as the dancing began and Grimmjow convinced Ichigo to come out with him.

After everyone was settling down and the night wound on, Grimmjow pulled Ichigo into his arms and sighed. "Was beautiful, wasn't it?" he asked.

Ichigo nodded. Next week they were moving into Nel's house. Nel had already moved everything to Komamaru's farm, and had been tickled that Grimmjow was going to stay around. Ichigo snuggled into his chest and felt Grimmjow start to card his fingers through his hair.

"I'd like to do this," Grimmjow said thoughtfully.

"Oh yeah?" Ichigo answered, already a bit exhausted. He'd been out of the hospital for a bit now, but he was still recovering.

"Yup, see?" he said and held something up in front of Ichigo's nose.

Ichigo blinked. It was a ring. It was a ring in a box.

"Grimmjow, is that…are you…?" he sputtered, sitting back.

Grimmjow smiled. "I know you can't wear it yet, not until your hands are all healed up. But I thought you could wear it on this," he said, holding up a long silver chain.

Ichigo opened his mouth and closed it again unsure what was going on. "Sure, that's fine," he said slowly.

"So is that a yes?" Grimmjow said, arching a blue brow and smirking.

Ichigo stared at him for a minute. "Of course you fucking idiot!" he said and then threw his arms around him. There was a round of applause nearby. Ichigo looked to see they were being watched and blushed bright red.

-oooooo-OOOOOO-oooooo-

Nearly a year later, a healed Ichigo stood in front of a similar crowd. His friends and family surrounded him as he made a promise he would never break. Despite the hard times ahead, he was very happy as his lips met with his husband's for the first time.

He had something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

He had his family, he had his Las Noches family, he had a beautiful house, and he had the love of his life.
