Chapter 24: Druged

Daryl watches as his wife stumbles to him.

He knew she didn't drink, there was hardly alcohol as is, something told him that there was another cause.

Grabbing her hand Daryl leads her back to their cell, he then rushes back out to get Hershel and Merle.

"Sumthin is wrong with her." He tells them anxiously.

Kathryn laid on the bed looking out of it.

Hershel sits beside his daughter, taking a small flash light, he flashes it in front of her eyes.

He tries getting her attention, but she doesn't seem to notice any of them in the room.

"She been drugged, could be a date rape drug." Merle confirms for them.

Daryl paces, "Who would do that?" He mumbles, Michonne stops outside the cell. "I can give you a hint."

Daryl looks at the woman then his wife, of course; it hit him like a ton of bricks.

How could he been so stupid. "Anna, her mother, or both sumbitch" ,he growls starting to storm out of the cell.

Then Michonne stopped him. "Stay, your wife is going to need you."

Daryl blinks and looks back at Kathryn. "But..."

The woman shakes her head. "Just stay with her, trust me."

Daryl sighs and reluctantly gives in, he returns to Kathryn's side.

He knew Michonne was right, he watched his wife go from unconscious to conscious to unconscious again.

"What are we to do?" He murmurs, looking up at Merle, his older brother lays a hand on his shoulder.

"Wait till it passes, nothing you can do, I'm sorry baby brother." Daryl nods as he crawls into bed with her.

He wraps his arms around her waist and snuggles into her.

Daryl has never felt has helpless has he did then.

Sighing, he drifts off to sleep snuggled into her.

The next morning Kathryn opens her eyes and blinks back the blurriness.

What had happened? She remembered the party Daryl set up, dancing with him, then nothing.

Kathryn slowly looked around, she was back in their cell which was a good thing, but it was empty.

Slowly sitting up, her mother comes in. "No, don't move around the drugs are still wearing off." Carol gave a concerned look at her daughter as she pushed her gently back on the mattress.

"Where's Daryl?" She asked, her eyes slipping closed.

"He's with Merle and Rick, they're going to talk to some people about what happened. Beth and I are taking care of the babies so don't worry; we just want you to rest. Hershel should be here soon." Kathryn nodded her eyes slipping closed dozing off.

By this time Hershel hopped himself inside the cell, there was rumors that they had found a metal leg for him but the scavengers had yet to retrieve it.

He sighs, looking form Carol and Kathryn. "No changes?" Carol nods, "She did wake up a little and asked for Daryl but passed out again once I told her."

Hershel nods, sitting down beside her sleeping form, Carol had left.

He opened the bible and began to read aloud a passage from Song of Solomon; he would look to her then the book.

It was then the soft knock on the cell door, Hershel looks up to see Daryl looking at Kathryn.

"How is she? Any change?" Hershel nods closing the book. "Yes, Carol said she had woken up asked where you were."

Daryl nods sighing, "Found out her so called family had plotted it, but the drug was meant fur me but fell in the wrong hands. Once Kat's awake she can decide what to do from there."

Hershel nods, feeling sad for his girl not understanding why they treat her the way they do.

Around that afternoon Kathryn started feeling better, the drugs finally worn off.

She was eating little bits of food, but at least she was eating.

To Daryl that was a good thing, Merle and Carol where giving them time to rest so they took the job of watching the kids.
