Hello everyone! I'm sorry for the long wait, I've had a lot of things going on and I couldn't figure out how I wanted to end it but thanks to those who reviewed, here is the final chapter of the story. Enjoy!

Chapter 13

"Hailey Nicole Puckerman there is no way you are wearing that to a party!" Puck yelled after his daughter, who just walked out of the bathroom.

"Dad you're making a big deal out of nothing. Some girls dress worse than this." She motioned to her crop top and skirt. "Besides, Mom helped me pick it out."

As she walked back to her room, Puck went and found Rachel, who was cooking dinner. She turned to him. "Uh oh I know that look. What's wrong now?"

"You helped Hailey pick out that outfit she has on?"

Rachel shrugged. "Yes, why?"

"You don't think that outfit is a little too revealing? I mean her stomach is out for God's sake."

She giggled. "Noah as I recall, you used to love girls who dressed worse than that. You thought they were hot and immediately went after them."

"Exactly. I know how boys think and I don't want either of our girls to end up with one of them."

Before Rachel could respond, their younger daughter, Maddie, walked in. "Mommy when can I wear makeup like Hailey?"

Puck looked at Rachel. "She's wearing makeup?"

Ignoring his question, Rachel turned to Maddie. "When you're Hailey's age but only if you have good grades like she does. Is that fair?"

Maddie nodded. "Yeah, I guess."

Puck groaned and looked at his daughter. "Mads, don't listen to her. You definitely don't need any makeup. Just remember you're daddy's princess and you should stay that way until you're thirty."

Maddie looked at her mom, to see her urging her to just go along with the idea so she nodded. "Okay Daddy."

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Sweetie do you want to help me make dinner?"

Suddenly, she grew excited and nodded. "Yes."

"Okay, go wash your hands and tell your sister to hurry because Auntie Quinn is going to be here any minute to take her to the party."

Maddie nodded and walked away as Puck looked at Rachel. "Okay can you explain to me why you're encouraging our eight-year-old daughter to wear makeup when she gets older?"

"Noah she's going to want to do it anyway. You remember how Hailey used to play in my makeup all the time when she was that age."

"Hailey is too young to be wearing makeup."

Rachel rolled her eyes at Puck's overprotective behavior. "She's fifteen, it was bound to happen sometime. She can't stay that five-year-old girl that you fell in love with as soon as you met her."

Puck looked over at a photo of him and Hailey from his and Rachel's wedding and frowned. "Yeah I guess she's not. Good thing I still have Maddie."

She laughed. "Remember Hailey's reaction when we told her I was pregnant?"

Puck laughed at the memory. "Yeah that was a pretty interesting day."

Flashback

Rachel was waiting for Puck to come back from picking Hailey up from school and she couldn't believe how nervous she was. Telling Puck she was pregnant was the easiest thing, since she knew he had wanted another kid, preferably one he could actually raise from the beginning. But she wasn't sure how Hailey was going to react to the news. It had been just her and Rachel since she was born, then Puck came and now there was going to be a baby in the family.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Puck and Hailey walked through the door. Rachel smiled at her daughter. "Hi angel. Did you have a good day today?"

Hailey nodded. "Yes. Elizabeth invited me to play but Daddy said I had to come home."

"Yes because we have something to tell you." She looked at Puck who nodded in encouragement before looking back at Hailey. "You know how I've been sick in the mornings before you go to school?"

"Yes."

"Well it turns out that…I'm going to have a baby."

Hailey stared at her. "What?"

Puck chimed in. "You're going to have a baby brother or sister. Isn't that great, munchkin?"

She looked at her parents. "What if I don't want a baby brother or sister?"

Rachel looked at her. "Hailey?"

"I don't want you to have a baby. Kelly's mom had a baby and she said the baby got all the attention and her parents didn't pay any attention to her."

Puck frowned. "Hail, that's not going to happen."

Rachel nodded. "We would never do that."

Hailey shook her head. "I don't want a brother or a sister. I want to stay the only one."

She grabbed her backpack and ran to her room, slamming the door behind her. Puck sighed. "If this is what her fits are like at this age, I'm going to hate when she becomes a teenager."

Rachel looked at him. "Noah this is serious. She's clearly unhappy about this."

"Babe this isn't uncommon. She's been an only child for so long, she's used to being the center of everything. If anything, this seems like a reaction you would've had if your dads adopted another kid."

She sighed. "I guess. But I don't want her to feel this way."

"Then we just need to talk to her." Rachel nodded and they went to Hailey's room. When they opened the door, they found lying on her bed with her back turned to the door.

Rachel sat next to her. "Angel, we're not going to forget about you when this baby comes."

Puck sat down as well. "How can we? You keep us busy most of the time."

Hailey turned over and looked at Rachel with tears in her eyes. "I don't want to share you. You're my mommy."

"Sweetie, Me having a baby won't change that. You will always be my angel and I will always be your mommy. Just because I'm going to have a baby doesn't mean I'm going to love you any less than I do now."

"It doesn't?"

Rachel shook her head. "Absolutely not. You're my first baby. You made me a mommy in the first place, I could never forget that. This new baby isn't going to change a thing. We are always going to be pals even when you're all grown up."

"You promise?"

"I promise." Hailey wiped her eyes and hugged Rachel. "I love you, angel."

"I love you too."

Puck smiled at the scene in front of him before chiming in. "Hey what about Daddy?"

Hailey laughed and hugged him. "I love you too Daddy."

End of Flashback

Puck laughed. "Who would've thought she'd bounce off the walls in excitement when she found out she was getting a sister?"

Rachel laughed as well. "I think she would've preferred having a little sister to having a little brother, considering how other girls at her school described their little brothers."

Hailey and Maddie walked out with Maddie ready to help Rachel cook and Hailey ready to go to her party. Rachel smiled at her. "You look great, Hail."

"Thanks, Mom. I don't think Dad agrees with you though."

Rachel looked at Puck, who looked like he was about to have a heart attack when he saw the makeup on Hailey's face. "Noah? Doesn't your daughter look nice?"

Puck looked at the women in his life who were waiting for an answer. When he looked at Hailey, he couldn't deny that he had a beautiful daughter. "Yes, you look beautiful munchkin."

Hailey rolled her eyes at her father's old nickname for her before smiling. "Thank you." A horn honked from outside, signaling that Quinn had arrived to take Hailey to her party. "There's Auntie Quinn. I'm going to get my purse."

As she walked away, Rachel and Maddie began cooking dinner together as Puck decided to follow Hailey. He stood in the doorway to her room as she put her things in her purse. "You remember not to put your cup down and walk away from it, right?"

Hailey rolled her eyes. "Yes Dad. I know all about the tricks guys can play on girls at parties thanks to you."

Puck held his hands up. "Hey, you'll appreciate my being overprotective one day."

She went quiet before nodding. "I already do." Seeing Puck's shocked face, she shrugged. "You know, there are days when I wonder how I lived without a dad for the first five years of my life. I mean, Mom's great and everything but there are some things only a dad can do. I never admitted this but when Maddie was first born, I always got a little jealous when I would see you rock her to sleep or play with her. It always reminded me that I never got that with you."

Puck nodded, sadly. "I know. And trust me, not being able to do that with you will always be my greatest regret. Believe it or not, there are some days where I just look at you and wonder how I lived without knowing I had such an amazing kid out there. And even though I regret not being able to experience those milestones when you were born, I'm grateful that I don't have to miss anymore. Whether you like it or not, you're stuck with me forever munchkin."

Hailey smiled before hugging him. "That's something I can live with. I love you Daddy."

He smiled. "I love you too, Hail."

They pulled away and she grabbed her purse before walking out of the room. She hugged Rachel. "I'll see you guys later."

Rachel nodded. "Okay have fun." Hailey nodded back as she walked out. Rachel looked at Puck, who was still affected by his conversation with Hailey. She turned to Maddie. "Sweetie keep stirring this okay?"

Maddie nodded as Rachel walked over to sit next to Puck on the couch. "Are you okay? You and Hailey didn't have a fight did you?"

He shook his head. "Actually the opposite. She told me that she appreciates me being overprotective and doesn't know how she went without having a dad for the years of her life."

She shrugged. "She's a daddy's girl, I'm not surprised. And you're an amazing father."

"You think so?"

"I know so. I'm glad it wasn't too late for us."

Puck smiled and nodded. "Yeah me too."

He kissed Rachel before she went back to helping Maddie. Even though things didn't start off the way they should've, Puck was actually grateful for everything they went through. It made him appreciate what having a family is like and he wouldn't give it up for anything. He might've missed out on the first five years of Hailey's life but he was determined to be there for everything else and that goes for Maddie too. He was going to be the best father he could be. That was a promise.

And that's it. Thank you to everyone who read the story! Be on the lookout for my new story, Stay With Me. Bye for now! :)
