Author's Notes: An angsty poem inspired by TK during a conversation about Mary Sues. She suggested a girl who pines for her hero, but NEVER gets her man. Tragic, isn't it? So this one's for TK.

See if you can figure out who the hero is.

I Weep For Thee

My dearest love, it cannot be

That now I sit and weep for thee

I watched you always, night and day

And still, my dear, you went away

You did not know, you did not see

The homely girl that pined for thee

Your journey met a tragic end

I'm told you died to save a friend

My heart is breaking, my head is hung

Your grave is dug; you're far too young

To meet a doom so painfully

My warrior, I weep for thee

A memory brings joy in woe

When I first saw you, long ago

Your handsome face, it wooed me so

You won my heart; you did not know

Oblivious, my lord, you were

This girl; you did not notice her

This girl was I, my heart was aching

Everyday my dream was breaking

As I was slowly forced to see

Together we could never be

And still I hoped, and still I dared

That somehow we could make a pair

When you came out into the street

I ran outside in hopes to meet

My armored dream, my handsome lord

Though not for me, your smile still a reward

When you rode off, I said a prayer

That any power would guide you there

I waited oh so anxiously

Each day I strained my eyes to see

A sign of you; you never returned

My heart felt like it had been burned

My precious love, your soul's now free

Ne'er to meet again, I weep for thee

Where shall I go? What shall I do?

My dream has died; my heart has, too

I shall not live in this mortal hell

If you have died, I will as well

And when this world I do depart

They'll find this note clutched to my heart

Because you never looked at me

My Boromir, I weep for thee
