AN: Here you go, my pretties. The final chapter of this story - a long one, because I'm just nice like that :P. ("You really don't have to do that!" "Oh, I know! That's what makes me so nice!")

I hope you like this one. Thank you all so much for reading and everything, I appreciate it a LOT. You know that, right?

Also, check out my latest blog post - it's a bit about me trying to change my ways, and stuff... in practically every sense of the word.

Thedoctor24601: Wow, that's a huge compliment! Thank you so much ^^. Tips on writing fanfic... what helped me a lot was 1) reading a lot of fanfics, 2) decide how you want to portray the characters, and 3) work out a plot before you start. Especially the latter is something writing fanfiction really taught me how to do, and I see now that my original stories are better because of it, too. (On a different note, I just wanted to thank you for the reviews you left on my other stories and to let you know that I get and read them all!)

PocketSevens: Why, thank you *curtsies* it's good to be back! I missed you guys, too. And why you have that feeling... because you're a mindreader? ;)

Last but not least, check out the new cover for Made to be broken - courtesy of Humole. Isn't it awesome? :)

Chapter 15.

"Oh my Oz, it worked!" Glinda squealed, jumping up and down. "Elphie, Elsa, it worked! Boq! You're back to normal!"

He was gawking at his human arms and legs, but then he looked up at Glinda with a look of wonder on his face. "You… you said my name right," he stammered. "You didn't call me Biq!"

"No, of course not," Glinda giggled. "Your name is Boq! Why in Oz would I ever call you Biq?"

"She called him Biq all the time when we were still at university," Elphaba whispered as an explanation to Elsa, who chuckled.

"That doesn't really surprise me."

Glinda now threw her arms around the Munchkin and kissed both of his cheeks with a smack. "Welcome back!"

He looked about ready to faint. "You… you kissed me!"

She blushed and giggled. "Yeah, I did."

Olaf, of course, immediately held his breath and jumped up and down. "They're so adorable!" he whispered to Elphaba and Elsa, who rolled their eyes in unison.

Elphaba was genuinely happy for the Munchkin, though. She was relieved that they had managed to change him back; and, admittedly, she also rather liked the fact that he did not seem to want to murder her anymore.

"Thank you," he said now, looking at the two sorceresses over Glinda's shoulder and then at Glinda herself. "All of you."

"You're welcome," they chorused.

"I still can't believe it's over now," Elsa sighed to Elphaba as they left the room together, leaving Boq and Glinda to catch up. "I mean… it just feels so surreal."

"It does," Elphaba agreed. "I still feel like I am in battle mode – part of me is prepared for an attack at all times." She shook her head. "It's going to take a while to adjust, I think."

"And Glinda cleared your name!" said Elsa in awe. "I still can't believe the influence that girl has over everyone! I wish I had that," she added wistfully. "It would really come in handy for ruling Arendelle… but then again, I suppose I shouldn't complain," she added, grimacing slightly. "I mean… I should be happy I get to be the queen at all. If the royal line had gone through my father, the people could have denied me the crown – since the king was not my real father, and stuff… Anna would have been the rightful queen."

"But she's not," said Elphaba. "The royalty passed down from your mother's side, so you are queen."

Elsa nodded, then grinned at her older half-sister. "And you are the rightful ruler of Oz," she pointed out.

"Please don't bring that up," Elphaba muttered. "No way. Not ever. One, the people would never accept me – whether Glinda tried to clear my name or not, they are still suspicious and wary enough of me as it is. And two," she shuddered, "I would be a horrible, horrible ruler."

"No, you wouldn't be," said Elsa softly. "You'd be a great ruler."

Elphaba flashed her a smile that told the snow queen she was grateful for the sentiment, but she didn't believe a word Elsa was saying. "Well," the dark-haired witch said, shrugging, "I'm not going to do it. Glinda will be a far better ruler than I could ever be."

"What are you going to do, then?" Elsa asked. "Go back to the Vinkus with Fiyero?"

Elphaba paused. "Maybe. I'm not sure yet," she confessed. "We didn't really discuss it… though I do know his father is travelling here, to Arendelle, with the Vinkun army as we speak, to meet up with Fiyero and to meet me."

Elsa nodded. "They will be welcomed with open arms for their help," she said.

Elphaba smiled wryly. "I just hope I will be, too."

"Of course you will." Elsa squeezed the green girl's arm. "Wicked Witch reputation or not, Fiyero's parents will love you, I'm sure of it."

"I'm glad one of us is," Elphaba muttered, but she was smiling. She looked out of the window, only to frown in disapproval. "You're not really going to keep that here, are you?" she asked, nose wrinkled with disgust.

Elsa came to stand next to her sister and chuckled when she saw what Elphaba was looking at. "The Wizard, you mean? No, I'm not leaving him in the front garden of the palace," she said, amused. "I was thinking of giving him to you and Fiyero as some sort of belated wedding present. Don't you think it would look nice? A frozen Wizard statue in your house?"

"I have a better idea," said Elphaba, and before Elsa even realised what the green girl was up to, an emerald-coloured beam already shot from Elphaba's fingers. It hit the Wizard ice sculpture and shattered it into a thousand tiny pieces.

"There," Elphaba said smugly. "Now he looks better than ever."

Elsa grinned. "I can only agree."

"Elsa? Elphaba?"

The girls turned around, only to find Jermain standing behind them.

"Elphaba," he said, "Fiyero is waiting for you downstairs. Our father has arrived."

Elphaba paled visibly. "Oh. Already?"

Elsa smiled and hugged the raven-haired witch briefly. "You'll be fine," she assured Elphaba. "Good luck."

"Thanks," the green girl muttered as she hurried off, smoothing out her skirt and combing her hair with her fingers as she went.

Elsa looked at Jermain, who smiled a little sadly at her. "Can we talk?"

She nodded. "Of course." She invited him to the parlour nearby, perching down in a chair and looking up at him expectantly.

He cleared his throat. "Elsa…" He paused for a moment, uncertain of how to continue. "I… I want you to know what a great influence you've been," he said. "On me… on my life. I lost the one I loved more than anything in this world; and after that, I didn't think I'd ever be able of falling in love with someone else ever again. I thought she was the one for me and with her death, it was over. I was a wreck, Elsa – you saw that for yourself, even though I tried to hide it. I blamed myself and I spent years of my life wandering around all of Oz, looking for something I could never find by travelling… looking for myself. And then you found me, and everything changed."

He crouched down in front of her, taking her hands in his.

"I love you," he said. "I do."

"I love you, too," she replied honestly. "You… you helped me a lot, too, Jermain. I hope you know that."

He smiled and squeezed her hands. "I do."

She looked at their joined hands. "Don't feel guilty for leaving," she said softly.

His eyes widened to the size of saucers. "What?!" he said, baffled. "How…"

She raised her gaze to meet his. "I know that's why you're here," she said with a small, sad smile. "Don't worry – I understand. I really do. I feel the same way. We… we've helped each other. We taught each other how to love again… but now it's over." She shook her head. "We both need to move on," she said. "You found yourself and now you have to go back to where you belong. Go back home to the Vinkus, Jermain. Accept the crown."

He sighed and his shoulders slumped. "I really am sorry, Elsa."

"Don't be."

"I can't just go back, though," he said. "Fiyero –"

"Fiyero is not going to want to be the king," she cut him off. "You know that as well as I do. Elphaba even told me – he never wanted to be king in the first place, but since you were unable to fulfil that role, he had no choice." She smiled at him. "You can do this, Jermain. I have faith in you."

He nodded slowly. Then he cupped her face with his hands and kissed her forehead.

"Thank you," he said. "For everything."

"We'll write," she said, and he smiled and nodded.

"We will."

"And I hope you'll find yourself a great queen one day," she added softly.

"I hope you do, too." He winked at her. "A king, not a queen. Though you don't need one." He squeezed her shoulder. "You're the best ruler I know, Elsa, and I'm not just saying that because I care about you. The things you do for your people… it's admirable. They're lucky to have you as their queen."

She nodded, her throat too clogged with unshed tears to speak.

Jermain kissed her cheek and she closed her eyes. She could hear the sound of his footsteps fading away as he left.

"Olaf?" Anna asked when the snowman plopped down next to her and Kristoff with a loud sigh. "Is something wrong?"

"Not really," he said, sighing again. "But… you have Kristoff, and Elphaba has Fiyero, and now Glinda seems really into this Boq fellow… I just feel a little lonely, you know? I mean, I'm the only one without a life partner." He pouted.

"Not anymore," a new voice said. They all turned around, only to find Elsa descending the stairs and approaching them.

Anna furrowed her brow. "What do you mean, Elsa?'

"Jermain and I broke up," she said.

Anna and Olaf gasped in unison.

"What?" Anna cried, while Olaf asked in shock, "Why?"

Kristoff just placed his hand on the snow queen's shoulder. "I'm sorry," he said solemnly.

She smiled at him. "Thank you." She shook her head. "It was a mutual decision," she said. "We… we helped each other through a lot, but lately we've been realising that we're sort of… holding each other back, I guess. Then there's the thing about him being the Crown Prince of the Vinkus and me being the Queen of Arendelle… he has to return to his homeland and I have to stay here. It's just… it's over." She shrugged helplessly. "And the fact that even though I will miss him, I am okay with the knowledge that we're not together anymore… I think that proves more than anything that we're not really meant to be. There's love, just… not enough of it. Or not the right kind, maybe. I'm not sure."

Olaf surprised her by suddenly hopping into her lap and hugging her. She froze at first, but then she relaxed and hugged him back.

Anna hugged her sister, too. "I really am sorry, too, Elsa," she told her sister. "But you'll find someone. Someone to stay."

Elsa smiled and nodded. "I think I will."

Fiyero and Elphaba suddenly entered the room, causing everyone to look up.

"Hey!" Anna said, smiling brightly. "How did it go?"

"Um…" Fiyero rubbed the back of his neck.

"The good news is that his father was actually pretty accepting of me, my skin and my reputation, as well as the fact that Fiyero and I are married," Elphaba offered. "Even though of course he wishes he could have attended the wedding."

"Then why don't you look happy?" asked Anna.

Elphaba sighed. "Like I said, that was the good news."

Kristoff grimaced sympathetically in anticipation. "And the bad news?"

"The bad news," Fiyero said with a sigh, "is that he wasn't quite as happy to hear that I'm not coming back to the Vinkus with him."

"He kind of exploded," Elphaba informed them all. "And then, of course, he blamed me. Which he is right about."

Fiyero glared at her, but she shook her head. "It's true," she insisted. "Face it, Yero – if it weren't for me, you'd go back to the Vinkus with your father and that would be it."

"Probably," he conceded with a sigh. "But it's not your fault, Fae. It's my decision, okay?"

"Where are you going to go, then?" asked Anna curiously, and Elphaba and Fiyero exchanged a look.

"Well," began Elphaba, "we just discussed that, actually."

The others waited, not saying anything.

The green girl looked at Elsa. "We were kind of hoping you'd take us in as new citizens of Arendelle," she finished.

Elsa's eyes were wide. "Really?"

Fiyero nodded. "We're not going back to Oz," he said. "Even though Glinda cleared Fae's name, most people are still afraid of her. That's no life to live for her. And honestly, I don't really feel like going back, either. Too many bad memories."

"At least here the people are much more accepting of my skin," said Elphaba softly, "and they don't even know about the whole Wicked Witch thing. I think we'd be much happier here." She smiled at her sister. "Plus I'd be living closer to you all."

"But…" Elsa tried to wrap her mind around that. "But what about Glinda?"

Elphaba and Fiyero made a face at the same time.

"We still have to tell her," Fiyero muttered. "She won't be happy."

"I'll tell her tonight," decided Elphaba. "She'll understand, I'm sure of it." She looked at Elsa. "So… will you have us?"

Elsa let out an incredulous laugh and hugged the green girl tightly. "Of course, Elphaba! I'd love to have you!" She hugged her brother-in-law as well. "You, too, Fiyero. You are both so very welcome here. You could live here in the palace, if you want to," she offered. "Or else I'd arrange a nice home for you in the village – whatever you want. With the queen as your sister, everything is possible," she said with a grin in Elphaba's direction, which the green girl returned.

"Speaking of siblings," said Fiyero, his blue eyes solemn. "Elsa… are you okay?"

She looked at him. "Jermain told you?"

Fiyero nodded. "We ran into him in the hallway," he said.

Elsa told them the same thing she'd told Kristoff, Anna and Olaf before.

"It's okay," she finished. "Really."

Elphaba hugged her, which prompted Olaf and Anna to do the same thing again, making the snow queen laugh.

"Oh, come on!" she protested when Fiyero and Kristoff exchanged a grin and proceeded to hug the white-haired girl as well.

"I love warm hugs!" Olaf exclaimed happily and they all laughed.

There were tears in Glinda's eyes. "You're leaving?"

"Actually," Elphaba pointed out carefully, "we're staying."

Glinda sniffled and pointed an accusing finger at her green friend. "This is so not the time to focus on stupid details, Thropp. You're leaving me!"

Elphaba sighed and took Glinda's hands in her own.

"Glin, I love you," she told her. "You're my best friend. And I'd love to go back with you, but I can't. I don't want to live the rest of my life being treated like a criminal, Glinda. The people of Oz will always be suspicious around me, even beyond the regular wariness of my skin. Here we can make a new start."

"I… I understand," Glinda said, sniffling again. "I do. I'll miss you, though… so much."

Elphaba hugged the blonde. "I'll miss you, too. But you'll be fine, Glin. You'll be okay. Boq will be by your side." The former tin man and Glinda had quickly bonded after he had been turned back into a human, and Glinda had hesitantly confessed to Elphaba that she might even like him that way. Boq would be accompanying her back to Oz and help her in whichever way she needed him to. She had already arranged for him to stay in the palace. Elphaba suspected that soon, she'd receive a letter from her blonde friend full of squeals and exclamation marks about her and the Munchkin's first kiss.

"And of course we'll visit back and forth," Elphaba continued. "It's not that long a trip." She smiled. "And maybe next time Oz is negotiating something with Arendelle, you could come here and stay in the palace for a little bit," she suggested.

Glinda smiled through her tears. "Of course." She buried her face in Elphaba's shoulder. "I wish you and Fiyero all the best, Elphie," she said, her voice muffled.

"You're the only friend I ever had," said Elphaba softly, and Glinda let out a wail.

"And I've had so many friends!"

Elphaba laughed and the blonde girl giggled, too. She pulled away and looked at her friend.

"But only one that mattered," she said.

Elphaba squeezed her hand in reply.

"We've been doing some research," said Elsa mysteriously.

Olaf looked from one smiling sorceress to the other. "Research?" He looked at Anna, who was standing next to Sven with Fiyero and Kristoff. They were all wearing the same knowing grins and Olaf cautiously looked back at Elsa and Elphaba. "What kind of research?"

"Research about our powers," Elsa answered. She looked at Elphaba, who nodded encouragingly at the snow queen.

Elsa looked back at Olaf. "Do you still want a girlfriend?"

He held his breath and jumped up and down in enthusiasm. "Really?" he squeaked.

Elphaba smiled at him. "We thought you might like the company of another snowman," she said. "Or… snowwoman. Whatever. Especially now that Glinda has gone back to Oz – I know how close you two were."

"I'd love that!" Olaf ran towards them and hugged first Elphaba's legs, then Elsa's. "Thank you so, so much!"

Elsa grinned at him. "Watch." She made some complicated gestures with her hands and tiny blue and white snowflakes danced around her fingertips, quickly creating a snowman slightly smaller and looking a little more feminine than Olaf. She took a deep breath and Elphaba slipped her fingers into her younger sister's, looking at the white-haired girl.

"Together," she said, and Elsa nodded with a grateful smile.

Both girls concentrated and closed their eyes. A small flash of ice blue and emerald green magic could be seen around the snowman.

Then it started moving, blinking at the humans surrounding it.

Olaf squealed and cheered, then ran towards his new girlfriend.

"Hi!" he said happily. "I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs!"

The female snowman seemed a bit hesitant at first. "I'm Helga," she said shyly. "I like warm hugs, too."

Olaf hugged her. Kristoff pulled Anna closer and Elsa and Elphaba smiled at one another as Fiyero stepped up next to the green girl, wrapping his arm around her waist. She dropped her head against his shoulder.

For the first time in a long time, they all felt at peace.

And thus, the Queen leaves you.

Okay, I'm not leaving leaving; but I'm going to go on a short and temporary hiatus (now don't freak, when I say 'short' I mean, like, one week. Two at most). I am currently working on the next two fanfics I will be posting and yes, this time I am going to (mostly) finish them before I start posting them. One of them is Frozen and will be called Frozen love; the other is a Wicked one called Dances with princes.

Until then, I will probably be feeding you some one-shots to keep you happy ^^. Look out for a Maleficent two-shot as well - has any of you seen that movie yet? I absolutely loved it!

Next time we meet, I might just have finished my bachelor's degree! :D Until then, my pretties!
