Rest and recovery, two words Skye could barely stand, however they had been repeated to her nearly every hour since her return to the BUS. As much as her need to be up, moving and working on an op caused a hell of a lot of frustration, she allowed for a Saturday morning to be one of little movement.

It didn't stop her from having a little fun though.

Ever since Skye had been back in her own bed, her SO had gone into over-drive. Constantly hovering to make sure she was comfortable and always conscious if she even gave the slightest flinch of pain. As much as Ward's need to tend to her every minute made Skye feel cared for, a little guilty and a teensy bit giddy, it didn't stop her from having a bit of fun with him when she wanted.

Hey, she got shot twice, as far as she was concerned she earned it.

So when Ward knocked on the door of her bunk in the mid-morning Skye decided it would be a good opportunity to see how far her SO was willing to go for his injured rookie.

She was hoping pretty far.

"Come in," she called, the door sliding open fairly quickly after.

"Hey, I brought you some breakfast." Skye smiled gratefully as he handed her a plate of toast and mug of coffee. Once the meal was placed her lap she reached for his wrist as he turned to go.

"Sit with me for a bit?" She asked. Ward seemed taken off-guard but obliged, placing himself at the end of her bed. A brief moment of silence followed before Skye spoke again,

"When are we getting a new mission?" Ward gave her a pointed look,

"You're not getting a new mission for awhile, what you need is rest-"

"And recovery, yeah I know." Skye exhaled and picked at the food Ward had given her,

"Do you think you could pass me the coffee? It still hurts a little to reach over." Ward moved so quickly Skye could barely believe it, reaching for the mug and holding it up to her lips. Skye blew on the hot liquid gently,

"Thanks," She whispered. Ward smiled and Skye leaned forward, motioning for Ward to tip the drink to her lips. He followed suit and allowed her to take a gentle sip.

"Easy rookie," he said as Skye went to drink more of the hot coffee, removing it from her reach.

"Don't want to have it all too fast." Skye nodded in agreement.

"Do you think you could make me another? I like it with a little less sugar." Ward stood immediately,

"Sure, of course, sorry about that." He made for the door when Skye stopped him again,

"Oh and also could I have another pillow?"

"Yeah, got it."

"And maybe you could ask Simmons if she can give me another dose of pain meds?"

"Mhhm, anything else?" He asked, slightly irritated.

"Ward?

"Yeah?"

"I'm kidding," Skye relented, a smile stretching across her face. Ward seemed puzzled for a moment before sitting back down, closer to her this time.

"You had me going rookie." Skye gently patted his hand,

"Come on Ward, it's Saturday morning, can you be lazy just this once?" Ward thought over the idea before placing himself next to her.

"Lazy, I guess I can do that." He grabbed the coffee from next to her and took a long sip.

"So tell me Agent Ward, how does a true operations specialist have a lazy morning?" Ward gave her smile, which was extremely rare so Skye felt she had done something right.

"Watch and learn rookie, I've got a lot to teach you."
