Professor Oak and I went to heal my Pokemon.
"You did great out there! You're battle with Red was pretty impressive." He said.
Yeah, it actually was. I can't wait to talk to Red about it. I looked at the screen and saw Blastoise, Samurott, Ninetails, Gengar, Victreebel, and Kangaskhan. They were rested.
"You did great." I closed my eyes and whispered. "Now Hilda. I need to go next to your team and smile for the hall of fame picture." Professor Oak grabbed the camera.
"Cheese!" I smiled with all my Pokemon. I looked exhausted. But happy.
"Good Job Hilda..by the way, when are you going to Unova?" He asked me..
I forgot all about Unova. I'm scheduled for a flight next week...I have one more week with Red. It sucks how he won't come to Unova..
I thanked Professor Oak for all his help. I said I would see him later.
I then walked outside looking for Red.
"Red!" I called his name.
He wasn't there..
"Red?" I looked frantically. Where is he?
Suddenly, there was a Master Ball on the floor, and I picked it up. It said "White. (Hilda)" On it.
I called it out..
It was Red's Mewtwo..
What was it doing here? Why would he abandon it out here and then leave it out to me? I ran back to the lab and asked Professor Oak where Red is. He said he honestly didn't know.
I searched all night in the town of Pallet for him. He just wasn't there. What is he doing? It was getting late. I went to the lab where Professor Oak's assistant sets up the bed for me.
"I have to find him." I told him.
He tossed me a blanket. "Search tomorrow. Don't worry! Get some good sleep, champion." He smiled and shut the lights.
I didn't sleep well that night.
I woke up and the first thing I did was run to Blue's house. They have got to be home.
The door was opened, and I walked in. I saw Green and Blue sitting on a couch. He was feeding Green cherries, and they were giggling and flirting.
"GUYS!" I jumped in between their heads.
They looked alarmed. "Hilda!" They held on to their heart. "Uh..sorry to disrupt your make-out fest." I said..and they blushed.
"Good job on the league, Hilda!" Blue shook my hand. "Yeah, you were awesome!" Green agreed.
"Thanks guys! Have you guys seen Red?" I asked. They both shook their head.
"He didn't even stop by after the league.." Green tossed a cherry in her mouth.I frowned.
"Have you tried going to his house? It's northwest of the lab. I didn't say a word. I ran there as fast as I could and knocked on the door.
"H-Hello?" A woman answered the door.
"Hi! Is Red here?" I panted.
"No..this is his mother. You seem tired! Come inside!" She invited me inside. She walked me into their living room. "Sit there! I'll get you a class of ice cold water." She left the room.
I fiddled with my fingers, impatiently. I don't know where he went. I looked on top of the fire place. There was Red and Blue as five year olds. Another one of Red and his-aw! That's a charmander. And there was a picture of Green, Blue, and Red all laying down on grass. There were many childhood pictures of Red.
She handed me water. "I didn't know Red was back.." She said.
I cocked my head to the side. "He hasn't come home in ages. He's always...just somewhere." She stared.
"We've been traveling for almost a year though." I said. Her face lit. "Really? How is he!? How do you know him?" She gleamed with hope.
I shook my hand. "I'm his girlfriend. We battled yesterday for the indigo league. I won...and he just disappeared." I sighed.
She lost hope. "Sounds a lot like him." We talked for a while and already, night time dropped. I told her I was going to Professor Oak's lab to spend the sleep.
"No, Hilda! Stay here! You could sleep in Red's room." She walked me upstairs. His room was dark. She turned on the lights, and wished me good night. I could hear her silently weeping back to her room.
Day, after Day, Red didn't return. Today was the day I would return back to Unova. I got all my stuff ready and Professor Oak drove me to the airport. I had already transferred my pokemon including mewtwo to Professor Juniper. While I was done, I managed to catch and evolve all pokemon.
"Hilda..you did a great job. You filled up Dexter and won the Indigo League. I must say impressive." Professor Oak nodded. I didn't say much. I just nodded, very upset.
I was about to leave Red, without departure. I silently cried on our way to the airport.
Professor Oak said he was going to get a pass. He said he'll meet me up before I depart. I nodded as he left.
I walked into the gate. I stared at the window, staring at the world of Pokemon. I stared at the airplane, remembering first meeting Red. He was so indifferent. Thinking about him made me cry.
"Hilda!" Oak came back.
"Boarding plane: Pallet Town, Kanto to Numeva Town, Unova." We stared at the ceiling.
"I guess this his it." I wiped my tears before Professor Oak could see.
"Goodbye Hilda, you were a great impact." Professor Oak reminded me. I was about to burst into even more tears.
"You too, Oak. Thank you." I shook his hand. Business was taken care off. I went to board the plane.
"Hilda!" I heard a group of people. I turned around. It was Brock, Misty, , Erika, Koga, Blaine, Sabrina, Gary and Blue.
"What are you guys doing here?" I smiled asking them.
"Saying goodbye." Green smiled.
"We wanted to thank you." Koga said.
"For your braveness." Lt. Surge included.
"Your kindness." Brock stepped in.
"Your selflessness." Erika said.
"Your smartness." Blaine talked
"Your enthusiasm." Misty winked.
"Your style and energy." Sabrina said
"And your dedication." Blue said and handed a big glass heart that looked colorful
Professor Oak stood in the background smiling
I started crying. "W-what is this?" I sniffled.
"It's a bigger badge, mixed with our badges." Brock explained.
"You guys.." I bursted into tears. They all huddled and hugged me.
"You were an inspiration." Green said.
"For everyone, not just us." Misty reminded me.
"I'm going to miss you guys." more tears fell down my face.
They let go and disappeared as I said my final goodbyes. I ran away and cried into the plane.
"Brock...Misty..Thank you." I said. " Lt. Surge, Erika.." I fantasize. "Koga, Blaine, and Sabrina.." I sniffled.
I was seated and I cried even more remembering Blue, Green...and Red.
I had cried myself to sleep that night.
I woke up, dead. I grabbed my suitcase, and walked to my home. Back in Unova.
The first thing that came to my door was a big surprise from Hilbert, Mom, Cheren, and Bianca. I greeted them, and tried my hardest to fake a smile.
"Congrats!" They all cheered.
I shrugged inside.
"Hilda!" Hilbert hugged me. That was the first thing he did. He's never hugged me before..but I didn't feel any emotions. I just stood there like a statue, and forced a smile.
"It's good to have you back, squirt."
"The Indigo Plateau was AWESOME! Good job!" Cheren hi fived me. "Thanks Cheren.."I trailed off.
"Yeah! That was amazing." Bianca commented. I nodded. I looked dead.
"Hey Hilda, are you okay? You look upset. Like you were crying a lot!" Hilbert observed me.
I shrugged it off again.
"Hilda!" My mother gave me a big hug. "Mom!" I only felt like hugging her. I held on tight. I even cried into her chest. She let go." By the way, you received a letter..it was from..uh..someone named Red?" She held out an envelope.
"What!?" My face lit up. I stole the envelope. I ripped it up like crazy.
I began to read:
Dear Hilda,
Thank you for everything. I mean it. You taught me so much over the months I don't even know where I should start. First off, I'm sorry I lied to you. To be honest, I don't even know why I didn't tell you I would challenge you. I guess I was just too scared to battle you. Second of all, I'm really sorry I just left you, with out saying goodbye. I was hiding in Mt. Moon. I'm surprised no one told you that is my secret place. I just didn't want to face you after it. I'm sorry.
Dear Hilda,
You taught me so much. You taught me how to be opened to others. No one has seen me other than Silent, except Green and Blue. But this is different. Thank you so much for that. I now know that I can't sit there and be quiet.
Dear Hilda,
Thank you for teaching me about how to be energetic and enthusiastic, no matter how hard the battle is, or how hard the situation is. You were always so happy and kind, and that's something I find in myself that I haven't yet discovered. Thank you for just helping me find it.
Dear Hilda,
Thank you for helping me find love. I have never loved or felt this way about anyone. I didn't know it even existed inside of me. But you proved me wrong. You're personality and utter beauty has unlocked that inside my heart. Thank you, Hilda. I love you so much.
Dear Hilda,
Thank you for teaching me that everyone will change. No matter who it is. Even if it's Giovanni. No matter who they are, they always have a good heart. It's just the people around them needs to open it up. Just like you did. You didn't only change Giovanni, but you changed me. Thank you so much for doing that. I couldn't have done it even with my own mother.
Dear Hilda,
Thank you for making me understand about risk. I remember you did anything you did to get your pokemon back, or fight for your rights. No matter how unbelievably crazy it was, you did it. I mean, I've done the same. The thing is you've done it in a crazy way, that I now finally can catch on. I can try it on my self. Thank you, love. That was great.
Dear Hilda,
Finally, you opened my views. You taught me that you have to get out there no matter what the problem is. You change my mind. And this is where I'm proud to announce right now. The last few days, I left Mt. Moon. I have traveled to Johto to start my own Pokemon Journey. A new one. Thank you, for opening my eyes.
Yours Truly,
Red.
P.S I love you.
I wanted to rip my hair out. That's the last of it. I felt sick to the stomach. I cried even more. Hilbert, Cheren, and Bianca looked concerned.
"What happened?" Hilbert looked at me, sobbing.
"R-Red..left me..he went to Johto."
The door opened.
"But, I forgot to mention...I'm going to Johto with you." The familiar voice that I loved to hear ever so dearly, spoke.
