Devil May Cry : A Snow Woman's Kiss

Chapter 15 : Disguises and A Snow Woman

The Thursday morning sunlight trickled through the small opening between the two black curtains gleaming directly down onto his face, the groggy half-devil let out an annoyed groan then yawned. He was usually up early most days, but today just happened to be one of those rare days where he wished he could sleep in.

Despite it being a Thursday, this morning in particular felt more like a Sunday. At least he could take comfort in the fact that the weekend was only two days away. Slowly turning to look at his digital alarm clock, he saw that it was 7:45 AM

He only had fifteen minutes to get ready so he finally worked up the energy to get up out of bed and start his morning routine. Thankfully, he never usually took long and he didn't need to shower since he had done so before he slept last night. After doing that, Vergil got dressed, putting on his sleeveless vest and zipped it up then put on black slacks and threw over his custom blue blazer then finally put on his boots. He was ready for the day. As he locked his door he recalled the events of yesterday's Kendo club and reminded himself about the so called 'No Holds Barred' sparring round, which Vergil felt there was more to it than just a simple test of abilities. Orochi had some sort of unknown problem with him, so there had to be some other reason for his challenge, an ulterior motive that he had no idea about. Unfortunately, Vergil would just have to find out himself later.

There was many unanswered questions that floated in the back of his mind, the motive behind this match was one, but the one that had him perplexed was that Vergil felt like he'd seen Orochi somewhere before, and his last name, Minami sounded familiar and he had no idea why, it kept bothering him. He was almost certain he was familiar somehow, but he just couldn't put his finger on it. Vergil desperately wanted to try and put it all together, but it was no use. Despite accepting the fact he couldn't think of it, this would still continue to poke at him.

That was until he heard the familiar sweet soft voice of Mizore, whenever she'd appear, he would always forget his troubles, only Mizore had that kind of effect on him, ever since they had first become as close as they were now. They weren't official yet, but the two of them could tell that they had some kind of spark, and it would undoubtedly grow even stronger the more they would spend time together.

"Gooood morning Verg." She greeted him with a lollipop smile as the stick of the candy sucker poked out of her mouth like one often would.

"How was Kendo Club the other day?" Asked the Snow Woman.

"Good morning Mizore. It was alright, quite eventful though." He answered as he recalled the incident with Captain Minami.

"Eventful? How exactly?" She quizzed.

"We had a Sparring Rotation, that's about it." He replied, withholding the rest of what happened like he often would do.

"Oh I see.." Mizore knew he was hiding something and it always made her a little upset when he wouldn't tell her everything, but she never held it against him. Despite this, she continued to admire him, nothing would stop her from her feelings she had, but it didn't stop her from wishing he would just up and tell her things.

"Anyway, we should meet up with the others so we aren't late for homeroom." Said Vergil walking on ahead.

Mizore watched Vergil go on ahead. He wasn't aware of it, but she knew exactly what happened in his Kendo Club. Instead of watching tv and heading to bed last night like she told him, the Snow Woman went to her peeping spot she showed him and watched him secretly from the open sunroof window.

FLASHBACK SEQUENCE

Last Night

Kendo Club Sunroof:

Mizore watched Vergil's Kendo match with Ayumi, looking on in awe at his sharp swordplay skills observing with pink cheeks.

"Wow….Vergil's so hot when he fights, I'm already melting just watching him up here~" She cupped her cheeks with both hands as she continued to watch.

Once the class wrapped up, Mizore was about to take her leave, until she saw the Captain acting suspicious. From what she could tell, he was looking around to make sure no one followed him, then he jerked his head to the right as if someone called him over, she leaned in closer as she saw The Captain walk into the storage room,. Whoever it was, Mizore could feel the ridiculously massive monster energy coming from the storage room, whoever it was, this person was dangerously powerful.

"This monster energy…it's even stronger than Moka's." Thankfully, Orochi and the mystery man in the storage room didn't notice her energy because she was surpressing it, and because it was a chilly night, the cold helped further cloak her presence, so luck was in her favor tonight. As intimidating as this energy level was, Mizore took this chance to see whatever she could hear down below. Listening in closely. Mizore heard the demonic echo of another man speak.

"And make sure you stay in character, if you screw this up, everything I arranged will be wasted, that body you wear is your only thing keeping you here. I don't want all the trouble I caused to be for nothing, make sure you don't fail. This is your last chance."

"I understand sir, I will not fail you."

"See to it that you don't. I have several things planned, but they can only go into place if I have the Yamato..failure is not an option, you would do well to remember that."

The man went on.

"I will bring the weapon tomorrow morning, do not be late.."

"Yes lord Rataichi.."

"Good, be on your way now

The talking stopped from there,

"This Captain gig finally shows its true purpose….Vergil, I swear I'll kill you." Orochi laughed as he made his way to the door.

Mizore gasped after the exchange. So Minami was working with someone named Rataichi? Vergil had to know about this, the fight was all a trap after all.

Captain Minami had a feeling he was being watched, but before he could even look above, Mizore had moved away from the window.

Looking at the sunroof window from below, he stared at it for a few moments before brushing it off and leaving, still seemingly unaware of Mizore being there as he left the room.

"I have to tell Vergil.."

FLASHBACK SEQUENCE END

"Mizore? Are you coming?" Vergil asked, his voice bringing her back to reality and out of her train of thought. She blinked as her icy blue eyes met his as he stood looking over his shoulder at her.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Huh? Oh. Yeah, I'm fine. I just spaced out for a few seconds." She quickly replied as she caught up to him.

("I need to tell him what I heard, but I should wait until we're alone..") Mizore thought to herself, she didn't want the others to worry about him too, she was already worried. The monster energy she felt in the storage room was powerful, whoever he was talking to had power unlike anything she had ever felt, the energy was even greater than the late demon Kuyo the former head of the now non-existent Disciplinary Security Committee and Moka's energy combined.

She knew Vergil was very powerful, but it still wouldn't stop her from worrying about him dearly. Before she met him, she didn't think anyone in the world besides Tsukune would ever melt her heart again, until Vergil showed up, and the thought of her losing him scared her greatly. She lost Tsukune to Moka already from the very beginning, and she had finally come to terms with that. Perhaps she was just worrying too much, but she truly believed that if Vergil was gone, no one would ever come her way again and Mizore didn't want to be alone again.

She had friends of course, but she would do anything for Vergil. He melted her lonely heart a bit after his first arrival, now she had to melt his, and despite her being a woman of the snow, She could easily tell that Vergil's heart was far more frozen than hers was. Mizore assumed it had something to do with his hard and lonely life, but she wouldn't give up.

The group met up in the newspaper room like they always did whenever they had extra time before homeroom. The first two people there was Moka and Tsukune who greeted the other two with a smile.

"Hey, good morning you two!" Said Moka cheerful as always.

"Good morning guys." Tsukune added with a smile of his own as Mizore and Vergil took a seat.

"Good morning." Mizore replied

"Morning." Added the half-devil.

"So Vergil, how was Kendo Club the other day?" Asked Moka.

"It was very eventful." He answered.

"Oh yeah? What did you guys do?" Asked Tsukune.

"We had a rotation cycle sparring line, it was quite fun, a good return to pace."

"Sounds pretty cool." Tskune replied.

The clubroom door opened and in walked Yukari and Kurumu who took a seat with the others.

"Good morning guys! Sorry I'm late, I kinda slept a little late last night. There was a spell in that book my parents sent that I was trying to study, I was up until like two in the morning reading it." The little witch explained with a little chuckle.

"Two a.m? Wow. Studying is important , but so is getting a good amount of sleep Yukari, You should sleep earlier tonight." Moka mused.

"Don't worry! I'm not staying up tonight, I just got kind of carried away ahaha.." Yukari reassured.

"Okay that's good, because tomorrow is the first big test of the school year. You don't want to fall asleep during it." The pinkette reminded her.

"You're right! I nearly forgot! Okay! I'll make sure I get plenty of sleep tonight." A short pause.

"Besides, I DO have a reputation to uphold~" Yukari added with a proud smile and a little giggle.

The two smiled after the exchange.

Kurumu looked over at Vergil.

"So Vergil, word around school is that you and Kendo team Captain Orochi Minami are totally having an all-out match today, is that true?" Asked the ocean-haired succubus.

Immediately after her sentence, the others looked at Vergil very much surprised with the rumor. Annoyed, Vergil knew he couldn't hide it now that it was up in the air, denying it would just lead to more questions, so he had no choice now but to admit it.

A sigh escaped him before he replied.

"..Yes that's correct, he challenged me after I won my last match before club ended." He crossed his arms.

"This literally just happened last night, how did word spread so quickly?" He questioned.

"Almost every member of the Kendo club is talking about it, I actually overheard some talking about it on my way here." She explained.

Vergil let out an irritated sigh.

"I don't see the excitement behind it, it's merely a simple test of skill." Vergil complained

"A Captain doesn't just challenge anyone Vergil, they only challenge the member that's showed the most skill out of everyone! Don't you think it's an honor?" Kurumu questioned in disbelief, she thought Vergil would be into competitive fights.

"Not really, Orochi Minami isn't worthy of my respect or honor." Vergil simply replied.

"Seriously? He's a three time tournament champion! Not to mention he's also the heir to the Minami Sporting goods company! How could he not be?"

"His skills may be noteworthy, but beyond that nobility he's nothing in my eyes." Vergil sternly replied.

What Kurumu said filled in a blank in his mind. So that was why Orochi's familiar, it made sense now.

"Wow, I thought you guys had a code of mutual respect or something?" She replied, Vergil was acting a little strange today. Or was she just imagining it?

"We do, its customary for Kendo, but even still, I won't change my views on the Captain individually." Vergil said, promptly ending that topic of discussion.

"Now then, since we're finally done with that pointless topic." A pause.

"I have an announcement." He cleared his throat.

"Ever since I've joined, I noticed the Yokai Gazette has been thriving. I've even heard it's been the best newspaper around school for each semester. But I also couldn't help but notice the club is a bit behind the times, I figured a boost was much needed so I had a long talk with Ms. Nekoname and made an order a few days earlier." Vergil left the room after saying his piece leaving the others curious.

When Vergil walked back in he had a dolly with four packaged boxes, everyone wondered what it was he had in those boxes.

"What are those?" Asked Moka

"After our talk, she approved right away." Vergil conjured up a small blue Phantom Blade the size of a knife and began cutting open the first box while everyone watched looking on.

Once the tape was cut, Vergil crushed the phantom knife in his palm then took out the Styrofoam around the objects and the holds then took out a brand new printer.

"I'm sure everyone was sick of black and white, so I had Ms. Nekoname order us four color printers."

Once Vergil showed them, all their faces lit up.

"Oh my gosh! Vergil! that's so nice of you!" Exclaimed a very happy Moka.

"Color printers! Oh wow!" Tsukune added

"Yay! Color printers! That's so awesome!" Yukari cheered.

"Now our articles can really come to life. Thanks Verge." Kurumu praised.

"That's my Vergil, always full of surprises." Mizore mused with a smile.

"Well, I can't take all the credit. It was thanks to the combined efforts of Ms. Nekoname and Ruby, so be sure to thank them as well." He replied.

"You bet we will!" Replied Yukari vouching for everyone.

"Getting us color printers is like something like a club president would do don't you think?" Mizore mused.

"Yeah, while our ACTUAL club president STILL spends club time peeping on girls…Ugh.." Kurumu sighed.

"Um, Vergil, did you spend your own money on these?" Asked Moka.

"Not exactly, I just spoke to Ms. Nekoname and explained how hard everyone was working, she wasn't sure how to reward us for it. I managed to express how bad we needed an upgrade so Ruby pulled a few strings and spoke to the director and was able to take money out of the school funds for it." Vergil explained modestly.

Kurumu snorked.

"Well, at least you're being honest."

"And here I thought you were being all sweet by taking out of your own wallet for us too." She joked.

"If I had enough funds to afford four high quality color printers plus ink refills, I'd spend it on something much more valuable.." He answered, still with blunt honesty.

Kurumu quickly became apathetic.

"Oh wow ..How sweet" Kurumu sarcastically commented.

"Yep…a total sweetheart." Yukari added.

"Still, That doesn't mean it meant nothing! I'm still really happy he did this for us!" Moka quickly added.

"Yeah, because of this, our articles will be even more popular." Mizore also adds.

Kurumu half smiles.

"Yeah, I know. He still did us a solid."

"Now I can't wait for our next article!" Yukari exclaimed, excitedly throwing her arms up in the air. Their next issue would be their first full paper in all color.

Moka looked up at the clock on the wall and gasped.

"Guys, Homeroom starts in ten minutes! We should get going."

Everyone else glanced over at the clock, she was right. It was probably a good idea to head to homeroom.

"Very well, this meeting can come to a close, but the club meeting tomorrow is one we can look forward to. If you think of any article ideas, right them down if you can't remember." Vergil spoke, putting the club meeting to a close. They had new printers, and with color, Vergil was sure it would make the Yokai Gazette even more popular than it already was.

"So Vergil, What time is the fight at?" Asked Kurumu now that club business had concluded for the day.

"It's at Kendo Club today, so around five." Replied Vergil.

"Sweet, I'll be sure I'm there with a front row seat! See ya in class!" Said Kurumu running on ahead to catch up to Yukari and the others.

As Vergil was about to join them, he felt a couple taps on his shoulder. It was Mizore who was trying to get his attention.

"Wait.." She said gently, stopping Vergil in his tracks, he looked back.

"What is it?" He asks.

"There's something I need to tell you.." She replied softly.

"Alright, what is it?" He asks waiting for his answer.

"Last night, I didn't fall asleep, I was watching your class." She answered.

"Was that it?" He wasn't really surprised considering how she was openly a stalker.

She shakes her head.

"I overheard the Captain and someone else, he was talking to him after club finished."

Vergil's eyes narrowed, so he was right, there were other minds at work.

"Really? Did you hear anything conclusive?" He questions.

"Only a little bit, but I found out that the challenge is really a ploy to kill you. The other man mentioned he would be bringing something tomorrow morning so it's safe to say he already has whatever it was he brought." Mizore answered.

"What else?" He quizzed.

"Orochi called the man he was talking to Rataichi.." She answered, the name of the second man sounded foreign to her lips.

Vergil raised a brow at the name.

"…Rataichi?" He repeated. So, he was finally out of the shadows.

"I see, so he's finally appeared then…Interesting.."

"Do you…know him?" She asked.

"You could say that.."

Another vague response again, she knew he trusted her, but if only Vergil trusted her enough to tell him everything. But as much as she wanted that, she was just glad she was able to tell him if it meant keeping him safe.

"Anything else Mizore?"

She shook her head.

"Nothing else. But I want you to promise me something.."

"What am I promising?" He asked.

"Whoever that was giving Orochi orders, he's strong, really strong. I felt his monster energy and its stronger than Moka and Kuyo's combined so.."

A pause as a layer of bright pink around her cheeks.

"Please be really careful. You're strong, I get it. But what if he's stronger than you? If anything would ever happen to you…I'd.." Mizore's voice trails off as her expression saddened putting a hand to her chest.

Vergil just half smiles resting a hand gently on her shoulder.

"Don't worry Mizore, I promise I'll be fine. As powerful as this foe may be, I refuse to let myself fall again, not after coming this far." Vergil replied.

The words of his promise filled her with a bit of relief, her expression became a bit more lighter again.

She slowly nods.

"Okay." She smiles small.

Suddenly, Kurumu called out to them from ahead.

"Hey! Are you guys coming or what? Homeroom is in five minutes!" She shouted waving over at the two.

Vergil looked back at Mizore.

"Guess we should join them then." Vergil takes a step ahead then stops to look back at her.

"Thank you for the information Mizore, it's been very helpful." He gave a side glance smile before walking on ahead.

Mizore smiles for a moment then hurries to catch up to Vergil and joins him and the others as they make their way to homeroom.

Once in homeroom, the gang takes their seats as Ms Nekoname enters the room with a smile on her face as always.

"Good morning class! I'll take attendance in a moment but right now I have someone we'd like to introduce."

For a moment, Ms. Nekoname is surprised whilst looking through the classroom door window before she eventually invites the guest in.

Everyone in class was expecting a new guy teacher, but once the door opened. In walked a woman with tanned skin, blue eyes, silver white hair in a chin-length bob.

She wore a rather revealing lacy white one-piece with orange accents that just barely revealed her chest and her inner thighs. Her chest part was held together with orange string ties in a zig-zag design. The bottom half of the one-piece had long tail end, but she wore a white matching mini-skirt below with the tail end tucked firmly under the skirt. On her legs she had long white thigh-length high heeled boots.

As soon as the new gym teacher entered, the class let out a gasp.

"Uhm, I thought the director said we'd be getting Mister Redgr-"

"-I'm a longtime friend of his, he unfortunately got caught up in a few things and asked if I could take over for him." Replied the woman who cut off Ms. Nekoname immediately before she could finish the name.

"O-Oh I see.."Replied they're homeroom teacher.

Vergil was already skeptical of the new teacher, he didn't know her exact reason for being here, but the quick cover up alone was enough to draw his suspicions, especially since the first bit of the name their teacher mentioned sounded vaguely familiar.

"Oh and yes, the director already knows about it." She added.

"U-Uhm okay then, everyone this is your new gym teacher Miss…" Ms Nekoname didn't get her name so she let the woman take over.

"You can call me Ms. Gloria,"

She didn't stop there.

"I know I'm not the original replacement, but I truly hope you'll all still treat me nicely~" She cooed at the end of her sentence which just riled up the boys in the class.

"Holy shit! Look at her!"

"I know! I'm actually REALLY glad the other teacher canceled."

"Me too! Just look at her, she's smoking hot!"

"I've never seen a teacher sexier before, I can't wait for gym now!"

"Awww thank you, make sure you boys treat me right, if you do. Maybe you'll get a little ol' reward~" Gloria said, a purr in her voice. She winked which only made all the boys in the classroom stand up and applaud with hearts in their eyes.

"We love you Ms. Gloria!" Cheered the boys.

"D'aaaw I love you all too, but don't misbehave or I'll have to punish you. Toddles for now boys" After that, Ms. Gloria left the room, but waited outside the door for a bit out of view from the window.

"Ugh! Great now we have a skank for a gym teacher." Kurumu whispered to her friends, annoyed.

"I'd rather have a skanky teacher than a perverted guy teacher." Mizore added.

"Good point." Yukari replied.

"Uhm, I think she's nice!" Moka shyly added.

"Me too! Well, sort of?" Yukari admitted. She wasn't too sure what to think of her yet. The little witch just hoped the teacher was kind and caring like a teacher should be.

"I just hope she's not like the other teachers that tried to kill me eheh…." Tsukune mused, a shiver as he thought back to the Swim club president and Math teacher.

"Oh yeah, from what you told me, you've had terrible luck with teachers before." Vergil recalled.

"Yep Ahaha…" Tsukune sighed with a sweat drop.

"Don't worry Tsukune, I'm sure this one isn't like the others,.." Moka replied, hoping to reassure him.

Vergil looked back at Gloria, something was off about that teacher, something about her voice sounded familiar to him but he just couldn't tell why.

Mizore saw Vergil's gaze and noticed him looking at Gloria for a long time as if he was closely scrutinizing her.

"Vergil, question?" She asks.

He looks back at her.

"What is it?"

A thin layer of pink over her pale cold cheeks before she speaks.

"You're not into all that teacher-student fantasy stuff are you?" She shyly asks, gently fiddling with her fingers as she waited for his answer.

The question threw Vergil off guard, his eyes rounded in shock at the question

"What?! No of course not!" He quickly exclaimed.

"Okay good." Mizore exhaled a sigh of relief.

"Why would you even ask that?"

"Well, what was I supposed to do, risk letting some cougar steal you away from me?" She replied.

Just before turning away from the door, Gloria heard what Mizore had called her. A red vein popped on her head as she did her best to bite her tongue. She had to stay in character, but it still pissed her off.

"Cougar?!" She sneered.

"The nerve of that purple haired bitch!" She took a few deep breaths to help herself calm down.

"Ugh, I'm just gonna get this all over with, I have a while left before the first report." Gloria prepared herself mentally for everything she had coming to her as she made her way to the gymnasium.

"I'm doing him a huge favor, he'd better pay me extra for this…"

Back at homeroom

With the introduction of the new teacher out of the way, it was time for attendance. That only took about five minutes. Once that was done, the first class bell rang.

The first class of the day was English class, that went by like usual. Of course, the teacher Maki never failed to give Vergil a headache with his idiotic favorite words.

He really hated this class and it was all because of 'Excellent' Maki. Vergil didn't think he'd ever grow to hate a teacher this much, until now.

"Why does he feel the need to say those words so much? Never did I think I'd come to hate a teacher this bad.." Vergil said to Mizore who was sitting next to him like she often would whenever they had a class together.

"I know exactly what you mean. This one time, I passed an English exam with full marks because I actually bothered to study, in his final mark he said I did 'magnificently excellent' I know it's supposed to be encouraging, but…it wasn't at all." She explained

"So he had to write it with a pen too..?" Vergil replied, very unamused.

"Apparently." She replied.

Vergil drooped his eyelids apathetically

"..Exasperating.."

Mizore giggled a little making Vergil raise a brow.

"Did I say something funny?" He asks.

"You always use these big smart sounding words. You're like a walking dictionary," Mizore answered.

"A walking dictionary?" He repeated.

"Yep, it's cute, in a nerdy way." She teases with a lollipop smile.

"Hmph.." Vergil crosses his arms.

Next class was originally supposed to be cooking class, but this time, Vergil had a different class instead, it was only cooking for the girls today .

It was sort of a mock cooking test for them while the guys had a similar class lined up tomorrow. For today, the guys had a different class, but it all depended on which optional class they had picked, Vergil was given his decision to choose the day after he first joined Yokai and he ended up taking metal shop, he eventually wanted to learn how to blacksmith and metal shop would help start with that.

He already knew how to sharpen a blade as he learned it years ago at a young age, but creating blade shapes would help his creativity, and he had lots in mind when it came to blades.

It was a newly added class, so quite a few guys were there. Thinking back, it was still hard to believe he was here in school at his age. But it did give him a chance to actually experience High School for once, something he never got to experience due to the life-altering tragedy of his eighth birthday.

After his mother died, it was all about surviving on his own, he never had the chance for a normal life, but it was pretty interesting so far and he wasn't hating it anymore. Vergil had found some good people here, people he could enjoy calling friends. He was still getting used to all this though, but despite how close he would get with the others in his group, there wouldn't be anyone as close to him as Mizore was, but he still treasured all of his friends equally regardless.

In Metal shop, the guys were at work shaping metal pieces and cutting them up with the special machines used for all metal works.

This was one of the very first metal shops in this semester, this was also Vergil's first metals class, after a few minutes of observing everything, he was able to get the hang of it rather quickly. Surprisingly, Tsukune was in this class as well.

Spotting Vergil, he waved getting a nod in return from the half-devil who continued his work, he was currently belt grinding a few ragged edges on a few pieces of metal.

Today's assignment was easy. There were three safety videos they had to watch then students had to make metal ornaments for display, a simple task for beginning metal shop students. But Vergil was doing something entirely different and experienced. It was easy to see he was already adjusting pretty well. After ten more minutes, the class was allowed a short break.

Since they had a good ten minutes before class would resume, Tsukune walked over to his friend.

"Hey Vergil, I didn't think I'd see you here." He greeted with a friendly smile like always.

"Hello Tsukune, I can say the same for you, I thought you would be in wood shops, I heard you often took that class." He replied.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I was there earlier this year." Tsukune answered. The two looked at the rest of the class, and as usual when the girls had cooking class, all the guys were lost in their own little world. All of them were zoning out fawning over the fact that their female friends would cook them something delicious. To Vergil, it was a pathetic showing.

"So, are all the male students always this mindless and stupid on these particular days?" He asked Tsukune.

Tsukune chuckled a little and rubbed the back of his head.

"eheheh… yeah you could say that, whenever the girls are cooking something in class, the guys always end up doing this, earlier this year before you came here, I was in Wood shop and Saizo nearly sawed my foot off, twice.." Tsukune mused looking back.

"Really?" Vergil took a long glance at the dazed students then back to Tsukune.

"It's pathetic, knowing all these guys are monsters, yet when it comes to the girls cooking, they are mindless imbeciles. Much like common human men.." Vergil comments.

"ahahah…" Tsukune rubbed the back of his head.

{"Wow, Vergil's pretty direct when it comes to humans.."} Tsukune thought to himself. Vergil was pretty blunt about things, but Tskune didn't take any offense from it. Well, Maybe a little.

"Oh well, they can be drones all they want. But as for me, I'm going to actually finish my work." Vergil replied.

"Yeah, I saw you working pretty hard, what did you end up making?" Tsukune asked.

Vergil pulled over a long basket, pieces of metal inside clanged as he moved it in view. Tsukune's jaw dropped as Vergil presented his work. The basket was all filled with long pieces of metal that looked like an array of Sword blades as well as knife blade's, daggers and even throwing knives. Of course, all the blade edges were dull right now since they were just made and shaped, but he could easily sharpen the after connecting the handles.

"I've been making several sword and knife blade prototypes, I plan on learning to blacksmith, I intend to learn how to properly make other swords and bladed weapons eventually." Vergil explained, he seemed to be very into it when it came to anything to do with swords or blades. Of course he didn't need another blade since the Yamato and his blue phantom blades were all he needed. But one day he wanted to create his own blade just like his late father did.

"Sword and knife pieces huh?..That's uh…pretty cool eheh.."

("Holy crap! He made all these in Metal shop!? How? And So easily.")

Tsukune wasn't sure what else to say, it was pretty neat and the sword blades looked professional enough, but at the same time, the fact that Vergil had spent most of metal shop class making blades was a little bit intimidating.

But he knew Vergil wouldn't hurt him since they were friends, but he just wasn't expecting that.

"How about you? What did you make?" Vergil asked in return.

"Huh? Oh! Uhmm, nothing special. It's not as cool as sword pieces." He nervously replied.

Vergil raised a brow, he had an idea what Tsukune made, he just didn't know exactly what it was.

"You made something for Moka didn't you?" Vergil replied knowing full well that Tsukune did.

"I uh…" Tsukune stuttered, a bit embarrassed that Vergil was able to point it out so easily.

"I suppose I nailed it didn't I?" Vergil replied, Tsukune was easy to read.

"I made a steel vase for her." He answered with a nod.

"A Steel vase? Pretty experienced compared to ornaments.." Vergil replied.

Tsukune nodded.

"I did an introduction to metal shop in middle school, so I'm familiar with this kind of class." He explained.

"So you've done this before then? I suppose this makes us superior compared to the others."

"I guess in a way, but I wouldn't go that far."

"Regardless, we'll both likely to succeed in this class quicker than most."

"I think so too. How about you Vergil? Have you done metal shop before?" Asked Tsukune.

Vergil shook his head

"I never had the chance to experience school, I was too busy surviving," He replied.

"Oh I see." Tsukune almost felt a little insensitive for asking so carelessly.

"But I do know how to sharpen blades, I suppose that has something to do with my decision for this class," Vergil added.

"Anyway, what made you want to make a vase?" He asked.

"Moka likes flowers too so I figured I could give her something to put lots in.." Tsukune went to grab it and presented it to him. The vase was rounded well and the shape was perfect, there wasn't even a single sharp part, Tsukune made a pretty good quality vase.

"It's actually well made for a vase."

"Thanks, I hope she likes it." Tsukune replied.

"I'm sure she will, but I would suggest decorating it first so it's not just plain." Vergil suggests. Moka would like anything from Tsukune, but making it presentable would make it even more special.

Tsukune smiled.

"Hey good idea! Thanks Vergil."

"Just a simple suggestion, but you are welcome."

Class soon continued then everyone went back to work.

Meanwhile in cooking.

The girls were creating an original recipe, the task today was to invent your own signature dish using everything they had learned in cooking. It could be a past recipe that the student had made before as long as it was their own idea and ingredients.

This class was just to see what level they were at in terms of cooking level, so a mock test to see what they needed help with and to help express creativity.

Ms. Aspara had just finishing writing on the chalk board, it read:

Cooking Assessment:

Creativity = Art

Art = Explosion ;

"Alright everyone! For today's class is just for assessments, make whichever dish we've learned in a past class or something of your own creation. Today is about testing your cooking level and creativity! Which I think the latter is much more important. Good creativity can make even the simplest dish much more explosive!" Explained Ms. Aspara.

Moka was making a simple meat stew but with her own ingredients and spices to give it a unique taste that was true to her. It was western style food, but she learned and studied different kinds of food so she could wow Tsukune with her food.

Kurumu was cooking a homemade Rice omelet with her own mix of spices(With a touch of small sexual performance enhancers and love potions as usual, only this time in pill form, she had broken it up into powder to mix in easier with the omelet ingredients.) she obviously never learned her lesson from last time.

While Yukari was making Oden, this time, she made sure not to mix in reptiles and other slimy creatures like she did with her curry many months ago and it was all looking good and smelling good, so she was on the right track this time.

Mizore decided to revisit her Shaved Ice Curry. Since Vergil wasn't here when she first came up with it, she wanted him to try it, and this time around she was adding a few new spices to make it taste even better than it already was, she carefully measured the right amount of spices she needed, she didn't want it too spicy or too sweet, she was making it for Vergil and wanted to make it extra special, she even went so far as to add a few new extra ingredients such as Pork, Chicken and Bacon. Cooked to perfection and all cut up in little pieces to mix in with the curry just for him.

Moka put her stew on simmer to go see how her friends were doing.

"Hey Yukari, making Oden today?" She asked.

The little witch smile and turned to her.

"Hi Moka! Yep, that's right. This will turn out way better than my curry last time around, what are you making?" She asked.

"Me? Oh I'm making Meat and Vegetable Stew, I didn't want to make something too overwhelming this class." She replied.

"I'm also challenging myself to try and make something simple more delicious." Moka beamed.

"There's nothing wrong with that, even simple foods can be delicious! And I'm definitely sure you'll make it even better." Yukari praised the decision giving her friend a bright smile.

"Thanks Yukari, the oden is looking good so far." Moka complimented.

"Thank you Moka!" Yukari gave a cheery smile and went back to work as Moka moved onto Kurumu.

"Hey Moka, making stew today?" The succuby asked.

"Yep! I decided to challenge myself and try to make something simple even more delicious." She replied with a shy smile.

"Wow, that's actually a pretty cool idea." Kurumu praised. She was genuinely impressed with Moka's decision. But being a love rival as well as a friend, she wouldn't openly admit it, at least not completely.

"Really? Thanks Kurumu!" Moka smiled, a thin layer of pink on her cheeks, and her eyes bright with joy.

"No problem! Besides, You just gave me an idea for next class so I should be thanking you. Mine will blow Tsukune away. See ya."

"Wha—" Moka's eyes rounded, her next sentence had her a bit dejected. She was a friend, but once a rival, always a rival. Moka had to remember that.

Moka was a little bit hurt, but she wasn't surprised either, this was Kurumu and she had said something similar to her before so Moka shook it off and used this to encourage her to make her strew a masterpiece.

Moka used the last bit of time she had left to go see Mizore since she looked very determined since the start of this class. The very last Practical cooking test she had, Mizore had been more discouraged and tried avoiding class, but after mind controlling curry took over the school thanks to an angry Ms. Aspara.

Mizore's original curry recipe was born and its success inspired her to create more shaved ice variations of food. This impressed Moka, she was proud of her friend, she'd come so far.

"Hi Mizore. Is that your signature curry recipe again?" Asked the pinkette Vampire.

"Oh, hey Moka. Yep, you guessed it, but I've added in a few extra things. It's for Vergil so I wanted to make it even more unique and delicious." Mizore chimed, she was really looking forward to what Vergil would think of it, But it wouldn't stop her from being a bit nervous.

"Wow! That smells really good Mizore! I'm sure Vergil will love it." Moka cheered, it really did smell amazing.

Mizore smiled "You really think so? Thanks Moka."

"Of course he will. I'll see you after Mizore." Moka gave her a smile, a nod then made her way back to her food as Mizore went back to work on hers.

Class went on and finally ended, just in time for lunch break too. The lunchtime bell sounded and Students left the class and went to the lunchroom. But Vergil and the others decided to have lunch together in their classroom.

The group met up and pushed their desks together. Then the girls let the guys sit first, so Vergil and Tsukune sat on one side, Vergil the opposite side of him but about one chair over to even out the space a bit since the other three girls crowded Tsukune arguing about who would feed him first.

"That's not fair you guys! I didn't sneak in this time, so he should try mine first!" Moka argued.

"True! But he's trying mine first already!" Kurumu retorted.

"Noo! Tsukune's trying mine first! My curry was ruined with Ms. Apsara overly spicing my food!" Yukari shouted.

The girls grabbed ahold of Tsukune's arms pulling him left and right while Yukari jumped on his back wrapping her little arms around his neck and also pulled.

"Take it easy you three! I can try all of your food, please just let go!" Tsukune protested, trying his best to try and calm down the three bickering girls.

"Plus this kinda hurts!" He added.

As Tsukune's harem fought over him, on the far side was Vergil sitting casually as Mizore approached him with a plate of her remastered Shaved Ice Curry made especially for Vergil.

"Hello Mizore, how was class?" He asked.

"It was great…" She took a deep breath.

"I uhm, I made something for you.." She spoke shyly, bright pink on her snow white cheeks.

"For me? What did you make?" He asked.

Tsukune's harem stopped temporarily as the others watched the exchange between the two.

"Mizore really worked extra hard on her curry recipe, she even added extra ingredients just for him." Moka explained with a smile.

"Really? Wow." Tsukune smiled.

"I'm sure he'll love her curry." He added.

"Well, Vergil usually likes anything when it comes to Mizore so I think so too." Yukari added with a smile.

Kurumu thought about things as she watched the two analyzing, it was hard to believe she was that head over heels for him. She showed similar traits for when she had a crush on Tsukune, only she was doing so much more for Vergil. A sure sign of true love for him. Her feelings were so strong for him, it was sweet seeing her friend so into someone.(Not just because it was someone other than Tsukune, but that likely be a was large part of it.)

"I made one of my signature dishes.." Mizore shyly answered.

With a small boost of courage, she presented the plate to him along with a spoon.

"That looks quite exotic. What's it called?" Vergil asked.

"I-It's my Shaved Ice Curry. But I uhm..added some extra things.." Mizore's cheeks were red at this point, this was the first time she ever made her signature recipe for Vergil so she was nervous.

"Shaved Ice Curry?" Vergil gently took the plate and spoon lightly setting the plate on the table in front of him.

Looking at the food, he used his spoon and took his first spoonful while Mizore watched, she was so shy right now, she had forgotten about the chairs in front of her and stayed standing.

Vergil put the first spoonful to his mouth and was immediately blown away by the flavor. The texture was great and the meat mixed in was well cooked providing him with a delicious experience, he took in the spice and quickly took a spoonful of the ice. Scooping some curry with it before putting it in his mouth.

It was delicious, no it was better than that, It was so good it was divine. Vergil quickly finished the rest. It was the first homemade recipe of hers he ever tried.

"S-So how was it?" The snow woman shyly asked.

Vergil smiled.

"I've never had homemade curry before, but." A pause as he found the words.

"Mizore, that was truly the best curry I've ever tasted. I can't even describe how delicious it was." He went on.

"Thank you Mizore, I enjoyed that very much, best lunch I've eaten here I can say that for certain."

Mizore's eyes lit up brightly, she was so happy he enjoyed it.

She slowly smiled, bright pink across her face.

"I'm really glad you liked it.. I did my best for you."

"I'm looking forward to trying more of your food sometime Mizore, especially ones as delicious as this one."

Mizore blushed and nodded.

"Well, I'm looking forward to making more for you."

The two exchanged a warm smile.

After enjoying the heartfelt moment, the other girls returned to fighting over Tsukune in the background while Mizore took a seat next to Vergil for the remainder of lunch.

Eventually, the lunch period ended and the remaining three classes of the day went on. Art was next but it just learning about sculpting for the next art class.

After art class was History class, in History it basically switched between human history and monster history. Since the purpose of the school was to teach monsters how to live alongside humans, learning about humanity's history was just as important as monster history. Today's class was teaching about the first world war the cause and effect. Vergil may not have went to school, but he knew about humanity's dark history.

That class finished and it was time for the final class of the day and it was Gym class.

Unfortunately. Vergil couldn't skip today so much to his dismay, he would have to attend. Mizore was probably just hanging out since she didn't need to attend gym since she was granted an automatic pass due to the incident a few days ago.

Vergil didn't like gym for one reason, the outfit. A white T-Shirt and red track pants? He hated it. He only agreed to take gym if he was given blue track pants, and he was. Vergil was a bit satisfied, but still didn't change his opinion on how stupid it was.

"Alright everyone! Fitness test time. I may not have been here to witness it myself, but I do have your folders and that's all I need so let's get to it, everyone needs to work up a sweat." Announced Ms. Gloria who was wearing gym teacher attire that was pretty much made up of black and white sports bra and black tights made up of thin material so she was comfortable but was still able to show off her thighs.

Among the other students, Vergil easily aced each test. The running test, strength test, long jump and even the physical exercise endurance test. All were completely with new records in each.

During all the tests, Vergil would notice Ms. Gloria looking at him which didn't help his already rising suspicion. He knew she was here for a different reason other than to teach. But he had no idea whatever her true intentions were and if she was the person she claimed to be.

Done with his tests, Vergil sat on a bench just outside the track and field area.

Not far away, watching from a lower roof of the school was Mizore. She was watching Vergil of course, but was also keeping tabs on Ms. Gloria. Mizore was still worried that she had her eyes on him despite Vergil's reassurance but Mizore wouldn't risk losing him to her regardless.

As Vergil waited for class to finish, Ms. Gloria approached him. Mizore who was watching him saw her make her way to him and she immediately glared watching the exchange closely.

"Vergil, that was a pretty impressive display. You finished all your tests before everyone else." She greeted.

"It was nothing really." He stoically replied.

"Oh but it wasn't just nothing." A very short pause.

"It seems to me that you're talent exceeds every single student here, it's almost like you have no need for a school,"

Vergil narrowed his eyes at her sentence, just what was she trying to get at?

"And what exactly are you trying to say Ms. Gloria..?" Vergil replies, suspicion rising in his glare.

"If I may, why exactly did you come to Yokai Academy? Surely a monster of your abilities has no need for something as trivial as school?"

Vergil's glared deepened, why the need for an odd question?

There was a brief silence as Vergil glared while she smiled. The silence didn't last long, Gloria suddenly began laughing changing her serious tone to a more friendly one.

"Oh well, whatever you're reason is, I'm glad it gives me the chance to have such a capable student in my class! I'm looking forward to seeing more from you" She gave her best convincing friendly smile.

"Right.. thank you." Vergil replied.

A few seconds after, Tsukune finished his tests and walked over to Vergil joining him on the bench a bit out of breath from his final test.

"Hey Vergil…"

Tsukune waved taking a seat next to him.

"Hey Tsukune." Vergil answered handing him a cold bottle of water.

"Thanks." Tsukune took it and opened it taking a big long sip of it.

"Phew~"

"Oh hey Ms. Gloria." Tsukune greeted just now noticing her being there.

"Hello mister Aono. Good job out there. It seems you broke your record of last year's test by ten minutes!" The teacher cheered.

"Really? Wow I had no idea." Tsukune proudly replied, he had completely forgotten about his results of last semesters test.

"Keep it up! Enjoy the rest of your day boys~" With a wave, Ms. Gloria returned to survey her other students.

"So what was Ms. Gloria doing here?" Asked Tsukune.

"Oh, just commending me on finishing first that's all." He lied. Tsukune didn't need to become suspicious of her, Vergil would keep an eye out for more strange behavior such as the previous moment. There was definitely something odd about her and the strange question confirmed it.

"Oh I see, Nice! You always seem to finish gym class first, it is pretty impressive."

"I suppose in some aspect, yes. But you beating your previous record is also something equally impressive."

"Yeah I guess you're right. Thanks."

Class went on and finally finished as the class ending bell sounded.

"Good job today everyone! If any of you don't get a passing mark, please don't be worried. I'm always open to giving students another chance. I believe in every one of you. Have a good evening everyone and I'll see you all in class a couple days from now."

Ms. Gloria's ending speech drew another applause, the majority of it coming from the other boys in class as expected.

But with the school day officially finished, all that was left was the fight with Minami later today.

There was no newspaper club meeting until tomorrow since the group would be studying since there was a big test tomorrow. Everyone was going to be studying, Mizore and even Vergil. Because everyone in the group decided to hit the books, Moka suggested a group study session and everyone agreed. So they all met up in the library and began to study.

The group enjoyed their time together as they prepared for the test. The group kept focused. Time seemed to fly from that point, and when they were finished, there was about an hour left before Vergil's fight.

With the remaining hour, Vergil returned to his room to put some sort of plan together for the fight. Vergil liked to be one step ahead of his foes, especially when they were trying to kill him, a common situation for a Son of Sparda so this wasn't anything new to him.

Elsewhere, in the girls dorm, Mizore got out of bed after spending her time reading cooking recipe's to add her Shaved Ice too.

Looking through her window she had a good view of the boys dorm which ironically, Vergil's room was right across from hers. She saw his light was on so she knew he was in there. She wondered what he was thinking about, she asumed it was the fight. She checked the clock and saw she still had about half an hour before his bout.

With the leftover time, the snow woman decided she'd go pay him a visit. She imagined how wonderful it would be to be inside his room as well as hers, but really, anywhere where they were alone was a treasure.

"If he's stressed, I'll have to do my very best to cheer him up." With some determination, Mizore left her room locking the door behind her.

Getting to his room would be easy, she knew several ways that lead there due to her impressive stalking skills.

Sneaking out of the girls dormitory, Mizore reached the courtyard. But on her way to the next dorm over, the snow woman saw two other girls from the dorm, they were talking amongst theirselves. Mizore just ignored as she passed by, but stopped when she heard something from their conversation that caught her attention.

"Hey Amaya, how was your visit to the human world?" The other asked.

"It was great, I got to see an old friend. But listen to this! Your not going to believe it."

"What is it?"

"Remember the Minami Sporting goods company? Well apparently, the son of Sakouchi Minami, Orochi, he was found dead a few days ago."

"What? Seriously? But that's impossible, he has a fight with a member of the Kendo Club soon!"

Mizore gasped at overhearing that.

("He's dead? Then how is he here?") She thought to herself.

"You probably heard wrong Amaya."

"No I'm serious! I even brought back a copy of a newspaper from the human world." The girl named Amaya proceeded to pull out the newspaper and show her friend.

"I don't understand." Said the other friend as she read in disbelief.

Mizore popped up from around the corner startling the two.

"Excuse me, but if you don't mind, do you think you can lend me that? A very close friend of mine is the person fighting him tonight."

"Uh..Sure I have an extra anyway." The girl handed to Mizore and she headed right to the guys dormitory building not caring about If she was seen.

Upon entering the boy's dorm, one male student was walking by and saw her.

"Hey, you're not suppos-" He was cut off as Mizore passed by freezing him solid as she went to Vergil's door. Once there she knocked.

The knock at the door took the devil out of his train of thought. He got out of his bed and opening the door surprised to find Mizore on the other side.

"Mizore? What brings you here?" He asked.

Without a word she walked in.

"Sure, come on in.." Vergil mutters as she walks by. He just shrugs and shuts the door behind her.

"Vergil! There's something you need to know."

"If it made you hurry over, then it must be pretty important." Vergil replied.

"It is. It's about Orochi." She paused briefly.

"What about him?"

Mizore showed Vergil the copy of the human world newspaper, he took it from her and read the headlining article.

"Heir to the Minami Fortune found murdered..?" Vergil wasn't sure what to say. So he read the rest.

"Tuesday Morning Japan's police force found the body of Orochi Minami, the rightful heir to the Minami Sporting Goods Company, the body was recovered Tuesday at about six fifteen in the morning. The victim had several large gashes across his chest, back and even had his eyes gouged out. Before the autopsy on the following day, the mortician found the corpse of the young heir missing. Police are investigating night and day trying to figure out any clues but so far have nothing. More to come."

"Mizore..how did you get this?" He asked.

"Some girls were talking about it and she pulled it out, I borrowed it." A pause.

"So…what doyou think this means?" she asks.

Vergil closed the paper and puts it down on the dining table.

"It means the Orochi Minami here is an imposter. Whoever it was that killed him, is now assuming his identity.. quite an interesting turn of events…but it does explain a lot." The half-devil replied

"You've helped me out a lot now Mizore, I very much appreciate it…"

The sentence made Mizore smile.

Vergil checked the clock, they had about twenty minutes left before the fight. Since Mizore came al this way to tell him this very vital information, he figured she deserved something in return.

"We have under half an hour but, since you're here. Would you care for a cup of tea?" He asked, turning to face her.

"Sure, but only if it's cold." Mizore replied with a smile.

Vergil headed to his kitchen.

"Of course. It's not much, but you're welcome to make yourself at home." Vergil offered.

"I will, thanks." She said, holding her smile. While Vergil was in the kitchen, she took in his room assortment. He had lots of Bookshelves, more than her. She saw his sword the Yamato in its sheath on the wall near his bed so he could just grab it if needed. The dining table was western style so she was sitting in a chair at the table.

The entire layout of the room was similar to hers with the exception of the few other western style elements aside from the table. On a coat rack she saw his signature blue jacket hanging, on a nightstand where his lamp was she also saw his brow fingerless gloves sitting there.

For the first time she was in his room instead of him being inside her room. It was nice, but again, she was a little nervous, but that was normal.

Vergil boiled the water and when it was ready, he poured himself a cup and one for Mizore as well. He returned to the dining table and put her cup of tea down by her then sat in the seat next to her.

"Thanks Vergil."

"You're welcome, unfortunately I can't cool your, I'll leave that to you.""

"Awh you know me so well~" Mizore picked it up with the handle and gave a small and gentle blow into the mug, the tea inside flashed blue now completely cooled. She took a sip.

"This tea taste's good, what kind is it?" She asked.

"It's Chai Grey, Earl Grey mixed with Chai tea. I quite like this one." He replied.

"Did you get it from the western part of the human world?" She asks.

Vergil nodded.

"I did. I suppose you've only been to the human world on class trips?"

Mizore nodded.

"Yeah, I've never went anywhere else beyond the few places the school's taken us."

"Vergil, you've been to the other parts of the human world right?"

"I've been several places around the human world yes, but I haven't been everywhere."

"How is humankind?" She asked.

"What makes you ask?"

Mizore sat back into her seat

"Well, ever since I was little, I was taught to fear humans, to hate them for everything they did to monsterkind." She went on.

"But when I found out Tsukune was human, it made me wonder, are all humans as bad as our parents and relatives told us?"

Vergil cupped his chin. It did make sense, the school's purpose was to learn to coexist with humans, but he assumed all monsters wondered at some point how humans really were.

If Vergil was asked this before he got here, he would agree with all the teachings, besides the fear part. He used to hate humanity, the fact he was part human truly used to disgust him. But he was learning beyond that. He did his best to answer the question.

"Well, here's how I see it." A Pause as he thought of the words.

"Humans in the past, around the fifteenth century and even beyond used to hunt and kill monsters because of their fear, the fear that monsters would kill their families and eat them. Some monsters would do that, but that was an entirely different time era and I'm only using what I've learned." A short pause before he continued.

"As for humans. Well, I suppose it really depends on what kind of person that human is. In the world, from what I've seen myself is, that every human is different. Some humans are full of malicious intent which would mean they are a terrible person, while others wouldn't dare to do any harm and just wish to live a simple life."

Vergil explained the best he could, even Vergil himself wasn't sure if he was right. He was just going off of what he saw, or rather, what he saw now when on the topic of humans.

"So in short, I would say it really depends on the person that human is I guess..." He added.

"Yeah, that sounds right." She hummed in thought

"Vergil, would you take me with you to see the human world one day?" Mizore asked.

"Alone, I'd be a little scared. But with you, I won't be afraid.." She gently added.

Vergil was a bit surprised at her request. But he just couldn't say no to her, not while looking through her ice crystal blue eyes.

He gave a slow nod.

"Yes I will."

The answer brought another smile to her face, and seeing Mizore's smile brought his own.

After gazing into her eyes a few extra seconds, Vergil caught a glimpse of the time, he realized it was almost time for the fight.

Mizore saw him look at the clock on the wall, she knew it was almost time.

"I guess we should get going huh?" She asked.

"Yeah, especially now that I know the real Orochi is dead and that this one is an imposter."

"You remember what you said right?" Mizore asks as she rises to her feet.

"Yes, I'll be careful." Vergil answered.

Mizore smiled then slowly walked over to him and pulled him into a gentle embrace, her arms around his neck while his hands were around her hips.

"Go kick his ass for me.." She said softly, still clinging to him.

"I will.." Vergil softly replied as the embrace gently broke.

She put a hand on his cheek then caressed it, her touch was cold but gentle.

"Good.. I'll be right there to cheer you on."

She gave him one more smile then took her hand back.

With their free time over, it was time to expose this fake for who he was. Vergil took his blazer off revealing his sleeveless vest before throwing his blue jacket over it.

He took Yamato off the wall and turned to Mizore.

"Mizore. Can you do me a favor?"

"Hm? Sure what is it?" She asks.

Vergil hands her the Yamato still in it's sheath.

"Your sword? But won't you need this?"

"Yes, but the school thinks it's a test of skill, I can't just bring this."

"You're right, but what can I do with it?" She asks, slightly confused.

"I have a plan, here's what we'll do.." Vergil explained with the remaining time they had left.

Not long after, Vergil left the room with Mizore, Vergil made his way to the Kendo Club room while the snow woman met up with the others in the Newspaper club room. Once they were gathered, the group headed over to the club room.

Arriving at the club room, Vergil opened the door and saw all the students sitting in two rows on their knee's just outside of the mat. They were sitting down like you would at a Martial Arts demonstration or tournament. At the far end stood Orochi with a grin holding a blue wooden sword.

"Glad you could make it demon spawn, now the whole school will witness my victory over you. And it's gonna be sweet like candy."

"Of course I'd make it, if it gives me the chance to beat you and become Captain. I'm sure this club would prefer a suitable person being on top of things." Vergil retorted, to keep the idea that this was a test of skill to the other members and even draw some rivalry while it was much more than that.

His response generated an "oooooooo" from the club members and the students watching which made Orochi angry.

"Well then, let's just see if you can back all of that up." Orochi raised his blue wooden sword and pointed it at Vergil.

Vergil's underclassman Ayumi picked up a strong bambo sword, Vergil needed something and the fight would need to be fair.

"Vergil here!" The redhead called out, tossing the sword to Vergil who turned his head and caught it in his hand.

"Thanks Ayumi." Vergil called back.

"No probs! Now show him what your made of!" She cheered taking a seat with the other students.

Vergil gave a nod then gripped the wooden weapon getting used to the feeling of it. With the sword now comfortable in his hands, Vergil was ready. He stepped forward and so did Orochi. The two walked forward until they were directly in front of each other.

Since Orochi was taking part, Vice Captain Takaya would do the opening.

He raised his hand.

"Blades up!"

On command, Vergil and Orochi lifted their wooden blades up.

"At the ready!"

The two put their wooden swords towards their foreheads.

"Cross!"

Both Vergil and Orochi tapped blades, the clank echoed throughout the toom, but to Vergil, there was something off about the blue wooden sword Orochi was holding. He wasn't sure why, but it seemed like his wooden sword felt a lot more solid than his, he couldn't tell, but he was sure something felt different about it.

But as odd as it was, he had to focus on the fight, if this really was an attempt on his life, then Orochi would most likely try and lead him away from the others and throw him off guard. Vergil wanted to keep them to their orignal plan so he decided to play along, especially since his counter attack was already set in motion, he just needed them to make their move and then it would begin.

"Before anything Vergil, I just want to say that I look forward to this and would appreciate if you fight like it was your final fight." He said with a smile.

"Same to you.." Vergiil answered back

"Three….two..one, Begin!"

Shouted the Vice Captain, and the fight was officially on.

It fight started with Orochi charging forward coming down with a diagonal strike which Vergil stepped back evading and countering with a vertical strike up, Orochi moved his head out of the way and went in for a stabbing strike that was easily pushed aside by Vergil who followed up with a side-step horizontal swipe successfully hitting the Captain in the chest.

That hit was too easy for Vergil to think he was being serious, he was probably trying to lure him away right now, and Orochi's next movements confirmed it.

Vergil and him were back and forth, Wooden sword for wooden sword, each strike was matched since their skill level was even, in terms of normal sword combat anyway, in terms of power, Vergil was stronger. Unfortunately for now, this was a power-free battle and just for skill alone. But when the time was right, he assumed they would be using their powers eventually, as soon as they were away from the audience.

Vergil knew there was something planned, the problem was when they would do it, and how. For now, he kept it simple to further fool them that he had no idea what to expect.

After a few more even strikes, Orochi was hit once in the face and Vergil was struck hard in the leg, Orochi was going for a trip sweep, but Vergil shifted his weight to the side he went down on and side flipped to the right landing on his feet.

It was from there that Orochi's moves started to become predictable which was the first red flag in Vergil's mind.

Orochi jumped back up to his feet then immediately went for a rush and began striking wildly. Vergil evaded each strike with speed. Orochi finished his combination of swings with a forward thrust which Vergil used to his advantage by jumping into the air and landed on Orochi's weapon leaving him shocked, but before he could get a chance to shake Vergil off, the half-devil kicked Orochi square in the face seneding him back down on his side of the mat. Vergil rebounded into a backflip after the strike and as he landed back on his feet he noticed something very crucial, Orochi's shadow was gone and Orochi stared at him with a grin, he knew Vergil saw.

But before any words could be exchanged, Vergil picked up on another energy, and it was powerful. There was no chance to prepare and seemingly out of nowhere, a figure appeared.

"Black Angel Dust"

Said a dark voice above, and immediately after that, it started raining what looked like black sand, it was aimed at audience and not long after, every member of the audience as well as everyone in the school including the teachers passed out.

Vergil looked up, the person above wasn't showing his full appearance. There was some kind of dark colored energy cloaking him, all Vergil could see was that he had long hair and piercing red eyes, the same red eyes he had saw many weeks ago after school hours outside. Despite this, he remembered Mizore's report, and because of that, Vergil already knew who it was.

"Ah Rataichi, I was wondering when you would show yourself.." Spoke Vergil.

"Unfortunately, this is only an Illusion of myself. As much as I'd like to end you, I'll let him do it." The demon lord continued.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be taking this." Rataichi pulled out the Yamato and held it up.

"The Yamato! But how!?" Vergil was shocked, he kept his room locked at all times, he even used a magic lock which would only allow him to open the door. It didn't make sense.

"Remember how you saw my shadow gone? Well my shadow has the ability to become a clone of me and can travel through anything, like a room for example, if there's no light on, he can easily access it. Pretty great huh?" Orochi explained.

"Damn you!"

Before Vergil could jump up, Orochi dashed towards him going for a strike with the wooden sword. Vergil blocked, but unsurprisingly, Orochi's weapon broke Vergil's bambo sword in half and was kicked in the chest by Orochi, only this time, Orochi's strength was much more powerful, the strike sent Vergil back through the club room wall.

"Farewell Vergil. I'll make good use out of this." With that, the Illusion of Rataichi disappeared.

"Come on Son of Sparda, I know you can do better than that!" Orochi taunted, believing he had the upper hand now that the Yamato was gone. But he had no Idea.

Vergil could tell Rataichi was gone, he couldn't pick up his energy anymore.

"Actually, you're right. I can do better, much better." Vergil replied walking inside through the hole in the wall.

"I also know that you're a terrible actor for a demon.." He added.

"What!? What do you mean?" The 'Captain' asked.

"It's simple,. I can see right through you."

The fake Orochi laughed.

"I guess there's just no fooling you huh? Oh well."

The fake pulled at the corner of his head and peeled off the human skin like it was a banana peel.

Once the skin hit the ground, all that was left was a man with pale skin, medium-length wavy grey hair. He was wearing a jacket with human skulls on the belt and ripped up combat pants. He looked human but the dead giveaway was his unusually sharp teeth and the glowing red eyes.

Despite shedding his fake skin, he still had the blue sword, but the sword quickly changed from wood into steel and took the form of an actual sword, each edge of the blade became jagged. The first thing Vergil noticed was the three empty holes along the blade handle, from there he realized what weapon it was. Vergil had only heard about in legends. But he would have to act clueless in order for his plan to stay in action.

"A thrill to officially meet you. I'm the Jackal. I can wear the skin of any person and assume their identity. And the best part is, whoever I kill, I also get to keep their powers and talents." The Jackal laughed.

"Because of my wonderful ability, I've had the pleasure of working as Lord Mundus's spy during the war. I killed many for him." The Jackal explained.

"The Jackal? But my father killed you along with his other legions!" Vergil was surprised, he knew it was some kind of shapeshifter, but he never suspected the Jackal.

"Oh he did, it was painful too. The old bastard really slaughtered me, but what he didn't know is that I can keep coming back. I just possessed a human soldier and BANG here I am! With all my acquired abilities too."

{"I should get an idea of his attacks before I use my full power..")

"Then, I suppose I'll have to finish what my father started."

"Really? And how do you plan to do that with no weapon?" Jackal sneered.

Vergil smirked "Actually, I do have one."

"Mizore!" He called out leaving Jackal confused.

"Huh?"

Suddenly, an ice dome outside disappeared revealing Mizore and the others.

"Vergil here!" She shouted back sending a long ice projectile at Vergil who held his hand out and caught it, the ice breaking as soon as he gripped it revealing the real Yamato much to Jackals shock.

"What?! But how? My clone grabbed it, I was even able to sense it's power!" Jackal was appalled.

"I knew you would try and take my Yamato, without my main weapon I'd be at a disadvantage, not to mention Rataichi targeting it."

"Ooooo looks like the Devil-Boy is more cleaver than we thought. But it doesn't matter!"

Jackal raised his blade.

"Yamato or not, you'll face the power of the Divinity Blade!"

"Let's see if you're truly worthy enough to wield a blade of such power." Vergil commented pressing his blade up from the scabbard.

Jackal ran his hand down along the base of the blade causing it to glow.

"Divinity Blade: Flame Sword Mode!"

The blade began to glow bright orange and in a burst of flames, the swords blade became engulfed in fire and Jackal went in for a strike, swinging his flame sword several times, each time Vergil would cross blades with him, both going in for the kill clashing steel for steel. Vergil continued to strike he swings eventually managing to parry it to the side once allowing himself to get four good blade slashes in. Jackal groaned in pain but went right back in.

Jackal was desperately trying to get at Vergil, swinging his blade wild and aggressively. There were moments where it seemed like he would land a hit on Vergil, only to be quickly parried to the side with the blade scabbard letting Vergil get more critical slashes on him spilling his blood every time.

Several attempts were made at hitting Vergil but always failed making Jackal take more hits. He was starting to slow down now and desperation finally kicked in fully.

"Your moves grow slower, face it, you're finished Jackal."

"I'm not done yet, I can't fail him. Not again!" Jackal exclaimed, using one last trick up his sleeve.

"Gale Force Mode!" He shouted, the blade shined green and a mini green cyclone surrounded the Divinity Blade, he pointed the blade up and the wind increased dramatically as he took flight rising up.

The strong gusts got so strong that the wind was beginning to make moving difficult for Vergil.

"Shit! This wind is super strong!" Mizore exclaimed, the wind was increasing each second and was nearly blowing Mizore and the others off their feet, but they managed to stand their ground.

"Mizore! Put another ice dome around you and the others, I'll be fine!" Vergil called out to her while maintaining his balance.

She was still worried, but she knew when to put her faith in Vergil, especially times as crucial as this, so she wouldn't argue.

"Okay! But be careful!" She shouted back.

Right away, Mizore did as he said. Now that his friends were safe from the winds, it was all up to him to finish this.

Timing had been perfect, as soon as the ice dome was produced the whirlwind sickles ripped towards them cutting a few chunks of ice off the dome that surrounded them, thankfully the dome remained intact keeping the group safe as the winds sliced a tree near them in several pieces.

Vergil conjured several Phantom blades and sent them at Jackal, but a large cyclone surrounded him which broke the blue swords in pieces. The wind was just too much for his projectiles.

Jackal waved his blade and a super strong gust blew Vergil back, the gales of the wind cutting him with whirlwind sickles in several places.

"Nghh! Urghh!"

The gust then lifted him up and shot him back down unleashing another series of Whirlwind sickles on him cutting him up some more in other places. Vergil hit the ground but got right back up fighting the pain. The wind was just too much, there was only once chance he had to turn the tables on Jackal. But he needed to wait for the right moment.

In the previous attack, Vergil noticed there was about a two second pause before the winds could shift and send him back down. Whenever the gale of wind changed direction, there was always a two second break, the speed of the wind cycle just made it seem like there was no opening. But Vergil found it.

That would be his chance, two seconds wasn't much, but it was all he needed to land one critical hit.

"Now you die!" Jackal summoned another powerful gust that again picked Vergil up, only this time he pulled him towards him. Jackal intended to pull Vergil in close to finish him off with a barrage of deadly sickles that would dice him up bad, but that little blind spot would be Jackal's end.

As Vergil ascended up with the winds, he used this moment to conjure up and channel a very large amount of demonic energy into his blade. Once he was fully airborne, with his Yamato Scabbard glowed a dark purple and sparked with purple energy.

He watched carefully waiting for his chance, and once he saw the opening, he went for it and quickly unsheathed before the blink of an eye and unleashed a very powerful Judgement Cut,. Sending a large myrad of demonically charged slashes that were damaging cutting several slashes into the fabric of time and space easily passing through the wind walls opening.

A loud pained groan came from The Jackal as he felt several lacerations cut him up in varies vital places on his body. Immediately the winds power died down before disappearing completely.

Jackal hit the ground landing hard on his back with a pool of his own blood from the wounds that were still rapidly bleeding slowly making the pool of blood bigger under him.

The Divinity Blade falling right beside him. But before he could even try to reach for it. Vergil came down landing on top of him digging the Yamato blade right through his chest on impact.

Jackal coughed up blood a large amount of blood adding to his pool.

"H-How!?"

"I expected you to try and take Yamato, so I had someone special do me a favor and make an identical copy."

"But…I felt the power inside it!"

"I had to make it somewhat convincing. So I channeled some of my energy into it so it would give off a smaller but similar aura." Vergil explained.

"Urk…"

"Any last words?" Vergil asked.

"You…may have killed me, but… you won't kill Rataichi..he's much more..powerful.." Jackal cough up more blood.

"I guess you didn't have any…" Vergil clicked his blade back in and Jackal stopped breathing.

With the imposter dead and the fight over, Mizore released the ice dome and slowly walked over to Vergil and the others not far behind her.

"Vergil you did it!"

"No I didn't, we did." Vergil corrected, the change bringing a smile to her face.

"Vergil! Mizore told us what she found out while we were in there, I can't believe this guy took Orochi's identity." Moka commented.

"Yeah, to think he was this Jackal guy after all.." Tsukune added.

Just then, Vergil's smile faded as he remembered what Jackal could do, right on cue, Vergil saw a grey colored spirit circling them.

"Everyone watch out! Jackal can possess someone and take control!" He warned.

The girls quickly moved back.

"Huh?" Tsukune was a little slower since he thought the coast was clear, in about a second, Vergil caught a glimpse of the grey spirit heading directly for his human friend, thinking fast, Vergil unleashed another Judgement Cut which clipped a good portion of the soul but it still managed to get inside Tsukune.

"Grurk!" Tsukune gripped his chest and fell to one knee.

"Tsukune!" Moka and the girls shouted.

Suddenly Jackal's voice spoke through Tsukune.

"Damn you Vergil.. you still managed to get me, I can't keep control..but I can still….."

"Never mind Tsukune! You're quarrel is with me!" Vergil exclaimed. Jackal's voice said two more words.

"..Soul Explosion!"

"No!" Vergil cursed.

And right on cue, a large welt appeared on Tsukune's chest and bursts open creating a deep gash on his chest, he coughed out blood and fell to the ground.

"TSUKUNE!" The girls cried out in horror.

As Tsukune hit the ground his friends quickly rushed to his aid.

"Moka…everyone.." Tsukune coughed out more blood.

"No!" Tears began to well up in Moka and Yukari's eyes.

"No it can't end like this!" Kurumu cried.

"There has to be something we can do!" Yukari exclaimed, her voice shaky.

"Tsukune's life force is fading quickly, we have tp think fast!" Vergil warned.

Thinking fats out of desperation, Moka took Tsukune's hand and made him pull of her Rosary and inner Moka took over.

"Vergil go wake up the nurse! I'll tend to Tsukune!" Inner Moka ordered.

"Right!" Vergil immediately went to do that, he was back in about a second and returned to see inner Moka transferring more of her blood to him.

("Come on Tsukune, you've taken my blood before, let it help you. Live!")) Thought inner Moka, she never liked to show much, but when it came to Tsukune, Vergil knew both Moka's felt the same.

After about fifteen minutes of the transfer, the bleeding stopped but Tsukune passed out from blood loss and was rushed to the infirmary for urgent care.

"Will he… make it?" Kurumu nervously asked.

"He will won't he Moka?" Yukari asked, tears in her eyes.

"His life light was gone.. but I felt it return after I finished." She answered.

The silver-haired Moka stood up, but suddenly found herself losing balance. After taking one step, she felt her right leg give out and she fell, but was quickly caught by Vergil just before she hit the ground.

"Moka, you okay?"

She looked up at him with her blood red eyes.

"Y-Yeah I'm fine, it just took a lot more blood than last time.."

She slowly regained her balance then pulled out her Rosary from her blazer pocket.

"Anyway, Tsukune should make it, he's in their care now." She added.

She glanced over at her friends.

"Once I put my rosary back on I'll be really tired. So as stubborn as the other me is, make sure she gets plenty of rest tonight once we find out how he's doing, or the both of us will be weak in the morning"

"Will do." Vergil replied.

As Moka clipped the rosary, her silver hair faded and returned to pink,. Her eyes green and her features reverted to inner Moka's. She fell back and Mizore caught her this time.

"Vergil, Jackal is dead right?" Mizore asked.

"Yes, he used a move that sacrificed himself in a last effort. I don't sense his energy any more so he's gone."

"Thank goodness, demons can be pretty scary.." Yukari added.

But then she remembered Vergil was a demon too and the little witch blushed forgetting that.

"-B-But not you Vergil, you're not scary, I—um-I didn't mean—"

Vergil gave her a few headpats.

"Don't worry Yukari. I take that as a compliment actually." He replied reassuringly.

"Y-You do? Oh well, okay then.. eheh.." She was a little embarrassed, but glad she didn't offend him.

The group waited in the lobby to hear an update. After waiting around for an hour, the group was given the long awaited update.

Thankfully, Tsukune was stitched up and moved from critical condition, to stable. A huge relief. But he would remain bedridden for about three to four days to fully recover.

With their friend in safe hands and stable. The group was told to go get some sleep. Everyone went to their dorms besides Vergil, Mizore and Moka who were now standing out in the courtyard.

" Are you going to be okay Moka?" Asked Mizore.

She gave a slow nod.

"I'm worried, but I'm glad he's alive.."

"Moka I'm sorry.." Said Vergil.

"Why are you apologizing?" She asks.

"I knew Jackal could possess people, I should have remembered…but I was too busy taking up the moment of my victory…so again, I'm sorry."

She shook her head.

"N-No you don't need to apologize. It isn't your fault, we should have been more cautious so please, don't blame yourself okay?" Moka gave Vergil a friendly hug to which Mizore just smiled, if it was someone else. Mizore would definitely be jealous. But she wasn't here since she knew Vergil and Moka were friends.

"It'll be okay." She said softly before pulling back.

"Well, if you say so."

Moka took a deep breath then smiled.

"I'll be fine, and so will Tsukune okay?"

Vergil nodded.

"You're right. Thanks."

"She gave one last smile and then Mizore and Moka shared a hug before pulling away.

"Goodnight you two. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Goodnight Moka." Mizore replied.

"Night Moka.." Vergil added, the couple waved at their friend as she entered the girls dorm.

Now it was just Mizore and Vergil.

"Crazy day huh?" Mizore spoke.

"That's one way to put it.."

"So Vergil, what are you going to do with that sword?" She asked.

"The Divinity Blade?" Vergil asked, to which Mizore nodded.

"I'll probably keep it, so I can study it. Rataichi will be back for this. I have to find a way to seal its power. I cannot let him get his hands on this blade, he'll understand it a lot more than Jackal ever did."

"You should hide it for now, put it away somewhere where no one can find it and only you can." Mizore suggested.

"Good idea, I'll think of a place tomorrow. It's been a long night…"

"You could say that again."

Mizore gave Vergil a warm gentle hug.

"Goodnight Verg.." She said softly as she still clung to him.

"Goodnight Mizore." He softly replied.

The hug finally broke and the two exchanged smiles before Mizore and Vergil returned to their dorm rooms.

Back in his room now in comfy clothes, Vergil laid on his bed holding the Divinity Blade looking it over. Right now, it looked like a normal Katana with the exception of the three empty holes in the handle.

"Divinity Blade huh? I wonder what secrets you hold.." He looked it over for a few more minutes before putting it down under his bed.

He turned off his lamp and rolled over to fall asleep.

-End Of Chapter-

Hey guys! It took longer than I wanted, but 15 is finally here. As always, this one is a bit longer than the last, but I put lots of work into this one. I wanna say one more thing. i've seen quite a few reviews saying I nerfed Vergil and I wanna make it clear. I have no intention of nerfing him. I'm very aware of how powerful he is and intend to show it. But only on the right chapter. If I made Vergil too OP'd in every chapter, there would be no room for story development. And I personally like to build things up for a finale. Just wanted to clear that up.

But thats all for me here. Thanks for the continued patience and interest in this story as well as my others. I cannot thank you all enough. I've already begun the next chapter and hope to have that one out sooner than this one took.

Happy Reading!
