On a Thursday afternoon in Downtown city, it was raining and Minka was waiting for the bus to get home, soaking wet.
"We did it have to have to rain today? Why not tomorrow or maybe next week? Why now?" She thought.
"Minka? Is that you?" Said a familiar voice.
Minka turned her head and saw her best friend, Russell, under his umbrella. "Oh, hi Russell, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"I was on my way home until I saw you here." He said.
"Oh, well, I'm on my way home too but my house is far away, I have to take to take the bus." She said.
"Hey, if you want, you can walk with me to my house, dry off and wait there until the rain stops. That way you won't have to go home all wet. I'm sure your parents won't mind." He said.
"They wouldn't mind at all, thanks Russell." She said with a smile.
"No problem Minka." Russell said.
He took off his jacket and put it around her shoulders to keep her warm. Then shared his umbrella and walked all the way to Russell's house. Russell unlocked the door and stepped inside.
"Wow, you're house is really pretty." Minka said.
"Thanks, I also live with my parents and older sister, but they're not back from work yet. And my sister's in her room." Russell said.
"Cool." She said.
"Okay so, the bathroom's down the hall to your left. You can dry off in there." He said.
"Right, and thanks again for letting me stay here Russell." She said.
"Anytime Minka." He said.
She walked down the hall and opened the door on her left.
"AAAAAHH!" Russell's older sister screamed out.
Minka closed the door and said, "I don't think THAT'S the bathroom."
"Oh right, that's my sister's room. Yeah, the bathroom's on your right, Sorry." He said and smiled nervously.
Minka rolled her eyes in amusement, opened the door and walked inside.
"Nice going Ferguson, way to mess up in front of your best friend. You invite her to your home and make her open the door to your sister's room. And you thought you knew where the bathroom was." Russell said to himself.
After ten minutes of waiting, Minka got out of the bathroom looking dry and pretty.
"Russell, I'm all dry." She said.
"Great, also, I called your parents telling them where you are." He said.
"Russell, have I ever told how much of a great friend you are?" She asked.
"Well, yeah when you had no money for lunch." He said.
"Well, I'm telling you again because it is true." She said.
"How so?" He asked.
"Because you're sweet and kind and honest and you're always there for me." She said.
Russell blushed a little and said, "Uhhh, t-thanks...and so are you to me."
"Awww, thanks." She said then hugged him.
Russell smiled and hugged her back. She letted go of him then they stared into each other and shared a sweet kiss. Their eyes widen and they broke the kiss.
"Whoa, what was that?" Minka asked.
"We...kissed." Russell said.
"Wow, that happened quickly. But why did we do it?" She asked.
"I think it's because we actually...love each other." He said.
"You...love me?" She asked.
"Well...I uhhh...yes." He said while blushing.
"Oh Russell...I love you too." Minka said.
Russell smiled cutely, wrapped his arms around her and kissed her again. She smiled and kissed him back.
