I don't own Batman or any characters from that!

Yes, hello. I am back. That can be blamed on Hallow Thorn and FlyAwayGirl113. Unless you enjoyed it of course and then I definitely didn't forget I was writing this story.

So enjoy!

The MI managed to hide their excitement about being in the cave again. Just long enough to get them all sat around a board table without them doing something childish.

"I think it's safe to say that Luthor is behind this." Shade said.

"We have one advantage over Luthor that he doesn't have." Batman said, bring up a picture on the screen.

The teenagers all studied the picture. It had been taken at an awards ceremony and showed a bald man surrounded by other rich people. The other rich people had had their faces distorted, however, to make it easier for the MI to tell who it was.

"We're young?" Dusk suggested, attempting to guess the advantage.

"We're not boring?" Ace tried.

"We all have full heads of hair?" Shift giggled. "I have too much hair. He can have some of mine if he's so angry about it. It might stop him from being so moody."

"It is our sheer numbers. There are more than one of us." Batman said.

"We could always shave your head and give him your hair. You wear a cowl, no one would notice." Shift pointed out with a smirk.

"And I could shape shift into you and pretend to be Bruce Wayne until your hair grows back." Mask suggested, as if the plan was going to go ahead. "I wouldn't mind living life as a millionaire."

"Billionaire." Robin corrected.

"Same difference." Mask said.

"Not really." Robin pointed out.

"Back to business." Batman said, sensing a fight was about to break out. "We can fight Luthor with our sheer numbers."

Suddenly the screen began to jump and flicker. Everyone looked at Dusk who frowned and tried to control her powers again.

"Sorry." she said.

"Wait!" Shade called. "Stay on that program."

Dusk concentrated and CCTV footage showed up. It was footage of several people getting dragged into vans.

"What's going on there?" Warrior asked.

"I believe a kidnapping or..."

"That's happening now, right? Where?"

"I'll bring up the co-ordinates." Batman said.

Once they were on screen, he turned to the teenagers.

"Get out there and protect them." Batman said. "And expect the unexpected, we never know what Luthor might try to pull."

All of the teenagers darted off apart from Ace who looked at Batman with a frown.

"Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected? And if so, what's the point of expecting the unexpected when you're just making it expected?" she asked and then raced off with the other teenagers.

Batman paused for a few seconds to think it over and then gave up and ran off to join them.

.

It was Warrior who noticed it first.

"They're all metas." Warrior hissed as the group raced forwards.

"What?"

"Everyone he's rounding up are metas."

Shade looked at his team. He began to give orders. Batman watched as Shade took control of his team and got them into positions. Shift teleported herself, Warrior and Robin to the other side of the road and onto the roof of the van. She hadn't meant to teleport Robin. He had just brushed against her. Batgirl turned back to Batman.
"Shouldn't we just attack?"

"We've got some more!" one of the men called.

The group looked towards the van as the men pointing their guns at Shift, Warrior and Robin.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Shade hissed.

"Go! Go! Go!" Mask shouted.

They ran out. And the others leapt off the van. Well, Shift teleported off of the van and ended up in mid air above one of the men who were rounding up metas.

"Shift, get them out of here!" Batman ordered, pointing at a group of panicking metas.

When Shift moved towards them, they backed away.

"No, you've got to let me touch you!" Shift shouted.

She needed to touch them or she couldn't teleport them to somewhere safer.

"ACE!" Shade shouted.

He put a mental barrier around her, to protect her from any blows aimed towards her.

"Get them to stand still."

"I can do better than that." Ace said, getting control of the panicking metas.

The formed a circle and Shift smiled, managing to hold them.

"Take them somewhere nice. There's a nice pizza place on the other side of Gotham." Robin smirked.

"Lets check that out." Shift said and teleported away.

The guards, realising that they had no reason to fight, gave up.

"Their uniforms. They're working for Luthor." Batgirl pointed out.

"Yes, they are." Shade agreed.

Dusk moved towards the van and leant against it. Suddenly the radio went up.

"I'm sorry." Dusk gasped as Mask turned the radio off.

Suddenly Shift teleported back. She was holding a box full of pizza and smiled.

"Anyone for pizza?"

.

"What would Luthor want with metas?" Robin asked, rushing around the team.

They had returned to the Batcave after a quick patrol of the area.

"I'm not sure." Shade admitted. "Most likely their powers."

"So, our job is to fight back, to stop them from getting captured, right?" Mask asked.

"No." Dusk said. "It's obvious what our job is, it's to stop this city from falling down around us. There's still the escapes criminals and the police to find and..."

"There's a lot to do." Batman said, grimly.

"There's a lot of us." Shift pointed out. "We could split the work."

"Like what?" Ace asked.

"I don't know."

"There are three ways we can attack." Warrior said calmly. "Infiltrate, protect and capture."

"Explain." Mask requested.

"A group could infiltrate Luthor's base as metas and free anyone he has already captured. Another group could protect the free metas and a final group could work on capturing the criminals."

"Sounds like a plain." Batgirl smirked.

"One thing through. We'll need to get into groups."

That when Batman took charge.

"Each group will have someone from Gotham in simply because they know the location. In the infiltration group there will be: Robin, Ace and Shift. In the protecting group there will be: Mask, Dusk and Batgirl. Finally, in the capturing group there will be: Me, Warrior and Shade. Any questions?"
