The Doctor returns to his T.A.R.D.I.S. from investigating what appears to be a parallel universe when he is met with a familiar face.

"Now, I can honestly say," squeaked the Tenth Doctor as he backed into the wall, "that this is not what I intended."

The room was doused in shadow albeit a small window, and darkness showered the Timelord's view of his pursuer's face. A brief memory of certain beasts that prey in the darkness flicked across the Doctor's mind as he felt along the wall blindly. Where was his T.A.R.D.I.S.? This was the last time he used invisability cloaking.

"Look." The Doctor swallowed and planted his feet into the ground. "This - landing here - really was a mistake, I honestly dunno whatsoever at all where I am. I'm sorry, really, so sorry, don't wanna cause any trouble, so if I could just locate my... Vehicle I'll be -"

He froze as the stranger stepped into the light.

The alarmingly familiar man yielded a thin stick. He flicked his tongue out maniacally before jabbing the wand towards the Doctor.

"Now you see me," the stranger snarled.

"What?!" The Doctor frowned and reached into his coat slowly, pulling his sonic out and mirroring the man's position. "Who are you - what - where is this?"

A wand? So much like... But it couldn't be. He scanned the other before extending the screwdriver, skimming over its readings.

The man jumped back at the sound, his tongue flicking out again, a freakish glint in his eyes. "What is that? What have you got there?"

The Doctor slowly looked up from the readings, stunned. "Oh. Well, this is... Oh."

"Oh?"

"Ah! It's... No, it can't be. But it is. It's you! You're Barty Crouch Junior! You are, aren't you?" Who knew the T.A.R.D.I.S. was capable of traveling to not only parallel, but fictional universes?

The son of Bartemius Crouch blinked, then nodded carefully. "What do you want?"

"Oh, ohohoho," the Doctor laughed. "This is brilliant. Really, truly. Huge fan, I am of you, really, just, just a huge fan."

Silence.

"Funny," he continued, cocking his head to the side, "hadn't imagined you to be quite as... Handsome."

"We share a face."

"Awh, yeah, that'd be it. I love this face. Good face. Rose likes it, too, I'd say." The Timelord clicked his tongue awkwardly before strolling away from the corner as Barty eyed him, perplexed. "So, this must be the Potterverse, then. Good. Brilliant. Now, if I could just -"

"-Avada Ked-"

"-oh, no, you don't," Ten interjected calmly, flicking the wizard's wand away with a buzz of his sonic. "Now that's rather rude, isn't it?"

"What are you?" Barty Crouch Junior's tongue darted about his mouth for a moment, before he turn and sprinted -

- into an invisible wall. He immediately dropped to the floor, out stone cold.

"Hm," the Doctor frowned down at what could've been his twin. "That's unfortunate. Thanks, though, for locating my T.A.R.D.I.S."

He prodded the wizard a bit with his foot, hoping he'd be alright. Even though he was, sort of, evil.

Then, stepping carefully over the unconscious body, the Doctor pushed open the doors to his box and stepped in with a smile.

He shut the door and leaned against the wall for a moment, before bursting into laughter. "HA!"

Rose appeared from around the corner. "Doctor? What's so funny?"

The Doctor shot his companion a toothy grin. "I believe I just met Barty Crouch Jr. And guess what? He's me!"

"He's you?"

"He's me! Well, looks like me. Same face, and everything. Bit of a strange oral condition he's got. That certainly wasn't in the book."

"Well, you know, Harry," Rose giggled. "Terrible things happen to wizards who meddle with time."
