Hello everyone! This is The Masked Romantic (Or KagomeInuyasha92 as I was once recently called) Miss me? I'm sorry if you did I have been terribly busy and have not had the time to write at all, let alone type what I already have written.

Chapter three:

That next morning Erik was the first to wake, feeling his sleeping wife snuggle up closer to him in her sleep.

Never in his life had he ever felt so whole, so complete, most of all he's never felt so loved. As he did now being married to Christine, the love of his life.

The thought made him smile, as he now knew, that he would always feel this way from here on out. Gently he bend his head down and gave her a soft kiss on the head.

"I love you, my sweet Christine, with all my heart." In a voice barely above a whisper, hoping not to wake her. His plan failed for he did indeed wake her.

"I love you too, my Erik and my husband" Christine said back in a sleepy voice as she sat up a bit to look at him.

Just her saying that sent him straight to the heavens, he loved it, but yet did not feel worthy of it. To her though he was worth it and more, the fact that she did was enough to make his heart soar.

"I'm sorry love, for waking you, I didn't mean too" Erik said as he begun to caress her hair. Christine leaned in giving him a good morning kiss while caressing his cheek.

"Don't be sorry Angel, I'll be happy to wake up like this every morning with you." She said with a sweet smile.

Erik gave a devilish grin and rolled on top of her. "We can Christine for the rest of our lives." He said while leaning in for another one of her sweet passionate kisses, "I promise" he breathed onto her lips just before closing the small gap that separated them. Letting last night repeat itself.

"Erik I'm fine, really it's just a little stomach virus." Christine protested while hugging her beloved.

"One that has lasted nearly three weeks? I doubt it. Christine, darling you need to see a doctor...for me? Please?"

She could see the worry that lied in his eyes, standing up on her tiptoes she kissed him passionately, melting away some of his worry.

"I would do anything for you Angel, I'll go." Christine said sweetly while brushing her fingers through his blonde hair.

"Thank you my love."

She did as promised and went to the local doctor, returning a couple hours later. Erik was preparing dinner when she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"There you are, I know those arms any where" Erik teased as he turned in her embraced and locked her in his.

"Well I hope my arms are the only ones going around you like that" Christine said with a giggle, knowing he was hers and hers alone. Erik could tell she was just teasing him right back.

"I am sorry it took so long, a lot of people were there today."

"Don't be my love, now what did the doctor say."

"Well I'm not sick at all Erik...I'm pregnant." She replied with the happiest of grins on her face.

Erik on the other hand was in shock "A baby?"

"Yes oh my love we are going to be parents!" She said practically jumping up and down for joy. "Are you happy?" Her smile had faded when seeing the look on his face.

"Christine...this is a wonderful gift you are giving to me...yes I am happy, very happy and I promise you that I will be the best father I can be. I never dared dreamed that I ever would be...But...oh Christine, what if..." Erik tried his best to finish the sentence, but he couldn't.

Christine could easily see this and went to comfort her husband, rubbing his back she said "If what, my love?"

Erik laid his head on her shoulder, holding her closer, "What if our child bears my face? This horrid curse?"

"If our child comes with your deformity then he or she do, that wont change anything for me. Would it change anything for you?"

"No of course not...I just don't want our children to grow up like I did."

Christine smiled, "Erik darling, look at me...I understand what you mean, and how you feel. But, I know that neither you or I would allow that to happen. Our children will be as loved and cared for as any other child."

"Thank you Christine, I trust you..." Erik said giving an honest smile then.

"Good, I can't wait Angel! The suspense is just killing me."

"It better not be, I will not lose you to suspense!"

"Oh so you would rather lose me to something else?" Christine teased.

Erik narrowed his eyes at her, and instead of answering he responded by kissing her madly. Like a man that was starving for her kiss.

Christine's belly was so huge it entered the room before she could. The poor girl looked like she could fall over at any minute. That could have been because of how thin she was to begin with, it was hard to tell.

Erik was constantly worrying and stressing over her. One day he couldn't take it any longer and grounded her to bed rest.

"Erik I'm fine, really I do not need to stay in bed." Christine said as she attempted to get up but Erik placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Christine you are staying in this bed and if not on this bed, I will carry you to where you want to go. If you were to fall it could possibly hurt you and our baby."

"Erik you're just over reacting, everything is fine." Christine tried reasoning with him.

"Maybe I am, but what if I'm not Christine?" Erik came back.

Christine gave a sigh, she didn't want to cause her husband any more worry. "Alright I'll stay and I'll let you carry me. But with how big I am, wouldn't it hurt you to carry me?"

"I doubt it, Christine...Here let me try" He said while bending down to pick her up, "You are indeed heavier than before but alas no" shaking his head lightly. "You are still light enough to be carried by me." he said with a winning grin and a teasing tone. She gently shook her head and giggled happily.

"Erik?"

"Yes, Christine?"

"Will you sing for us?"

"What would you like to hear?" He asked genuinely curious.

"Something that you wrote" Christine replied repeating her words from not so long ago, nearly with the same expression on her face.

Erik let out a whole hearted laugh. "Well I do believe this time I am going to be the one helping you to my organ."

Christine couldn't help but join him in laughter, as he walked her to the organ and placed her on the seat. Sitting himself down he began to play and sing Music of the Night, which had become her favorite song for him to play.

"Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation Darkness stirs and wakes imagination Silently the senses abandon their defenses

Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender Turn your face away from the garish light of day Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light And listen to the music of the night

Close you eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams Purge your thoughts of the life you knew before Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar..."

Christine just then had let out a gasp and lunged forward, Erik immediately stopped the music.

Wrapping her in his arms "Christine..." Erik said in a panic worried about his wife and unborn child.

She tried to smile for him, "I'm alright Erik, that one just hurt...badly" Erik not understanding what she meant, gave her a confused look. Taking his hand she placed it upon her swollen stomach. "When you sang that last note, that baby kicked me harder than ever. I can already tell that it's a boy...he already has his fathers strength." Christine finished looking into Erik's eyes.

"I think you to be correct" Erik said while letting Christine loose, bending over he was now face to face with her stomach. Gently he placed both hands upon it and smiled. "Already taking after me are you? I'm glad you have such strength my son, that will come in handy in your future. Although you must be kind to your mother, do you hear me?" He said in a gentle fatherly like tone.

That sight was enough to bring Christine to tears, she was so happy; they were both so happy. Their happiness would only increase once their son was born. She was one hundred percent sure that the baby was a boy now.

XXXX One month later XXXX

Christine was sitting up in the bed, waiting for Erik to return. She couldn't wait to use her own two feet again. Technically she still could but Erik would have none of that.

Christine couldn't help but have mixed emotions when it came to this. She was both irritated and happy.

Irritated because she's never liked staying in one place for too long, sitting in bed all day or unless Erik carried her was driving Christine insane, and that was putting it lightly. Of course she loved the feeling of her Erik holding her and carrying her, but she also loved the feeling of using her own two legs once in a while.

She couldn't be mad at Erik though for it. He was only looking out for her and their baby, the man cared so much. Seeing this made her heart melt, she didn't have to see it, she knew Erik had a big heart. When her husband was happy so was she, and if her doing this simple thing for Erik made him so. Then so be it.

Christine knew that he would make a great...

She wasn't able to finish the thought, for a huge amount of pain came rushing over like a ton of bricks. Her legs were soaked and she instantly knew what happened.

Trying to push the pain aside for a moment and taking a deep breath she called out, "Erik!" as loud as she could. To make sure he would hear and know it was important.

Within seconds he was there by her side, worry and concern written all over his face. "What's wrong?"

Christine could barely talk, she just wanted to scream. Trying her best to hold the urge down, so she wouldn't worry Erik further she replied. "M...my water...just...just...broke..." Her breathing becoming more and more labored by the second, she tried to calm down but just couldn't.

Erik hushed her sweetly as he brought a hand up to cup her cheek. "I'm here my Christine, go ahead and scream if it makes you feel better. Try and think happily my dear"

Through all the pain she was feeling, somehow, someway she was able to smile. Just having him there and hearing his voice made her happy.

"I love you so much Christine, just think soon we will be parents." Erik continued as he gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"I can't wait..." Christine breathed out

"I must go now, I need to get help so this baby can be born" With that said Erik placed his mask on and was off to the only person he trusted to help.

Erik walked up to the door, gently knocking on it.

"Come in" Madame Giry answered from inside. When Erik entered the room he noticed her sitting on a chair reading a book.

"Erik you're pale, what on earth is wrong?" Madame Giry stated as she placed her book down and forgetting about it.

"It's Christine she's gone into labor and I need your help, Madame" Erik replied trying to sound as sane as possible, even though his mind was running faster then the best of horses.

"Erik think rationally about this will you? Do I look like a doctor or a midwife to you? I cannot deliver a child" She tried reasoning with him.

"When have you known me not to think rationally?" He said while placing his hand upon his chest, gesturing to himself. Before he thought about it and quickly added "Wait don't answer that."

Taking a deep breath he continued "You are the only one I can trust to deliver my child Madame, what if he comes out looking like me?" As if to make his point he ripped off his mask, " Someone else would surely drop him, which would more than likely kill my son" At this point he was in tears, "and then they would scream and run as fast as they could."

She understood where he was coming from, even to this day it was hard for her to look upon Erik without his mask. No longer did it frighten her but she couldn't help but admit that it did disgust her.

Sensing her discomfort he re applied the mask on his face. "Please you've done so much for me, I know it is not right to ask of more from you...I need your help, please for Christine and my baby?" Erik begged her.

Madame Giry left out a breath of air she didn't realize she was holding. "Erik never mind about how much I've done, I'll always help you if I can. Although with this situation I don't know how too and I'd be afraid of doing more harm than good."

"Surly you must have read about these situations in at least one of the million books you own."

She shook her head, implying no she hadn't. "Look I'll try for you, I haven't read about it but I do remember what the midwife did during Megs birth. We need to get back and fast" She replied nervously.

On the way Madame Giry silently prayed 'Please God, let me be able to do this. Let me be able to help them.'

Christine laid in the bed covered in nothing but sweat, she looked as if to have just come out of a bath. Tossing and turning, her hands gripped the soft sheets beneath her for dear life, her eyes were tightly squeezed shut. What broke Erik's heart worst of all though was to see his beloved laying there crying out in pain, knowing he cant do much if anything to help her.

Erik went to her side, wiped the sweat from her forehead. "Angel, I'm back I brought Madame Giry with me. She's going to help you, alright?" He said to her in a very gentle voice.

Christine opened her eyes and gave a nod, "I...need...you" she cried over and over, as she took hold of his hand in hers.

As Erik was trying to sooth Christine, Madame Giry ran off to go get towels, blankets, and a tub of water to wash the child off with when he or she was born.

Rushing back to the room, "Christine darling, may I check you?"

"Yes.."

"Okay we can start pushing now, the baby is ready to be born" Madame Giry said and Christine complied and pushed with all of her might.

That continued for agonizing long hour, finally with one last push a son was born.

"It's a boy" Madame Giry announced as she cleaned off the child and wrapped him tightly in a warm blanket. "Here you are Christine, here's your baby" She said happily to the new mother.

"So handsome" Christine said with a week smile. The child looked identical to Erik, in every way. Expect for no deformity and he had his mother's eyes.

Suddenly Christine gasped in pain, her eyes grew wide.

Madame Giry didn't know what it was, but something told her too, going with her gut she checked Christine out again. "Oh my God...Erik take the baby we aren't finished here."

Erik did as he was told and frantically picked his son up, out of his mothers arms. Within seconds Madame Giry was already telling Christine to push once more.

Erik just stood there, holding the baby, not knowing what else to do. He was in a panic set of mind, as tears threatened to flow down his cheeks. Although he wouldn't let them pass, he needed to stay strong for his wife and his child...children. They needed him to be strong.

Christine turned her head to look into her husbands eyes. Fear and pain written all over her expression. She needed him now more than ever, needed him to tell her everything was going to be alright. Bringing him back to reality.

Erik bent down until he was eye level with her, with his spare hand he rubbed her forehead. "It's alright Christine, I'm here...this will all be over soon enough."

Madame Giry looked up from her spot and gave a smile, "He's right dear one more good push should do the trick."

Christine nodded her head, never taking her eyes off of Erik's.

"Ready Christine? One...Two...Three...Push!"

Just as Madame Giry had said, with that last push another child was born.

"It's a boy" Giry announced again as she went to clean and wrapped the baby up.

Before she could turn back around she could hear Erik call out her name very panic like. Instantly she turned around and noticed the problem. Christine was laying motionless on the bed.

Concern growing within her as she went to check on her. Looking her over she gave a sigh of relieve and a smile.

Turning to Erik she said, "Don't worry she just passed out from all the pain and everything that's happened. She'll wake soon, this I promise you." Before adding "Would you like to hold your other son?" She asked sweetly.

The news immediately made him feel better, the fear that had grew within him was being replaced once again by pure joy. Nervously he nodded his head, "I...I would love too...but I don't know how to hold two. I barely know how to hold one...madame." Erik tried to explain.

Madame Giry noticed what he meant, placing the child she was holding on the bed she went to help him. "You're doing just fine Erik, the father in you is already setting in. May I help you?"

"Y...yes"

Gently she adjusted the baby boy that he was holding in his arms so his little head was giving enough support, and also making it more comfortable for both of them. Walking a few steps she picked the other baby up.

"Okay now Erik, do the same with your other arm...good job, see you can do this...here you go." She said while placing the baby in his arm.

Holding both of his babies made a feeling of complete love flow over him, like a title wave. He was a father, a real father and he couldn't be happier.

The feeling he felt right then in that moment, could not be described in mere words, for it was too powerful.

"I think I've got this now, madame. You may leave if you wish, I know you have other duties that need attending too. Thank you, I owe you everything." Erik said never taking his eyes off of his children.

"Very well, if you need anything you know where to find me." Madame Giry said while walking to leave, stopping at the door way she turned back around. "You owe me nothing Erik, expect maybe letting me babysit from time to time." With a smile she left.

Erik couldn't believe how blessed he was. Standing up he walked to a place with more light so he could see them better.

Taking a seat next to one of his oil lamps, he could then see that the baby placed in his left arm had his deformity.

Erik felt awful that his poor baby had to have been born with his curse. Although as he and Christine both promised. No matter what, they would love their children and never allow them to grow up with the kind of life, their father had no choice but to live. Remembering this made him feel better, allowing him to release a sigh of relieve.

This was his family and he would love and protect them always.

Just then both babies opened their eyes, looking straight up at Erik. A look that could only be described as love.

"Hello, do you know who I am?" He asked sweetly, "I am your daddy, and I love you both so very much." Lowering his head he gave both babies a kiss on their tiny foreheads.

"Would you like to go and see your mommy? She's so beautiful and kind, you'll both love her."

Erik then stood and carefully walked to his Christine's sleeping form, the woman whom has given him so much, the love of his life and mother to his children.

"There she is" He announced while sitting on the edge of the bed, by her feet. "There's your mommy" Erik said proudly to his boys.

Feeling the bed move and hearing Erik's voice made Christine wake up. She was still very much exhausted and sore, even so seeing her family in front of her gave her the strength inside to pull herself up.

Erik went closer to her then, carefully he leaning his head forward he kissed her. All of the love and unspeakable amount of happiness, flowed and spread within that kiss, leaving nothing behind.

"Thank you, Christine, thank you...for everything you've given me." Erik finally said meaning every word.

"I love you, Erik, thank you as well. You've given me everything as well, I cannot thank you enough for the happy life you have given me. Please do not forget, my love, that we've given each other this blessed gift, or should I say gifts." Christine said with a smile. "This couldn't have happened without the other."

Erik nodded his head in agreement.

"May I please see them Erik? Are they both boys, or one of both genders?" Christine asked no longer able to resist asking him. He had nearly forgotten that she had passed out before finding out.

"I'm sorry dear, I nearly forgot. We have two baby boys, beautiful boys. Which one would you like to hold?"

"The second baby, please. I haven't seen him yet."

Even though knowing that Christine would love this baby no matter what, he was still nervous to hand him over and let her see him. He prayed silently to himself that she would find him beautiful as well.

As Christine took the swaddled baby boy in her arms, a single tear fell down from her eye as she looked down at the baby with a smile.

"I can't believe they are finally here...our babies are finally here. Both beautiful as can be. I'm so happy Erik." Christine said while looking back into her husbands worried glance.

"As am I, Christine, as am I."

Just then both babies began to cry, singling they were hungry. Christine let out a giggle.

"Okay, okay, sweethearts let mommy get positioned" Christine said as she shifted her self and lowered her shirt. Placing the baby she was holding against her, letting him start to feed. It was then Erik placed the other child into her arms and let him do the same.

Christine's mouth gaped open when she realized, "Erik, we never picked out names."

"Hmm...you are correct my dear. Well what shall we name the both of you?" He said out-loud while pondering within his head.

"Gustave...after your father. I cannot say why but this one, the first one. Seems to fit this name more so than our second one." Erik said after a few minutes.

"I really like that, and your right it does fit him. Now we still have one more to name...Well I have two ideas, 1) what would you think of naming him after you?"

"No absolutely not Christine, I would not wish that for our child. Besides I would like him to have a name of his own."

Christine didn't want to question him on this subject, she knew he had his reasons and could tell he didn't really want to talk about it.

"Okay then, well my second idea was...what do you think of Henry? Like you I cannot explain why, it's just that when I look at him. It seems almost normal to call him that."

Erik nods his head in agreement, "Yes, perfect."

She smiled wide "Then we have it, happy birthday Gustave and Henry. We love you both."

The happy family sat in silence for a good while, before Christine spoke up breaking the silence. " So my love, do you think the crib you built is big enough for two?" She asked with a chuckle.

Erik couldn't help but laugh right along with her. "Nope, I'll have to get started right away on another one." Letting out a happy sigh he continued "I'm sure we'll figure out something until then, it wont take me long...I promise."

They decided that the twins would have to just share for now, seeing as they had no other option. True to his word Erik had another crib built, two days later.

Although Erik and Christine quickly learned that the twins did not like to be separate. Neither one would sleep, they only kept crying. It was Erik that had the idea to place them side by side again and almost instantly the crying ceased.

After returning back into their own room, Christine asked her husband. "Erik why don't you ever take off your mask around the babies?"

"Shouldn't that be obvious Christine? It is so that I do not scare them"

Christine shook her head, "Our children will not be scared of you. They love you no matter what you look like. If you don't wear it, they will get used to seeing you. The real you."

Erik let out a heavy sigh, taking off his mask, he stared into it blankly for a few moments. "I suppose your right, Christine. But what if-"

"There is no what if Erik" Christine interrupted "They will love you no matter what. Just like I do."

From that day on Erik never wore his mask around his family again. Years came and years passed soon before either one of them knew it five years had passed. It was now the twins fifth birthday.

"I'm gonna get you brother!" Henry yelled while running after Gustave.

"Just try and catch me!" Gustave yelled right back.

Christine and Erik both watched their children running, playing, and laughing. With a smile upon their faces.

"I can't believe it, Erik. That the children are already five years old. Where did the time go?" Christine asked her husband after releasing a soft sigh.

"That may be the only question, that I cannot answer you my love. I do have to agree, it seems like they were just born yesterday." Erik replied while wrapping his arm around Christine's shoulders. "It's truly amazing my dearest."

Turning around in his arms, she caressed his face "I love you, Angel"

"As I love you, my sweet Christine" Erik replied as he leaned in to kiss his wife.

Christine smirked at her husband, "So, I have some news for you"

"Good news I hope"

With a nod Christine gently grabbed Erik's hand and placed it on her stomach. "Very good news"

Erik just like before had a mixture of expressions flash across his face within seconds. "Another baby? Oh, Christine I can't believe it"

"Are you happy?"

"Yes, oh yes. I am beyond happy my love...How far along are you?"

"Two months the doctor thinks" Christine answered just before wrapping her arms around him, Erik did the same. They shared a long passionate kiss before looking back to their children.

"One things for sure this time, my love." Erik said

"Oh, whats that?"

"Both cribs are being set out this time. There is going to be no chancing it."

Both let out a whole-hearted laugh.

Seven months later they welcomed a baby girl into the world. Naming her Lauren.

Their life was perfect, simply perfect.
