A Christmas surprise.

It was now a few weeks since Axl had learn that he was a dad and well he had change a bit, he was still the same Axl but with a child he had started to study a bit more and even looked in to having a job so that he could look after his son, who still was living at the hospital.

It was Christmas and Axl was going home for the holiday but had promise his son that he would visit as often as he could and that the boy was going to meet his grandparents soon.

So he drove home, just as he was near the house his phone rang.

"Hello, "He said "mm yes I think I can do that. Yes see you then, bye"

Axl drove to his parent's house while he did that he thought about what to tell them, he had already decided to not tell his parents just yet about their first grandchild, but now he had to find a way to get to the meeting.

"Oh well I just have to wing it," He said to himself and parked the car.

Axl open the door to his childhood's home and he could hear his mum talking to his younger brother Brick about something.

"Ho ho ho the Axl-man is Ho home," he said

His mum Francis come running.

"Axl is home, Axl is home everybody!" she said and hugged him with a box in her hand "There's my collage boy. How was the drive? Are you hungry?"

"Starving", He said and took the box, and gave his mother his big bag "Lats"

And with that he turn to walk out and drive to the meeting hopefully his mom would let him just leave.

"Wait wait I was so excited to hear about collage and how your exams went," Francis said "Well exam."

Axl looked at the clock and saw that if he didn't go soon he would be late and may not be able to visit his son.

"Well Darren got the new Xbox so me and Shan is heading over to his place," Axl lied.

"Will you be home for dinner?" Francis asked him

"Nope," He said and eat one of the donut holes.

"Well I guess we see you tomorrow," His mom said

"Only if you are looking at my picture in the hallway," He replied and when he saw the look on her face a small part of himself hated him, but he had to do this.

"Oh come Axl we had to see you tomorrow," Francis said and Axl turn to her "We were all going to get the tree and decorate it as a family."

That sounded fun but for once Axl had other things to do, important thing.

"That is a definitive no," he said

"That is a definitive yes, "His mom said

"What!" Axl yelped and turn to his mom

"This is a family holiday and if you think can blow of your family for the entire Christmas you have another thing coming," Francis said

Axl started to get stressed he must go now or he may not see his son and he really wanted to see his son.

"What so all of a sudden Christmas is about family," he said

"I am asking for two minutes," Francis said

And then they started to fight, and it was like that Mike found them.

"Hey Hey Hey what is going on?" he asked and separated them.

"Apparently Mum is planning to hold me hostage all Christmas," Axl said and tried not to notice the hurt in his mum's eyes.

"Oh you think I am holding YOU hostage!" Francis said "you're grounded!"

"Am been home for three minutes and I am already grounded," Axl said "Oh this is the worst Christmas ever!"

"Woh woh woh, let's not start throwing that phrase around," Mike said holding his eldest son in the jacket. "This is the best Christmas ever, because it's just with the family. Like god intended."

Axl sigh it seems to be that he would not see his son today, but he still had to be at the meeting thankfully they would wait as his lawyer know that he had yet told his family about the child and was planning to do it on Christmas day.

"Mum is being totally unfair, I just got here and she told me I can't hang out with my friends," Axl said.

"I didn't say that," Francis said "I said that you couldn't hang out with just your friends."

And they were off again fighting.

"Make a list over what you want to do," Mike said

Both Axl and Francis agree to do that, but now Axl was late and he really needed to go.

"I will make mine at Darren's," He said and with that he was gone.

Axl drove back to the hospital were his son was living, there he meet with his lawyer Mr Harrold and Ginny's lawyer Mr Knapp, and Doctor Thomas.

"Okay my client want child support," Mr Harrold said "Here is the bare minimum that we want."

"5000 dollar per month," Mr Knapp said "Not going to happen."

And the two lawyers talk and fought.

And after two hours the finally come to a decision, and Axl would get a monthly child support of 8525 dollar.

Axl was just about to leave when Doctor Thomas come up to him and asked if he wanted to visit his son, which Axl wanted.

When he drove home again Axl was happier than he had been when he left his house, he had written down a few thing on a piece of paper that he would say that wanted to do, but in reality he was going to see his son on most of the days, he was learning to take care of the boy all by himself.

He walk in to the house with the list.

"Here is my list let's do this," he said.

He and his mom sat down at the table.

"Okay I have looked over the entire Christmas break and I am writing down the number of hours I am willing to spend with you," he said and wrote down something he know his mom wouldn't let him have.

Francis looked at the note.

"Two!" she said

"Yes two hours that is enough family time for me," Axl said "I have a life outside of this family you know."

And with that Axl walked out of the room and into his and his brother's room to think.

The last couple of days had been hard, Axl wanted so badly to tell his family where he was going and why but he also wanted it to be a surprise on Christmas day.

Axl spend most of his day when he wasn't dragged along with the family with his son who he cared for now more or less alone with some help from the nurses.

He could see that his mum was mad at him for not wanting to be a part of the family and it made him sad a bit he hope that she would be happy with him soon.

It was the night before Christmas day and Axl had said that he was going out with some friends and he had even got Darren and Shan to help him with the illusion by coming around and drive a bit with him they didn't know what he was really doing.

Axl open the door and walked in quietly as he could not to wake his family nor his son who was fast asleep in his arms, he also had a travel cot with him and a few bags with baby things. Axl had just put the bags and cot down beside the tree when his son made a few small cries and open his big blue eyes and open his little mouth to show that he was hungry.

Axl with train ease made a bottle while rocking his child on his hip in the way he know his son liked and soon he was sitting on the sofa feeding the small boy, he looked down at his son and remembered how scared he had been when he first had seen him and the first time he had held him.

The little boy eat hungrily feeling safe with his daddy.

As soon as the child had drank the last of the milk Axl put him to his should and burped him, then he plated a kiss on the baby's fuzzy brown haired head.

"Time to sleep little one," he whispered not knowing that this was the same thing his own mother had said to him as a baby.

Axl had not plan on falling asleep with his son on his chest on the sofa but that was what happened.

And that was also how Frankie found them the next morning when she woke up and walked out to make coffee for her and Mike, she first thought that she was still dreaming there on the sofa was Axl fast asleep with a baby on his chest also sleeping sucking on a pacifier.

Frankie just stood there staring at the scene before her until she heard footstep behind her and Sue come in still rubbing her eyes with her fist to wipe the sleep out of them when she saw her brother and the baby she gave a cry of surprise and woke both the baby and Axl, the little boy was telling everyone that would listen that he was not happy being awoken like that and screamed his lungs out.

Axl jumped up and started comforting his son with train ease and soon the boy was hiccupping but not crying.

"Good morning little one did Auntie Sue scare you," Axl said and rubbed the baby's back

"Axl Redford Heck!" Frankie said not too loud she didn't want the child to be scared again.

"Hi mum meet your grandson," Axl said before giving his shocked mother the baby "I will explain everything when everyone is here. I do believe this little one need a change and a bottle, so grandma if you could do the bottle so will I do the change."

Frankie merely nodded and give the boy back to his dad, she was a grandmother… her son was a daddy. Frankie made the bottle.

Sue was just standing there starring at her brother who had a son how did that happened?

Axl returned with the boy on his hip and thanked his mum for the bottle and sat down to give his child the bottle.

And before that bottle was done the two family members that had yet been woken was woken now and come into the kitchen to meet by Axl sitting on a chair feeding a baby.

"What in god's name is this," Mick said staring at his son and grandson.

"Hi dad meet your grandson," Axl said and made the baby's hand wave to Mike

"You have a son?" Brick asked

"Yes it was a bit of a surprise when I got that call," Axl said and told his family all about Ginny and how he now was a single dad.

His family was a bot shocked but when the baby who had eaten was happy just sitting in the lap of his daddy smiled at them their heart melted.

"So what is his name?" Mike asked

"Michael Francis Anthony Heck," Axl said "Named after his grandparents and Anthony is just a name I like. So I give you your grandson Anthony Heck."

"Hello little Anthony," Frankie said and stroke her grandson's cheek and little Anthony cooed back. "This must be the best Christmas present you have ever given us Axl."

"You do realize the responsibility that comes with a child?" Mike asked

"Yes dad I do," Axl said "I have been learning how to take care of him and I was hoping that you and mom could help me too, not too much Anthony is my son and my responsibility."

"We will help you," Frankie promise

"I can babysit him," Sue said

"Thanks Sue," Axl said smiling

Later that night in bed Mike and Frankie talked about Axl and Anthony and how their son had grown up.
