Here it is, the final chapter. Thank you for reading and reviewing. Hope you liked it.
Steve stood still for a second. The baby's coming!
"Alright honey, it's gonna be alright. We'll go to the hospital."
Steve helped her out of bed and supported her as they walked downstairs. Lauren was at the bottom of the stairs as they came down.
"Is everything okay?" Lauren asked concerned.
"Yes it's fine. Her water broke. I'm taking her to the hospital. Will you keep an eye on the kids?"
"Of course, I'll get the kids ready and I'll come to hospital. Don't worry about the kids, I'll take care of them."
"Thanks."
"Steve, just hurry up!" Catherine yelled at him.
"It's gonna be okay honey."
Steve brought her to the car as Lauren came behind them with Catherine's bag.
"Good luck," Lauren told them before they drove off.
Steve drove to the hospital as fast as he could. Catherine was occasionally screaming with pain as a contraction hit her.
"Just breathe honey, you're doing great." Steve held her hand so she could squeeze his hand.
Steve pulled up to the hospital and parked the car. He helped Catherine out of the car and grabbed her bag. One of the orderlies who were standing outside saw them coming and quickly went inside to grab a wheelchair.
"Thanks," Steve told him as he helped Catherine into the wheelchair.
He rushed them upstairs and went to the desk. He had called the doctor in the car. She was on her way.
"Catherine McGarrett checking in," Steve spoke to the desk clerk.
"Yes, Abby, can you show Mrs. McGarrett to her room please, room 342."
Steve pushed the wheelchair and followed Abby to the room. Abby made the bed ready and Steve helped Catherine in.
"Is your doctor on it's way?" Abby asked.
"Yes, she should be right here," Steve answered.
"Alright good. Just try to relax Mrs. McGarrett."
"Call me Catherine and I'm trying."
A few minutes later their doctor walked in.
"I see it's time," she spoke.
"Yes it is," Catherine answered.
"When did you water break?"
"Alright, let's go see how far you are." The doctor pulled on some gloves and checked in between Catherine's legs. "You're 5 centimeters now."
"5 centimeters already?" Catherine asked astonished.
"Yes, how long have you been in labor?"
"I don't know, maybe since last night. I just thought the baby was active."
"Alright, we'll just have to wait now until you're fully dilated. Can I get you something for the pain?"
"No thanks."
"Are you sure Cath?" Steve asked her.
"Yeah I'm sure."
"Alright, I'll be back to check on you a little later."
Steve pulled out his phone.
"Hey Steve," Danny answered.
"Hey Danny, I'm not coming in today. Catherine has gone into labor."
"That's fine, take care of Catherine and let us know when the baby is here."
"I will, thanks Danny," Steve spoke as he hung up.
Steve supported Catherine as she got the contractions. Over the last 3 hours the contractions got closer and closer together. Steve moved to sit behind her so he could support her.
"It's gonna be okay Cath, you can do this."
"Shut up! This is all your doing."
"It's okay Cath, you can do this. You did it with the twins, it's only one this time."
"Alright Catherine, when you feel another contraction I want you to push," the doctor spoke.
As the contraction came Catherine pushed. She pushed her hands down against Steve's.
3 more pushes and the baby's head was almost out.
"Alright Catherine, one more push and the baby's head is out."
"You can do it Cath, I'm right here with you," Steve told her as he wiped her head off with a cold cloth.
Catherine pushed again and the baby's head was out.
"You're doing great honey. I'm so proud of you."
"Shut up! I hate you so much right now!" Catherine yelled at him.
"I know, it's okay honey. You're doing great honey. You can do this."
2 more pushes and the baby was almost out.
"Alright Catherine, one more push, big push," the doctor told her.
"I can't."
"Yes you can honey. You can, just one more push honey. You can do it. I'm right here with you."
Catherine grabbed Steve's hand as tightly as she could. She gave it all the strength she had left and she pushed. She let out a loud cry as she baby finally came out. The little girl immediately started crying.
"Look at that honey, we have a little girl," Steve told Catherine.
"Yeah," Catherine spoke with tears in her eyes. "Is she okay doctor?"
"She looks fine but I'm just gonna go check her out. Would you like to do the honors dad?"
The nurse handed Steve a pair of scissors and Steve cut the umbilical cord. The doctor took her to aside and cleaned her up.
"Look at her, she's so beautiful," Catherine spoke.
"I know, what else could she be with a mommy like you."
Catherine tilted her head a bit backwards so she could kiss Steve. "I love you Steve."
"And I love you Cath."
"Your little girl is perfectly healthy," the doctor spoke as she handed the little girl to Catherine.
"Thank you doctor."
"You're welcome. Do you have a name for the little girl?"
"Yes, Kiana McGarrett."
"Alright, I'll go write up her paperwork. Congratulations."
"Thank you doctor."
Catherine and Steve looked at the little girl lying in Catherine's arms. She was so beautiful. They already loved her so much.
"She's perfect," Catherine spoke.
"Yes she is, our perfect little girl."
"Thank you for making me a mommy again," Catherine spoke as she looked at Steve.
"Thank you for making me a daddy again." Steve gave Catherine a kissed and they just looked at the little girl lying in Catherine's arms.
"Honey, could you grab my bag for me. I wanna dress her."
"Sure."
Steve stood up and grabbed the bag. He put the bag at the end of the bed as Catherine laid Kiana in between her legs. Steve pulled out a diaper and Catherine put it on and after that a romper.
"What do you want?" Steve spoke as he held up the sets of clothes Catherine had packed.
"The pink onesie please."
Steve handed the pink onesie to Catherine and Catherine dressed Kiana. She looked so cute. Steve put the little hat on her head as Catherine put her slippers on. Catherine picked her up once she was dressed and held her in her arms.
They sat there for a while before Steve took Kiana and went out to the waiting room. Lauren was sitting in the waiting room with the kids. She saw Steve walking up to them.
"Kye, Kailani, daddy's here."
The kids looked up from their toys and as soon as they saw Steve they walked up to him.
"Hey guys," Steve spoke.
"Congratulations Steve," Lauren spoke as she looked at the little girl lying in Steve's arms.
"Aw, she's so cute. Are she and Catherine okay?"
"Yes they are both fine."
Kye and Kailani had joined them too and Steve got down so they could see their little sister.
"This is your little sister Kiana," Steve told them.
"Baby," Kailani spoke.
"Yes this is your baby sister."
Kailani gave Kiana a soft kiss on her head. Kye was not sure what to do, he just looked at the little thing lying in his daddy's arms.
"You wanna go see mommy?"
Lauren took the kids and followed Steve back to Catherine's room.
"Mommy!" Kye and Kailani squealed as they walked into the room.
"Hey my little munchkins."
Lauren helped the kids onto the bed and they crawled up to Catherine. Catherine took them in her arms and gave them both a kiss.
"Did you see your baby sister?"
"Baby, cute," Kailani spoke.
"Yes she's cute."
"Tummy gone," Kye spoke.
"Yes, mommy's tummy is gone. Your little sister was in there but now she's here."
"She really is cute," Lauren spoke as she looked at Kiana lying in Steve's arms.
"Yes she is," Steve replied, his voice full of love.
"Why don't you sit next to Catherine, I'll take a picture of all of you."
Steve sat next to Catherine on the bed as he held Kiana. Kye and Kailani were sitting on Catherine's lap.
"You 5 look so cute together, one happy family."
Kailani was very interested in the little baby lying in Steve's arms.
"Big siste," Kailani spoke.
"Yes, you're her big sister."
The 5 of them sat there for a while until Kiana started crying.
"She's probably hungry," Catherine spoke.
"I'll take the kids home so you can have some rest," Lauren told them.
"Thanks Lauren."
"It's my pleasure. Say bye bye to mommy and daddy."
"Bye bye," Kye and Kailani spoke. Kailani gave Kiana a soft kiss before they left.
Steve handed Kiana to Catherine and she fed her. As soon as Catherine exposed her breast Kiana immediately started drinking.
"There's a good girl," Catherine softly told her.
Steve looked at the beautiful girl lying in Catherine's arms, gently sucking. It was so cute to see. She was only about an hour old but Steve already loved her so much.
Just as Catherine was done feeding Kiana there was a knock on the door.
"Hey guys," Danny spoke as they walked in.
"Hey guys," Catherine greeted them.
They congratulated Steve and Catherine.
"Aw she's so cute," Kono spoke as she looked at the little girl. "What's here name?"
"Kiana."
"Another K huh," Danny replied.
"Yes, we decided to stick with the K."
"She's really cute," Chin stated.
"We brought you something. It's from all of us," Danny spoke as he handed the gift to Steve.
Steve opened the gift and pulled out a white onesie with butterflies on it and pink flowered pajama.
"Thanks guys, this is really nice."
"She'll look cute in it," Catherine added.
Catherine handed the baby to Kono. Steve pulled out the camera and took a picture of everyone holding Kiana. Once lunch hour was over they left. Steve held his little girl as they said their goodbyes. There was nothing like holding your new born.
"You look so cute," Catherine spoke as she looked at Steve holding Kiana.
"She's so beautiful, just like her mommy."
"She's got your eyes though."
"We do make pretty cute babies."
"Yes we do."
Steve sat down next to Catherine on the bed.
"I love you so much Cath."
"I love you more," Catherine replied with a smile as Steve kissed her.
"I'm so happy right now, here with you and our new little girl."
"Yeah me too," Catherine replied as she put her head down on Steve's shoulder.
Together they looked at the little girl lying peacefully in Steve's arms. A little later Steve noticed that Catherine had fallen asleep. Steve sat there looking at his beautiful little girl.
Later that afternoon Mary came by with Joan.
"Hey guys," Mary called as she walked into the room.
"Hey Mary," Steve greeted his sister.
"Uncle Steve!" Joan squealed.
"Hey sweetie." Steve picked her up.
"We're coming to see my new cousin. I brought something for her."
"That's nice of you sweetie."
Mary handed Joan her gift and Joan gave it to the baby. It was a stuffed bear.
"Thank you Joan," Catherine told her as she took the bear.
Mary had a basket for them. Catherine could take one present out per day. Catherine took the first present out. It was a wooden train with the letters of Kiana's name.
"Thanks Mary. We were planning to buy one like this."
"You're welcome. Glad you didn't already."
"We didn't want people to know the name already."
"She's so cute."
"You wanna hold her?"
"Sure."
Catherine handed the baby to Mary. Mary sat down on one of the chairs and Joan stood next to her and looked at the baby. Steve took a picture of the 3 of them.
"Was I this little once too mommy?" Joan asked.
"Yes you were. Even me, Uncle Steve and Aunt Catherine were. Everyone has been this small once."
"Can I hold her too mommy?"
Mary looked at Steve who nodded. "Sure. Just sit on the chair and put your arms like mine."
Joan sat on the chair and put her arms like Mary said. Carefully Mary placed Kiana in Joan's hand.
"Hold her head sweetie."
Joan held the baby. Kiana didn't mind it. She lay peacefully in Joan's arms as she looked up at her. Steve took another picture. About an hour later Mary and Joan left. Kiana had fallen asleep in Joan's arms. Steve carefully picked her up and placed her in her crib.
"Bye guys," Mary told them.
"Bye guys, thanks for coming," Catherine quietly replied.
"Take care of my niece," Mary told Steve.
"I will Mary."
Steve sat down next to Catherine on the bed and they looked at their little girl sleeping peacefully.
"I can just look at her all day," Steve admitted.
"I know, me too. It's weird, loving someone so much already when you've only known her for a couple of hours."
"I know. But I do love her very much and I love her mommy too."
"I love her daddy too."
Catherine was pretty tired after the birth so Steve let her get some sleep. He sat in the chair next to the crib and looked at his little girl. She was sleeping peacefully and sucking on her pacifier. There was nothing like seeing your new baby for the first time, holding her, smelling her.
Catherine woke up just after 7pm when Kiana started crying. Steve tried his best to comfort her but he figured she was hungry.
"I think our little girl is hungry."
Steve handed Kiana to Catherine fed her.
"How are we doing here?" The doctor asked as she walked in. Then she saw that Catherine was breastfeeding. "I'm sorry, I can come back later."
"It's okay. We're doing fine. She's drinking very well."
"That's good. Well everything is in order so you guys can go home."
"Thank you doctor, for everything."
"You're welcome. Enjoy your family life with the new one."
"We will."
The doctor left and Steve packed up Catherine's things. Once Catherine was done feeding she handed Kiana off to Steve for burping while she got dressed. Just as Catherine was done a nurse came in with a wheelchair.
"I don't need the wheelchair."
"Hospital policy ma'am."
"Alright then."
Catherine sat in the wheelchair and Steve handed Kiana to her. Steve grabbed their things and they walked out. Steve put Kiana in her car seat as Catherine got in the back seat with her.
With everything and everyone loaded into the car Steve drove home. Steve pulled up to the driveway and saw a string hanging in front of the window with the text: 'It's a girl' in pink letters. Catherine took Kiana in her car seat as Steve got their things. They walked into the house and it was decorated with pink strings and balloons. There was a banner hanging there with 'Welcome home Kiana' on it.
"Hey guys, welcome home," Lauren spoke as she came down the stairs.
"Thank you. You did this?" Catherine asked.
"Yes I did."
"Thank you. It's very nice."
"You're welcome. They kids are already asleep."
"That's good."
"There's dinner for you in the fridge if you need it. I did some grocery shopping so you have enough food for the next couple of days."
"Thanks Lauren," Steve told her.
"If you need anything, I'm just a call away. I'll see you guys next week."
"Yes thank you, for everything."
"It's my pleasure."
Lauren gave Kiana a little kiss and she left. Catherine took Kiana upstairs since she had fallen asleep on the right over here. Steve went with her. Since Kiana was asleep Catherine didn't bother in putting a pajama on her, she could sleep in her onesie. Catherine gave her a soft kiss before putting her in her crib. She and Steve stood over the crib and watched their little girl sleeping in her crib for the first time.
"She's so beautiful," Catherine said.
"Yes she is."
They stood there for a while before going down. Steve went to check on the twins, they were sleeping.
That night the baby woke up a few times. Steve went out every time. If the baby was hungry he would bring her to Catherine. Since this wasn't their first baby Steve was more used to it. Changing a diaper was easy now and he recognized her cries.
Steve was up early the next morning and he went to get Kiana. She was just waking up as Steve walked into the room.
"Hey little girl," Steve softly spoke.
Steve picked her up and gave her a soft kiss. He changed her diaper and dressed her. Once he was done he took her downstairs and sat outside in the hammock which was in the shade.
"Daddy loves you so much. He's so happy to have you, mommy, your brother and your sister in his life. You're such a cute little girl."
Steve softly stroked her cheek. Kiana just looked up at him. Steve lay down on the hammock with Kiana on his chest. He could stay here forever.
After a while Kiana started fuzzing so Steve went inside and prepared a bottle for her. Catherine had filled some bottles with breast milk. He warmed it up and made sure it wasn't too hot before he put the nipple in Kiana's mouth. Kiana immediately started drinking.
"There's a good girl."
She finished almost the entire bottle. Steve put her over his shoulder for burping. Once he was done he lay back down on the hammock. Kiana was content with lying on his chest.
Catherine woke up a little later and she noticed Steve was out of bed. She opened the doors to the balcony and breathed in the fresh air. She loved the view from the balcony. She looked down and saw Steve lying in the hammock. She quickly took her phone and took a picture of them. She got dressed and headed downstairs as well. She was just about to walk down the stairs when the twins woke up. She got them out of bed and dressed them. With the twins in her arms she walked downstairs and went outside.
"Good morning," Catherine spoke as she walked outside.
"Good morning," Steve replied as he looked up.
Steve sat up and Catherine sat down next to him with the twins.
"Hey little girl," Catherine spoke to Kiana. Kiana tried to turn to the sound of Catherine's voice but she couldn't so Steve moved her over so she could see Catherine. "Hey sweetie." Catherine tickled her tummy. "Did she eat already?"
"Yes I fed her the bottle."
"That's good. Did she take it?"
"Yes it was fine. She finished almost the entire bottle."
"That's good."
"Who wants some breakfast?"
"Me!" The twins squealed, causing Kiana to fuzz.
"Shhh, it's okay sweetie," Steve tried to calm her down.
"Don't yell so loudly okay, you're scaring your little sister."
Once Kiana had calmed down Steve put her in her bouncy chair on the porch and went to get breakfast. Catherine put the kids in their high chairs and waited for the breakfast.
Steve and Catherine loved morning like this, eating breakfast with their family.
…
Kiana was now a week old. It was a little bit getting used to for the twins. They didn't get all the attention now; they had to share it with their little sister. Kailani was okay with it, for Kye it was a bit more difficult.
Steve sat on the couch and he was feeding Kiana since Catherine was in the shower. Kye wanted to climb on his father's lap.
"Kye not now, daddy's is feeding your sister."
Kye didn't listen and climbed further onto Steve's lap.
"Not now, daddy said." Steve put him back on the floor causing Kye to start crying.
Since Steve was feeding Kiana he didn't have time for Kye right now. Catherine came down the stairs a few seconds later.
"What's wrong with Kye?" Catherine asked concerned.
"He wanted to sit on my lap but I told him no since I'm feeding Kiana. But he didn't like it. He doesn't like that he has to share our attention with Kiana. Just let him be, he'll stop shortly."
"You want to leave my baby crying?" Catherine snapped at him.
"Cath, he has to learn that he can't always get our attention when he wants to."
"He's just 1 Steve, he doesn't understand."
"He has to, now with the new baby."
Catherine didn't listen to Steve and she picked Kye up.
"It's okay buddy. Daddy can't hold you right now cus he's feeding your sister. Shh it's okay buddy."
Kye stopped crying after a while. Kiana finished the bottle and Steve put her over his shoulder as he rubbed her bag.
…
Every time when Steve was holding Kiana Kye wanted his father's attention and when he didn't get it he started crying. If Catherine heard she came to pick him up.
"Honey, you can't keep picking him up. Then he'll know he just has to cry when he can't sit on my lap and you'll come pick him up."
"I don't like to hear my baby crying."
"I know me neither. But he has to learn. He can't cry every time he can't sit on my lap."
"So you're saying I should just let him cry."
"Yes, he'll stop eventually."
"I thought you were a good daddy, not someone who lets their kids cry." Catherine spoke and she stormed off outside after putting Kye in his playpen. Steve put Kiana in her playpen as well. He made sure Kye and Kailani couldn't go anywhere before he went outside. He took a breath before he stepped outside. He couldn't believe that Catherine said he wasn't a good daddy. It hurt him. He found Catherine in the chairs near the beach. He could see that she was crying.
"Honey, I'm sorry," Steve spoke as he crouched down in front of her. "I'm sorry, but sometimes you just have to let them cry."
Catherine wiped the tears out of her eyes and looked at Steve.
"I know and I'm sorry I called you a bad daddy. You're anything but. You're the best daddy I could ever ask for. I don't know why I said it, I didn't mean it."
"It's okay Cath."
"What's wrong with me? I never was like this."
"It's okay honey," Steve told her as he scooped her up in his arms and sat down on the chair with her on his lap.
"No, it's not. I called you a bad daddy. You're not. I'm so sorry I said that."
"It's okay honey. It's okay Cath. It's probably just the pregnancy hormones that are still in your body. It's okay honey."
"I'm so sorry Steve," Catherine said as she lifted her head up and gave Steve a kiss. "You're such a good daddy. I wouldn't want any other daddy for my kids. I'm sorry I said that."
"It's okay Cath."
They sat there for a little while before they went back inside. The kids were still in their playpens. They looked at their 3 kids. Neither one of them had thought that their lives would be like this when they got married but they both loved it. Steve took the twins to the park so Catherine could have some peace and quiet. Catherine lay down on the couch with Kiana on her chest.
Steve was at the park and put the kids on the double swing chair. They loved the swing. Steve stayed at the park for about an hour before going back. Catherine was asleep on the couch and so was Kiana.
"Shh, let mommy sleep," Steve whispered and he took the kids outside.
Catherine woke up an hour later and she heard the kids outside. She picked Kiana up and walked outside.
"Hey guys, had fun at the park?"
"Yes we did, you had a nice nap?"
"Yes I did, thanks."
….
Kiana was now 3 months old. Life had settled at the McGarrett household. Kye was used to it now that he couldn't always have Steve's attention. They had settled into a good routine with the kids, most days it ran smoothly.
Steve had asked if Lauren could look after the kids tonight.
"Lauren is picked the kids up in a while," Steve told Catherine.
"Why?"
"I asked her to, so we can have some time to ourselves," Steve told her as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"That's nice of you," Catherine replied as she gave Steve a kiss.
Lauren came to pick the kids up. Steve sent Catherine upstairs so he could get started on dinner. They had a lovely dinner in their backyard near the beach.
"Thank you Steve, this is very sweet of you."
"It's not over yet."
"It's not?"
"Nope, I've got more planned."
They lay down on the beach, enjoy the last bit of sun.
"I love you so much Steve," Catherine told him.
"I love you too Cath."
Steve kissed her deeply and Catherine eagerly kissed him back. She was breathless when Steve stopped kissing her. Steve started taking off his clothes.
"What are you doing Steve?"
"Just going for a swim, care to join me?"
"Skinny dipping? Seriously Steve."
"No one will see us. Come on it'll be fun."
Steve had finished with his clothes and dove into the water. Catherine took her clothes off too and joined Steve in the water. She saw up to him and Steve wrapped his arms around her and kissed her deeply again. Steve pulled Catherine closer to him and Catherine felt what his intentions were.
"Really Steve? Out here?"
"No one can see us. Trust me. Unless you're not ready for it."
"No, I'm ready."
"Are you sure? We don't have to do this if you're not ready."
Catherine kissed him as she grabbed him and pushed him inside of her.
"What does that tell you?"
"Hmmm," Steve moaned.
Catherine moved her legs around Steve as they made love in the water. It felt so good to do it in the water. It felt good to do it again, she had missed it.
Once they were done in the water they went upstairs and resumed their love making.
"Hmm Steve, that was amazing," Catherine uttered as they lay in each other's arms after their 4th time.
"Yes it was, I missed being with you like this."
"I missed you too sweetie."
They kissed each other and fell asleep.
…..
It was time for the twins 2nd birthday. Kiana was now 6 months old. Steve went to get the twins up for the day. They were already bouncing up and down in their beds when Steve went to get them.
"Good morning, my little birthday munchkins," Steve spoke.
He dressed them in their birthday outfits and took them downstairs. Catherine was already downstairs with Kiana.
"Good morning, happy birthday," Catherine spoke.
Since it was Sunday they were having the birthday party today. In the afternoon the guests started arriving. Once everyone was there Steve brought out the cake as everyone sang happy birthday. Kye and Kailani blew the candles out and Steve and Catherine cut the cake and gave everyone a piece.
Kye and Kailani had a wonderful time. They got a lot of gifts. Steve had set up a pool as well so they kids could go swimming.
When they kids were outside Steve, Danny and Chin went upstairs to put the new beds together for the twins.
A little after 8pm everyone left. Kiana was already asleep in her crib. Steve and Catherine took the kids upstairs. Once they saw their new beds they jumped up and down before jumping on their beds. Kye had a cars bed and Kailani had a princess bed.
"You like your new beds?" Catherine asked.
"Yes, thank you mommy, thank you daddy," Kailani answered as she gave Steve and Catherine a hug and Kye did the same.
"Now get your pajamas on, it's time for bed."
The kids were asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillows.
"They had a nice day today," Steve told Catherine as they cleaned up outside.
"Yes they did."
…..
Kiana was turning on year old today.
"I can't believe she's already one today," Catherine spoke as they looked over Kiana's crib.
"I know, me neither."
"Good morning my little sweetheart," Catherine spoke as she picked Kiana up.
"Dada," Kiana spoke.
"Did you hear that honey? She said dada."
"Yes I heard. Hey, my little princess. Happy birthday."
Steve gave her a kiss and Catherine went to get her dressed. Steve went to get the twins up. They got dressed and headed downstairs.
"Happy biwdday," Kye and Kailani tried to say happy birthday as they walked into the kitchen where Kiana was.
They each gave Kiana a little gift and Catherine helped to unpack it. It were two little stuffed animals, one was a dolphin and the other one a bear. Kiana was all smiles as he held the two little animals.
After breakfast Steve went to get their present. He put Kiana on the ground with it and helped her to unwrap it. It was a rocking horse. Steve put Kiana on it and she started swinging back and forth. Catherine was filming it and Kiana had a big smile on her face.
"I think she likes it," Steve stated.
"Yes, I think she does."
Today was the twins first day of preschool. They loaded the kids into the car and drove to the school.
"Big," Kye spoke as he looked at the building.
"Yes, it's big. This is your new school."
Steve took Kye and Kailani's hand as Catherine carried Kiana in her car seat.
"Well hello, who do we have here?" The teacher spoke as she saw Steve with Kye and Kailani. "What's your name?"
"Kye," Kye answered.
"That's a beautiful name, and yours sweetie?"
Kailani was a bit shy and she crawled against Steve's leg.
"It's okay Kailani, it's your teacher. Say hello."
"Ello," Kailani spoke.
"Hey sweetie, I'm your teacher, miss Becky. What's your name?"
"Kailani."
"Another beautiful name."
The teacher shook Steve's and Catherine's hand too.
"And who's this little girl here?"
"Little siste," Kye spoke.
"And what is your sister's name?"
"Kiana."
"That's a nice name."
"Shall we got meet your classmates. Come on."
Becky stuck her hands out and Kye and Kailani took it. Steve and Catherine went into the classroom for a short bit.
Kye and Kailani gave Steve and Catherine a hug and a kiss before they left.
"Be good today munchkins. Mommy and daddy will be back later to pick you up," Steve told them.
Steve and Catherine left the classroom but as soon as they had closed the door Kye and Kailani came after them crying. Steve opened the door and gave both of them a hug.
"It's okay sweeties. Mommy and daddy will be back later. You're gonna have fun today with Miss Becky and the other kids. It's okay."
Steve gave them both a kiss as the teacher took them back to the class.
Catherine was having a hard time with the kids going to school.
"It's okay honey, they'll be fine."
"I know, I'm just used to having them at home."
"I know, but it's only for a couple of hours."
"I know and it's good for them. It's just hard."
"I know honey," Steve told her as he gave her a kiss.
"Hello class," Becky said. "We have two new kids today. This is Kye and this is Kailani."
"Hi," the kids replied.
Kye and Kailani waved back at them and they sat on the ground with the other kids.
Steve dropped Catherine off at home and he went to the office.
Just before noon he went back home and picked up the kids with Catherine. As soon as Kye and Kailani saw their parents they came running up to them.
"Hey sweeties," Steve picked them up and gave them a kiss. "Did you have fun today?"
"Yes," Both kids spoke.
"That's good."
They went to the teacher and asked how they did. They did very well. Steve had taken the afternoon off so he could be at home. Just before dinner the others came by and they celebrate Kiana's birthday.
"No presents?" Kye asked with a sad face.
"No, not for you this time," Catherine explained to them. "It's Kiana's birthday today not yours. So today Kiana gets presents. You get it when it's your birthday. Okay."
Kye nodded.
They had a lovely time. Steve and Catherine loved their family. Their family was perfect with Kye, Kailani and Kiana.
The end.
