Sorry for being a total poop of late guys. Here is a chapter to make up for my almost four month absence.

Chapter Five: The Couch.
~Fionna's P.O.V~
The grand tour of Marshall's house consisted of a kitchen, a living room, the bathroom I had already been in, a room that had some music equipment and a few dusty boxes in the corner, the basement which was, well a basement, and now we were at the last stop. He opened the door and it was his bedroom obviously.
"This is my room, well *our* room now." He said just to get a reaction from me.
I shook my head, "No, I think I'll just bunk on the couch for the few nights I'm here. Thanks."
He looked at me with raised eyebrows. "You won't last a night with that couch, bunny. It is the most uncomfortable piece of furniture in existence."
"Oh, I'm sure it's fine." I said rolling my eyes.
"Okay then. Go sit on it for fifteen minutes." He smirked.
"I will." I boldly started walking down to the living room and plopping on the burgundy couch. Not even thirty seconds later I realized my mistake. Marshall hadn't been lying; that couch managed to be impossible to get a comfortable position on. I shifted around for the full fifteen minutes, dying a little bit with each passing minute feeling longer on the couch. Marshall just watched me laughing a bit.
"I told you, bunny~" He cooed from where he stood. "That couch is the worst." He chuckled.
"Then why do you even have it?" I ask, still shifting around on it, sticking my legs over the back of it and my head hanging off the couch.
"Well, I don't live here all the time. Just most of the time, and I don't ever sit on that couch when I am here." He shrugs some.
"What about when you have guests?" I ask still moving around to find that sweet spot on the couch where I'd be comfortable. Sadly, there was none.
"I don't have people over often, I typically meet them up at parties or go to their places. Plus when people are over here, I find it mildly amusing to watch them to rape my couch to find a comfortable position." He chuckles as I become self aware of what all I have been doing for the past several minutes.
"You should get a new couch." I muttered giving up on the horrid piece of furniture and standing up.
"I like my couch. It has character." He smirks.
"You even called it the worst!" I shake my head a bit before saying, "You were right, that couch is horrible though."
"So that means your bunking with me." He says his white teeth practically blinding me. Wait, did he… have… fangs?
"I'll just sleep on the floor in here. It's no big deal." I said shrugging.
"If one of us is going to sleep on the floor then it's going to be me. You are my guest, you don't sleep on the floor."
"Seriously Marshall, it's fine."
"Nope, sorry babe, but it has been anonymously decided that I am going to sleep on the floor and you will take to the bed." He wore a small smirk when he said that.
"How was that anonymous? There are only two of us here and I don't remember a vote being taken."
"Why are you so against sleeping in my bed?"
Ugh. Why does Marshall always avoid my questions like a little shit? "Because… because… I just am okay?"
"Well, if you don't sleep in the bed, then I guess it will just be us two sleeping on the floor like idiots." He notes in an oh-matter-of-fact manner.
I decided to finally cave in since it was obvious he wasn't going to. "You're a stubborn dingus, you know that?" He only grinned at that.
When I woke up the next morning it took me a while to gather my bearings. I had almost forgotten that I was not at home but instead in some guy's bed in the middle of the woods somewhere with no real idea where the hell I was. It was hard to tell what the time really was since, there was no clock in his room and it was still dark with the thick forest blocking out most of the light from reaching the windows.
After laying in Marshall's soft warm bed for about twenty or so minutes, just staring at the ceiling blankly, I decided I might as well get up… Nah, I was too cozy to move an inch out of the cocoon of blankets I had fashioned around myself. After a long while of just laying there and letting myself get used to being awake, I finally sat up and stretched my back and arms; my muscles tingled a bit in pleasure of being shifted from their stiff state. When my feet swung down off the bed I was not expecting for them to come into contact with a blanket covered mass, also known as Marshall Lee.
I nearly shrieked out of surprise, but refrained in fear of waking him (even though it was pointless now because getting kicked seemed to have done the job of waking him). He let out a grunt and sat up.
"The hell are you trying to do? Make me bleed internally?" He rubbed his face and looked to me.
"I- I didn't know you were in here.."
"Well, where would I be? It's my room." He says pulling the blankets off. My cheeks flushed when they caught a glance at his shirtless body. I didn't stare for long, but I noticed he had several pale scars littering all over his back and chest.
"I just-… didn't think you'd be right there on the floor." I directed my eyes to the floor awkwardly. He had blue carpeting that reminded me vaguely of a boy I used to know in a foster house I was in briefly before being sent to live with Sam. I forget his name but he had blonde hair like me and we both had the same green backpack. I remember he had an older brother too.
As I was trying to remember the two boys' names, Marshall's voice tugged me back to reality. "-Earth to Fionna." I glanced back up at him. "Huh?"
"I was trying to ask you if you wanted something to eat, but you were just staring at the carpet like a derp. So do you want something or not?" He asks as he stood up and stretched his back which made a loud cracking noise.
I cringed a bit at the sound. "Sure."
Breakfast that morning consisted of strawberries, and buttered toast for me and tomato juice for Marshall. He was surprisingly quiet during this time and it kind of made me wonder where the snarky Marshall was. I just figured he wasn't a morning person.
The silence was broken when he stood to put his empty glass in the sink. "You know, you talk in your sleep, right?." He rinses out his glass and set it down.
I raised an eyebrow. "About what?"
"You were talking about cake, spaghetti, the ocean -you kept telling a 'fear feaster' that you didn't want to go in the ocean-, and then you just started to mumble gibberish. It would have been more adorable if I hadn't been trying to sleep." He looks to me. "You done with your plate there, Bunny?"
I looked down at my plate, which only had a few crumbs. "Yep." I stood up and followed the same steps Marshall had just took when he rinsed his cup out.
"So, since you have like no decent clothes-"
"You went through my bag, didn't you?" I ask crossing my arms and narrowing my eyes a bit.
"What? No! I-... I'm surprised you'd even think I would do such a thing!" He was acting way too innocent, but wearing a guilty look.
"Don't act so innocent, Marshall. Your facial expression just proves my assumptions. That's so not mathematical, dude."
"It doesn't matter how or when I looked into your bag of clothes, all I was trying to stay is that maybe we should go out to the mall or something when the weather clears and get you some clothes that will keep you from freezing your ass off in this weather."
Honestly, I was a little surprised that he cared enough to want to make sure I had weather-appropriate clothes. It was a bit off putting and I really didn't know how to react at first. After a small mental debate, I decided that it probably would be best if I got some clothes before I left out on my own again...
"Alright, but I'm paying for them myself." I still had almost all of the two hundred dollars that I stole from Sam left over.
Marshal nods. "Alright. We'll head out once the roads clear enough." And with that, he walked out of the room and went to shower."
I walked over to the living room and turned his television on and channel surfed for a bit, clicking up the channels and only catching small fragments of shows that I didn't know. I finally stopped on some kids' channel and watched a show about a blue cat with clothes and an orange fish with a head, legs, and arms, but no distinct torso. Apparently they were best friends as well as brothers and they had a pink bunny for a dad and a cat mom and little sister who was also a pink bunny. It was a strange show, but I ended up watching another three episodes of it. During a commercial break I looked out the window and examined the dense layer of snow covering everything. If I didn't know it was there before hand, I would hardly be able to tell where Marshall's truck was.
When I looked away from the window again, Marshall was some how sitting right next to me. I didn't hear him come in or feel him sit down even, he's like a ninja or something.
"When did you get there?"
"Two minutes ago." He looked at the T.V where he commercial break had ended and the show, which I had found out was called The Amazing World of Gumball, was on and playing a different episode. "What the hell is this shit?"
"A kids' show. It's pretty strange, but also interesting. Just watch."
We spent the rest of the day on his shitty couch, snowed in and watching the show (well, Marshall watched it to solely make fun of it and criticize it) because apparently it was on an all day marathon or something. Even though it was a pretty average day for a typical person, this had been the best day I've had in a long time.
I hope you guys don't hate me for not updating, I have just been a stupid biscuit for a few months and kind of lost my will to do a lot of things. I promise you guys this is not a dead fanfic, I will continue. If I do decide to end it, then I will give you all a heads up. Hopefully I stick to this, because I like it a lot and I have quite a few plans. Sorry that I am not the best writer, I'll try to improve, but if I got some constructive comments on how I can improve or just a some comments on how you guys like (or dislike) the fic thus far, that'd be real swell! I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful day/night depending on the time that it is for you currently!
I promise to try and update quicker next time!
