Hey my dear friends,

I am so thankful of you for still being there with me ! It shows just how much this ship is strong even after so many years... *-* I can't thank you enough !

Love you all and love Arwen FOREVER ! 3

Chapter 23:

Guinevere was still pounding on the door and Merlin chuckled, getting up.

"I think I'll go to my room and leave you two to talk."

Arthur nodded.

And then he walked to the door,

And opened it.

Morgana was in a hotel room, tears rolling down her cheeks as she wasn't sure she had made the right decision.

(She knew she didn't.)

She loved Merlin,

She really did.

But he wanted too much of her and she couldn't give him what he wanted.

She was not that kind of person.

So she had to let him go.

She was just not brave enough to tell him so face to face...

"Why are you here?" Arthur tried to be cold but the young woman only scoffed and then she grasped the lapel of his sweatshirt and brought him to her before kissing him passionately. At first he didn't want to kiss her back but he couldn't really help it when his treacherous hands found their way to her waist and brought her even closer to him, deepening the kiss.

When they receded, Guinevere cupped his cheeks tenderly and brown eyes locked onto blue.

"I want us to work, Arthur." his heart warmed at that and he couldn't help his smile. "But for that to happen, you need to start trusted me. I love you and you only, but if you really love me back, you have to stop being afraid. I know I've messed up in the past, and I am so sorry but what we have mean the world to me..."

At first Arthur didn't answer and that scared the hell out of her, but then he sighed deeply and leant in, whispering over her lips...

"You are right, my love. All I want is what we have to work, because I know we've got something real.. So," he sighed again, "I will stop being afraid and start trusting you, even if that means... letting you be friends with Lancelot."

Gwen beamed,

And then she kissed him again.

When Merlin didn't hear more shouts, he could only assume that Arthur and Guinevere talked it out and he was really so very happy for his bestfriend.

At least his girlfriend loved him enough to stay and try to make it work.

Merlin's heart broke in his chest as he took his phone and tried once again to call Morgana...

In vain.

Her phone rang again and Morgana froze when she saw it was Merlin again.

She couldn't talk to him...

Because hearing his voice?

She wasn't strong enough.

But she had a lot of time to think about it, and she knew how unfair it was to leave him without any closure...

So, with trembling fingers, she typed a text...

MP: Stop calling me, I won't come home. I am so, so sorry Merlin. But you deserve better than me. Goodbye.

Merlin got the text and his legs gave up on him, forcing him to sat on his bed.

All he could feel was... anger.

So much anger.

How dared she?

How dared she do something like that to him and not even have the courage to talk to him and face her decisions!

So, anger talking, he typed back.

ME: I knew you were a lot of things Morgana, but I never thought coward would be one of them. Thank you for opening my eyes on love and on you. I hope your new life will offer you what you search for and that I could not offer you. I hope to never see you again.

And then he threw his phone on the bed and buried his face into his hands, trying to hide the tears rolling down his cheeks.

Arthur and Guinevere were cuddling on his bed and she snuggled against his chest tenderly,

"Watching you walk away from me was so terrible..." she breathed and he sighed, brought her even closer to him and stroked her hair. "I felt so awful when you stopped answering me."

He sighed again.

"I am sorry. I can see now that I overreacter but each time you talk about Lancelot, my heart starts the Emergency system..."

Gwen's heart broke.

And then she receded slightly and forced him to look at her,

"I love you." she said again and he smiled that crooked smile she loved so much. She smiled back, narrowing her eyes and closing the distance between them. "And if you need to..." she whispered, "I can show you a way to forget about Lancelot..."

Arthur laughed and then crashed his mouth on hers, before laughters turned into muffled groans and moans...
