"Astrid?" Hiccup spoke up louder, causing the group of four to just turn to face him.

"Oh, this is a surprise." Astrid replied, "Hello." Waving her hand to the brunette.

"How are you alive? Or let alone- Not - Just, Astrid?" Hiccup walked over, but stopped just barely five feet from where he was.

"Your leg is missing." Astrid was observant.

"Yeah, a year after I had to kill you, I lost it." Hiccup was practically gritting the words through his teeth, trying not to grind them together but in a failed attempt to do so.

"Well, Hiccup. I had to do that. I'm not going to explain what happened to me, because frankly, it's better off if I'm a ghost in the wind." Astrid crossed her arms, "But I can say Flynn helped."

"Whose Flynn?" Hiccup rose a brow.

"Him." Astrid pointed behind her to the brunette male, he waved- in no way awkwardly to him. He had a smug grin and Hiccup rolled his eyes.

"At least tell me how, please." Hiccup could feel how constricting it was to breathe, he looked at the other males and then at Astrid, while she let out a groan of frustration.

"You didn't shoot me. I know that. It looked like you did, you actually just left me alone. Remember? You shot at the ground near my head, and you wanted me to be reanimated. So telling everyone 'you killed me' is a little out of the ballpark. The whole blood and bite-mark look was just makeup and Flynn biting, then I put fake blood." Astrid inhaled deeply.

Hiccup was going to shout, or try to do something that meant one of the fours would end up in pain, but the door behind him opened up and Kristoff stepped out, so Hiccup turned his head around, "Kristoff."

"You're not..- You didn't do what you said." Kristoff said.

"I know, because I know them- Well, her." Hiccup took a breath.

"Who is she?" Kristoff closed the door in the most not noticeable way, clearing his throat.

"Well, I'm no one of importance if he hasn't explained who I am, but anyway. I'm leaving, we claim this apartment, so I want to see whats in that room." Astrid spoke and when she was going to walk past Hiccup, he held out his crutches to stop her.

"No." He stared into her eyes.

"Hiccup, let's not start." Astrid replied.

"We were here first, and frankly, you're just a ghost in the wind." Hiccup replied as calmly as he could, and Astrid took a step back, lips slightly agape but not completely far apart, eyebrow raised and she let out a laugh that sounds like a scoff.

"Hiccup, I may be that, but that doesn't mean I can't get what I want." Astrid replied.

"I doubt that." Hiccup didn't show any emotion in his face, his voice was toned and emotionless. He just looked at her, and she looked back. Well, until Hiccup hit the ground and lost one of the crutches, and his balance. Astrid stepped over Hiccup while he struggled to sit up, and when Kristoff guarded the door, the two males had to fight him to get through, eventually leaving Kristoff dangling in the air with his arms being held to help keep him in the air.

"Now, why is this place so important? Let's see what you're hiding." Astrid pulled the door open, looking around until she noticed Anna who was laying the front room on the bed, "Seriously, Hiccup? What was she? Bitten? Oh, you couldn't do that to me? How very lucky of her."

"She wasn't bitten, she was shot." Hiccup countered, helping himself up with the wall and his crutches, "By an asshole who killed her sister."

"Oh, so that makes it more better to save her." Astrid went over to the bed, "Pretty, frankly. But I'm sorry, we're getting what we want." And she poured the semi-cold water on Anna while she stirred awake, spitting out any water.

"Kristoff? Wheres Kristoff?" Anna breathed, trying to sit up but having trouble and when she was met with Astrid at her bed, her quiet voice tried it's best to sound louder, "Kristoff? Hiccup?!"

"Anna!" Kristoff yelled and tried escaping the grasp, only to be hit against the wall, then Astrid shouted.

"Hey! Aiden, Gage. Not nice." Astrid was practically scolding them while Flynn was just laughing at it all, staying away from the twins- or they looked like twins- to prevent being injured in the process, then Kristoff could see Astrid sinking down to kneeing until her arms rested and supported her head while on the bed.

"So, what's so special about you?" Astrid asked, "They could have left you, 'Anna'."

"Where's.. Kristoff and Hiccup?" Anna tried to muster out.

"They're- well." Astrid failed to let her sentence continue on, before standing back up, "Flynn. Move the girl."

"Astrid, going too far." Flynn casually reminded her, "We can all live under the same building without having trouble, can't we?" He turned to look at Hiccup who was just glaring at him.

"Not with her." Hiccup replied.

"Well, it's either you- or her. And obviously, we're a tie. So." Astrid walked out of the room while Flynn was in the middle of talking, looking at Hiccup.

"She needs to explain. Everything." Hiccup demanded, "Then we'll talk."

Rapunzel's group was gone from the house within the next morning of the next day, they were out and grabbed anything that could help them along the way after seeing what they all had on them. Ten cans, five water bottles. It was weary for them, so they went to the closest grocery store in hopes nothing was expired.

"Okay so, I spy.. Something green." Vanellope said while on the way there.

"Trees?" Ralph asked.

"Nope!" Vanellope replied simply, and Ralph looked around in confusion. There was nothing green at all besides the trees, so he sighed in defeat.

"Alright, kid, you got me." Ralph was defeat and Vanellope let out a laugh before she replied.

"The green on Merida's bow."

"That was hard to spot from here!" Ralph countered while turning his head to look at Vanellope before looking forward.

"Okay, we're here." Merida said when they reached the grocery store, pulling her bow out from around her so it was more gripped and able to use properly, then looked over at the others, "Whose coming with?"

Rapunzel unclipped her frying pan from the semi-belt she had made, swinging it around with her index finger and nearly almost hitting herself in the head, feeling as if her heart bursted out of her chest when noticing that, "I'll come with you."

"Be careful!" Vanellope told them when Merida had to manually open the door and they ventured into the store.

Merida turned on the flash light that she had originally taped onto her new crossbow at the bottom, allowing it to provide more light than what the windows could bring in, the store was dark because of how tinted with dirt the windows were getting, and whenever they heard a noise or growling, Merida was the one to shoot in long range while Rapunzel focused on the ones that were closest.

Once they hit the end of the store near the secondary fire exit, they ventured on back until Merida stopped them, "Wait." Rapunzel turned her head to find Merida looking behind before lightly walking before it turned into a lightly run walk and opened up another door to the backroom where the boxes and deliveries would come from, and the next thing Rapunzel knew was that the lights would flicker on in the entire store, providing the perfect light.

"Backup generator, it still works." Merida replied when next to the blonde, putting her bow on her back once the flashlight was flicked off, "Okay, so list off everything we need."

"Water is one, any food that's not expired is another. Anything basically." Rapunzel grabbed the nearest cleanest cart, while Merida took the nearest little shopping basket, they both ventured their own ways

Merida focused on food while Rapunzel went down any isles and grabbed anything useful.

Merida turned around the corner, only to pause when seeing a figure, however, before Merida could do something about it- she had to duck behind the little bit of the isle while pulling her hair into a ponytail as quickly as possible, allowing no hair to show when looking down the isle. The figure was a woman, identified after the hood fell, after she fell to the ground when someone else slapped her.

"Tori?" Merida mouthed to herself, but when the man looked in Merida's direction, that's when her body carried her on it's own to wherever Rapunzel was.

Jack and Edward found a roadblock of cars with infected on the side, so naturally they would check the cars and see which one works. It was a silver ford explorer, the paint job was a little chipped, the windshield had a long crack from the left to the right in a zig zag manner but aside from that, they took it and began pushing other cars out of the way.

Jack drove, and Edward just picked up reading.

"So, does Hazel die?" Edward stopped in the middle of the book, looking over at Jack, "Cause it feels like she does."

"I can't tell you." Jack looked over at him for a split second, before turning to the road, "Because it's spoilers."

"Oh, please just tell me."

"I can't."

Edward groaned before going back to the book, Jack trying to refrain from grinning because he knew how Edward would actually react to the ending.

Edward got to the next chapter before being practically thrown forward to the dashboard of the ford explorer, nearly being choked on his seat-belt and angrily looked at Jack before noticing how dangerously close they were to being brought down into the water and he scrambled to unbuckle himself, Jack doing the same.

"I think it's stuck-" Jack almost swore but his words were late when the buckle sent a snapping sound and he quickly climbed into the backseat with Edward behind him, he then made it to the trunk side while looking back to Edward, "Hey- What- Edward! We don't need our backpacks!" He popped the rear windshield open.

"We kind of do!" Edward reached back to grab his backpack, thankfully it was at the passenger seat next to him but noticing where Jack's was- floorboard of the passenger side- he had to climb back into his seat to grab it. The ford explorer rocked forward to the males movement when he climbed in, then moved even more when he had to climb back out.

Edward stepped to the backseat, about to climb over to the trunk - hitting the floorboard and the seats of the passenger and driver sides when the explorer actually tipped over and went to the water banks.

"Edward!" Jack shouted, running to the explorer after being a foot away, and when making it to the edge, he fell to his knees to peer down only to lose the car in sight, "Damn it!" He got up, jolting off in a direction to the slope that would lead him down to the banks, taking his shoes, socks and jacket off before jumping into the water.

Only difference is when he came up for air, he screamed his friends name.

He swam to shore, panting for breath and collapsed to the ground before spurting out a little water from his mouth, "Damn it."

He didn't bother doing anything, he watched the water flow in such a calm manner in hopes to see Edward be brought up for air or at least see him running off in a random direction but when the sun began setting and there was no sign of Edward, Jack put his shoes on- ignoring the socks because he didn't feel like it- and left his jacket on the ground, he turned away and had to climb up the slope.

When he passed the bridge, he looked over and noticed two things being in the off distance near the broken area, he walked over. It was Edward's book as well as Jack's own backpack.

"Damn it, Edward." He mumbled out taking note that he had thrown it out before being lost forever, and so Jack picked them both up, backpack through one arm while looking at the book, then he walked off in the direction they came from.

"So, one more time- You used to like her?" Kristoff made a face when Hiccup practically explained everything between him and Astrid, "Don't you think that was a horrible choice?"

"I'm kind of asking the same thing." Hiccup replied.

"Oh, how sweet." Astrid made a smile, "But I gave you my deal. Leave or be killed."

"I'm not afraid of your little 'henchmen', Astrid. I chose this place fair and square, Anna can't even move her own body without almost breaking a stitch so please, if you wish to take my offer." Hiccup told her, "Leave."

"What do I get in the deal if I leave?" Astrid asked.

"Nothing, that's it. You get nothing."

"Hmm, no." Astrid replied.

"Then what do you want?" Hiccup groaned, clearly cutting Kristoff off from speaking, "I will give you whatever I have in my backpack."

"I want the suture kit included."

"I can't guarantee that." Hiccup replied.

"Well, then I stay." Astrid began painting her nails a sort of gradient color with an unused makeup sponge, the nail polish smell hit Hiccup's nose while it scrunched a little before he spoke up finally ;

"Fine." Hiccup pulled his backpack off of his back, looking through it until practically throwing the kit at Astrid, who made a yelping sound from being hit, "What do you need it for anyway?" He asked, ignoring the pain reaction she gave.

"I need it for someone." Astrid replied, "If they're alive." Then she stood, walking to the door while Flynn and the twins were waiting for her in the hallway, she stopped. Her voice almost catching in her throat and didn't want to come out, she turned her head very slightly, "Hiccup, if we cross paths again, I will not hesitate to kill you."

Hiccup just waved goodbye while not turning his chair at all to face her, hearing the sounds of the four pairs of feet walking off, then it stopped, and then you could hear the echoing in the hallway one would get when walking down stairs.

"Will Anna be fine without one?" Kristoff asked, very softly and quietly.

"Yes. But I still need you to find me pieces." Hiccup didn't turn to face him, he stared looking at the sleeping Anna that was barely living on a string of life, "For my leg."

"Anything, just draw me what they should look like." Kristoff told him.

And Hiccup did a little after, then Kristoff was off while Hiccup had to work on making Anna's fever go down, as well as checking to see if her bandages needed to be changed, or if a stitch pulled- anything similar to that. He tended to Anna before tending to barricading the apartment then himself.

He woke up to Kristoff knocking on the door, six knocks. It was to identify him.

Hiccup moved the chair, opened the door and Kristoff held a box in hand. It was full of what would be junk to others, but it was valuable to Hiccup.

"How do you know how to make things?" Kristoff asked in the middle of Hiccup piecing two small things together to a long rod.

"My father wasn't all into inventing, he was more into hunting and fighting, my mother- when she was alive- was more into protecting endangered species as well as tending to me, but me? I had to have a hobby to get away from the feelings of lots of things. My mother dying, moving away a lot and losing friends, or just plain being bullied. I picked up inventing from my Uncle." Hiccup explained, a little monotone but not all that much, he still showed emotion when he mentioned his parents.

"Oh." Kristoff managed, "Must have been nice to have a get-away-hobby."

"It had it's ups and downs." Hiccup replied, "Sometimes I can't.. Make what I want, or.. I don't know." He finally said.

Kristoff patted Hiccup's back after noticing the stop of Hiccup's hands while staring just blankly at the wall or something in front of him, he moved to put a washcloth on Anna and decided to give Hiccup his own space.

Hiccup stared at what he had done so far- it wasn't even close to being considered a working prosthetic, but he grabbed the next thing to use after a moment of thinking, and began tinkering away until he fell asleep on the desk with his barely-there project in his hand.

Rapunzel was basically hoisted away with Merida's arm around her waist, they ran out in a quick manner while barely making a comprehended speech to the others, but they did understand 'run away now' and so they all did.

They darted to the woods but Merida stood back to see if they were going to be followed, the man did indeed run out with a Tori who rubbed her cheek that he had struck, when he couldn't find Merida in the woods, he almost shouted at Tori as if it was her fault before walking in the opposite direction as them, so Merida took an all clear to catch up with the others.

"Who was it anyway?" Rapunzel asked when Merida caught up.

"It was Tori and some man. He slapped her, and I couldn't defend her, he had pure rage in his eyes." Merida told her sitting down at the dining room table in the house they took.

"We didn't get the things we needed." Gothel crossed her arms, "So now what?"

Merida looked up at the black haired woman who stood in the doorway, "We didn't get the things, so what? We still have enough of it. There's millions of stores, we can go to another one." She stood.

"Do you think there'd be candy?" Vanellope asked, "Because it's been a long time since I've had candy."

"Well, it'd be .. Stale? But it also depends on what it's made of." Rapunzel told her.

"M&M's?" Vanellope turned to her.

"Hmm, maybe." Rapunzel smiled, then facing the two curly haired who were almost at each others throats, judging by the mean glaring they kept giving to one another, "For now- Don't blame Merida for her actions. She has her own reason not to trust people and to flee when she sees danger if she can not go to it headstrong."

"The only obvious thing about that is that she's a coward."

Merida's lips were pressed into a fine line, but it was clear she was trying to prevent herself screaming at the woman or lashing out like she's always wanted to, it probably hurt to keep her lips like that- In Rapunzel's eyes it seemed like that.

"She's not a coward." Vanellope spoke up before Rapunzel could, "She saved my life."

"You happened to be lucky." Gothel was judging the red head with every little bit of her eyes could, and Merida snapped;- finally headbutting the so called aunt of Rapunzel, sending Gothel to the ground while holding her nose, "What the hell- What was that for!?" Gothel shouted from the little bit of her hand covering her mouth and nose.

"That's for calling me a coward." Merida swung her backpack onto her back by through her arm in a quick motion, kicking the chair out of the door way and walked out of the house with the door slamming shut.

"Well, now do you see what you've done?" Rapunzel groaned in frustration before taking off after her friend while Gothel only looked at Vanellope and Ralph as if for critizism.

"It's not like we needed her." Gothel mumbled, standing up to dust herself off.

"We did. She was the best hunter we had, she was also very skilled in getting our food for us, and you've gone and pissed her off!" Ralph shouted.

While the two of them argued, Vanellope quietly snuck away after the two of them, but stopped when she took note of Merida blowing up on Rapunzel in the middle of the street, clearly not caring if any infected were targeting their way.

"I can't be around her! I hate to be worthless when I'm always working on keeping everyone safe, I want her gone or you expect me gone!" Merida faced the blonde.

"But I don't want either of you gone." Rapunzel barely made out from beyond a whisper.

"I'm sorry, Rapunzel but I need to be far away from her forever. It's like she'll be the death of me one day if she continues to hang around me- or even you! She could be the death of all of us." Merida spoke in a sort of calmed down tone.

"How would she be the death to us?" Rapunzel asked.

"I don't know, but Rapunzel- If we hang around her, the more bad feelings I have of her."

Rapunzel swallowed a lump in her throat, then stared at Merida as if she was going to say something but nothing would come out; nothing. It was all trapped within the lump of her throat, it was like trying to throw up but you couldn't, then she spoke. Not the words she wanted to say, but they came up and it made Rapunzel have regret, "If you want to leave.. Then leave."

"Fine." Merida replied as simple as that, then she pulled her backpack to the front side of her to look through it, only to pull out three bottles of water, "You might need these."

Rapunzel took them in her hands, staring at them and when she finally reclaimed her senses to herself, it was when Merida said goodbye and Rapunzel shook lightly at her decisions, her upper teeth biting down onto her lower lip before she mastered the ability to walk once more- "Wait, Vanellope? You were.. Here the whole time?"

"Yeah, is Merida really leaving?" Vanellope had sadness in her eyes, "Or will she come back?"

"I don't know." Rapunzel set the bottles down next to Vanellope and herself when she crouched to the little youngsters level, pulling Vanellope into a hug, "I don't know."

When Merida made it to the board of the entrance and exit sign to the city, she had to take a breath but in doing so it brought on a lot of her bottled up tears while talking in that situation, just as she moved her hand when wiping one away, her other hand resting on the significant eye, she looked over and noticed someone slightly drenched- but she knew them, "Jack?"

"Jack!" Merida called out more.

He looked up at the curly archer before jogging over to her, meeting with her halfway only for them to share a tight hug before he quickly asked, "Wheres Rapunzel? Or Hiccup? Kristoff-?" He began asking but Merida stopped him.

"Kristoff and Hiccup are still M.I.A, Rapunzel and I.. Split up just.. I guess it would be a two hours or more now." Merida looked up at the sun. It was sort of bright out when they were together, but now it was sun down.

"Why?" Jack asked.

"Someone we picked up on the way made me leave, she kept giving me bad vibes and.. Finally I snapped, earning her a hopeful broken nose." Merida explained.

"Do you think we could still catch Rapunzel?" He asked, sort of having half a smile on one end of his lips that curved, but Merida didn't share a hopeful smile.

"I don't think so. If anything, by now, that someone would've made them leave." Merida was trying to speak as clear as possible but the quietness of her voice was coming out on it's own, "So." Finishing her sentence.

"Oh.." Jack's sort of hopeful smile formed back into no emotion.

"Didn't you leave with Edward?" Merida asked, "Where's he?"

"Edward and I.. - He.- We found a car, and I was tired at the wheel without realizing it, but when I did realize it, it was too late. Our car went over a broken part of the bridge with him still in it, I swam to where the explorer landed but.. He was no where to be found. He was just.. Gone." Jack replied, taking a breath.

"I'm sure he will turn up, but I guess for now- we can see if Rapunzel is still there." Merida tried to lighten him up, and he nodded to the option.

They began walking to the house Rapunzel might be in.

"Fu- Cold ass- mother- ugh." Edward groaned when he hit the road, throwing his wet shirt into the woods while he tried to soak up what little of the sun there was in hopes to dry him off and or keep him warm until he could find a place.

"Edward- No, - wait- don't- It's - Edward, move!" Edward's eyebrows burrowed at the confusion so he turned his head where he heard the voice but was shot with something in his leg, he practically let out a hiss before getting light headed, he looked at his leg- "Fucking.. Tranquilizer?" He fell to his knees before his breathing began more slower and took longer to come out, before he could even mouth out something to the unknown person in front of him with Tori at their side, he hit the ground.

"Tori, you know this one?" He eyed her while she was sort of behind.

"Yes. His name is Edward.." Tori began, but was cut off.

"Then he will make an excellent test subject for a cure, would you like to watch him scream in agony?" The black haired man spoke in a haunting tone while Tori bit back a sob of sorts.

"No." She pleaded, "Please, no."

When the man ordered for the other people that was with him to pick up Edward, Tori stood behind only to turn on the heals of her shoes, shouting at the scientist, "Pitch! You can't do this!"

"I can do whatever I want." He waved his hand as if he was waving goodbye to Tori but she knew the way he did it, it meant a 'come along' and so she had to obey his orders, and walked after him but keeping a distance of five feet.
