'Whoever took her will pay and so will everyone else involved. They will pay with their lives.' Laxus thought angrily. Lightning swirled around his form. He would find them and hunt them down.
Laxus barely restrained himself as he took off after those who had taken Kagome. He knew it was a trap but he didn't care. They had only been together for a short time but he wasn't going to let anyone use her against him. He had already read and remembered the instructions left from Kagome's kidnappers. Only he was allowed to come claim her and he was supposed to pay ransom, which he didn't have but he knew he could take them. The only reason those bandits had gotten Kagome was because they had been ambushed and the attack had come out of nowhere. But now he was focused and he wouldn't be caught off guard a second time.
He slowed down once he realized he was close to his destination. He needed to be more cautious because there was no way he was messing this rescue mission up. Usually he would just get in and out as quick as possible but that was because he usually let people live but not this time. He could smell her blood, fear, and pain even from this distance. His lightening aura tightened around his body. There would be no playing or taunting his enemies. He could sense a few scouts ahead and knew the time had finally come to get Kagome back.
Laxus struck the first scout without even slowing his pace or even glancing their way. The second one he saw had the scent of Kagome's blood on his clothes so he personally killed him without power. Snapping his neck only delayed him a few seconds before he was on his way again. He slid to a stop just at the edge of the clearing where he knew Kagome was being kept. He was just out of sight of his targets as he studied the clearing. Only 3 buildings were present but he was able to pinpoint the smell of Kagome's blood coming from the one that was the farthest away. The amount of blood he finally smelled this close was testing his control.
A feral grin graced his face as he decided to make his presence known. He jumped into the air and released a huge barrage of lighting, taking out the two houses that didn't have Kagome in them. He could tell a few survived the attack but he was able to take most. He also used the chance to set up thunder palace around the entire clearing but these orbs weren't just meant to deliver pain. He filled them with enough to ensure once he left the clearing, no one would survive.
"That was quite a show of strength," a voice called out as the debris started to settle. A figure began to appear from the dust. He had black, shaggy hair that fell to his shoulder and dark purple eyes. His outfit was a purple tank top with black hakama style pants. There were no weapons on his person. "Long time no see, Laxus," the man said to him.
Laxus felt his eyes narrow in anger when he recognized the man in front of him. He was a wizard that he and Freed had attempted to capture over a year ago. He had ended up sacrificing his men to escape. He was a sadistic murderer and known to torture his victims while demanding ransom from the families of the victim. His blood boiled knowing this man had Kagome in his clutches. He wasn't getting away this time.
Finally able to rein in his emotions, Laxus stood up straighter than he was and finally acknowledged his opponent by tilting his head to the side. "You've pissed me off, Totsu. You should have stayed hidden," he said in an almost bored tone. It was the calm before the storm.
Sorry guys that it has been so long since I have updated but my computer crashed last year and I didn't have a computer until the beginning of this year. I hope you enjoy this chapter and I am already working on the next chapter. The battle scene just keeps rewriting itself. I am working on my other stories as well to get back into the groove of writing and updating. For those that have read this from the beginning, thanks for sticking with me.
