AN: I had a couple of anons request: How did their first kiss go? I did one, but here's another. Enjoy!
Kurt knew Rachel was ready for affection. They had done hand holding and she had sat in his lap a time or two. But kissing… he let out a breath of air. Kissing was something they hadn't broached yet. Kissing was intimate, and while Brittany had provided him with a great object lesson in high school… kissing Rachel Berry was a different story. He wanted to kiss Rachel, which scared him, quite frankly. Really wanting to kiss Rachel, not just the friendly kisses she had given him before when they parted ways or when she thanked him for picking up something at the store for her…
He sat down on the couch in the apartment with a flop onto the extra cushions. Did a first kiss need much announcement? His and Blaine's had been a surprise to him. His and Adam's had been mutual affection over popcorn and shared love for British comedy. Jacinth had been an experiment at a bar which he never wanted to repeat again. Rachel's felt different from all those. He touched his lips in thought.
It was like high school all over again, wasn't it? The nervousness, the uncertainty… before he knew it, he'd be stress eating again.
This was going to get complicated.
They had plans for the evening, which kept Kurt from thinking about it any longer and breaking out the mint chocolate chip. One of their fellow NYADA students they were friends with was playing King Lear in the Shakespeare at the Park and they decided to go for a walk under the nearby grove of trees before the performance.
"It's gorgeous tonight, isn't it?"
"Mmhmm," said Kurt absently. "The sun setting over the city is always dramatic."
"Not as dramatic as your hair," teased Rachel. "Seriously Kurt, how high are you going to keep putting it up?" She went to touch it, and something inside him nudged Kurt to go for it instead of waiting any longer. He put a hand under Rachel's chin, feeling her soft skin under his fingers before pressing his lips against hers.
It was so much better than he thought it was going to be. Her lips were warm and so smooth from the light lip gloss she was wearing. He pressed back a little harder, just enough so Rachel would know he was serious about this. He felt Rachel's arms wrapped around his neck and running through the back of his hair and… oh. That was nice.
He pulled back for a moment and smirked. "As much as I want to."
Rachel looked a little starry-eyed. "Please do."
They kissed again.
